The Priest's House in Craven

We had our wedding here and it was the perfect day for us. The venue is stunning, food was exceptional and the staff went above and beyond for us to make sure we had the wedding day we dreamed of. All of our guests commented that it was such a beautiful location and they enjoyed the food so much. Thank you to Connor, Debbie, Steve, Mark and the rest of the team for making our wedding so special, we will forever be grateful.

I literally don’t know where to start on this review !! It’s took me a while to write as life has been hectic and I wanted to do this venue justice! All I can say if your getting married and you want a magical day from start to finish book the priest house!! We fell In Love with this venue from the moment we set eyes on it ! And the family and staff that sorted our day did not disappoint !! Everything about our day was perfect! The organisation and care from Conor was amazing ! The chef treated us to a stunning wedding breakfast what a star! and canapés as our guest sat in the sun surrounded by beautiful scenery were fantastic…. They cater for any dietary requirements without a hint of fuss too! Debbie the owner is a florist and she did an amazing job , took any pressure off me finding a florist in an area that we don’t live ! I would definitely recommend Debbie . I cannot begin to mention all the staff that made our day so special , they were all professional but relaxed and friendly ! But special thanks goes to Conor , he was there throughout the day , checking that everything was done to a very high standard , but in a way that you hardly knew he was there , but he really did have everything covered . Had a fantastic time at the wedding of our daughter and fiance. From start to finish Connor made sure everything ran smoothly and it most certainly did. The flowers were done by Debbie and they were really stunning. The food was absolutely gorgeous piping hot lots of choice with the vegetables. Really felt for the chefs cooking on what must have been one of the hottest days this year. I would certainly recommend this place for an intimate wedding venue

My son and his fiancée got married and had their wedding celebration at the Priests House recently. The day was perfect from start to finish. The venue is absolutely beautiful. The setting is amazing. Connor, the owner did a fantastic job of organising the day – everything ran so smoothly. He organised the bride and groom and guests in a very informal manner, yet got things done! The day went like clockwork! The food was absolutely delicious. It was all served piping, hot and excellent quality. I would definitely recommend the priests house if you want a hassle free, high-quality quirky venue for your ceremony and celebrations. It’s not a cheap option, but it’s well worth the price

Attended a wedding at the tower. The canopies to start were delicious. The wedding breakfast was hot and well cooked. The staff were lovely and attentive with nothing being too much trouble. The venue itself is beautiful in rolling countryside. One of the best weddings we have been to. This was down to the staff, venue and food.

We celebrated our wedding on 6th May 2023 after almost two years of planning. It was honestly perfect and I wish we could do it all again. It truly was the best day ever and we will remember it forever. The food and service was incredible. Absolutely everyone commented on how amazing the food was. Conor was also amazing and absolutely nothing was too much and there wasn’t a single hiccup. I feel extremely lucky to have had my wedding here and I truly thank every member of staff there. I must also mention Debbie who did all my wedding flowers who also owns the venue. They were absolutely stunning!! Every little detail was just superb and nothing was too much. fair enough it was a wedding I attended here, however credit where credit is due - this team could not do enough for us. I was the 'awkward' bridesmaid - recently acquired handy gluten & lactose intolerance plus veggie (cue eye roll) Have to admit I was expecting to not be overwhelmed .... couldn't have been more wrong. My food was prepared by the chef, carefully thought out and presented beautifully. Not only was it tasty and original, the service was excellent. I didn't have to ask about anything - they informed me of what each plate or item was discreetly and I wasn't made to feel like a problem. It's hard to understand unless you've had the draining experience of eating out with all the above factors. You don't want the drama, you just want great food and great service and I can 100% confirm this is what I received ( as did every other guest) Absolutely wonderful place - thank you to the fantastic team who make days like this memorable x

We had our wedding here 29/09/22. Right from our visit they have been absolutely amazing, their communication throughout has been so helpful and nothing was too much for Steve and Connor. On the day itself they ran it to a T, they ran everything so smoothly and professionally whilst being so personable and looking after our guests. The venue and it’s surroundings are absolutely beautiful and the food is incredible. All our guests have said it’s the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. Overall, we are so glad we chose this special venue for our wedding and cannot thank Steve, Connor and their amazing team enough.

