We went here with a party of 9 to celebrate a pre birthday meal. What a wonderful restaurant, very nice décor, ambience and delicious food. The service especially on the part of the manager was excellent with a real personal touch. Thank you we'll be back!

Another lovely meal at Sitara to add to the many we have had over the last five years or so since moving to Ledbury. As always the service was great, the food amazing and the drinks selection good. Whether we stick to our usual or try something new the team are on hand to advise, they can pep the heat up, take it down a notch or two, pretty much nothing is too much trouble for them. Great place, great food, lovely team in place - which is why we keep going back.

I so agree with what Rebecca C wrote earlier. That was just how we found the restaurant to be - 'an absolute gem, superb food, piping hot, clean fresh flavours, impeccable service'. I liked the decor, the friendly manager, the menu and most certainly the food. As someone else has written, there were some unusual offers on the menu which made it so much more interesting. I was very taken with the tandoor cooked swordfish starter, all rolled in fresh coriander. Recommended!

We have eaten at the Sitara Restaurant many times over the years and enjoyed great service and food. This evening 22nd March 2025 was a complete disaster. Our table was booked for 7.30pm and we eventually received our meal at 9.00pm. By then we had lost our appetites so did not do justice to our food, we will not be in any hurry to eat here again. We were not alone in this, the table adjacent left before their food arrived.

This restaurant is an absolute gem, superb food, piping hot, clean fresh flavours, impeccable service. We went on a very busy night after the England rugby match, we had an hour wait for the food but it was worth every second. The staff were rushed off their feet, but were super calm, polite and professional. This is the best Indian food I have tasted in a long time, and the staff were in a class of their own. Their attention to detail was perfect and we were served as if we were the only people in the room with a calm pleasant and friendly and professional manner without the feeling of being rushed - it is a skill for sure. High recommend.

Food was ok thought the biryani needed more vegetable sauce as found very dry be nice too be asked how it all was nothing.

Very welcoming, excellent ambience very busy but service was great. Menu has different choices which I've never seen before, so lots of choice and flavours to choose from. Will be booking again, for a midweek night you need to book as it was full by 7 pm. So great to have such a gem in our area .

Went for a weekend break and booked a table which I'm glad I did because people were getting turned away. Service and food was out of this world. Best Indian I've ever had. Definitely go back if I'm in the area

Excellent food and service as usual.

Firstly it was lovely the staff managed to fit us in on a Friday night on a last minute booking. When we arrived, we were served straight away and the manager also asked us if we were being taken care of. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left the staff took care of us. There was a huge range of dishes on the menu and the food was had was delicious. They were also able to cater one of the dishes to suit my-girlfriend’s preferences. We had poppadums, starters and mains. All food arrived in a good time where we didn’t feel rushed but also weren’t waiting for ages between courses. The dips that can with the poppadoms were a good size and delicious. It was lovely that the manager knew my drink order. Once I had finished my drink, he came over some time later and asked me if I wanted another. It was nice that he knew my order. The atmosphere of the place was nice, it felt like it had class. When we are back in Ledbury, we will certainly return.

Amazing food, very attentive and really good service

We had heard good things about Sitara so decided to go for a Christmas curry when we went to the late night festive event in Ledbury. It’s easy to find on the High St, clean and pleasant environment, friendly and helpful staff. We had all vegetarian options and it was all delicious! We would all definitely return.

The presentation of the restaurant is good. The initial starter of Prawn Puri was good. However, spoilt by my glass of water smelling of bleach. The main course of Butter Chicken was very bland, and Roti's under cooked. Altogether not great. If the rest of the main courses are like this I would give it a miss. It is a popular restaurant however. My local makes it better.

Excellent food. Excellent service very friendly staff. Celebrating my husbands birthday and they gifted him a lovely Indian scotch to try Would recommend and definitely come again when we next visit 5star service!

Me and my wife just stumbled on this place, when we drove passed it looked busy and my wife said we wouldn’t get a table, we tried anyway and when we walked in we where greeted and welcomed, we where shown a table and got some drinks. From the out set the service was really good and the staff as busy as they were pull the effort in. We ordered food and it was well presented and very tasty, it was served on hot plates which is a bonus. This is the best Indian food and service I’ve had in a long time, and coming from Ross on Wye we will now make the drive to this restaurant on a regular basis.

We spent 2 nights in Ledbury and we weren’t sure which Indian Restaurant to dine in. We chose Sitara and went in to enquire if we needed to book for the next evening, a Thursday. The manager said it wasn’t necessary, as Thursdays aren’t as busy as Fridays and Saturdays. We made a booking anyway and arrived earlier, but it wasn’t a problem. Really glad we booked. The restaurant was really busy. The food was excellent and the staff really helpful and friendly. We spoke to some locals before we went and they said we had made the right choice.

Staff put out all the stops to offer an excellent evening out. The food was delicious! We were visiting the area and had a recommendation to go. I am so glad we did!

