The Warwickshire Lad in Stratford-on-Avon

Miércoles 6 de noviembre de 2024 , Mi marido y yo salimos a almorzar con nuestra amiga Marie para celebrar su cumpleaños en ‘The Warwickshire Lad’ en Tanworth In Arden. Llegamos para las 12. 30 pm y se les mostró a una mesa muy agradable para tres en allí encantador restaurante, que era muy agradable. Nuestra camarera era Becky, era encantadora y amable y era profesional en todo lo que hizo por nosotros. Nos dieron menús para examinar y luego pedimos nuestra comida y bebidas. No nos molestamos con entrantes ya que todos nos habíamos estado guardando para el plato principal y el postre. La comida cuando llegó estaba muy caliente y muy bien presentado. Marie para su plato principal tenía lasaña de ternera servida con trozos de patatas fritas doradas y una ensalada lateral que disfrutó. Mi esposo hizo servir el pastel de Steak & Ale con papas fritas y guisantes, que dijo que estaba delicioso. Para mi plato principal tenía las tiras de pollo jamaiquino Jerk en una salsa de jengibre y crema servida con buñuelo de plátano y arroz silvestre, que estaba delicioso. Lavamos toda esta comida encantadora con una botella de vino tinto Merlot. Teníamos postres; Marie tenía el pudín de toffee pegajoso ‘Baileys’ servido con salsa de caramelo y palomitas de toffee, que dijo que estaba delicioso. Mi marido hizo servir el pastel de merengue de limón con crema doble, que dijo que era agradable. Tuve la tarta de queso ‘Baileys’ con crema doble, que estaba deliciosa y encantadora y ligera. Todos tomamos cafés después, Marie y yo tomamos un café licor ‘Grand Mariner’ y Mi esposo tomó un café negro. La factura de la comida era muy razonable. Siempre es un placer venir aquí la comida es excelente y el personal es amable, cálido y acogedor.

Tuve un problema para decidir qué pedir del menú, ya que todo en él se ve tan delicioso. Me salvé de tomar una decisión cuando llegó el menú "Especiales". Éste contenía filete de fletán con puré de papas, brócoli, queso de coliflor y también maricas con papas fritas y guisantes. Así que elegí el fletán para comer ahora, y los maricones para llevar. Ha pasado mucho tiempo desde que he visto filete de fletán, en un menú, y estaba cocinado a la perfección, al igual que las patatas, el brócoli y una gran cantidad de queso de coliflor. Los maricas también fueron excepcionales, con una enorme cantidad de fichas, de nuevo, absolutamente perfecto. No pude resistir el pudín negro rebozado como entrada. De nuevo, soberbio. El servicio fue realmente una alegría, "Katie" no podía hacer lo suficiente para hacer la comida lo más agradable posible, incluso proporcionando un tazón de agua para mi perro. Además, también hay una zona vallada junto al aparcamiento, por lo que si tienes un perro, (que son welome en el bar), es un lugar seguro para ejercitarlo. En resumen, esta fue la mejor comida que he tenido en mucho tiempo, y volveré a visitar tan pronto como pueda.

Celebramos nuestro aniversario de boda con almuerzo en el Warwickshire Lad, el personal era amable y eficiente. La comida era excelente y un ambiente muy agradable, Buen aparcamiento, pero el acceso Gents es un poco difícil para las personas con problemas de movilidad. Aun así, hemos reservado otro almuerzo con amigos y con muchas ganas de volver.

Comida de 18 años de las hijas. Qué lugar encantador la comida aquí era fantástico 1 vez en la calle cualquiera en nuestra fiesta había estado y todo el mundo realmente disfrutó de la comida fantástica presentación y sabía hermoso todo el mundo tgat cae comentó lo mucho que disfrutaron de la comida allí. El personal era excelente y nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos. Muchas gracias al chef y al personal

1st time visiting. We were in the area having visited Packwood House. Would highly recomend a visit if you are in the area. Lovely menu, great service 🙂

