The best restaurants in Stratford-on-Avon West Midlands

Before we were in Stratford I looked up a couple of pubs/eateries and booked them prior to going. I had actually looked up the Salmon tail and the Tripadviser reviews looked promising so having a stroll round Stratford one evening we found ourselves outside the S.T. and decided to call in for a drink!!! As we walked through the car park to the rear of the pub this fear of foreboding and trepidation swept over me and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up, and the closer I got the worse it got but we went inside anyway hoping to be totally wrong and end up being pleasantly surprised. I think we were in there for at least forty seconds before we did an about turn . I re -checked the Tripadviser reviews on returning home to find those reviews are at least a year old. All I will say is if your visiting Stratford upon Avon for the first time and you are thinking of paying a visit to the Salmon tail. {like we did}........ THEN DON'T!

Food is hot but not that good keep your money in your pocket 😔

This Pub has everything, great location, great premises, good staff. But the food is poor. I had to return the meal and did not ask for another. My wife had to return hers as the food was dry and overcooked, the returned meal was not much better. We were very disappointed. This is the third time of disappointment as we returned each time to see if things had improved but not so! No senior staff got involved or seemed interested. The staff must know there is a problem as upon complaining they stated that a new chef had been poached from another restaurant and would be starting in a few months? we will not be going back.

The worst chicken and bacon salad I have ever had. It looked like it was thrown together. Chicken wasn’t even cut up no fork given to eat it with either. Will definitely not be ordering that again.

Probablemente la mejor experiencia gastronómica para muchos meses. Gran bienvenida, gran personal, gran comida, gran ambiente. La comida especialmente era muy creativo y bien presentado con una amplia selección. Esperamos con interés la próxima visita.

If you expect some sort of customer service or want them to take care of your ALLERGY REQUIREMENTS, never go to Domino's PIZZA. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR ALLERGIES/ FOOD TOLERANCE. Today, around 6:30pm, I ordered a pizza from Domino's @ Stratford Upon Avon, I had the worst customer service from a very rude guy who served me. He had an attitude, was unpresent, and used foul language. Plus, he was talking in his own language very rudely. It all started when I was mentioning about allergy requirements. My daughter, who is 9 years old, has severe allergies to beef and pork. Therefore, I asked them to take care of my order and do a pizza with some vegetables and chicken. He went mad at me and asked me to hurry up and order, but he didn't answer me about my allergy requirements. Then I ordered a vegetarian pizza with chicken. He did not informed or make notes about my requirements regarding allergies to the staff , and he did not communicate with pizza makers. I was overlooking how they made the pizza, and I could clearly see that contamination had occurred, and they didn't pay any attention to allergies. In the end, I didn't let my daughter touch that pizza. I was very disappointed with their service, and I was really surprised to see a person with a bad attitude working and destroying a good brand name. Also, it's so funny to see them talking in their own language insultingly in front of customers. Domino's should invest in training, specifically allergy awareness and customer service. I am very disappointed, and I request everyone not to go there when there are so many other options. Definitely, they don't know how to take care of allergies, and there is NO customer service in the so-called DOMINO'S.

16 of us sat down to have a Xmas meal. To our delight the tables were made very nice and in a festive manner. The food when served was piping hot, and absolutely delicious, as with the starters and deserts. James and Nang did us extremely proud. I urge anyone contemplating giving them a visit, go ahead have a meal, l assure you, you will not be disappointed Well worth visiting, looking forward to the next one.

We stayed at the hotel and booked the restaurant without much thought, given the location was perfect after a day of travel. The menu, as, seemingly, with all of Stratford, is heavily plagued with green oil and saffron sauce for the fish. On a separate point, I would centralise the menu, as I never quite understood the mix of pub classics with much more refined offerings. The starters should have been fairly tame, but honestly, tomatoes for £8 and a disturbing crab tartlet that texturally and aroma-wise presented itself as cat food, both with the green oil, were not the best beginning. For the mains, I went for the fish and chips (£19), which ended up being the highlight (store-bought tartar sauce notwithstanding) and my partner went for the hake with the saffron sauce. To be honest, by the speed with which our waiter replaced the hake, I'm guessing the original dish was grabbed off the pass without checking as I thought the fish tasted stale at best. On a side note, seems the bar is not fully stocked at the moment, as all the wine that we wanted initially was not available. The lovely maitre d suggested something very drinkable instead. Overall, having now read previous reviews (oh, the naiveté of youth), it seems the restaurant was never a strong point of this hotel and I implore the new management to improve this as fast as they can.

Dietary requirements covered with ease. Very welcoming and attentive but not overly.

Not very good TBF. Ordered a vegetable spring roll and got a beansprout spring roll and also ordered chicken with green peppers in a black bean sauce which was very bland and no peppers just bland sauce. Chinese roast pork fried rice was stodgy and the pork was not roast pork. All in all very disappointed, we live not too far away from here too and will have to find an alternative.

very good covid precautions taken had jacket pots and prawns perfect the coffee was great and the staff very good had food and drinks for 2 under £10 which is very cheap for the amount of food we had will call again when in Southam

Came over when stopping in SuA for a lovely Valentine's stay over. Was a close walk from our hotel. Food was lovely. Not cheap, but lovely.

Un grupo de nosotros visitó The Limes ayer por la noche para una celebración de cumpleaños. Es un lugar encantador, pero lamentablemente decepcionado por el espantoso servicio. Solo parecía haber dos miembros del personal esperando en el comedor, uno era totalmente inexperto y no tenía ni idea (no es su culpa si no había sido entrenado) y como consecuencia el otro se precipitó de sus pies. Problemas que experimentamos, incluyendo un servicio muy lento, el nuevo miembro del personal no sabe qué bebidas venden, qué medidas para venderlos o cómo trabajar la "labranza" en el bar. Luego, cuando los platos principales llegaron finalmente, uno de nuestros huéspedes fue servido con verduras en su plato que todavía estaban congelados sólidos! (¿Me hizo preguntarme qué tan bien se había "cocinado" todo lo demás?) Esa comida fue finalmente reemplazada después de que otros en el grupo ya habían terminado la suya, y luego mientras la invitada todavía estaba comiendo su comida reemplazada, el personal comenzó a limpiar la mesa y quitó los platos de todos los demás - muy mala etiqueta que dio la impresión de que solo querían deshacerse de nosotros, así que no nos quedamos mucho más tiempo! Dicho todo esto, los precios eran razonables, y mi propia comida (bacalao con patatas fritas) era bastante buena, pero no volveré.