Excellent food, the dansak was delicious which they even adjusted for me to make it tikka. The 2 starters where also great. The food wasn't greasy either. The staff where excellent and very accommodating. I only had a takeaway but next time in the area I'd love to have a sit in meal. Thank you all Mick

We visited friends in Ledbury who took us to their favourite Indian restaurant, Sitara. They had been very complimentary about it and the expectations that created were fully met. There is a good selection of food and our starters and main courses were excellent, in both palatability and quantity. The service was first class and the atmosphere fine. Next time we visit Ledbury we will be returning.

We booked a table for 4 & we were warmly greeted at the door & shown to our table. The staff were very attentive & took our order for drinks & food. After the drinks arrived there was a short delay before the food arrived. The food was devine & well worth the short delay while it was cooked. The staff were very smartly dressed & very knowledgeable about the food on the menu. I would definitely go back & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sitara to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Ledbury.

Fantastic Indian restaurant, dare I say one of the best I’ve been to in years. The curries are exceptional!

I was staying in Ledbury for a couple of days and a local recommended this restaurant so I ordered a takeaway to collect. I had lamb jalfrezi, sag paneer, mushrooms rice and coconut rice. The food was cooked to perfection with great flavours. I think next time I visit I will use the restaurant as it had a really nice atmosphere and the staff were very polite and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant and take away. Keep up the good work.

Tasty food. One of the best ranges of dips with the poppadoms I've had in a long while. Main meals had lots of flavour and less heat. Peshwari nann not great. Service was good, but they forgot a couple of things but were very apologetic.

Supposed to be the best place to eat in Ledbury. Unfortunately I couldn’t get that far because of the rude staff. Went in at 17:30 for an early dinner and was told they had no staff and I should come back at 17:45. Returned at 18:00 and when I sat down I was told I couldn’t sit where I had sat down and they wanted to put me at the back of the restaurant even though it was empty. Looks like they have become snobs and don’t deserve any customers. Going off to the other Indian instead.

We had a great time; the food is delicious, the staff very friendly and professional. The calm atmosphere is soothing and the very refined decoration is perfect. I highly recommend!!!

Another fantastic evening, The manager is a special man who deserves to do well, he goes above and beyond to make sure its lovely evening. We usually dine as a large family table and it’s not easy to please everyone- toddler, vegetarian, pescatarian and hard core carnivores, everyone leaves in agreement that the food is superb.

An absolute gem of a restaurant. Lovely staff who do all they can to ensure you enjoy your dining experience and are knowledgeable about the menu on offer. Plenty of dishes to choose from that can be spiced up or down to suit your taste. Always delicious. Good selection of drinks too.

Great evening out! The food at Sitara was delicious! We are visiting family in Ledbury and chose Sitara for our evening meal. We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Pasanda, Chicken Curry with Cashews and Green Chillies, and Mushroom Bhaji. We all thought the food was outstanding but particularly enjoyed the flavorful Tikka Masala. The Mushroom Bhaji as a main course was new for us and very tasty. The restaurant has a nice ambience. Waiters are attentive and courteous. We intend to come back on our next visit from the USA!

Absolutely fabulous! The food at Sitara was exquisite! We ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Pasanda, Chicken Curry with Cashews and Green Chillies, and Mushroom Bahji. This is the best tasting Indian food I've had in years! The service and value for money were also excellent and the ambiance pleasant. You will not be disappointed! Our food was absolutely gorgeous we had been before and we’re looking forward to celebrating my husband’s 60 th birthday. The only negative would be the cold unfriendly service could be improved bordering being served by robots . I understand that they have a good reputation for the food and quite right too but shouldn’t get complacent as a smile and a friendly welcome goes along way .

Had dinner with my partner when we visited Ledbury recently . The food was excellent, I really liked the tamarind and chilli dip with the popadoms. The Chicken Jalfrezi was really good, not too hot and had bags of flavour. Will go again if we are ever in the area.

Food was amazing, would recommend the gulabjamun for pudding, service was great- very friendly staff, manager was lovely. Would recommend and definitely go back again!

We went here as it was recommended to us, we live in Cheltenham and everyone in Ledbury says its just fantastic and you will be really looked after here. But we weren’t ! Perhaps we came on the wrong night, the place was exceptionally busy lots of people waiting to pick up takeaways, we were asked to wait as our table wasn’t ready, but there was no where to wait, too many people crammed in already in the small space by the door. When we got to our table we ordered drinks, popadoms, mains and naans. After eating our popadoms we then sat for over an hour before our plates arrived in readiness for our mains, we asked the man who bought them if we could get some drinks but he was in such a hurry, I don’t think he heard us. We then sat there trying to get another waiters attention as they ran through the restaurant with take away bags. When we eventually got our curries we unfortunately weren’t blown away, but were exceptionally hungry. the prawn Jilak was ok nothing special and my husband said the lamb was tender in his but way too much sauce and not much meat. The prices are ok for what we ate and drink prices reasonable too, but I’m not sure our trip over was worth it. We have eaten better and had better customer service. I have no problem waiting for my food when a place is busy, but would like someone to tell me there is a delay and perhaps check in and ask if drinks are needed.

