Found Rocket down little Hereford back street. Went in and found a seat. Ordered two Goats Cheese, pesto and cranberry flat bread wraps. My wife went to the toilet - not good - clearly hardly ever cleaned - dirty, dusty, toilet seat broken !! If we had gone in there before ordering we would not have eaten there…..always tell a place by its toilets. Throughout our time eating there was, on a table right near us, a young boy (clearly related to one of the staff) he was eating a McDonalds and for the whole 30 minutes was watching videos on a phone at high volume !! Others came in and were clearly bothered by it. Shame - the food was pretty good. Staff not friendly.

What on earth has happened to your wonderful cafe? I have used it for many years but will be very reluctant to use it again. I found it to be dirty, from the filthy toilet, to the cutlery and the empty bottles of water left on the serving area. We waited for nearly an hour for our breakfasts and when they arrived they were mostly cold. Not sure if it’s dill on the beans but whatever it was I found it to overwhelm the taste. I was pleased to see the cakes were covered but they looked as if they had been there quite a while. I do hope they will be able to rectify these issues and the cafe will return to its former glory. I did speak to the manager but no apology given and tried emailing first but it was rejected.

I think the staff must have been having a very bad day as they seemed totally fed up. Arrived at 1145 and just missed breakfast. Had to ask if it was ok to sit anywhere etc and no one even looked up as we arrived. Ordered ice latte and a tea. Didn’t have either. Settled for water and a black coffee plus two wraps. They were ok but by then we have lost the feeling. Won’t be going back. I mean who doesn’t have tea in a cafe. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Came here for brunch on a lovely morning but appetite was spoiled for the rest of the day. Poor service on entry and throughout with incorrect orders taken, leading to rushed preparation and presentation of food. Veggie breakfast was substandard and bland and the plate was covered in water from eggs. Won't be visiting again. On the plus side, the goats cheese flatbread was very tasty.

This wasn't the nicest of experiences. The staff were very friendly, but when we received our food a lot of it was cold. So wasn't a pleasant eating experience. We had a word with the owner who gave us our money back.

What a gem of a cafe and great to see somewhere deservingly busy! Had a relaxing time eating a delicious flat bread and a cappuccino. Great choice, friendly people and nice atmosphere. Will definitely return with friends and would not hesitate to recommend to others who want to eat tasty, fresh food at a really great cafe!

This used to be a great little cafe with good good. Unfortunately, the current staff appear to be no more than teenagers of 15/16 years of age with no adult supervision. Service is appalling, to say the least, and the staff seem to have little idea of how yo deal with customers! My wife and I were handed menu's, ordered only to be told the items were unavailable. After ordering toast and poached eggs, we had to wait an incredible amount of time until I finally had to go to the counter to ask why it was taking so long. Additionally, we had sat there while the staff stood chatting, not doing anything. Finally, they took dome action then to be served with lacklustre food with toast done in the 'pizza oven' and toast requiring a magnifying glass itvwas so small. After challenging the staff, we were met with rude and inappropriate comments. We demanded our money back.

This place used to be buzzing when the old owners had it, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Not anymore! The place is dirty and the food is awful now. I had the falafel salad which was basically a bowl of leaves with 3 bland and undercooked falafel, a couple of cheap olives and half an avocado for £11! This used to be a massive salad with loads of goodies for less money!! The “star” of the show though was my wife’s blue cheese pizza which appeared to have no cheese, blue or other on it and the base was so hard it shattered upon biting, she actually hurt her mouth on it! The base was COVERED in raw flour where they didn’t bother to knock it off before baking (see pic) also very expensive! The coffee was very bitter. Won’t be visiting again, what a Shame it used to be so good.

We waited nearly an hour for two breakfasts, even though the cafe was pretty empty. The coffees took ages to come after ordering them. When our breakfast came, we had to get our own cutlery. Had to ask for hot chocolate as they forgot to bring it. Asked for ketchup and our breakfast was pretty much finished by the time they brought it over. Food very average and over priced. Wouldn’t go back.

I recently visited Hereford, and ate a few times at Rocket Cafe. The food and service was always excellent and I highly recommend it for breakfast, lunch or a delicious coffee break.

