Great pub and a great place to eat. We were looked after wonderfully by Nat. She couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Will be back very soon

Not worth it. 2 stars just for the cute location. Waited 3/4 of an hour for 2 sandwiches, while people who came after us were getting their food! Staff unfriendly and not at all bothered. One of tue sandwiches was missing half of the fillings it was a wrap with some dry salad and a bit of coleslaw main ingredients not in. Asked for red sauces, arrived when we were done. In no rush to go again.

Scarlett and Nat looked after us very well. Fire side table, lush lunch sandwiches. Mini pudding and coffees to finish.

Lovely cosy atmosphere Sunday lunch was lovely.. all cooked to perfection Hot on arrival which was great as some places serve just warm .. will definitely return. Table service was prompt and friendly

Had a lovely meal here tonight with excellent service from Nat and Emily-Jo. Special mention to Chef Craig too as the steaks were cooked to perfection and the salad was fresh and crispy. One of the best meals we’ve had here! Thank you!

What superb service! It could not have been any better. There were eight of us, including two young children. Lovely food, all fresh and hot. Very helpful service and extremely kind to our little ones. No pressure on us, despite being slow to enjoy family time. Thank you very much.

I visit The Anchor regularly and I’m never disappointed. There is always a cosy atmosphere and a warm welcome. We were well looked after by Rob, Nat and Vic today and the food was hot and tasty with a good selection of dishes to choose from. I would recommend a visit!

Lovely, warm welcome from Nat in particular, who made an effort to chat and engage like an old friend. Quite rare these days in a pub / restaurant! This is a contrast to my previous experience here when I last visited around a year or so ago, when staff appeared to be completely indifferent to whether we were there or not. Keep up the good work and it will be noticed by customers. Get the basics right like this and you should get more people coming in for food and drink. Well done all and especially Nat! :-)

Always an absolutely wonderful experience when we come to the Anchor. The food is amazing, the staff are incredibly friendly, approachable and professional, and the atmosphere is just incredibly cozy and beautiful. Cannot recommend enough!

our first date night after three years since having kids and Nat gave us wonderful service! We have had a wonderful time!

Came in on Sunday just for drinks, got greeted by a nice tall friendly guy on arrival who then went behind the bar to serve us drinks. Ordered a cider and glass of wine and took outside to enjoy on the decking which directly looks out onto the canal which was stunning. We saw the bar snacks menu which looked really good value b it we had already eaten but will definitely go back for the bar snacks menu, 3 4 £10 , would certainly return.

Brilliant attentive service, absolutely delicious vegan food, and dog friendly too, with doggy snacks. Would thoroughly recommend it. The pub was so busy and vibrant, yet the service could not be faulted. Thank you very much.

My wife and I called in off our narrow boat on a Friday evening. It was very busy but Rob who looked after us was an excellent host. The food (we are both vegan) was delicious and the merlot was very drinkable!? Our dogs also had a treat. All in all, an excellent visit. Thank you Rob and the chefs behind the scenes. I stared to come here every Thursday for a quiz, it’s such a great atmosphere cosy pub what you can chill out in, drinks are great especially the iced coffees. Food has always been amazing every time! And the manager Mike and the whole team are welcoming, friendly and always go out of their way to make an effort! Will keep going back! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We visited on a Saturday so it was quite busy but we were dealt with very quickly. My wife has allergies which we had mentioned when booking and they produced a special menu for her and checked other meals on the menu to ensure she could choose them as well. The food was excellent for all 4 of us and the service was also excellent. The atmosphere led to a friendly feeling I would certainly recommend this establishmen.

Another great night at the Anchor. We came for the quiz (we came 2nd and won a bottle of prosecco) but had food before hand. Every single one of us loved the food. Good portions for the money, we were too full up for dessert. Service was quick despite it being really busy. Our server Jacob was so lovely and polite and nothing was too much trouble for him. I believe serving tables is quite new to him but he is doing a fantastic job!

Enjoyed a Gammon steak with egg, chips and peas, my husband had sirloin steak, chips n peas all cooked nicely. Staff friendly, pub has a nice atmosphere, would recommend plenty of food and drink choices.

Came for a family meal and was not disappointed. We all had different meals, fish and chips, sea bass and pizza and all of them were cooked perfectly. My mom and nan aren't big eaters so had a starter and mini pud with a hot drink instead. They came out at the same time as the mains and nothing was too much trouble. For dessert we had the honey pot, banoffe pie and sticky toffee pudding. They were presented beautifully and tasted delicious. Everyone really enjoyed the food and the log fires really add to the atmosphere. Shout out to Ravi for being a great host and scarlett for giving the dog loads of attention, she loved all the love and treats.

Visited for a birthday meal The meal was dreadful and very very over priced . I was looking forward to the triple cooked chips !!!!! Well what can I say they were lukewarm oven chips at most my lasagna a basic pub grub staple was not good very well ver cooked and as for my husband and daughters beef bourguignon that was so dry no sauce and burnt carrots‍♀️ Why did we not complain rather then just look at each other in awkward silence was because my daughter who’s birthday it was is shy and hates confrontation so yes we put up with it , rather than upset her birthday meal My husband went to pay and was given a copy of his card receipt but no actual itemised bill which is not normally a problem but because the bill was so expensive he asked for it , on checking it we realised the drinks were very expensive and we were charged an over 20 pounds service charge which we thought was a little naughty . My husband did call and complain(very out of character ) and after a week was refunded the money back on to his card .Will not be visiting again soon if ever.