This is the third time our group of 5 has enjoyed an evening at the Sitara. The food is amazing and the service is superb. The front of house manager is a delightful man who does everything he can to ensure the evening is special. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Found this place after a night on the beers, I’d run off from my mates and thought nothing better than a selfish ruby so stopped by. Staff were great, they realised I needed a sneaky Dansak and naan to go and made it snappy. I was away with my sneaky curry in no time, had to scuttle my way back to my hotel room to eat it, ignoring all calls from my mates on the way. I felt ashamed, but not so ashamed my appetite was hampered. Gorging myself on this lovely curry, alone and half dressed in my room was a pleasure. So tasty. In the morning, the guilt kicked in and I tried telling my mates I hadn’t eaten it…but they came in my room and found me with some curry still on my face and some on the bed. So ashamed.

Friendly and attentive staff. Made to feel very welcome .Great choice on menu . Piping hot tasty food. Our favourite Indian restaurant around. Only negative on this visit was the large group of people next to us were a bit noisy at times for us to hear each other speak. Spoilt it slightly.

We moved away from the area 3 years ago, but the opportunity arose, and returned to The Sitara today, atmosphere excellent, service brilliant. Would certainly recommend if you are in the area. Very busy restaurant, we hadn't booked but owner got us a table. Good selection on menu and reasonable prices, food very tasty and good portion sizes. Food was served just right not rushed and time between each course. Waiters and owner were very polite and friendly and never stood still. Definitely worth a visit but probably a good idea to book.

Amazing dinner! Very nice restaurant with very good service. The owner was obviously very much involved, every step of the way. We had the menu for two persons and it was fabulous. We can only highly recommend!

I typically eat here a few times a year and I can honestly say the food and service is impeccable every time. Thoroughly recommend.

7 of us ate there and not one of us enjoyed our meals. All had dicky tummy's. Chicken saag was worst I've ever tried. Cheese naan was the only thing nice. Sorry but need to be said

We came here at 7.30pm on a Sunday night, without a booking, and had to wait 10 minutes or so for a table, and perhaps were a bit lucky to get a table. Service is very good, so is the food, my chicken korma was great (although perhaps a tidge too sugary) my friend's biriani was also very good, and the naan bread was amazing. 2 x mains and 2 x zero% beers came to £35.40 or £40 including tip. It's a nice looking place, quiet, unfussy decor, friendly and efficient service.

The flavors from the poppadom do a well choreographed dance on the tongue. The mango chutney compared favorably to all the homemade varieties I've experienced back home, very well balanced for the western palate. You simply have to try the Kashmiri pilau. Loaded with flavors. Right balance of nuts and fruits. The service and ambiance was impeccable. They either are naturally good or they got some serious training done. If you're near Ledbury, do make a stop here. You will not be disappointed!

Outstanding service. I usually go for korma and though I asked about the fish dishes, I ordered the korma. Danny persuaded me to try the fish although sure the korma was almost ready - he said I could change my mind and I should be more adventurous. This was said in a gentle manner - not pushy. I did try it and it was very good. Lots of nice touches - such as hot tissues to wipe our hands and after eights at the end of the meal. All the staff were very nice and very efficient. One of the best Indian restaurants I've been to.

Came in tonight 14/7/23 for a takeaway meal for 2. Wasn’t expecting the remark from the owner that we received when I got my card out to pay, towards my partner “shame on you” all because I was paying there and then, and not my partner. The food was nice but what a vile owner to make someone feel that way. Very judgemental. Shouldn’t he of just came to take payment and not make such a vile remark. I’m local but my partner has just moved up here to live with me and we were hoping this would be a regular takeaway however after tonight’s experience we’re not planning to come back to be treated this way.

My family and I had a lovely birthday meal at Sitara. The food was all delicious (especially the crispy onion bhajis, mint chicken curry, lamb pasanda) and the waiters and manager were very attentive, polite and friendly (while being under huge pressure due to being short staffed and having a full restaurant!) the manager was also helpful with my sister who has a wheelchair, which we appreciated. The staff really went above and beyond. Lovely business, thanks again.

I have had a takeaway a few times now and each time I’m left underwhelmed. The place is lovely , tidy clean welcoming. The staff are great they go above and bejond . Always polite and accommodating. However for me the food just isn’t quite there . It’s extremely expensive . The nann breads are half size you’d usually get . And every dish tastes somewhat the same . It’s missing abit of ommph . No real deep flavour to each dish . Sheek kebab is bland and all the mains I have tried have just been very bland .

All four of our takeaway meals had tough meat and the sauces were nowhere near usual standard,the bhaji wasn’t great either I have been a customer for years and this is the first time I feel the need to complain. Sitara have always been expensive but I don’t mind because they were the best Very disappointed

This is a lovely place to eat from the minute you walk in to the artwork on the walls. The menu has some different dishes to the usual standard menu though has familiar dishes too. We enjoyed the food and would definitely eat here again...