This cafe has gone downhill, especially in the last year. When we sat down, we realised the table was dirty (bits of food on it) as had happened a couple of times previously and so asked a member of the team to clean it, which they did (properly). However during our meal we observed another of the team clearing away a different table and were shocked to see them using a used/dirty napkin to flick at bits on the table then walk away. If this is their idea of cleanliness then we won’t be visiting again, which is a shame as we were regulars.

Bad service. No cutlery available or salt & pepper. The whole place felt grubby. Tables not cleared. Shall not be revisiting

This place is stuck in the dark ages , as the options for gluten free meals are unacceptable for the 21st century, two options for lunch and that doesn’t include cake. A lame excuse about cross contamination which, if you are celiac or allergic you wouldn’t eat out anyway, so not a valid point. other alternative and health food eateries have been providing a wide selection of foods so why can’t this backwards dump do likewise, vegan cakes can be made gluten free without difficulty or expense, baked potatoes, crustless quiche are options that any intelligent business would provide and wouldn’t be wasted.

A nice little cafe just on the edge of the city centre. Pleasant seating area and surroundings and very nice food. However, the service is pretty dire, the kitchen totally chaotic, and staff appear to be incapable of understanding your order. Very long wait for food and the owner seems oblivious to customers?

Home prepared quality food , friendly service , nice atmosphere. Great place to have a relaxing break . You sense the welcome . Food is good value, well prepared with a nice quality touch especially around preparation and finishes. We will visit again

Literally my favourite cafe, the staff are always lovely and the atmosphere and decor is just the best. The food is amazing, the soup and salad is unreal. Really recommend, it's such a happy place.

Spotted this little cafe on our walk back from the cathedral the previous evening. Looked interesting. Breakfast choices were great. We both had egg on sourdough toast with a good cup of coffee. Very friendly service too. Highly recommended.

My husband and I chose this little cafe as it serves vegetarian food and we hadn’t eaten all day we were not disappointed…. It was lovely my hubby had a pizza which he devoured and I had a salad with super smooth hummus, tasty dressing and minty falafels… the staff could not have been more friendly, putting some blue cheese as an extra on my salad and chilli sauce as an extra on my hubby’s pizza. It was so pleasant sitting in the corner with the fan on, we were very relaxed, well fed and wishing we were local so we could come again…

We visited for lunch with my mum and my two children. The children had pizzas which were huge and consumed enthusiastically. Myself and my mum had flatbread which were exceptional with a generous side salad. This little cafe is definitely a hidden gem, located in the independant quarter of Hereford and worth a visit for locals and visitors alike. The staff cod not be more welcoming. Looking forward to trying their delicious looking cakes next time we visit!

I rarely buy food and drinks out - but thought an oat milk hot chocolate would be a nice treat. Massive disappointment as the drink was only lukewarm and barely tasted of chocolate at all. The hot chocolate used to be really good here - but not anymore!

Visited here today for lunch during our trip to Hereford, based on ratings we read on Trip adviser. Ordered a wrap with bacon and Brie which was very disappointing as the wrap was tough and the filling was mostly rocket, with a small piece of of Brie and 2 small pieces of undercooked bacon, which was mostly fat. When my elderly husband pointed this out, the young employee smirked and gave him a rude reply. No apology was given. The attitude of the member of staff would not encourage a repeat visit. We wished we had chosen a different venue.

Stopped here for lunch while on holiday and enjoyed a very tasty pizza sitting outside in the sunshine watching the World go by. Table was a bit rickety which didn't make for the most relaxing meal but the food was great and the staff very friendly. Recommended.

We called in on a Saturday lunchtime. The staff were fun and friendly and the menu healthy and interesting. I opted for the falafel, hummus and sweet potato wrap and was not disappointed. Others in my party enjoyed the pizzas. A great place for lunch and handy for the Cathedral.

Always a safe bet when wanting something wholesome and well made - I just wish it was bigger as we can't always get in! Love the fact that there are Vegan choices and flatbreads for the kids, keep it up guys!

We popped in, on a very hot, sunny day. Having been on the road for four hours, we were both starving and in need of a mellow rest.This restaurant ticked all the boxes. Two tasty flat breads, a decent salad and a buzzy atmosphere.It was fun just to sit there and people watch, as people they knew came and went. Dog friendly, which was a major bonus for us.

