The loveliest staff I've ever experienced. Situated on a lovely country road this is what I would consider a quintessential English pub. The food was better than great and I can only say that the staff went above and beyond. Highly recommend this pub if you are in Herefordshire. Miss it and you miss out !!
Found Rocket down little Hereford back street. Went in and found a seat. Ordered two Goats Cheese, pesto and cranberry flat bread wraps.
My wife went to the toilet - not good - clearly hardly ever cleaned - dirty, dusty, toilet seat broken !! If we had gone in there before ordering we would not have eaten there…..always tell a place by its toilets.
Throughout our time eating there was, on a table right near us, a young boy (clearly related to one of the staff) he was eating a McDonalds and for the whole 30 minutes was watching videos on a phone at high volume !! Others came in and were clearly bothered by it.
Shame - the food was pretty good. Staff not friendly.

We came to EN BBQ one evening and were pleasantly pleased to see that our waiter for the evening was Patryk who would usually be cooking. We were delighted to have Patryk serve us as he’s such a professional polite man and always makes us feel very welcomed. His customer service is excellent so having him as our waiter really makes the evening so much more enjoyable. The food was lovely but we were very disappointed to hear that Patryk is now leaving soon. He is a real asset to your team and will be sadly missed. We do hope that we get to meet him again somewhere soon as his professionalism really makes a great difference to your evening.
Just got back from a really lovely Sunday lunch at the New Inn in Fownhope. I had the pork roast dinner and it was spot on – generous portions and full of flavour. The cauliflower cheese was especially good, creamy and cheesy without being too heavy. Plenty of vegetables too!
For dessert, I went for a waffle with two scoops of ice cream, which was the perfect way to finish off the meal.
The two ladies that own the pub were super attentive and couldn’t do enough for us – really welcoming and friendly, which made the experience even better. The pub itself has a cosy, relaxed feel.
Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and fancy a proper home cooked Sunday roast!
We ate here 3 times while staying nearby for a week. When I phoned to book I was asked if I had any dietary requirements. I said that sweet potato fries weren't on their menu, but it would be great if they could get some. The reply was that they would try. I was delighted that when we arrived they had some!
We enjoyed their Sunday roast of beef, Yorkshire pudding and lots of different vegetables. Like the 2 other times we ate here, all the food was excellent, cooked just right, tasty and hot.
This was recommended to us by The Inn we were staying at across the road and we really appreciated the recommendation. It was very delicious food and the service was outstanding. Only issue was they didn't have normal vodka, only flavoured ones, but it did not ruin our experience here. Highly recommended!