We got married here in July and I can honestly say the whole experience from our first visit to actually getting wed was fantastic. Steve and Debbie's communication was brilliant from the off, and we loved their straightforward attitude with regards to planning. Nothing was too much trouble and they gave us good advice all the way through. The venue is completely stunning and exceptional value for money. We fell in love with it as soon as we saw it, and it has a lovely, calm atmosphere. All the staff without fail were charming all the way through. We knew the food would be fab as we attended a tasting evening, but it surpassed our expectations. Mark is a great chef, and our guests with dietary requirements were catered to exceptionally well. The cheesecake is the best we've ever had (and we've had a lot of cheesecake over the years)! On the day itself, Connor and the other staff were unbelievably brilliant. They genuinely cared about making our day as special as possible. Connor was so lovely with all our guests, including the many children in attendance, and everyone commented on how fantastic he was. We really couldn't have chosen a better venue - the venue speaks for itself, but the staff are absolutely exceptional. The combination of the two meant we had a perfect day, which we will treasure. What a beautiful venue/setting for our nephew’s wedding. Stephen and Lois what a special day. The staff were great and a special thank you to Eve. She is a wonderful asset to the team.

We have just had our wedding here and we cannot express how fantastic the experience was. Everything from the staff, the food, the hospitality and everything inbetween was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble for Connor and the staff, everything for our wedding was exactly as we could of wished with some additional touches included to make the experience extra special. We would highly recommend the priests house for a wedding, and we would like to pass our best wishes and thanks to Connor, Steve, Debbie, Mark and the rest of the team.

From the moment we first saw The Priests House in person we knew that it was the right choice for our wedding. It is a truly beautiful location to get married at - and the team were wonderful throughout all of our planning and the day itself. Thank you Steve - for the great job you did coordinating everything! Thank you Connor - for handling everything beautifully on the day - endlessly supportive and making sure everyone was having a great time. Thank you Mark for all your help as we put together a veggie and vegan menu (that was enjoyed by all!). And thank you Debbie - for helping us put together our flowers. The whole team were superb and we couldn't reccommend them more highly. If you do get the chance - be sure to book out the Bunk Barn on location. It won't suit everyone as is mostly bunk beds, but for anyone younger or who doesn't mind sharing - it's a fantastic space to enjoy the country and relax!

The perfect wedding day. Everything was spot on and immaculate. Every detail was thought of. Conor and his team were superb. They were attentive and very friendly. The food was outstanding and the wine divine. I cannot recommend The Priest House highly enough. You will not be disappointed having your wedding here.

We had our wedding at the Priest's House recently and our day was exactly as we'd imagined it! Over the year+ that we've been planning our wedding, Debbie, Mark, Steve & Conor have been brilliant, answering all of our questions, and managing our wants and needs quickly and professionally, while still being very friendly. Debbie did our flowers, they were absolutely beautiful - she worked with our colour scheme and produced something amazing. Mark and his team did fantastically with the food - our meal was delicious and I heard nothing but compliments from our guests. We had a taco buffet in the evening, served by the man himself, which despite still being replete from the wedding breakfast 7 hours earlier, went down gangbusters with everyone! Conor managed to get us through our day without a hitch and with a great sense of humour. He MCed our speeches, and, with his team, moved our guests and ourselves around without ever being obtrusive. Given the amount of weddings that the Priest's House are running per week at the moment, I don't know how he keeps a smile on his face! By the end of the day, I felt like I'd made a new friend. All this without mentioning the venue itself! What a fantastic location! We came across it on a random drive through Yorkshire a decade ago, and when it came time to book somewhere, it was the first place we looked for, then built our wedding plans around going there. The Chapel is gorgeous, and the views can't be matched - great for our wedding photos! Thanks everyone at The Priest's House for making our Wedding the perfect day. Just got back from staying at Barden Bunk Barn for the weekend, we had a medieval night in the priesthouse and we all dressed up in medieval costume, which added to the overall evening. The food was excellent including the vegetarian meal, all wine beer and cider was included, there was so much food the owner delivered the cheese board next door to the bunk barn so we could carry on later, all in all a fantastic stay and fantastic night all 17 were very pleased.thank youAndrew and 16 others