Maybe it just isn't our thing, but I wish we'd gone somewhere else. We went on the strength of the 5 star reviews on TripAdvisor. The outside doesn't look anything like the photo but went in anyway. Not the most comfortable seating. There seemed to be a few people there to use the wifi; laptops numbered four and there are only about six tables! Menu didn't really appeal, but ordered toasted ham and gruyere flatbreads. Asked if it came with salad to which the reply was 'we can do a side salad'. Also ordered two black Americano's. The whole lot came to nearly £22.00. The coffee came first; well, I say coffee. It looked like muddy water and didn't taste like coffee at all. The flatbreads were, well, very flat (very little filling) and half the plates were taken up with salad leaves which were rather greasy. Had we been told that this would have been on the plate we wouldn't have needed the side salad which, incidentally was just a lot of greasy leaves. Will never return.

Stopped for a quick breakfast. You can mix and match the various items, I had avocado, bacon on sourdough toast. The avocado was great, the bacon crispy and superb. The americano coffee was flavoursome too. For a small artisan cafe they seem to doing everything right.

Excellent, thin and crispy pizza, one of the best, followed by an apple "bomb"' a most unprepossesing looking thing but delicious. Lovely service, and a thoroughly enjoyable lunch. Very well done. Oh, and the prices are very reasonable too.

Second time I've eaten here & as before the food was just wonderful. Had warm goats cheese salad & Earl Grey tea, incredibly generous portions of beautiful freshly prepared food. Home made bread as a side, wonderful.The pizzas are a wonder to behold but not sure I have enough room to accommodate one. Can't recommend this establishment too highly.

Stopped here for a spot of lunch, and not only is EVERYTHING made right in front of your eyes, but the dude is nice and tells you not to bother looking at the menu, and he will make you whatever you like, it was the MOST AMAZING salad I’ve ever had. And I don’t even like salad! Reasonable and friendly and bloody delicious!

A wide selection of freshly prepared and imaginative food for breakfast, lunch, plus cakes and pastries. Despite being in the heart of the tourist zone it's inexpensive and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Veggies/vegans do well, but meat eaters have a more limited choice than usual.

This is our third visit and eaten something different every time. From pizza to salads. Quiche and today wraps. Very fresh , made to order. Accompanied by great music, atmosphere & fresh leaf teas. Lovely friendly staff. Cant fault it ❤️

Wonderful lunch here. Absolutely brilliant Falafel wrap, one of the tastiest I've ever eaten and such good value Good surroundings and very friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this cafe to anyone, the salads & Pizzas looked wonderful too.

We stopped for a quick coffee break and enjoyed this café. The hot chocolate had a thick cream on it snd the decafe latte was lovely. Cakes were limited as we landed the end of the day so had a brownie and biscuit which were warm and very tasty. The only small hiccup was we arrived at a busy point so the seating area with stools was a bit tight, but as we were cold the cosiness worked. The main meals looked and smelt good and were ample portions.the staff were friedly too. Good spot for refreshments.

Just eaten the best quiche of my life (crustless, and totally perfect). The coffee is incredible. Proprietor just came over to ask if we wanted to change our roast as he thought it was a little too dark. The whole place is Awesome.

As visitors to Hereford we stumbled across Rocket whilst looking for somewhere nice for lunch. The staff here were instantly welcoming and friendly..keen to find us seating and to talk us through the menu. We found the food to be high quality, tasty and well presentated. My blue cheese pizza was wonderful. Other members of our party had the delicious homemade carrot and sweet potato soup...the lovely staff offfered a little espresso cup with a taster sample for us to try before we ordered. A super place that is highly recommended for both its lovely food and friendly atmosphere.

We just happened upon this lovely cafe on a visit to Hereford. Had a really delicious lunch- quich and lovely fresh salad and the best leek and potato soup I have had in ages!

We visited Rocket Kitchen twice while in Hereford because we liked everything about it. It is in a cute and interesting little laneway and is well worth visiting. We couldn’t fault anything and as Australian ‘coffee snobs’ were particularly impressed with the coffees. Highly recommend this spot.

Breakfast is made up of indivudaul items ordered separately. The bacon was perfectly cooked and a real treat. The eggs, avocado and mushrooms were all cooked great and were clearly organic and well sourced. The coffee and tea are really good too. The staff are freindly, knowledgable and accommodating. The menu is quite sufficient though it would have been nice to have a sausage.

Standing outside the cathedral, turned to TA for a recommendation for lunch. We were less than a minute away from Rocket. It turned out to be perfect. Excellent pizza and salads. Friendly staff. Bench seating got us talking to other couples. Our first visit. Won't be our last.

