The Kings Head - Vintage Inns in Stratford-on-Avon

We popped in on the way back from a hospital visit in Swindon. The King's Head was very busy but staff were fantastic. No room in restaurant but we had the menu and found a table in the bar. Food as always was piping hot and delicious. Staff friendly and courteous.

We were in the area and dropped in. The food was lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. We enjoyed it so much that we went there on the following day (Sunday) and the roast lamb was gorgeous. Thanks so much for 2 lovely meals

Unfortunately there was a mistake with my particular meal, whilst my companions received their food I had to wait another 10 minutes or so for my steak to be cooked. The front of house manager then said that they would give us 40% off the mains but I already had the voucher for that so there was in effect NO recompense for the late arrival of my order.

Venue was selected as a halfway meeting point for my friend and I. Service was lovely and timely, they appreciated we were meeting for a good catch up. The food selection was great, and meals and desserts very tasty.

Stopped by for a casual dinner at the end of the Easter bank holiday. We did not book, but fortunately our group of 5 could be accommodated. The food was tasty and met our expectations of a decent "chain pub", but it was the service from staff member Kirsty that stood out. Her service timing was excellent, anticipating our needs/requests so that the meal went smoothly. She also kept her section of the restaurant very presentable, promptly clearing away plates and wiping down so other diners did not have sightlines of dirty crockery or glassware. We will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Waitress staff were excellent. When I arrived I was left standing at the bar with no one to serve me. Ate in the dining room. Quality of my food was poor. Started with brie bites which were obviously bought in and not fresh. They were deep fried and overdone, making the brie wrapping too hard and not easy to cook. 3 bites and a small amount of water cress, did not constitute a worthwhile starter and did not justify the price. For main course I had lasagne. A small dish and tasteless, not worth the money, this was accompanied by a small bland container of salad. Not much thought put into this meal. Person dining with me had lasagne as well and thought the same. Felt like a pub meal! Nice setting, nice dining area, but food was bland and over priced. Indicative of many restaurants these days, who have jumped on the bandwagon of raising prices in the current social climate, but not putting much effort to provide an enjoyable and worthwhile experience. Can I also suggest that the pipes supplying the Timothy Taylor ale, are checked as the ale was not to the standard I have experienced from this brewery. This is a Vintage Inn resting on its laurels, happy to survive on its locals. Up your game please

As soon as I walked in my son who’s 16 wasn’t allowed a non alchoholic cocktail because it’s “misleading” Second I think a 30+ minute wait wasn’t worth the food we got Thirdly the 3 times cooked chips were undercooked somehow and not nice in general The salad was what seemed to be out of a bag at Tesco with a singular cherry tomato on the top We waited 10+ minutes for a drinks order and 20+ for a jug of water to arrive (I blame the bar though as the waitress was polite and seemed to be the only one in house) Additionally my mother was told that having NO toilet paper in the bathroom is not and issue and was ordered to the other toilet

Visited after a visit to the National Trust opposite. A tad noisy with young children but the staff were so smiley and friendly and the food was prepared quickly and perfectly and was really delicious and good value. Definitely recommend but if you're looking for a more peaceful meal maybe ask if they have a table away from very happy but noisy kids. Maybe management could keep one area round a corner for adults only? Anyway, thank you for a wonderful lunch.

Booked in for lunch on Easter Saturday with friends, lovely pub and restaurant with cozy corners and fireplaces. Food was great and our waitress Kirsty was excellent very attentive and sorted out an issue very quickly…would definitely return

Room comfortable though there are a lot of steps/stairs to consider if you are not able-bodied. The evening meal was excellent and our server Kirsty was extremely pleasant and helpful.

Sunday lunch was fantastic. Lots of different vegetables and roasted carrots and parsnips. Kirsty our waitress was very friendly and good at her job with a big smile 😀

The King's Head was recommended to us and it was not a disappointment. We stopped for Sunday lunch and to be honest it was brilliant. The service from Kirsty was top notch. It was a breath of fresh air to see someone switched on to the situation and had a very friendly approach. The food was delicious. I had the Garlic bread as a starter, followed by Hunters Chicken. To be honest it was a lot for me to tackle, but certainly very well cooked and presented. Keep the good work up team.