the first view of priest house from the road is stunning, the welcome when you arrive is the same. We wen to a family birthday party for lunch, which was a carvery, when we arrived we were welcomed with pimms or juice and a very lovely smile. The inside of the buiding is amazing it is like stepping back a couple of hundred years but with todays amenities, the staff were lovely, the food was great and the tables were layed out to perfection, it all went smoothly though I dont think there were more than 4 or 5 staff and about 40 or 50 people to see to but it all went so smooth, I would say it is one of the nicest places I have ever visited in this coulntry or any other.

Booking is a must for this fabulous venue near Bolton Abbey. The views are amazing from the Priest House and, as we had arrived early, we wandered around the area for a while before our booking.

So lucky to be taken here by my sister to celebrate a milestone birthday. The setting is outstanding. The buildings are quirky and beautiful with fascinating history. We were given a tour round the refurbished church which is spectacular and the perfect, fabulous wedding venue.

5 of us came for Lunch to celebrate a friends Birthday. Booked months ago and well worth the wait. Outstanding setting, food fine dining standard, staff attentive friendly but discreet. Nothing too much trouble. Certainly has the WOW factor we will return

Sunday Lunch, After a few attempts at trying to book in we finally managed to reserve a table, clearly high demand for this restaurant and we now know why! The food can not be faulted, the service was fabulous; the young professional lady helped entertain our small 3 year old while we enjoyed our food, what a credit to your restaurant. We enjoyed the crayfish and prawn cocktail, haddock fishcakes and roasts all around, not one element was missing. This restaurant is by far the best in the area and wins hands down with the local competition from restaurants to pubs in the surrounding area. We most certainly will be recommending to friends and family and will be returning.

We visited yesterday for Sunday lunch - wow - what a delightful menu - lots to choose from. We spent 2 hours eating and drinking and soaking up the atmosphere. It was truly a wonderful lunch and the staff were amazing - especially Connor who was extremely attentive and clearly cared all his customers were having a good time. Thank you. We had our wedding at the Priests House on 6th October 2018. The whole day was perfect! Debbie and her team could not have done enough for us. From the decorations for the ceremony to the seamless transition of the chapel for the wedding breakfast. Special mention also to Mark the chef who’s canapés, wedding breakfast and evening cheeseboards was absolutely sublime! They helped make the day as special as it could have been. I would without doubt recommend to anyone to have their wedding at the Priests House.

Booked Sunday Lunch for 8. Location is spectacular, the restaurant oozes atmosphere and gives a real sense of history. The menu is small but interesting and beautifully cooked. Staff are very friendly and helpful. All in all a delightful afternoon at the restaurant.

We were very lucky with the weather and it was sunny and very warm all day.The Venue has the Olde world charm and Romantic backdrop and the Chapel is quaint and especially with a piano player it makes the Day quite emotional.The food served was first class! Very tasty and well presented.Staff here are friendly and hard working.Nice garden with seating and Barden tower,s background helps the photos too.

I recently celebrated a significant birthday here with my family. We hired a private room for 14 people.

It is a long time since we last visited this restaurant. It is tucked away at Bardon Tower, North Yorkshire. We were very pleased to find Debbie still at the helm and that it had lost none of its atmosphere. We were made very welcome by Debbie and Haley.

We recently attended the wedding of Paul & Beth Woolston and we were amazed at the choice of location. It really is the most romantic and scenic place hidden in the depths of North Yorkshire.

Set in beautiful surrounds with amazing food. This is now my dream wedding venue! I came for a 3 course meal and was really impressed. The staff were brilliant.

Hemos estado yendo a casa del sacerdote durante unos cuantos años como un grupo de cuatro. La comida siempre ha sido excelente.

Cocina honesta, la hora del almuerzo o cena en un muy interesante y la ubicación, bastante diferente. Puede reservarse para fiestas, etc.