Sunday 16th June 2024, we went out for Sunday lunch with Susan, Maureen and her new man friend Barry to celebrate my Birthday at ‘The Warwickshire Lad’ in Tanworth in Arden. We arrived for 2.00pm and were shown to a very nice table for five in there lovely restaurant, which was really nice. Our waiter and waitress’s were lovely and friendly and they were professional in everything they did for us. We were given menus to peruse and then we ordered our food and drinks. We had starters; Maureen and Barry did not bother with a starter. Susan and I shared breaded mushrooms with a garlic dip. My husband had deep fried Panko king prawns with a mango, chilli and lime dip, which he said was very nice. The food when it arrived was very hot and very well presented. We had main courses; My husband and Susan had the Confit of Duck served with a dark rum, black cherry and rosemary sauce and served with creamed mash potatoes and broccoli spears, which they said was delicious. I had the Jamaican chicken in a garlic and ginger sauce served with banana fritters and golden chunky chips, which was delicious. Maureen had a Caesar salad. Barry had a bacon and cheddar steak burger with chips. We washed all this lovely food down with two double ‘Gordon’s’ large gin and tonic’s for Susan. Maureen had two glasses of Merlot red wine. I had a large glass of Chardonnay white wine. My husband had one pint of ‘The Lad Next Door’ bitter and a pint of ‘Ghostship’ bitter and Barry had a pint of ‘Tribute’ bitter and a pint of ‘Guiness’. Barry and I did not bother with a dessert as we were all well fed. Maureen had strawberry and white chocolate ice cream. My husband and Susan had the apple pie served with hot creamy custard, which they said was delicious. Afterwards, I had a Contreau liquored coffee and my husband and Maureen both had a black coffee. This left us all very well fed and contented. It is always wonderful dining here and the staff are so friendly.

Popped in on the way back from a friends house. Never been in there before. Food was spot on , lovely friendly staff. Clean and tidy. Recommend to anyone. If it wasn't so far from my house I would use again ....thanks guys

11 of us went for my 75th birthday lunch yesterday Sunday 5th May. The food was fantastic , we all had main course and desserts, so there was a wide range of food ordered and everyone enjoyed what they chose, I chose the Seabass and it was cooked to perfection. The staff were lovely and very friendly, the meals were delivered quickly and efficiently considering it was a bank holiday and they were very busy. We all said we will be going back again and we would recommend it to anyone. Thank you to the staff and chefs for making my special birthday meal a lovely day to remember.

Overall good experience. Food was nice with big portions. Our lovely waitress Beatrice was very helpful and attentive (never got to say thank you). Would come back again. Only downside was struggling to park as it was busy.

Great place to eat. Never disappoints.

Food was fabulous. A good range of choices, but not so much for the Vegetarians in our party. Do try the Ale made on the premises. You'll need to ask, as it's not shown on the menu. We didn't get to a dessert. We were stuffed, also reports of the Lemon meringue is that it is so large it could be shared.

Great little pub, still has the charm and character Vs some of the other places in the area. My fav pub when I'm in town.

Sunday lunches were spot on as were all the dishes. Conor and his staff were on point and very accommodating. Our party of 8 and 2 toddlers had a great time, thank you to all.

We had a lovely Mother's day meal. Roast Turkey was delicious, plenty of veg and gravy. Staff extremely helpful.

We came here to have a Valentines lunch. We were greeted warmly by staff. We hadn't booked ahead of time, but Bettie our server accommodated Us very quickly. I had the beers Battered Black Pudding, with salad and Sweet Chilli Sauce. Followed by the Black and Blue Burger, with homemade Slaw and chunky chips. My partner had Breaded Mushrooms with Garlic Mayo, followed by Lambs Liver and Bacon, with Peas and Pea shoots. The food was cooked beautifully and all the staff were friendly and chatty. We'll be coming back to try something else from the menu.

Generally excellent, great beers and good value pub grub with a few extra twists.....only 2 complaints were frozen (we think) roasties on the Sunday roast and more annoying the "optional" service charge of 10% added to the bill....personally I'd rather they increase their prices if Ness so we know where we stand up front. Overall it didn't spoil a lovely 5 mile walk👍

Sunday 21st January 2024, we went out for Sunday lunch with Susan, Maureen and Barry to celebrate my husband’s forthcoming Birthday at ‘The Warwickshire Lad’ in Earlswood. We arrived for 2.00pm and were shown to a very nice table for five in there lovely restaurant, which was really nice. Our waitress was Beatrice, she was lovely and friendly and she was professional in everything she did for us. We were given menus to peruse and then we ordered our food and drinks. We had starters; Susan and I shared breaded mushrooms with a garlic dip. Maureen and Barry shared breaded mushrooms with a garlic dip. My husband did not have a starter as he was saving himself for the main course. The food when it arrived was very hot and very well presented. Maureen for her main course had scampi served with salad, peas and tartar sauce. Barry had ‘The Lad’ burger served with chips. My husband and Susan had the Comfit of Duck with a dark rum and black cherry sauce served with mashed potatoes and broccoli spears. For my main course I had the Beef Stroganoff served with rice and sautéed potatoes, which was delicious. We washed all this lovely food down with two Pinio Grigio and tonic for Susan. Maureen had two glasses of Merlot red wine. I had a large glass of Rose wine, My husband had two pints of ‘IPA’ bitter and Barry had two pints of larger. We had desserts; Maureen had the lemon drizzle meringue cloud. Susan and my husband had the apple pie served with hot creamy custard. I had the key lime cheesecake with cream, which was delicious. Barry did not bother with a sweet as he was quite full. We all had coffees afterwards. We all left very contented. The bill for the five of us was reasonable.

