Excellent extensive menu to choose from and very friendly team waiting on. Competitive prices for great quality food.

I'm saddened to write this and conscious of the fact that we have had many excellent meals previously and only review when we are unhappy. However the feedback may be beneficial so I'm reporting a terrible experience on Saturday evening. I say experience because my meal was lovely but we had to wait for one and a half hours. The kitchen was prioritising takeaways of which there were many. Staff were literally running constantly past our table with plastic bags of food. Our orders were mixed up with another table and some forgotten. We really felt like we were imposing by wanting to dine in the restaurant. The waiting staff literally had no time to attend to us and we felt invisible. So if you don't mind your Saturday evening dining experience to be chaotic, noisy and long then you'll be fine.

Last night (Thursday) 30th November. we went out for an evening meal @MAHIS Indian Restaurant in Bromyard that came Highly Recommended. We were not disappointed. The food was 100% in tastiness, freshness, and hot. The service was also excellent. I would Highly recommend going, but ring first to book a table. We will be going again.

If you don’t like Indian food, don’t want a Chinese take away or take out chips, don’t come to Bromyard on a Monday! Our hotel didn’t offer evening meal, neither of the other 2 pubs/hotels provide meals on a Monday evening!! Thank goodness for the Mathis, it was Hobsons choice that turned out to be a really good choice.The food was really enjoyable and pleasantly served. I don’t think will return to Bromyard, but if we did, we would eat here again!

The wife and I were away for a couple of nights without the kids, so thought it would be great to go out for a curry again. A quick check on here showed the Mahis Indian Restaurant a couple of miles away in Bromyard so we decided to drive over without booking. Being a Tuesday night we didn't expect it to be busy, but when we got there there were still surprised to see only one other table occupied. We were shown to a table far enough away from the other group so as not to overhear them, but not so far as we felt isolated. The waiter was attentive, but gave us plenty of time to choose from the ample menu. When the food arrived we were pleasantly surprised at the quantity - you won't go home hungry - but also the very reasonable prices when other establishments have been increasing their own so much over the last year or two. Plenty of drinks to choose from as well (glad my wife was driving!), but we could't find room for dessert. Would thoroughly recommend to any other curry lovers when visiting Bromyard, and would suite both families and groups of friends.

Booked this on a whim & because we were on holiday booked before the Coronation was announced, so finding a place was challenging. However, we had a lovely meal with excellent service and would recommend this to anyone. The prices were competitive and reasonably cheap, however the Cobra Beer at £5.95 a pint I thought was excessive.

The Staff were so helpful and kind and helped me to choose a perfect mild vegetable korma as I can't eat hot spices. The menu really caters for everyone from the really hot and spicy to sweet and mild. The food was perfect and the restaurant spotless. I can't praise the food and lovely staff enough. Reasonably priced too!!

I have recently moved to Broyard and I had the pleasure of having a meal at Mahis. Food was excellent and very well priced. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be making dining out there a regular occurance.

Best Indian food we ve ever er tasted. Shish Kebab, Sagwallah, Chilli Chicken was tasty. Wish they would open a restaraunt in Newtown. Staff were friendly ans accommodating.

Good Indian with some interesting menus. My takeaway included several complimentary items and the portions were huge, so much so that I carefully reheated half of it on a second day which to my surprise was even more enjoyable than the first!

Excellent food and service on our visit with friends. Succulent chicken and flavoursome curry. Fresh nans, perfectly cooked all round. Definitely pay another visit when back in the area. Thankyou Sammi and his team. Also look forward to a korma lesson by Sammi the owner.

Decided on to eat in instead of having the takeaway, and so glad we did. Great friendly staff, Fabulous menu choice and everything is freshly cooked and tasted amazing. Will defiantly be back and would recommend 100% for anyone to try

Really enjoyed our takeaway tonight. We are on holiday here so didn’t really know what the standard would be but we were delighted with our meal - best takeaway we have had in ages, good portions with plenty of meat. Thank you.

We eat in or buy takeaways from Mahis at least once a week and have never been disappointed. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and know many of their customers by name. The food is delicious and authentic with a good variety on their menu and we often have a little extra popped in as a treat. Mahis is by far our favourite local Indian restaurant.

