It was 'ok'. The best bits were the gimmick of the food being delivered from above, my daughter's mocktail and the smiler burger. But were far outweighed by some staff who were clearly rushed off their feet, waiting 10 minutes for 1 party's food while everything else was there, having to use a qr code to access the menu and order, not having enough cutlery... My 12 year old and 16 year old enjoyed the experience but it doesn't represent value for money in my opinion and really lacking any quality customer service.

This restaurant is definitely a gimmick I'm glad we came but I don't think we'd come back. The food got stuck on the rollercoaster multiple times. At one point we were getting sprite sent to us with every order and we didn't know why. We shared them out with the other guests. The food was really good and we thought enjoyed it. Had this been a normal waited table we would come back but as the whole point of the restaurant is the rollercoaster it was a bit of a running joke. Thank god for the telescopic pole used to get out brilliant food to us

Concept of restaurant great. Was better when ipads were allocated to tables. Had to order via QR code and struggled with the Internet. No paper menus for this issue. Waiter had to them take the order on paper for us to walk to the till and go through it all again. Condiments and cutlery not stocked on table. One of the orders came wrong. Food average. Pudding terrible. Would not return again.

Wow... We had high hopes. The place could be incredible. But sadly, it's nothing but a gimmick as the food is shockingly bad. My son had a chicken burger which looked like it had been on a coaster when cut arrived Mine turned up 10 minutes later when he was finishing and I had the 'nemesis reborn ' burger. The lettuce was brown around the edges. My burger was cold and had a nasty texture. I really would have asked for a refund, but wanted to get on with our day.

We had a lovely dining experience here on my daughter's birthday celebration. We ordered the birthday cake and teddy that made my daughter so happy. It was also fun when everyone's singing whenever the birthday song is played. We also ordered 4 mains for adults and 1 kids menu. The food is okay, portion is big, taste is acceptable. We were happy as we didn't expect a michelin star food quality, we were there for the experience and a decent tasting food. Server Iffy gave an outstanding service and made sure we had the best time.

Such a great concept for a restaurant with cool theming including the rides in the park. We ordered a cappuccino and a corona and it took 15 minutes to arrive to the table, was understandable as they were quite busy but the 45 minute food wait wasn’t. When we arrived to the restaurant the lady seating people to their tables told us the food would only take 20 minutes. Chips were cold and the lettuce in my burger looked like it had been sat underneath the hot light for the whole 45 minutes. My boyfriend ordered the smiler burger, looks so cool with the charcoal smiler face but had the weirdest smell. The food wait was longer than the queue was for smiler, at least the smiler was worth it.

Honestly the worst food I've eaten in a long time. First meal I ordered was a chicken breast burger, I asked befor ordering if it was a breast or that ground up mix some places use. Told was a breast. It wasn't. It was a dry slab of breaded nugget at best. Asked for a replacement meal after a bite. Simple cheeseburger instead. It came very fast, but unfortunately was worse than the attempted chicken "breast". Akin to chewing on rubbery plastic. Staff on the floor were great with the issue/s. But the food, such a let down. Great atmosphere and customer service, just let down so much on the food. Left without having any real meal and ate some crisps and biscuits instead because we'll, nothing else open nearby

My family have been big fans of the rollercoaster restaurant for years. We've been more or less every year since it opened, most recently in July 2024. The theme is great fun and the atmosphere is perfect for a theme park. That said, the experience has got worse every single year. This year my daughter commented that she could have got her dinner (Wicker Man chicken and waffles) from her underfunded state school canteen for £3.50. At the rollercoaster restaurant it was £17.45. And I mean the exact same food: same nuggets, same waffle... Identical. Obviously I'm not expecting to pay the same, but if I'm spending the best part of £20 per head on mains, I want something better than school canteen food! Don't get me started on the price of drinks. A second round would have meant arranging a second mortgage! They should provide a financial advisor to help customers with the drinks menu. I think Merlin have outsourced all catering at Alton Towers to a company called Aramark, who according to their website specialise in hospital and college catering amongst other things. This has not gone well. Quality has nose dived across the park - but it's worst at the rollercoaster restaurant. In the end we spent over £150 to feed a family of four with reheated frozen grot, delivered on an overhead track. I'm genuinely sad to say, we won't be back. When we return to Alton Towers, we'll be taking a packed lunch or heading off in the car for a pub dinner.