Nos casamos aquí en marzo de 2017 y 18, era simplemente perfecto. Como este está destinado a ser una revisión restaurante entonces Comenzaré diciendo que la comida era increíble, de muy alta calidad y servida con rapidez y eficiencia para 78 personas. Este es esencialmente un negocio familiar y Debbie y su equipo (incluyendo dos hijos) hacen lo posible para que sea una experiencia maravillosa. Desde una perspectiva de boda, Debbie siempre todas las flores y otros detalles de acabado para que la capilla del siglo 12 un lugar aún más increíble de lo que ya es. Nuestra ceremonia de boda y la cena en la hermosa capilla eran los sacerdotes de la casa, pero también es encantador restaurante y lleno de carácter. Alquilamos el Galpón en el lugar y litera muchos de nuestros clientes que nos había utilizado todo el sitio para nosotros durante todo el fin de semana. No "por 'lugares de boda que quería ir desde la Torre Barden palabra, pero también creo que este también es un lugar muy razonable, en términos de la calidad del servicio y la comida.

Una cálida bienvenida abundante a través de la puerta principal recto; los sacerdotes casa se siente como cocina de lujo ha sido traído a su propia sala de estar. Un pequeño lugar íntimo con comida para morirse y personal que se preocupan si estás disfrutando tanto como lo haces! Nuestras opciones de paté de hígado de pato y empanadas/queso de cabra para empezar eran sublimes y haber sido perdonado si pensamos que la generosas porciones eran platos principales! Dos Domingos asados con carne cocinadas a la perfección y hortalizas que sabía tan fresco como en su propio jardín y me sorprende que teníamos suficiente espacio para el postre. Sorbete de mango en un Chocolate Torte y bollos de pan y mantequilla estos eran dos budín muy felices (y completa) acampada! 3 campos (y bebidas) para igualar cualquiera de los muchos restaurantes con estrellas Michelin en la zona, y por menos de 50 libras? ! - lo que no se quiere de este lugar! ?

Visited as a potential venue for our wedding, absolutely stunning place! The building itself is amazing and they staff are lovely and very welcoming and helpful. Gorgeous area, amazing backdrop. So many nice places and other little vilages around it too, plus hotels/ holiday cottages. Didn't eat there but the menu and food looked amazing and I'm told by a friend who got married there last year that the food is to die for. Needless to say we booked our wedding there without question. Worth a visit definitely

We have just celebrated our wedding at the Priest's House. What an amazing venue! Debbie was on hand right from the very beginning and made the day go very smoothly indeed. The chapel is magical; the food is delightful, made all the better by choosing on the day, and the atmosphere created is perfect for an intimate wedding. Thank you!

We held our wedding in the newly opened chapel and I cannot recommend the venue enough. The staff were incredible, everyone commented on the quality of the food (including our friends who are professional chefs) and the whole experience was just fantastic. Our guests were all blown away by the location and the team at the Priests house took all of the stress out of the day, so we got to just relax and enjoy getting married.

Visited here early October for a friends wedding. Lovely venue, fantastic food and great service. There is a great bar area and lovely grounds to walk around in. Would definitely recommend.

The Priest's House hosted an evening event for local businesses. I had driven past the venue many times but had never been inside. It was a lovely evening with delicious canapes, stunning chapel hall and a fun bunk barn. The owner-host was delightful and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. Will definitely be visiting the restaurant and would definitely use for future events such as birthday parties or christenings and have already recommended to a few friends.

Canapes were delicious, desserts were delicious, service was welcoming and excellent.Debbie and team provided an excellent venue for our corporate function.

I visited Barden Tower recently as part of a women's networking group and was amazed at how I could have missed such a lovely place on my doorstep! Arriving by car from Bolton Abbey you can admire the fantastic view of the property and surrounding countryside. The welcome by Debbie and her team was warm and friendly and the canapes and deserts that they served were delicious and all home made on the premises. I understand that it is mainly used as a wedding venue, but it also serves Sunday lunch and evening meals in winter. I shall certainly be going back!

When you first view The Priests House you will be amazed. This place is historic romantic with a lovely cosy dining room and all in a stunning location with fabulous views of the Yorkshire countryside.We visited for Sunday lunch, the staff friendly and helpful and the food was exceptional, This restaurant is certainly number 1 on my list, it excelled all expectations. A wedding at this place must be magical. Cant wait for my next visit, which we have already booked.

