The best restaurants in Staffordshire Moorlands West Midlands

My husband and I ate here on a Wednesday night. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The pub itself was a bit cold and there were several items off the menu however I had fish and chips and he had pie of the week. Both were well presented and absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back.

Totally disgraceful took the delivery driver ages to find us person on the phone had given him wrong details. Food arrived cold and overcooked. 1 full meal was also missing. Will never go here again! Deliver driver also started getting rude

We really enjoy visiting Den Engel after new owners took over a couple of years ago. There is a wider selection of drinks and the bar has had a wonderful make over which looks fantastic. We particularly enjoy sitting outside during warmer weather. Most of the staff and the manager are very welcoming. We did try to visit one evening after a meal in a local restaurant but were told under 18s are not allowed after 8pm. Fair enough, we didn't realise, but the member of staff was very abrupt when telling us (asking our 14 year old for ID when she could have just said she wasn't allowed in), but maybe she'd just had a bad shift?

Honestly such a nice play to get some food from every piece of food we have had has been so good! Highly recommend if in the area

The best curry in Stoke. Been going since this place opened and it is by far the best curry I’ve had in Stoke or anywhere close. Never had a bad meal sitting in or as a takeaway

If being White British was a food, it would be that sad excuse for creamy pasta, void of any flavour - it was as if someone just decided to cough flem up and mix some pasta in with it. The pizza was ok and for £21 the staff could atleast fake a smile.

We arrived for 1.30pm sitting and were shown to our table, drinks ordered and came promptly. Our order was taken within a few minutes, one 10oz Steak meal and a Vegetarian Pie, with Sweet Potato Fries and Mediterranean Vegetables. Food arrived about 30 mins after, Steak meal was good, my meal, my first thought was the vegetables were not as per menu and were over cooked, never gave it another thought until I cut into the pie and discovered it was Fish (Salmon) ! I was given the wrong meal. I spoke to the waiter and told him this is the wrong meal, he said, its what you ordered, I said NO, I am vegetarian and this is Fish, I ordered a Vegetable Pie. He apologised, said it will be 4 mins, and took away the wrong meal. When the correct meal arrived, the Sweet Potato Fries and Mediterranean Vegetables were over cooked. I ate most of the meal and then the desert that followed. I was very upset and didn't mention to staff about a 'hair' I found in the pie, I left that section of pie on the plate. A general observation, our table was sticky, not been wiped clean properly. The waiter offered a free drink, but charged me in full for my meal. Will not be revisiting.

Poor meal,overcooked and dry chicken,supposed to be filled with brie but it was so overcooked the cheese had all but disappeared! Roast potatoes were rock hard and veg was tasteless! Certainly cant recommend eating at this place.On a lighter note the pub was nice and warm and the staff quite good.

Chips tasted like they had been reheated several times, sausage wasn’t cooked!!! Man very rude, and lady serving needed to wash her hands!!!! Short changed us too! Will defo not be going back

Fast service arrived within the hour, nice hot food delivered, what more could you ask for

I ordered traditional breakfast and my partner ordered large breakfast, his food arrived after 15 minutes and I waited over an hour to get my food. I alerted situation to the friendly guy that took my order and I requested a fried tomato for compensation which I didn’t even get. What an appalling level of service with a weak apology from waitress.
