The White Swan in Stratford-on-Avon

Booked one night as attending a wedding reception locally. Staff friendly and helpful on arrival. Customers also friendly. Room very clean. No breakfast available as the kitchen is newly reopened, we were told this beforehand. Unable to borrow hairdryer, I'd forgotten mine. Next morning.......Unfortunately we couldn't get any hot water from the shower, stone cold and no one around to ask for help.

Whilst the menu is a little limited the food we had was of a good standard and we are picky eaters. The pizza had a super thin crust. The fish burger without the bun was cooked with a fresh tasting batter as was the side of onions rings which was delicious. The steak pie was flavoursome but could have done within more than two pieces of meat. The tweaks to the menu we requested were dealt with ease. The staff were friendly.

Very very average. The fish pie portion was TINY and they burnt the top of the pie (they said they would bring another top out for me but after I chased for it they admitted they burnt it again and I never got one). Would have loved for the village to have a great pub food spot but unfortunately it wasn't great!

A short stay for an event, at the nearby British Motor Museum. What a great place, really welcoming and full of local characters. Dog friendly with a huge pot of treats, on top of the piano. Everyone made us feel welcome.

A quintessential beautiful English pub. Had a great night with the friendly locals. Stayed the night in room number 5. Very good sized double, TV , tea and coffee making facilities, complimentary bottles of mineral water, fridge and microwave. The bathroom is a bit small but clean, well appointed and functional. The room is excellent value for money. Highly recommended!.

Very friendly but outdated decoration. Nice area though and lovely flowers blooming. Didn't have a meal.

This pub doesn't offer any food at the moment despite the website saying there is a restaurant and room only if staying in the courtyard rooms.

Booked a table for a family celebration after the tapas being recommended. Friday night booking so pub was very full and loud, staff seemed like they were new as they looked blank when we said we had a table booked. Pub grub menu was given to us, when I queried where was the tapas menu (in case we were in the incorrect place) they had stopped it the week before and hadn’t updated the website. The staff were young and I think they were new as they weren’t very confident or organised. Ordered a selection of food, chips were fries so within a few minutes they were hard and inedible. Curry came with hardly any sauce so food was very dry. We won’t be returning as this isn’t a local restaurant and was booked solely on the tapas recommendation

We booked specifically to sample the tapas to be told when we arrived they had stopped offering it a week ago. They now offer a traditional pub menu, fish and chips, curry, burgers, lasagne etc but no tapas! The staff were very apologetic that their website has not been updated and we received good service so no complaints. Friendly staff, a busy bar area and quieter restaurant. Worth a visit if you like pub grub.

Fantastic place to stay, although only 5 rooms. While our room was a little bit tired it was a good size and is did for refurbishment. In fact as if was the last room available they had to move materials out. Staff were all very friendly and helpful especially the Manager, Taylor, who was always on the move serving customers drink, food, taking bookings and always chatting with everyone she served. Our meal was also excellent good prices.

Bit of a hidden gem - by chance we found out that the pub was now doing tapas. Fabulous tapas and service. Highly recommend. Very good value for money. Will definitely return.

My friend and I went for a meal and had a fab tapas and 2 nice bottles of house rose. We were really looked after and the 3 people there were so friendly and had a good laugh. There were a couple there who are local and it was the women's birthday so they came out with a slice of cake and candle for her. Thank you to Taylor who is on the ball, Sophie who is really sweet and Zack who is a real sweetheart. Look forward to my next visit. Jayne (Kineton) Keep it local

My husband and I had a fab meal for my Birthday last night at El Cafe Kineton. We had the prawn in the sauce and Spanish Pepper with black pudding and manchego cheese from the tapas menu, OMG delicious. Followed by a steak cooked perfect as we asked. Patrick the chef came out to greet us all which we loved. The serving staff were so nice. It was full and had a great atmosphere and felt very safe. So lucky to have this gem on our door step.

Just excellent if you like tapas or a good meal this is spot on,All of the staff are great especially Lola! She absolutely lovely xxx

Just had a fantastic 50th birthday meal! Had the tapas selection which was great to share and thoroughly delicious. The staff were friendly and couldn’t do more to help. Can’t wait for the next meal!

My parents live locally so popped in for a pint and ordered a takeaway The takeaway tapas was top notch. We had 10 dishes between 3 of us - which was plenty - we polished it all off though but mainly because it was so delicious we could not leave it! Every dish was excellent - and also all travelled well on the 10 minute journey home. Will be back!

Ordered the Paella. Big mistake. 4 minute pieces of chicken and maybe half a dozen minute pieces of chorizo. It was sloppy and tasteless. Do not order this.

Just to say thank you Lola for the great food and service. We visited Last night for the second time and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We will be back for more 👍

Having visited and really enjoyed El Cafe in Shipston on Stour on several occasions we thought we would give the Kineton edition a try. I don’t write this with any pleasure but sadly we won’t be back any time soon. Granted it was a wet Tuesday just after lock down had been eased, and there were very few people dining but the place lacked any atmosphere. We went for two tapas dishes for starters which were up to par with what we had experienced back at the Shipston mothership. Regarding mains my partner’s monkfish tail was generous and moist although the garnish lacked any dressing. So far so good. However the pizza base garlic bread we ordered seemed to have little association with the aforementioned allium, as well as looking and tasting (the small amount we did) very undercooked. It was limp, anemic and very doughy - not good! My pork lion was also regrettably short on quality being extremely thin and overcooked to the point it was inedible. I accepted a replacement pork lion which was a lot better. The front of house staff reacted positively when we highlighted the shortcomings above, and we were offered rebates on my main, our shared garlic bread as well as a complementary sharing desert. I want this venture to succeed and hopefully this was just a bad night in the kitchen. However the apparent failure of such basic quality control which allowed the pork lion and garlic bread to leave the kitchen in the first place on what was a very slow night is a bit concerning.

On a miserable wet Wednesday afternoon we found some Spanish sunshine in the form of tapas at the White Swan. We ordered 3 plates which were preceeded by nuts and olives and came accompanied by assorted bread and salad - lovely. Thank you for putting some colour into a very grey day.