Don’t like leaving a bad review, but This had to be done. Ordered a Pathia and chicken jalfreze takeaway. It was tasteless. I nearly always have a Pathia whenever I go to or order an Indian meal. This one was really awful and nothing like a sweet and sour Pathia. The jalfreze was the same, in fact they both tasted like the same meal. Never again

5 of us did a walk in on Monday evening about 8pm. We were seated and well looked after by all of the staff. Various starters & meals later. All of us were more than satisfied with the quality of the food and the service they couldn't enough for us. We wholeheartedly reccomend this establishment. We will be back again and will bring more people with us.

My wife and I have been eating at this restaurant on a reasonably regular basis for the past two years and we have never been disappointed. The food is consistently very good, the service excellent, and overall it's always great value for money.

Have visited this restaurant many times over the years when visiting Hereford and the quality of the food has never changed in the last 10 years. The food is always excellent, with large portions and the staff are always friendly. We have a takeaway on the first Sunday of our holidays at Docklow pools and have never been disappointed and the order is always correct. Great food!!!!

Always have a great meal, friendly staff, efficient service and great value. Yoghurt mint dip is the best, I also love the vegetable biryani. Highly recommended.

Table of 5.The service was poor from the start, we had to wait 20 minutes for our poppadoms.I had a glass of rose wine, no idea what kind as they don't have a drinks menu and it tasted more like water.When the poppadoms finally arrive all the sauces served with them were watered down. The mango chutney was runny and had no flavour.The meal too ka while to arrive but it was OK when it did. Nothing special, the naans were dry but the rice and curry were OK.We were hurried out and told they had over booked as there was another big table...Overall not very impressed.

Mahis is without doubt the best Indian in Herefordshire. I’ve been here many times over the years, and I’ve never had a bad meal. Only slight complaint would be the wait sometimes, but that happens when you have a busy restaurant. I would thoroughly recommend anything with a pint or Cobra.

Arranged to meet friends on NYE at Mahis for an early Indian meal fo the 4 of us .Service was prompt and efficient Our meals arrived piping hot and all were very tastey in very filling. Weve been there on numerous occasions with multiple friends and have been pleased each time.That's why we go there regularly And reccomend this establishment to all our friends.

We ordered a 2 person set meal was really tasty and plenty to fill up... Definitely worth the money.

We have a holiday home on Malvern View approximately 3 miles from Bromyard and are regular visitors to Bromyard itself. We regularly visit Mathis, usually with friends as it’s a fantastic restaurant and a great place to enjoy time chatting & enjoying good food. There is something on the menu to suit everyone, the food is a delight, wonderfully presented and with the first class service, you couldn’t find a better Indian restaurant.

What a great place for a decent meal! The menu is extensive and has lots of interesting options you won't find in your bog-standard local curry house, including a really decent range of vegetarian dishes. The food was well prepared and came out of the kitchen quickly, despite a group of 10 having ordered not long before we did.

This restaurant is absolutely delicious by far! I would highly recommend this place to anyone! They’ve been there for a very longtime as well! Staff are wonderful and service could not get any better!

Ordered at 6.30,starters arrived 7.25. Mains arrived 8.20. Tasty food but too far too long. Group of six, didn't feel like they cope with big groups.

A bit dark inside but atmospheric. A fair wait but cooked fresh so worth the wait. The food is excellent and we (3) were looked after well. Well done, we shall be back!

When my wife and I moved to Bromyard we visited this restaurant three years ago. The quality and service was good but very drawn out.

Best curry I’ve ever tasted 3 of us ate all of us couldn’t have left happier Between us we had the chicken karhri lamb balti & the lamb tikka balti all excellent the nann bread was crispy on the outside & soft on the inside

We are regular customers of Mahi's but our most recent visit was unacceptably poor. Our dishes were very bland without any flavour at all. When we mentioned our concerns we were told that we would be taken care of on our next visit. This may not occur.....

We are regular customers of Mahis and have always enjoyed a good, if unspectacular, curry there. Ordered a takeaway last night which, unusually, was less than ordinary. Lacked any real flavour or depth of taste....just a warm and watery stew really. Let's hope normal service...