This is like nowhere I have ever been before! Spectacular. Perfect for any occasions, wedding, special party, event, charity show...even a children's party. The atmosphere is amazing and the food and comfort of the venue is fabulous. It should be the law to go here once in your life! Wonderful host Debbie is amazing :)

We attended a wedding here on Saturday. The wedding meal was excellent, and Debbie and her team provided outstanding customer service.

We went to a wedding reception first decade of September. The wedding was actually in their small delightful chapel. The place is surrounded by lovely countryside and ten minutes walk from the river which leads to Bolton Abbey and along which a stroll is a must. Beautiful cosy furnishing and tables well set. The food was excellent and well presented. The people were very friendly so what more can you ask for. However bathroom facilities upstairs and unaccessible for the disabled and difficult for the elderly.

Debbie was absolutely amazing in helping us plan our wedding! Nothing was too big a task and the way she helped keep the bride calm throughout the months up to it and on the day is a massive credit to her. All our guests mentioned the stunning decor, the gorgeous surroundings and the truly amazing food which was prepared by Mark. To cater for high numbers with food coming out the kitchen of that quality is amazing, all the clean plates proved how good it was!All the staff up there also made the day and night run so smoothly, very attentive and welcoming and couldn't have done more to help.All in all they surpassed our expectations and the day was a total success! We would recommend this venue to anyone! Thank you all very much!

We had a big family get-together for bank holiday Sunday. There were 22 of us and it was brilliant. I have been before and knew that everyone would love it. It is the most amazing setting and beautifully decorated - there is no other place like it!! Food was superb as usual and great choice. Staff are so friendly and extremely helpful- really welcoming. We were lucky to have our wedding here on the 6th August 2016 and I cannot recommend it highly enough.From start to finish Debbie and her team were fantastic, I was not the most organised of brides but Debbie's relaxed, professional manner helped me to plan the day to make it perfect.The chapel is a stunning place for the wedding ceremony, we were lucky to have good weather and our guests made the most of the grounds, all of whom commented on the location.The food was outstanding, we had canapés after the ceremony, a three course wedding breakfast followed by cheese and biscuits all of which were plentiful, freshly prepared and delicious. We also had pie and peas for the evening guests which again was absolutely delicious.Debbie and her team worked tirelessly throughout the day to make it perfect, they were unobtrusive but ensured everyone had what they needed, it was a long day for them but they were all amazing throughout.Debbie also did the flowers for us which were exactly what I wanted and looked fantastic on the day, the chapel and marquee were decorated to a high standard and looked stunning.We also hired the bunk barn which is on the grounds and this was ideal for the guests who wanted to stay the night.I can't thank Debbie and her team enough and would highly recommend The Priests House for a wedding or any other celebration.

My band and I travelled from Essex to Skipton for a wedding we were playing at. Wow! Unfortunately our hire van broke down and we were left waiting hours for the breakdown cover. The staff couldn't have been more helpful in supplying us with food and drink and the use of their phone. An absolutely beautiful place with fantastic facilities and food and wonderful staff. We will all be back and cannot praise it enough! Go! You won't be disappointed! !

We had a beautiful Sunday lunch here with family. The place is stunning and the family owners friendly and welcoming. There are 2 sittings for Sunday lunch, 12-30 or 2-30. The restaurant is quite small and very homely so you definitely need to book. It was a good hours journey for us but well worth it!

Absolutely excellent all round. Fascinating place, wonderful surroundings with history, outstanding food and a warm family welcome. Very highly recommended. Have already booked to go back in 4 weeks and take my father for a birthday treat. Thank you for a great experience

My wife and I were invited to a memorial afternoon tea here after a thanksgiving service at Bolton Priory earlier. Excellent catering and service in a beautiful setting

I dined here today with a party of friends. The surroundings are breathtaking, set in the beautiful North Yorkshire Countryside. The building is centuries old and the decor is sympathetic to its age. At present, they take mostly party and event bookings, but at certain times it is possible to make conventional bookings.(eg Sunday Lunch) The website is attractive and easy to navigate. Most importantly, the food was outstanding, the staff friendly and welcoming, and the prices reasonable. We'll be back!