Fantastic place it go and eat. Reasonable prices and great value for what you get. Have never had a poor meal here and would highly recommend.

Very nice pub / resteraunt popped in for dinner both of us had fish and chips. Place soon filled up so probably a good idea to book a table. Nice atmosphere very Christmassy. Planning on going back for evening meal. Very good menu.

Fifteen of us came to the Warwickshire Lad for lunch. Great atmosphere, fabulous food and wonderful service. The food was well presented, piping hot, generous in quantity and reasonably priced. The young lady serving us was stunningly good; totally unflappable serving fifteen meals and drinks impeccably with great good humour. We will be back soon.

Beautiful pub with gorgeous food. Arrived without booking and the waiters offered us a table on the decking located in a ‘pod’. Lovely little seating area. Staff were regularly checking that we were ok and well supplied with drinks. I will be recommending this pub to friends and family.

Dropped in on the off chance they could accommodate 3 for Sunday lunch. Friendly welcome from staff. Nice atmosphere. Appeared clean and modern. Lovely food that was fresh and well cooked. Happily accommodate my request for Gluten Free options as I'm a Ceoliac without compromising on variety or taste. Will definitely be returning again and recommending to friends and family.

Jerk Chicken - chicken very dry, very little taste. Bun - very dry. Slaw - almost all onions.

This country pub has everything you want from a pub. Fantastic varied menu and very well priced, great service and cute wooden huts to sit in in the large beer garden. The jerk burger had a super tasty pretzel bun and the two wedges of brie made it 10/10. The chicken was tender and juicy, the chunky chips were perfectly crispy and the slaw was extra creamy. 100% recommend- cannot wait to go back to try some bao buns!

At the completion of a walk with a friend we decided to reward our efforts by having a drink at this pub. This was my first visit and I found the staff to be friendly and was quite happy to discuss the various beers that they have on tap. I part enjoyed my pint of 'Pluck it" beer Will certainly be making a return visit.

Poor service wrong meal delivered and delays ! Previously we had a great experience here but the service on our last two visits has been negative! ! We won’t be recommending u guys and time soon up your game it’s a shame ! We used to love it !

Lovely country pub with a reasonably priced menu for dinner including a tasty selection of pizzas and, and wait for it liver and bacon on mash and peas- to die for. Staff were friendly with a good sense of humour. Three local real ales . Will be coming back.

I believe that this pub has changed hands a few times over the years, and this was my first visit since it last did - certainly won’t be the last as it was excellent. Decent beers, great service and a menu with a lot of unusual choices alongside the regular favourites. Quantity and quality both top notch - can’t speak for the desserts as we had a starter and then had to leave some of the mains

We pop in occasionally but haven't been for a while. Decided to eat here en route and the food was delicious as always. I have food intolerances, I was v impressed, with the attention to this aspect. I had the ceasar salad, my hubby had the burger & my Mum had the scampi but with new potatoes. The service was a little slow, but the food was worth the delay. Definitely will be back!

Sunday 25th June 2023, we went out for Sunday lunch with Susan, Maureen and her new man friend from Oxford Barry to celebrate my Belated Birthday at ‘The Warwickshire Lad’ in Tanworth In Arden. We arrived for 3.00pm and were shown to a very nice table for five in there lovely restaurant, which was really nice. Our waitress was Kate, she was lovely and friendly and she was professional in everything she did for us. We were given menus to peruse and then we ordered our food and drinks. We had starters; Susan had a lamb kofta stick with mint yoghurt dressing. I had the breaded mushrooms with a garlic dip. My husband had a risotto stick with a tomato dressing. Maureen had a brie stick with cranberry sauce. Barry had two jerk chicken sticks with a pripri dressing. The food when it arrived was very hot and very well presented. We had main courses; Susan had a chicken, bacon and stilton salad. I had the vegetarian tomato and pepper tart with salad and new potatoes. My husband had roast duck with a black cherry sauce. Maureen had scampi and salad. Barry had a jerk chicken burger with chips. We washed all this lovely food down with two Pinio Grigio and tonic for Susan. Maureen had two glasses of Merlot red wine. I had a two large glasses of rose wine. My husband had two pints of ‘Blonde’ bitter and Barry had two glasses of lemon and lime. Maureen, Barry and I did not bother with a dessert as we were all well fed. My husband and Susan had the apple pie served with hot creamy custard, which they said was delicious. We did not bother with teas or coffees afterwards as we were all very contented. This is a lovely place to come the food is always excellent and the staff are friendly and very professional.