Very disappointed, first of all we had no cutlery, so asked a member of staff twice for some. They asked what we wanted and didn't understand the term cutlery, so said knives and forks, with which the waitress just wondered around aimlessly and didn't return to our table, my daughter had to then get some from another empty table. My starter didn't arrive and after asking the same waiter twice and being advised he will follow up with the kitchen nothing arrived, so when I approached him for a third time he appeared shocked, so asked for the manager and requested a refund for the starter which begrudgingly gave me the cash back. Food was very poor and didn't come with the extras I had paid for, with the curly fries undercooked. After this experience next time we visit will look for an eatery outside of the main park.

Staying at the resort food options are limited and the recommendation is to book ahead. First evening we went here. First impressions were a smoky restaurant, and what seems to be the lack of customer engagement / real interest with food ordering via an app. The menu was very limited in any nutritional value and variety in general When you have finished your order, you then wait to watch your food being delivered inside metallic bowls strapped onto mini food trucks on rails. This novelty was interesting for about 5 minutes. . When the food did arrive, it had the look and taste of budget supermarket food that wasn’t cooked or presented very well. Deep fried and / or microwaved by the looks of things. Rice and chicken goujons were exceptionally poor. Macaroni cheese beyond poor. Chips poor - actually smelled funny. 3 cheese selection poor. All very poor. I declined to order anything from the adult mains as it was north of £15 and based on what I saw the kids eat thought better. Looking ahead, things can only get better (I hope).

What a shocker of an evening. We have visited The rollercoaster restaurant at least 5 times since it first opened, probably more so felt safe in booking it for this trip to the resort after a 3 year break.. Boy, what a mistake! Food is clearly microwaved to within an inch of its life so made some of the food so hard that it was impossible to chew, meals came out on the track without numbers and sometimes receipts so we all had to open strangers food to check as they did to us which is not the customers fault .. Many items got stuck on the track so had to wait for that, meals didn’t come out with their sides so we were waiting more than eating. We complained about the poor food after our starters and because we had eaten 2 of the 4 un overcooked bits of chicken Kofta we were not entitled to a refund! After my husband spoke to the manager they said we could have a dessert free which we weren’t really interested in at this point, to be told 20 mins after we had ordered these that one was out of stock and my cheesecake had still not even arrived so after this we just walked out. Absolute shambles and we will warn anyone against eating here, it’s not even worth it for the novelty ..

The atmosphere is nice and it entertains before and during the meal but the food quality is very very poor. I wasn't expecting much of the place because it's a restaurant in a theme park but even though the bar was so low, they managed to go lower. I was charged 98 pounds only for the food, not counting drinks here. We got two kids meals, and two adult ones. No starters at the beginning but I was still hungry at the end so I decided to order a starter/side of cauliflower wings and it's actually hilarious what I got. We laughed for a good few minutes so I have to give them that at least. It was a connection with my family where even my 1.5 year old laughed as we couldn't stop laughing. I'm adding a photo I took comparing one of the few wings I got with a single piece of sweet corn. I also got chicken breasts in a "ketchup" kind of sauce. It was very sweet, very hard to process everything but I was starving so I couldn't care much about it. The kids meals were ok, I mean, they got chicken nuggets and falafel so it's hard to mess up with that. I'm glad we went because it's still a funny experience. It was like a comedy movie. I saw food getting stuck in the rails and the staff moving it with a stick. I hope they get their own tv show. It would be a good combination of drama and comedy.