Been coming to Hereford for years but 1st time we've found Rocket. Highly recommend. Lovely food, fab atmosphere. Knitting for you to pick up & knit a few rows while you're talking to companions !!!! Will certainly visit again; we had coffee and delicious home made cake but food looked scrumptious.

This is the best speciality coffee in town. They are also serving delicious wraps and pizzas in a nice cozy atmosphere.

This was my second vist to this gem of a cafe. The staff are cheerful, polite and explain the menu choices clearly. My husband and I each ordered a pizza. The service was prompt and efficient. The pizza had an excellent sourdough base and the topping was generous, tasty and well balanced. My roasted butternut squash and goats cheese pizza was enhanced by a sprinkling of fresh herbs. Our lunch was excellent value for money too.

Stopped in for lunch. Had two different quiches with salad and a drink. There was no pastry on the quiches, they were more like soufflés. Seriously tasty though and under £20 for the two of us. Would definitely go back. Saw some folk having the sourdough pizzas and they looked excellent. I

Looking for somewhere for a light lunch, we chanced on Rocket and were bowled over by the warm and friendly welcome. The menu - all on the blackboard is all freshly prepared which has the added bonus of being adapted to our particular needs. My quiche and salad was out of this world and my partner's freshly made pizza was light and totally delicious. Fresh coffee and Earl Grey Tea was really good quality and the cakes...... d.i.v.i.n.e! I love places that do simple, delicious food very, very well and Rocket is one of the very best.

So nice to be treated normally as a vegan, even when the coffee didn’t work out with soya milk the staff replaced my drink and continued to ensure my dietary requirements were met THANK YOU 😊 food was amazing ❤️

Those lovely folk at Rocket cafe do breakfast beautifully. Pick what you fancy from the simple menu - sourdough toast, avocado and poached egg was the perfect start to a weekend. Beautifully presented and delish. Great atmosphere. Shame no space for a cake - maybe next time....

Stopped off in Hereford to view the world famous map, Rocket is very convenient for the cathedral so gave it try, I had the hand stretched pizza and my wife had a bacon salad, both very good. It's very cosy inside with long communal benches and a lot of takeaway trade. Overall a good if not outstanding experience.

We enjoyed lunch one Saturday in April. My husband had a very nice wrap and I had a bowl of soup. Both were good and tasty.

We decided that we were going to come to Hereford to see the weeping window at the cathedral and I looked on Tripadvisor for a few tips for lunch. This was the lunch venue I decided on and when we got there we had to stand for a few minutes before getting a seat. Busy place with friendly staff and a 'hippy vibe'. Not a huge menu but enough to get something you like. Pizza was fresh and very tasty. Whilst we were there loads of people came in and waited for seats.

We always visit Rocket for lunch when we are in Hereford. It’s on Church Street, a very pretty lane leading to the medieval cathedral. The coffee is pretty good, and the salads, wraps and pizzas are excellent.

A vibrant friendly cafe. The staff were positive and welcoming, and we were able to bring our dog in with us. We ordered a couple of hot drinks and some pizzas and the food was lovely. My wife went for the vegan option and was very pleased with how tasty it was. A definite recommendation.

It was heaving when we went one lunch time but this meant there was a really good, friendly atmosphere. The space is tight but it means there is a kinda communal feeling which is nice. The food is lovely. Great fresh salads and the pizzas are amazing! Really nice staff and reasonably priced.

Called for brunch, recommended by family friend. Was not disappointed. Small, cost, basic seating but the food made up for this. The wrap was very generously filled and the brunch breakfast was mouth watering. Will be back next visit !

Whilst wandering around Hereford I passed this gem of a restaurant. I decided to give it a go and have some breakfast. The breakfast menu has a variety of individually priced selections that you mix and match. I had scrambled eggs, bacon and toast with a coffee which came to just under ten pounds. It sounds expensive when compared to certain fast food chains but the difference is like night and day. Simply put the food is delicious, freshly cooked from locally sourced ingredients. Crisp smoked bacon with creamy scrambled eggs on two doorsteps of bread - my favourite! The chef was prepping the lunch menu in an open plan kitchen, something that always gets my vote in a restaurant. I would encourage anyone to give this place a go and enjoy scrumptious food cooked to the highest standard.