We booked in for Sunday lunch and I cannot praise this place enough. Absolutely stunning restaurant, beautiful food and first class service. This is the loveliest restaurant I've eaten in for a long time and well worth the 1hour 40minute drive it took us to get there.From the moment we arrived we received fantastic and friendly service. Genuinely blown away by this place and can't wait to go back.

During a delightful drive around the scenic area of Appletreewick, we came across the breathtaking sight of the Priest HouseWe are presently looking for a suitable location to hold an engagement dinner celebration for close family and friends, travelling as far as Ireland, Scotland and Poland. This seemed a perfect venue and after walking around the beautiful grounds, we excitedly decided to have a look at the menu.As soon as we entered the restaurant, a blonde female welcomed us with what we felt was immediate disdain, which us both feel uncomfortable. We asked to see the menu and rather than hand it to us to read ourselves, she unenthusiastically opened a random page and held out to our 'common' faces.We said that we wanted to come next Saturday and immediately we were advised sharply that there was a wedding, but no offer of invitation to come on another day.What a shame we were made to feel small and insignificant amongst beautiful surroundings and will continue our search for our dinner.

Never disappointed whenever we come here!! It's quite a trek but well worth the effort!! Had lunch today and was greeted with a hug and a kiss from the lovely Sam front of house!! Then greeted with a warm welcome from Connor ( Debbie the owners son!) Debbie always makes time to talk however busy it may be!! Steve ( the chef) never fails to deliver mouthwatering dishes cooked to perfection!! High praise for all the staff who are equally as nice and attentive!! The place oozes charm as does the surrounding countryside!! Especially nice to eat al fresco on the lawns during summer months but equally good in winter by the roaring fire!! Couldn't praise highly enough!!

We visited on Mother's Day with our friends that live in The Dales.We are from Nottiingham and our friends have wanted to bring us here for a long time but could never get in so we think that speaks for itself.The food was excellent and the staff very friendly.At the moment the Chapel is being renovated but it did,not spoil our visit..If my husband wanted to marry me again l would have my wedding there.Debbie you are doing a sterling job it was a pleasure to meet you.Valerie and Ken White.

We had my sons wedding in September at the priest,s house. Debbie and her staff gave us the most excellentday. All the needs of the guests were more than met.The Wedding Breakfast was excellent, the food was hotand the guest were all served by table, we had excellentreport,s from all.Well done Debbie, Steve, Mark, and all staff.

My husband and I recently went back to the Priest’s House for Sunday lunch and it is still superb. We had our wedding there 4 years ago and loved the venue so much we try to go back there as often as we can. You can be assured of a very warm welcome from Debbie and her staff and the food and service is second to none. Mark, the Chef, uses local produce and cooks it to perfection. In our opinion the Priest’s House can’t be beaten as a romantic, intimate wedding venue. All our wedding guests commented on the beautiful surroundings, ambience and the quality and choice of food. If you want to celebrate a special occasion or just want an excellent Sunday lunch in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, then give the Priest’s House a try – you won’t be disappointed!

Beautiful surroundings and it felt like we were in an old castle ruin, it was beautiful. The wedding service was wonderful as was the reception meal, compliments to the chef, could not fault it at all.

My other half drove past here and decided to take me for Sunday lunch, so I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing ruins and the character both outside and inside the restaurant. The staff were all friendly and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious!The restaurant is small and was full when we went so it's probably best to call and book in advance. Had a quick peek at the ruins/marquee, looks perfect as a wedding venue. Situated really close to the lovely Bolton Abbey which is always a plus!

Well, well... Superb location, fabulous staff and food along with the best Wedding Marquee I have ever seen. Everything ran as smooth as butter, probably because of Debbie :-) This lady could not do enough to make sure everything was spot on, flowers, candles, food, music - you name it ! Ps. Don't worry if you think it is a bit chilly in Yorkshire for an autumn or winter wedding, fear not the heating works a treat.