Absolutely loved our visit! We booked a table for our family to visit the restaurant whilst we were staying at the park. On reading the reviews, we came with very low expectations. Well, we absolutely loved it!! The food was exceptional, staff friendly and atmosphere amazing! The meal I wanted from the menu was unavailable but a member of staff came to advise me of this within a few minutes of ordering and I was offered an alternative. I really don't understand the bad reviews. The prices were as you'd expect in a theme park, portion sizes good and food full of flavour. Our kids absolutely loved it, as did we. We had the Nemasis Reborn Burgers and the Salmon with rice. Followed by Chocolate brownies and waffles. Have to admit the birthday tune being played every time someone ordered the brownie was a little irritating after the 15th time 🤣 We would definitely recommend a visit and will be returning again!.

So Alton Towers doesn't have the best of food. However, Rollercoaster restaurant and the food from Nemesis chicken (generator- refueling company) are the exception as far as I'm aware (milkshake and cookies outside curse were pretty nommy too) The burger isn't the best I've ever had but still very tasty. The cajun chips were enjoyable, but maybe a bit too seasoned for my liking. But the best part of the restaurant is the food delivery system, the Rollercoaster! The engineering is a work of art (not an engineer) and very entertaining to watch. It's a whole vibe and made me feel like a kid inside. The music was loud but not overbearing, the brightness was dark but a comfortable dim, and it was a bit smokey from a smoke machine, adding to the vibe. Entering the restaurant was quite an experience, I felt like I was going into a club on a Saturday night. The room was dark and the music was really loud. We were quickly shown to our table and the ordering system was explained. Basically you order everything from your phone via an app. Plates, cutlery and condiments are on a shelf that spins around a large pillar, next to your table. Then your food is delivered via roller coaster rails above your head and down to your table in plastic containers which you empty onto your plate. This means the food is cold by the time you are able to eat it. Prices are expensive for what you get, but this is usual in these places. If you order the fudge cake which is listed a a birthday slice, you receive a small teddy with it and happy birthday song is played in the room and staff stand and clap along. This is a nice touch if it’s your birthday but it does happen several times throughout your time there. The chicken burger was very disappointing. The bun was dry and the salad was slimy. So not the best choice. The vegetarian curry was edible but cold. I would try somewhere else next time but wouldn’t say I won’t return to this one at some point

The food we ordered (x2 adult mains and starters and x2 kids mains and starters) came promptly after ordering, arrived hot and in one piece 🎢🍔. Food price were very reasonable around similar prices to your local pub however alcoholic drinks were not reasonably priced with a pint of Stella at £8.50 and bottle of Corona at £6.50, soft drinks in a glass bottle (coke cola) at £3.50 which I guess is probably your average price to pay when eating out. Booking is definitely essential as a family in front of us got turned away due to not booking in advance as they were fully booked up that day (Saturday). Although the atmosphere is great with the food being delivered, staff being great and the two projectors showing theme park ride short videos and birthday announcements it is definitely a noisy atmosphere or at least it was on a Saturday evening unsure if they have quieter days for people with sensory needs.

With the place only 1/3rd full I'd have expected much better service. Food to be fair is better than average, luke warm, but tasty. 25 minutes from Ordering for our side dishes to arrive, then 10 minutes later the drinks. Another 10 minutes for two mains to arrive, and the final 2 mains arrived 30 minutes after the side dishes. Do I want to eat the fries on their own without the burger? Should I wait? Will the main be here next? No idea, so you pick, and wait, and pick and by the time the mains have arrived you've eaten half the side dish and whats left is cold. Alton Towers, you owe me £80 for the worst dining service I've ever had and I can't even write a review on the Birmingham attractions because they're all booked up solid for the next 3 months. Absolutely awful food and terrible selection of options for vegetarians. The menu we saw online was not what was available. No bruschetta on the menu, no scampi on the menu, no salmon on the menu no tomato pasta on the menu. So we only ate nachos and a couple of sides. We are still hungry! Not at all happy. Kids rice was also revolting, it was sticky and mushy. It clearly hadn’t been soaked to wash away the starch and also wasn’t cooked properly. Daughter spat it out. The atmosphere however, was great.

