The best restaurants in West Midlands

We had high hopes for Palm by H2O, especially given its beautiful interior and upscale vibe, but the experience turned out to be extremely disappointing. From the very beginning, things were off. We waited over 10 minutes after being seated before having to ask for menus ourselves. No one brought them until prompted, which immediately set the tone for poor service. While the starters arrived in good time, the main courses were a disaster. We waited 50 minutes for them to arrive. An appalling delay, especially for a restaurant of this caliber. What made it worse was the confusion and miscommunication from the staff. We were asked if we were ready for mains, to which we said yes, only to sit there for nearly an hour after that. Different waiters gave us different stories: one said the food would be out in 10 minutes, another said the kitchen told them 5 more minutes, and finally, a third admitted the kitchen hadn’t even received the order. This constant back-and-forth and lack of honesty was incredibly frustrating. For a place that looks the part and charges premium prices, the service was shockingly poor. We didn’t appreciate being told fabricated timelines just to keep us pacified. To be fair, the food itself was good but not good enough to make up for the abysmal service and the long, unexplained delays. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning. A nice setting can’t make up for bad service and a disorganised kitchen.

The food was absolutely amazing as always and worth waiting for! Plus the drinks were great. The manager came over to tell us he had taken money off our bill due to a long wait, completely unprompted which was a nice surprise. We love it here and will be back even more! Another fantastic visit, delicious food as always. New visit March 2025, food was absolutely amazing and the service from Nat was just brilliant, new pics added. Well I should have taken a photo but I was too hungry! I ordered a large turkey roast and my husband ordered a large all day breakfast. Food arrived piping hot on a hot plate and was delicious! Couldn’t find fault. It was extremely busy too so great service.

The food was awful, cold by the time it got here after over an hour. Chips were chewy and so was steak. Could see the driver was ready waiting for ages for the food in the restaurant but just took ages for them to make it.

Staff were excellent - particularly Maria but disappointed with the menu - much more by limited than it used to be. What happened to the sticks?

The service was about average, all the staff manly spoke in their own language, used English when serving costumers only! Ordered double Mexican chicken burger, what i got was is , i would only describe a single- but the price of a double! The chicken fillets were very thin! Won't be coming here again!!

Excellent service, great atmosphere and reasonably priced. A fantastic venue for food or just drinks. Highly recommend.

This bs establishment has disgusting hygiene with piling rubbish out back and an open back door with an invitation for rats from their rubbish. I also saw rats in the kitchen. The server was rude and started to click his fingers at me when I was looking after my kid.

Awful! After waiting well over 40 minutes for food we were very disappointed! Ordered the Chicken schnitzel Caesar salad and lamb rump and mini pie duo. Chicken smelt and breadcrumb tasted like fish, croutons were pure grease, 3 shavings of Parmesan and no onions. I sent it back, explained and said been waiting over 40 minutes for it! Offered a dessert, declined! The lamb rump and mini pie duo should be called mini overall, we did have a voucher but it’s meant to be £21.99. Meant to be roast potatoes with rosemary and garlic but were awful and barely any gravy and lamb quality was poor. Didn’t bother complaining about that as just wanted to leave so spent £50 for nothing with drinks which were expensive too. I got a refund for the Caesar salad but I think they should have offered more after such a long wait and the fact that we went for a meal and it was ruined. I wasn’t risking a dessert, the wait again or poor food! Shame as pub looked lovely! Won’t be coming again!

Best in making Ice cream...My Wife and my children are always looking forward for their ice-cream anytime I am coming from work. Excellent customer service and generous portion. Highly recommended.

I would say best Indian in Hereford. Food is so good and staff always so nice. Madras is so tasty

Nice food, only had takeaways so can't comment on the restaurant itself. Ordered more than once. Good value