Went here for my husbands birthday meal we sat in the garden as it was a hot day on a picnic table we had a baby with us and their were no umbrellas for shade so sat the baby in the shade of the hedge We ordered our meals with which I had the fish and chips when everyone’s meal arrived mine had only a small amount of chips under the fish (everyone else had an average size )I asked the server for some more so she went in to ask and came back and said that’s the portion size and if I wanted any more I would have to pay I thought that was a terrible response the chef or owner didn’t even bother to come and look how many I had I think you should get value for money but I certainly didn’t But they lost out because we were going to order desserts and coffee but didn’t bother

Called in on the off chance whilst working in the area, very busy but was fitted in luckily. Great food & nice staff in a lovely pub, on the list for another visit shortly

Sunday 7th May 2023, My husband and I went to Brandwood End Cemetery to put deep cerise pink roses on my father's grave in honour of his birthday. Afterwards, my husband and I went out for lunch at ‘The Warwickshire Lad’ in Tanworth-In-Arden, where we raised a toast in honour of my Dad and gave thanks for all the love and care he shared with us over his lifetime. We arrived for 3.00 pm and was shown to a very nice table for two in there lovely restaurant. Our waiter's were Tristan and Tom, they was lovely and friendly and they were professional in everything they did for us. We were given menus to peruse and then we ordered our food and drinks. We did not bother with any starters as we were saving ourselves for the main course. The food when it arrived was very hot and very well presented. My husband had the Sunday Roast Beef dinner with Yorkshire pudding and horseradish sauce and served with roast potatoes and roast parsnips and a nice selection of vegetables (carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage) and a jug of thick gravy. For my main course I had the Sunday Roast Pork dinner with crispy crackling, sage & onion stuffing and apple sauce served with roast potatoes and roast parsnips and a nice selection of vegetables (carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage) and a jug of thick gravy. We washed all this lovely food down with a large glass of Chardonnay Spritzer for me and two pints of ‘Pluck It’ bitter for my husband. We both had desserts; I had the ‘Chocolate Toffee Meringue’ served with cream and strawberries. My husband had the ‘Jaffa Cake’ chocolate gateaux served with vanilla ice cream, which he said was delicious. We did not bother with tea or coffee afterwards, as we were both contented and well fed. If you want a wonderful place with good food and lovely staff then this is the place to visit if you are in the area.

One of our favourite places to eat. The staff are amazing, friendly and cannot do enough to make your meal perfect. Fantastic homemade food. Never had a bad meal here.

We arrived at 1 .30 today five of us loads of empty tables refused to put a chair on the end of a table of four even though it wouldn't be in the waitresses way very unhelpfull right from the very beginning staff didn't seem at all happy told us to sit outside in a pod which was very tight shame as the menu looked good very disappointed to lose about £100 pounds of business due to not moving one chair seems daft not once did the two girls try anything to help quite happy for us to make all the suggestions and have a displeased look and say no unbelievable ken miller

Popped in with no reservation and were fortunate enough to get a table. Staff were friendly , patient , helpful and efficient. All members of the party thoroughly enjoyed their respective dishes - 2 of the best (enormous!) fish and chips , liver & onions and a fantastic home made lasagne. Portions were very generous and quality was excellent. All at reasonable prices. Coffee was very good too. Will definitely be our pub of choice when we are next in the area visiting relatives.

Lovely food, welcoming staff, prompt service.

Came for my sons 21st birthday with his grandparents my wife and his brother. We had a 3 course meal and no joke every last morsel was delicious. The starters were superb main delightful and puddings to die for. The waitress was so nice getting the food out piping hot. Washing it down with banks bitter what a great little restaurant and pub it really is. Recommend it 💯. We will be back.

Will not use the Warwickshire Lad again , could not enjoy a quite drink with friends ,with out dogs roaming around the bar area .

Lovely food but spoiled with how busy restaurant and table right by the door. We were a group of 8 but the table was right by door and greeting desk so as people que and prop door open we had full blast of cold air. We booked for Sunday lunch only to be told just two left. Two of the group requested non alcoholic lager, told only one left then advised non left? As I say lovely food but table not location not good.

Lovely bar, with a good selection on real ales! Very dog friendly as well, will use again soon

My husband and I just fancied an evening meal out. I had been to this pub for lunch with a group of friends recently and thought the menu looked quite promising for my husband who is coeliac. Not being able to have the chips the waiter suggested the new potatoes could be sautéed In a separate pan. This was more than acceptable. The quality of the food (chcken wings, brie wedge, steak and pork stack) was excellent and well presented. The staff very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

Customer service was excellent and the food was the best we have had in a pub. Very highly recommended if you are in the area.

Celebrated our Diamond Aniversary with a family party of 20 people . Everyone said the food was excellent and the staff were absolutely lovely. It couldn't have been any better. We will most certainly have any future family celebrations there.