Food was lovely but took a while to arrive, one of our table had starter and main before the rest of our starters came, but when they did come the food was really nice. Bao buns surprisingly good considering they're transported in metal containers down the rail. Atmosphere is great, the concept is very unique but means you have to wait for food and you don't get to speak to staff much. Our server Debi was really friendly and accommodating - thank you for the great service!

Wanted to try as a bit of an experience and attended with 2 young children, wasn't sure what to expect in terms of quality of food and service but was pleasantly surprised. The food was lovely and arrived at the same time and quickly (so quick we didn't take photos of the food arriving). The atmosphere was great and the restaurant was quiet while we were there. Would definitely recommend for a unique experience. Food, staff and service all great.

We enjoyed our visit to the Rollercoaster restaurant, it's very quirky, quite loud and flashing lights as expected, you will pay a bit more which is to be expected as it's within Alton Towers park. My son who has autism liked it there even though he doesn't usually deal with that kind of thing, however as a feedback one thing that did make him really agitated (and was even annoying to us) is that when you order a celebration item the screens change, staff clap and happy birthday plays, however I'm sure this system was being abused a bit because every few minutes the birthday system was playing, I think we had 12 or so during our visit which became really annoying and ended up being the reason we left a bit earlier than we planned, I think a few tables just wanted the attention or the little bear but it meant in our situation we probably wouldn't go back again, so something maybe for Alton Towers to consider limiting the system to twice an hour or something or allow people to just buy the bear (I did notice you can order the celebration item without the big fuss).

Very expensive for the quality of food. Restaurant is a gimmick and unique. Unfortunately you have to pay using an app which is an inconvenience when you don't have phone signal and have to use the resorts unsecure WiFi. Noticed food often gets stuck on the rollercoaster so staff have a large pole on hand to sort this.

Such a shame! Been dying to try this place out but heavily disappointed. We went yesterday afternoon and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! Such a cool idea but the food and execution of the gimmicks is awful. The menu is lacking and massively overprice, the novelty of the rollercoaster delivery is lost when your food is coming down in a metal dog bowl with a lid strapped on -fresh from a microwave and tastes horrid. Plus watching staff have to use a washing pole to push your plates down because they keep getting stuck spoils the illusion. I had the honey chicken with Cajun salt on the chips and it was inedible it all got left, the chicken was slimy and undercooked and the chips were dry rock hard and covered in enough red salt to cover the Sahara desert. No care in the cooking or preparation at all. It’s microwave into a bowl and down a shoot. Which you could find some excuse somewhere if it was cheap and all for the gag of the rollercoaster but it’s priced more than anywhere else on the park, my main for a few prices of chicken and some chips was just under £17! 4 people in our group and not one person ate all the food and when we mentioned it to our waitress that we weren’t happy we just got ‘oh sorry about that’ and then walked off. Annoying when you go for the experience and some good after a day on the park and then you are left QUITE literally with a bitter taste in your mouth. Honestly hate to say it but AVOID as it stands and it wasn’t even busy so no excuses. Side note for credit where due our waitress was lovely on arrival and was very welcoming It just seems they are so used to people being upset they just know to walk away. Didn’t see anyone leave happy and there was a queue for people to leave feedback on the machine which in my experience can never be a great sign. Needs a serious over haul because the idea is cool but just not any good.

Nothing really to complain about, though it's not an exceptional experience or anything. The food is better than the standard Harvester fair, and more interesting options. The delivery method is just fun to experience and watch around the restaurant. They loop through different ride music and theme videos every now and then with lighting changes which is fun, and there's posters around the place of old ride adverts and technical plans. It's a bit pricey but actually cheaper than other places around the park and less of a premium than restaurants in popular European theme parks. Enjoyed the food and the experience, and the staff were attentive.

The idea is nice, service bad. Tea didn't come, we took turns getting a dish. That's why we didn't eat at the same time. Drinks had a special aftertaste. Had to ask for mayo and ketchup even though it was already included in the order. Fun for the kids but not for the parents. Oh yes, the baby changing board looked like a slide, it sloped so diagonally.