Popped in today for some lunch. Great food and the service from Kirsty was exceptional. She was friendly and really seemed to care about customer service.

We ordered the pizzas, weren’t expecting them to be quite as big as they were!. Lovely freshly made and definitely filling.

Treated for Mother’s Day by my family, food and service was really lovely and no washing up for me! My son is Lactose intolerant our server Ellie was very knowledgeable about the menu and his dietary needs. We shall be returning.

We’ve eaten here before and the food is always very tasty and of great quality. The staff, especially Clare, are always so warm and friendly and very efficient in all that they do. Can’t wait to go again.

Went for dinner with my wife on Wednesday evening. Her first trip out in 3 weeks after surgery. Everything was excellent. Food, service and the care and attention from Morgan our server were of the highest quality.

Just popped in for a coffee and a rest on a dog walk as it's dog friendly, haven't eaten there for a while but saw the couple next to us eating what looked like a very tasty meat pie, chips and vegetables.

Had a great experience at the pub. The experience was made even better by Mat Whitehouse, who served me during the afternoon. His dedication and professional manner, along with some entertaining conversation made itca pleasure. I'll definitely recommend the Kings Head to others.

As we are local, we come here quite often. Today was one of the better days. The food was outstanding (ended up having 3 courses) and the service was excellent. Our server Morgan, was calm, capable and always eager to help.

We visited The King's Head for Sunday lunch were pleasantly surprised by the great quality of the food. The turkey was beautifully tender and the vegetables were tasty and plentiful. We enjoyed it very much. Morgan, our waitress, has excellent customer service skills. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and despite being extremely busy, she was always on the ball, and did everything with a smile and a good sense of humour. We'll be back.

Tonights kitchen staff were top notch tonight. Burger, fried fish and pie cooked to perfection. Thanks to Callum, Przernek, and Jim. Nothing overcooked or dry. Really enjoyed the best fish and chips ever tonight and we come often. Wish they were on shift always. Lovely Ellie is constantly efficient, friendly and helpful , no matter how busy she is. Our first Vintage Inn for many years but we were very impressed and will go back to our old favourite White Lion in Coventry. Our meal here at the Kings Head, Wellesborne was excelent. As was the service by Ellie. Thank you very much.

We were one of two couples staying for the weekend. Our experience of the bar and evening meals were very good. However, the two cooked breakfasts that were ordered were far below the standard of the evening meals (Friday/Saturday) especially breakfast on Sunday 18th. I am sorry to say they looked so unappealing and mostly unappetising. The mushrooms were cold and hadn’t looked like they had been cooked at all, the bacon and sausages were pale and anemic looking. I am assuming the chefs on the evening service are not working at the breakfast service? The difference in the standard of cooking was immense. As I stated the evening meals were very good and all the bar staff/waitresses were attentive and friendly. The rooms were ok, the pillows a little lumpy and uncomfortable. Also the mirror above the coffee/breakfast tray is in the wrong place and cannot be used. It would be better placed over the table. I know there is a long mirror with sockets below but with no shelf/table to put things on it’s not ideal for drying of hair or putting on make up. These small adjustments would make a difference in the room. We had a good stay apart from the above points.

A good Sunday roast for a chain pub. What made the event special though was the fantastic service from our Waitress Morgan who looked after a superbly.

Like this pub very much. Take advantage of their special offers on food when we can. Four of us had lunch there with 50%off mains. All meals were good except my chicken Penang curry,the chicken was difficult to cut and tough to chew, I left most of the meat. The waitress said she would tell the kitchen,on talking to the manager she said that the chicken is grilled so it was as it should be. I won't order it again and I'm glad it wasn't full price- it would have been £17.75 , that's a lot of money for what it was. Lovely place though,will carry on taking our friends there- especially when the offers are on!!