So there we were all meeting up in Bromyard and the restaurant we chose to meet at was closed. Quick look at Trip-advisor and we found this place. From the off we knew were going to be looked after by the staff, they told us the food would be good, well so it was. Excellent in fact, very tasty, not your usual Indian mush, it has texture and content. Totally tasty, would definitely recommend you try this place and its priced well. Apparently there are 5 Indian Restaurants in Bromyard, they must love their curry these townsfolk, you cant go wrong here though. If you like Cobra beer, be prepared, it was certainly the coldest one I have ever had. Fab!

Our first day in Bromyard and we decided to try Mahis. Best curry we have had in a long time....superb. The staff were very friendly and the decor is very inviting. Will definately revisit.

Good selection of Indian food on the menu. You can usually get a table here but it does get busy on a weekend. You may have to wait a while for the food once ordered so ideally book your table 20 mins before you wish to eat. Alcohol and soft drinks are available. It's a venue suitable for couples or families. If you order a take out and collect yourself you get a discount, although they will deliver locally.

Monday night we decided to book for a table of 6 at mahis we all got together and had a fantastic meal the service is top priority and they make sure you get that ! Sam and mac allways make sure you feel welcome will be back again ! Definitely recommend this place

Getting a meal with a vegetarian is always stressful, but the Mahis passed the test with flying colours. A vegetable biryani with a medium spicy side sauce was voted excellent. Poppadoms and pickles also went down well, though 75p per poppadom is pushing the boundaries a bit, we thought. The Mumbai mix of tandoori items and a kathi kebab were superb, as were the breads. It's almost getting boring to say so every 6 months or so, but this is a fine restaurant.

When ever we get stuck for something to eat this is always the destination of choice.You can pick any item from the menu and know it will be great. Portions are very generous and the service is great.

I was looking for a quick meal in Bromyard without booking. The Mahis was recommended. At 6pm there was nobody else in but I was quickly seated. They have Cobra on draught. Food was excellent. My curry tastes are conventional but the Tikka Masala was great. One of the best Sag Aloos I have ever had. And very reasonable at less than £20 including the Cobra and popadoms. Highly recommended

Really enjoyed my meal I ordered the lamb shanks it was perfect. Customer service was brilliant really enjoyed how they treated me. And the restaurant was very lively had a great laugh with some friends and enjoyed the food I would really recommend this place.

We had a meal on a Tuesday night at mahis very busy night for a small town in Bromyard food was absolutely fantastic service was top well done ! We will be back again.

I have been coming here regularly for many years with family and friends. The food is reliably delicious and the regular staff always provide a warm welcome. This is my favourite Indian restaurant in the Bromyard area.

We had a group of 8 booked at mahis and what a busy place it was no wounder it's busy the food is superb ! they can handle the busy times in here the food is fresh and tasty in here I would recommend this place try it

First rate food, served by pleasant staff at entirely reasonable prices. What more could you ask for? The Mumbai Mix starter and chicken achari are particularly worthy of praise, but you'll struggle to find something that doesn't work for you here. Highly recommended.

Having had some disappointing visits to Indian restaurants a few years ago, we have tended to avoid them, but after a recommendation from a friend, we decided to try Mahis.We'll definitely be going again. The food was wonderful; the service perfect and, amazingly, the bill was reasonable too!What a great restaurant. Top marks Mahis!

We live locally, and are always delighted with the food and service that we get at Mahis.The waiters are all very friendly, polite and knowledgeable, the food is always hot and extremely tasty, and we have never been disappointed in any of our choices. Full marks to a great team.

Having had a horror experience at another Indian resturant in Bromyard we visited late on Saturday without a reservation.We received a warm welcome and shown to our table. The restaurant has a lovely feel to it and is warm and welcoming. The staff where extremely friendly and attentive and the menu extendsive and a few interesting local specials. The lamb shank which I notice also has some good reviews in here was excellent as was my wife's choice of tikka balti. We really enjoyed our evening and meal and really like the staff and service which complemented an excellent meal. A great night and we will definitely be returning soon.