Worth visiting for the novelty and atmosphere (I never thought my food would be doing a loop-the-loop, but it did so and arrived in one piece!), but the food isn't anything special and is a bit pricey for what it is. You get a discount with a merlin pass though which is good.

We ate here last night. We weren't expecting great things because of the terrible reviews but our options were limited. However, we mainly had a good experience. Our son's drink arrived about 20 mins before the rest of ours, but wasn't too much of a big deal. His arrived right after ordering, ours came with our food. The food took about 20 mins to come. It was all hot and really nice. It all arrived together. The only issues we experienced was that the app wouldn't let us pay. It kept giving us an error. They got someone to come over straight away and took a manual order so it wasn't a problem. The only complaint I'd have is that the waitress started clearing away the silver pots that the foot is delivered in whilst we were in the middle of eating. She reached across the front of my son a couple of times whilst he was eating. They were all very friendly but I also found this quite rude. We ordered a birthday fudge slice and teddy which came within 5 mins, along with the happy birthday song and everyone clapping. Overall we had a great experience. The cost wasn't too bad either. In comparison to other places it was about average cost.

Well cool place to eat. Food comes to your table on a tracked coaster from above and then down and round to your table sealed in containers No loops though thank god. Drinks brought to you by your server. Can order on am app as well. Ad you can guess its slightly expensive, but not ridiculous.

Would definitely go back and definitely recommend to anyone who's visiting alton towers 😀

Not busy when arrived, ordered 3 mains, then waited over half an hour while 2 other tables who arrived after us were served ahead of us. When it did come the gammon i had ordered was hard and dry. Salad was basic lettuce, tomato and cucumber. My wife enjoyed her veggie curry. It's a novelty getting food whizzed down a track, but it lost some heat in the process it seemed.

Really lovely and kind staff who were helpful when we weren't sure what to do. Great atmosphere, with the roller coaster show on the wall every 30 mins or so. Food was tasty, not amazing but I think the experience is the main attraction here. Was fun to see the food come down on the mini roller coasters! The mini Wicker Man drinks are so nice!!!

Polite staff, but cold, awful, not fresh food which is extremely overpriced. Price: 2 mains, , 1 side, 1 soft drink, 1 tap water: £50 Desert: £8-9 Quality of food: Sadly, after complaining about my chicken being cold and receiving the again cold, not fresh replacement via our lovely server I was told that the food is not cooked fresh and that the chef had now got rid of the rest of the chicken I received & made more, to better serve future customers that evening (huh?!) At this point my partner had nearly finished her meal, and I did not want to cause further delay. In fact I wanted to get out of the place to be honest. It’s a shame as the lady who served us had a great heart and wanted to do the right thing, but it’s clear that the quality control here is non existent. Zero passion for food whatsoever. It was my partners birthday during our visit, and for that reason only we decided to have a desert: we went for the little moon waffle - honestly at this point we concluded that the establishment simply does not care about customer satisfaction nor the food they serve… The drip of chocolate sauce over the microwave popcorn, the lukewarm waffle, I just can’t describe how annoyed we were to have spend so much on such poor food. Ruined a great day at Alton Towers for us. Please avoid this place, based on this experience I can confidently assure you that it really isn’t worth it. I don’t think the staff think it is either: they give you a tutorial on how to order without their internal system messing up and sending you the wrong food, and that is before you’ve even downloaded their app - save your money and take your family, partner of friend on a separate day out.

It was really fun to do something different and was really entertaining watching the food go down all the different routes. The music was entertaining and so were the clips about the main rollercoasters in the park. Only issue is our table had no forks or spoons and we weren’t given glasses for our drinks and once we were seated no server spoke to us again, only when I had to ask them for something that should’ve been there.

We went for dinner at the Rollercoaster Restaurant on Saturday evening after a day in the park! We had a great time, Josh who showed us to our table and explained things was really helpful and friendly! The food came super quick and was really tasty. The menu wasn't massive but that works and we were all able to find something to eat. We loved the way the food arrived and it was good quality. My nephew loved it, he had the best time and really enjoyed the light show during dinner as well. Would definitely recommend.
