The food was of poor quality. Both my starter - soup! - and main meal were served cold. A friend had the same main meal as me and this was also served cold. We had the impression that the food was prepared well in advance. The vegetables were so rubbery that it was difficult to cut them let alone eat them. The soup was sent back to the kitchen and returned with little apology and no explanation. The ambience is pleasant and Weston was a good meeting point as we were a party of four coming from different directions. However, the general standard of the food is not good and I would hesitate to go again.

We have been coming here for years for a beer or two when my grandmother was still about. So it had been a long time since. However, we weren't disappointed to see that it had changed much. The beer selection was still fantastic and the food was tasty and very homely. You don't have to be a member to have lunch here as far as I am aware, but best checking.

Best place going especially for pizza's, they don't advertise it but ask for tikka garlic bread you won't be disappointed, very cheap compared to everywhere else and so much better quality

Having dined here many times before without any issues, we did not feel yesterday would be any different. However the service was abysmal. It was extremely slow and unprofessional, without going into details has there been a change of management or staff? Regrettably we had to walk out after one hour and forty minutes having only had our starters. This needs to be sorted quickly, staff were congregated behind the bar with tables full of finished dirty plates. I feel we won't be in a rush to return which is Regrettable.

We chose The Hartley as its halfway between me and my brothers homes and I’m really glad we did. Faye was a perfect host, ensuring that our allergens were confirmed for each course with a lovely happy smile. The food was delicious (though highly recommend you have a very light breakfast if you’re coming for lunch as the portions are very generous!). The atmosphere was warm and welcoming with lots of chatter I’d highly recommend a visit and will definitely return, probably in summer when we can enjoy the canal side location afterwards for a well needed post food stroll A big thanks to the staff for making our Christmas meet up fabulous xx

Great pub and a great place to eat. We were looked after wonderfully by Nat. She couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Will be back very soon

We came for mother’s day lunch, it was delicious. Meat was so nice, plenty vegetables and gravy. Service was impeccable. Clean plates all round!

My order arrived very late. Unsatisfactory customer service. The woman on the call was very rude. No apologise given. Not recommended.

I popped in one night last week for battered chips and a battered sausage. The chips were good, and the battered sausage was not so good. They had to cook the sausage from fresh as they didn't have any in the display case. I wouldn't have minded waiting another 5 mins as the batter on the sausage wasn't crispy in the slightest. I ended up cooking it in the air fryer for 5 mins to crisp it up - still wasn't perfect as air fryers don't beat deep fat fryers for batter.

Just found out this place has a ONE STAR health rating after a recent visit from the local authority... wont be visiting here again!

We took some friends from USA for dinner primarily because it is an old historic building. Bit of a mistake. Food was not the best and if we had been alone I would have sent the ribeye steak back....tough as old boots change supplier asap !

Terrible!! Slow staff (under staffed?) Waited ages for our meal and cold. They seem to be more interested in the boozers propping up the bar NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!