Me and my wife come to this place every Saturday nights and we never book don't no why we don't cuz for the 3 months every time we come its full ! But they make sure we get a table the service is excellent in here and I have never had a bad meal,I love the lamb shank they do here really good. Well done and keep it going

Took a while, even taking into consideration was busy and also doing takeaways. initially my rice tasted a bit bitter, but without any questions they replaced the rice and my main without any fuss!

I don't know why our monthly dining group leaves it so long between visits to the Mahis. Friendly, efficient service and absolutely superb food. The Mumbai mix starter of tandoori dishes is simply fabulous. My chicken pathia was tasty without being aggressively spicy and the accompanying onion kulcha (stuffed naan bread) outstanding. Thoroughly recommended.

We have a take-away from Mahis quite often and wouldn't go anywhere else. We have tried many Indian restaurants up and down the country when on holiday or visiting family & friends but I can honestly say none are as good as the Food here!

Booked table for 12 1 month in advance. Waited half an hour before anyone came to take our order. Waited another 45 minutes for food to arrive. When we took issue with the management they became rude and aggressive. Food heavy and greasy.. All 12 of us live in Bromyard. Needless to say not one of us will return.

Our first visit to this restaurant, and sure it won't be our last. We were greeting politely and promptly seated. Made very welcome and chose our dishes. Each prepared with fresh ingredients, tasty spices. The portions were so that we struggled to finish. Complimentary drink at the end too which was a nice touch. Great value for money.

My girlfriend and I live in London and often struggle to find an Indian that isn't bland. We were staying near Bromyard whilst visiting her mother and decided to treat her to a meal out.We had Mahis recommended to us by a friend, and I can see why. The food is great, perfectly spiced. And served by knowledgeable waiting staff who are happy to answer any questions you may have. The chefs are also happy to change things up to suit your taste and seem to love a challenge!The food is very reasonable and the portions are great, although the starters are quite big so make sure to leave room for your main course.Will definitely visit again when in the area!

An extensive menu is always available and their use of fresh herbs and spices certainly makes a difference. The staff are always extremely polite & friendly & have really good manners. Food is presented really well whether you eat in or have the takeaways. Probably one of the best curry houses in that area and one that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

This is the best curry house I know so far! I visit this curry house quite allot now, and it has never disappointed me. Tried majority dishes, and they are fresh and tasty. I would recommend to all!

Every time I walk through the doors on a Saturday evening, they are very busy as always! I travel a distance just to get quality food which I am never disappointed and I would definitely recommend. I walked in and asked for a table of four which the staffs kindly rushed off their feet and got us a table within minutes. Best food in Bromyard, thanks to the chef!

I've been living in Bromyard for about 7 years and I have been visiting Mahis ever since. This tells us that Mahis is a very good restaurant as me and many others have been going ever since! This place has never let me down till the day today, I visited this restaurant yesterday and they were busy, I requested for a table of 8, which was served in seconds. The service and food was incredible as they were very busy. They have never let me down! Thanks to the Mahis staffs, and a very special thank you to the chef! I would always recommend this place to anyone!

Very accommodating considering it was teatime and we simply walked in off spec expecting to get a table, fortunately for us we managed to get in. We had never been before and we were very impressed with the service, the food was scrumptious and the price although seemed more to what we would have paid locally at home the dishes we picked also included rice and naan. The only disappointment were the toilets which could do with a serious refurb.Would still recommend folks to at here.

My wifeand I went to Mahis in Bromyard for the first time on Tuesday 9th June after having read some really good reviews. We were very disappointed. There were only 2 of us in the restaurant as we went early around 6.00pm and yet my Mumbai mixed starter was luke warm and the onion bhaji was very unappetising, I left most of it. My wife had samosas which she didn't like, followed by chicken jalfrezi which was incredibly hot. I went for the tandoori chicken which didn't arrive on a hot sizzling plate and I found it greasy and very salty. We didn't like the poppadoms either, didn't taste fresh. We have eaten Indian food all over Britain and this was not a good example. We would not go back I am afraid. On the plus side the staff were very friendly and attentive.
