Dont know why this place isnt packed, great building, phenomenal food, fantastic service, great place for friends and family, would definitely reccomend!
Nice pub but probably the smallest Sunday lunch I’ve ever had. 2 tiny potatoes, 3 small slices of gristly beef and had to ask for more veg. Looked like a child’s portion. Not worth £10 let alone £18. Such a shame as staff were very accommodating.

Avoid room three as it has a very small window which is frosted making the room dark, good value for money but I would like rooms to be cleaner than they were when I was there
I used to love having breakfast here but recently had tepid food had poached egg on toast on 8th April poached was overcooked asked for 3 toast got 2 slow serving hot drinks.
2 weeks ago came with husband sausage tasted unpleasant different to what you had to have and food e.g beans cold
The food here was really nice. I think it might have been the first few days of the xmas menu (we didn't actually want xmas food, we hadn't realised when booking) and it was chaotic. Went in at 7 and main courses arrived after 8.30. The only vegetarian option wasn't on so we had a few starters instead. And to be fair they didn't charge for those and the rest of the food was half price so it was a bargain. Nice atmosphere and location and wine was good value too. Needs a bit more organisation but nice food and the response to the chaos was good we didnt have to ask about bill reduction.
Visited pub as it was dog friendly and had good reviews.
We were met with a very friendly owner at the bar. We enjoyed 3 courses and drinks in lovely atmosphere. New menu we were advised had just gone live.
Shared a pigs in blanket starter which was lovely. Both had BBQ blade of beef main with chips & salad (see pic) and finishing with a shared choc brownie.

Absolutely brilliant, got first order for my nieces 18th, as brownie conassuirs lol they had a lot to live up to. No trouble there the brownies were absolutely fantastic. They was so tasty and quite large too, the service was brilliant with prompt delivery. I’m on my second order now for Easter, thank you so glad I found you. Can’t recommend enough, definitely a must
Booked one night as attending a wedding reception locally. Staff friendly and helpful on arrival. Customers also friendly. Room very clean. No breakfast available as the kitchen is newly reopened, we were told this beforehand. Unable to borrow hairdryer, I'd forgotten mine.
Next morning.......Unfortunately we couldn't get any hot water from the shower, stone cold and no one around to ask for help.
Recently visited on a Thursday evening. Such a lovely country pub, great atmosphere, amazing food (the best veggie lasagne in a long time!!) and lovely staff! Highly recommend.
