The Crown Inn has recently relaunched as a Cafe, as well as a pub. The decor is lovely, they have managed to keep it as a ‘good old pub’ whilst creating a relaxing cafe space at the same time. We ate outside, which was no problem (we were seated inside and changed our minds) and sat outside next to a children’s play area. Today I sampled the cooked breakfast, as did my son and my husband had the Crown full English (big!) whilst they did some chips for my toddlers. The breakfast was honestly the best full English I’ve had in a long time. It was nice to have one that wasn’t cheap meat etc. The bacon was nice and thick, the sausages were lovely (I will be asking where they get them from!) and the eggs were so tasty and fresh. Bread that came with it was yummy too. What I liked the most was that it wasn’t really greasy like a lot of fry ups can be. Now, besides the food being delicious, the service was great too. We felt very welcome (with twin toddlers we don’t always feel like we can relax and enjoy) and on that basis alone we would return. The pub is spotless (including toilets) and is clearly well looked after. The decor has lots of personal touches, which is perhaps how they managed to balance the pub and cafe look! My only issue is I want to try 5 different things on the menu! Great jobs guys, thank you!

I've visited the Crown Inn many times before but this was my first visit since it has changed into the Crown Inn Café and Public House. There was a mouth-watering selection of cakes and pastries to choose from and a great choice of cooked breakfasts (including a vegetarian one) and hot and cold food . The new menu seems to have something for even the fussiest of eaters. I only had a coffee and a cake on this visit but the aroma of another customer's cook breakfast made me wish I'd had more time to sample that too. I had the banana and toffee loaf cake and it was beautiful moist, the flavours really complimented each other. It was a lovely smooth cup of coffee too, a great size, and nice well balanced bean. I could easily have stayed for another cup and slice of cake if I'd have had more time or if I had thought to take my laptop with me. It's also worth mentioning the staff at The Crown Inn. They always make you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble. Will definitely visit again to try out the new menu. I highly recommend a visit.

Oh dear..... we had high hopes for this place but were very disappointed. Overheard the owner going on and on about a customer that had upset them without any thought to the customers currently in the restaurant. Food very average and cooking oil needed changing and tainted the food. other pubs in village much much better

Pleasant pub in a large Midland village. There is a substantial restaurant on one side of the premises but, despite this, it still very much has the feel of a wet led pub - and that is no bad thing. It's the sort of place where locals, often accompanied by their dogs, drop in for just a drink. The food is very good, with all the pub favourites such as burgers and fish & chips, plus a few more interesting dishes; prices about average for the area. We opted for burgers, an old favourite, and were not disappointed. On the bar, the ale offerings at the time of our visit were Butcombe and Adnams - nothing wrong with these, but why no local ale? They also host occasional live music plus other community events.

I’ve eaten at the Crown Inn a number of times now. My most recent visit being last night where I had dinner in the restaurant. I was made to feel very welcome and the food was of a high standard. This has also been my experience on previous visits where my family and I have been well looked after. It’s clear that management and staff care about the customer experience and that definitely shines through. My thanks to the team at The Crown Inn for an enjoyable evening.

Over priced sloopy pub grub and far from the gastro pub they think they are. Food was luke warm, tasteless and greasy. We found the service rude and arrogant (think it was the owner who struts about) when we complained at the delay. So many more and better pubs within 20 minutes. Dont bother going to the Crown its a horrid little nothing of a place.

Away for a few days and needed something to eat. This place appeared to be a little different from the usual pubs around the place and it didn’t let me down. Quite a small place - 6 pure dining tables and another 6 or so in the pub section, but a lovely warm atmosphere. Menu was a limited one with half a dozen starters and the same number of mains, but there was something for everyone. Limited menu also makes it easier to cater for. I skipped starters but went for the Lamb and Mint pie, vegetables and small cut fries - it didn’t disappoint. The pie was full of meat and vegetables, with a light puff pastry top and resonated with fresh mint from the garden. Amazing. For desert I had the homemade Rhubarb Crumble with Custard - but hot when it came out of the oven but when it had cooled down, it was lovely - not too sharp, with a lovely texture. The staff were friendly and attentive and I would 100% visit again if I was in the area or recommend to friends to visit!

What a fantastic find this was. Booked a table for dinner on a flying visit to the area. Realised that I had forgotten that the Wales v Denmark game was on at the same time and emailed the landlord to check on TV etc. John emailed me back very quickly to say that he would make sure that the game was showing in the pub. Fantastic news!. Arrived early for dinner to find that not only was the game on in the lounge but that John had reserved the best table to view the game for me. The restaurant itself looked lovely, but I wanted to see the whole game and so dinner was brought to our table in the lounge. The food was really top notch, we loved everything we had, all three courses were delicious. Ultimately it was a shame that we were only in the area for 24hrs, as we would love to re-visit and will certainly do so if we are ever back in Harbury - beautiful little village too, I must say.

This is a strange review, more relevant for the fearful in this weird Covid society. As I have lung disease and have been shielding for more than 4 months, it is fair to say that I was extremely nervous about venturing out for tonight's birthday meal with friends. The Crown Inn and there staff were right on the ball! They acknowledged my worries and alleviated them by their professional behaviour, awareness, and operation. They were not insulted by my use of my own antiseptic wipes on cutlery and glassware (probably unnecessary, but reasonable precaution under my circumstances). The food was great as always. As the saying goes - Stay Safe. Tonight, gradually, I felt safe. Will be back for another meal. It's the new normal. Get used to it.

Great pub Sunday roast. Not a Michelin star, but a really good pub Sunday roast. We arrived at 3pm and there was only the roast pork dinner left. Pork is never my first choice - it's usually the last to be honest. But we went with the pork lunch.Beautifully cooked - meat and veg, generously sized portions. Absolutely piping hot. Veg seemed to be cooked to order - Super great service. It was really very good service - from the front of house (lovely guy), to the time waiting for the food to be delivered (not too long and not too short).£31 for 2 main meals and 2 pints. Great value. My only really minor niggle - as with most places to be honest - why do places ask if you want condiments AFTER you've been served with your meal, and then you have to wait for the mustard / ketchup to be brought out to you (while your dinner goes cold). Please guys, ask after the meal has been ordered, then deliver before the food arrives. It's a far better experience.I loved today's experience. The place has a really lovely relaxed and friendly vibe, service was wonderful, the food was spot on. I'd definitely return to try the mid week menu and would highly recommend the Sunday lunch to anyone. Many thanks.

My wife and I are regular customers and went for a birthday meal. I had crayfish to start and my wife had pate. We both had the braised shin of beef. It was apart tender with great flavour. The potatoes that came with it were well seasoned and luke dauphinoise bit with stilton. Everything about it was awesome. Thanks team.

I took my daughter and her friend out for dinner last night before Uni goes back. It was the launch of the new menu. Lots of choice and the food was excellent with good size portions. Really nice friendly staff as ever. Thanks!

First visit to The Crown as a midpoint for meeting up with friends from Bicester. Delicious food and lovely deserts menu, with lunchtime weekday discount. Lovely staff were happy for us to stay and chat all afternoon. We are planning to retu4n in early December.

I visited here for tea with my two young daughters. It was relatively quiet being a Wednesday evening. I had the cajun chicken breast burger with sweet potato fries and my daughters had the fish and chips and burger from the children's menu.

Called in with some friends and their young children for the Sunday carvery. Very nice lamb and good selection of hot veg, plus was told I could go up again for more later if I wanted! Nice fish goujons starter too. Pleasant and helpful staff. Also great value- starter, carvery, dessert and a drink for under 25 quid. Will be going again!

Lovely pub in a pretty Warwickshire village, with a warm welcome and excellent food in generous proportions. Too generous for lunch, though! After working up a modest appetite on a gentle stroll in the area around Harbury, St. Giles' Church and the countryside, I only fancied the two slices of gammon, plus chips and a pair of freshly fried eggs, but hadn't bargained for the size of the slices of meat. Just be warned if, like me, you have a smaller appetite at lunchtime. Well-kept real ale on tap, plus if you want it a discussion on what Marston's have done to Pedigree. Nice touch that when placing my order, I was advised that a group of 8 or 10 in the adjoining room had just put in their order and hence our food would be delayed.

Looking around the area for a local carvery, usually go to the nearest Toby - what a mistake that was!!!

We were staying on the campsite in Harbury and wanted to find a nearby pub to watch the rugby in. The Crown Inn was suggested.

After getting refused service at another local pub due to them being understaffed (I think we were too young!) we decided on the Crown Inn in Harbury, which was a little out of the way, but had good reviews.

We visited twice in December, once with another couple at lunchtime and then the following week with 16 friends for an evening meal. On both occasions the food was superb, service polite and timely and the prices good for the quality of food provided.

We are part of a walking group and 11 of us had lunch here last Sunday. The carvery was excellent with 3 different roasts and a good selection of vegetables. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. We’ve eaten here before and judging by the comments we received from the group they’ll be keen to return.

Having seen a poor review from last week, we were a little hesitant to come here. However, from the moment you walk in, this pretty and unpretentious village pub feels like a lovely place to be. I believe we were served by Mum, Dad, and daughters, and were amazed by the freshness and quality of the food.

The staff are all very friendly but service was a bit slow on our visit. It took a while for us to get our order taken however I think there was a slight mix up i.e. one waitress thought the other had served us and vice-versa. It was all rectified eventually though so no bother.

I arranged a meal for the extended family and was embarrassed by the miserly portions and the poor cooking. £14 for Pan fried Sea Bass. Three index finger sized strips of fish tasting like very dry burnt cardboard.
