Food in general was okay, but 2 meals out of 4 had too much sweetness. Coconut rice was £3.95 and was given not enough for 1 dish. Gin and Tonic was flat and a Pinot Grigio tasted watered down. Service was good, but restaurant was empty. I expected better, since reviews were good. Will not go back there

We visited Mowchak whilst staying in Hereford City Centre. The service, food and staff were excellent. Our visit was so good that we went back the following night and did it all again! That tells you something.

We had a family (3 generations) dinner at Mowchak. As usual the food, service and welcome were excellent. Our grand children particularly enjoyed their Chicken Tikka Masala.

Annual visit en route to Wales for FreeRein riding holiday. We always find that there are friendly staff, excellent food, with great service.

We had an really good meal here. It was a lovely restaurant with a exceptionally friendly and attentive host. We both had onion bhaji for starters. I a lamb madras with freshly made naan, Steve the tandouri mixed grill with chapatti and a phal sauce. All round very good meal.

Brilliant food the staff were lovely and the service was really fast. Would recommend and come back again!

Great food and very friendly and attentive service

This is a welcoming restaurant, clean and fresh. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable offering suggestions and advice. They take the trouble to give excellent service and nothing is too much trouble. The food is of high quality and is delicious every time.

A very good Indian Eatery in Hereford. I’ve eaten at Mowchak many times over the last few years, both in the restaurant and takeaway. The food has always been of an excellent standard - well cooked and seasoned and generous in portion. The service has always been excellent. The owner is extremely personable, taking the time to chat and charm and makes it a very welcoming experience. Some of the other waiters could benefit from being a bit more attentive though, as we were waiting to make our order for a while and were not given plates for our poppadum. Food was quick to arrive and all very fresh. Unfortunately the restaurant has often been quite quiet when I have visited. On the last occasion we were seated near the front and it was very quiet except for the sound of the aircon which made it quite awkward until the music was put on. Previously we have been seated at the back which feels less exposed and it’s great to see the chefs at work and has a lovely atmosphere when more people are in. The restaurant is comfortable and deserves to see more footfall! Excellent food and largely excellent service. Great portion sizes and value for money with lots of veggie options. Huge credit to the owner who is such a lovely man and to the brilliant kitchen team. Will be back again soon!

The food was cold. All the sauces had tipped over in the box. The Bhuna was watery and the chicken tasted rubbery. Will not be ordering from here again. Utterly disappointed with the price I paid for the poor food.

Had a lovely takeaway food was excellent only took half hour to arrive really enjoyed it, Chicken Tikka main dish, Chicken Tikka byriani, peshwari nan and onion bajis, veg curry free with byriani

This is right opposite weatherspoons. The food was excellent, service very good, excellent choice of menu, reasonably priced, owner very amenable and chatty. I would definitely go back, booked on line, I did not realise reply had gone into junk. I rang them and they confirmed it was booked and e mail had been sent. It was my fault I did not check all messages.

Love the food normally .but food wasn’t the best today ..and mint yogurt very very vinegary hopefully off day

THE BEST INDIAN FOOD I HAVE EVER HAD. Visited on a Saturday night. Amazing atmosphere, the food was delicious, flavoursome, fresh and hot! Sharif was so unbelievably welcoming and really made me and my family feel at home! Truly such an amazing man! Will definitely be back when I am in the area!

Once again, an excellent meal. Husband ordered Jalfrezi for a change. Peppers were so so hot! He removed them, but still enjoyed his meal too.

Was cold when it arrived - not sure if this was because it was prepared a while before delivery, but everything was soggy. The curries were extremely watery and chips not cooked properly.

Food always good. In the past a couple of poppadoms and a dip were included in your takeaway. They now charge for them and up sell you a chuckney tray. Jalsagor for my takeaway next time.

We were a big group and were served swiftly, with great food, lovely service great people would definitely recommend for the best curry in town! Our favourite was our host Sharif a lovely guy went above and beyond for a great experience. 100% recommend

Takeaway. Food Luke warm - not surprised as it took 2 hours to be delivered! When we called to enquire where it was we were told they only had 1 delivery driver. Shouldn't have take our order then!

Ordered from here every month since it opened with previous owners Mo and current owners. Never had an issue and always correct order. Today made a £38 order asked for 6 poppadoms with extra yoghurt sauce with onions, 2 x shisk kebab starters 2 curry and 2 nann. Simmilar order to every other order we have made. Got home and have 2 small tubs of yoghurt sauce for 6 poppadoms and 2 starters. Phoned to say they had not given the extra paid for yoghurt sauce to be told the 2nd one was the extra one that I paid for. Argued with me that's always been the case, that I only ordered 1 extra sauce. That Yoghurt sauce doesn't come with shisk kebabs, red sauce comes with shisk kebabs. Given 1/2 small pot of red sauce for 2 starters. Never once did they apologise for not communicating this or for asking how many yoghurt sauces were required. Insisted that's what they provide, that they were not wrong and that is what they always provide.we have never had this experience with our many previous orders. No customer service, no attempt to resolve the matter by offering more yoghurt sauce that we could collect , despite me stating our continious regular orders for many years from them. Simple issue that they could have resolved, cutomer service attitude ruined our experience and we won't be using the takeaway service again. Such a shame that your customer service attitude over 25p half filled pots of yoghurt sauce have lost regular loyal monthly income .

Wonderful experience. Well decorated, comfy and clean. Sadly deserted which I cannot understand given the quality of the food. We had 3 curries and naans. All were excellent, flavourful and well sized. Naans were perfect. Staff were friendly and attentive and it's Good value for money. Thoroughly recommend and we will absolutey be returning.

Lamb ribs, dry, flavourless, been pre cooked. Curry, hardly any meat, just a generic red sauce, rice was watery. Portion size on sides is a joke. Won’t be using again.

I would’ve hoped they took longer to deliver more time to cook. The chips were not cooked food, very bland.

Stone cold. Like literally cold. Was dumped on doorstep with no knock or call. Heated food up and quality very poor. Will stick to Marygold.

It was a really lovely meal although not very hot due to length of time getting to us. It was a Friday night so the hour they gave was doubled by the time we got the delivery. Despite delivery problem it was a very nice tasting meal and I would definitely order it again.

We went last night to celebrate my son’s birthday. The service and attention was 100% fantastic. The food was fresh and absolutely delicious, my Bombay Chicken Spinach was incredibly detailed and beautiful, I was a bit emotional about it, yes, I know… but I just wasn’t expecting the specialness of it. Abu, our waiter, was so friendly and caring and just a joy. Thank you Abu. And, the bill was for 5 people and incredibly great value for what we had! I don’t usually leave reviews but felt I had to. Thank you to you all at Mowchak. You made our dinner a very special one.

The food from Mowchak is so good. Unfortunately we didn’t receive the rice. We had plenty of everything else to go around but please check before sending.

Welcomed at the door and everyone greeted us kindly and looked after us. We bought drinks to have while we waited and were asked to sit down while we waited. Everything arrived quickly and we couldn't wait to tuck in! Really tasty food - especially the prawns. Plenty for another meal and containers all ready to store it. Highly recommended for eat-in and take-away.

Ordered a samosa chaat as a takeaway dish, came as literally one samosa with some ripped up lettuce and bombay mix? definitely not worth almost £5 lol but rest of the food was very nice good service

Second time I've ordered here. Though the food is great (though luke warm) the delivery was very late again, with weak excuses. Was absolutely starving when it got here an hour late.

Missing naan bread, food was cold, took over an hour and a half to deliver on a Thursday night.

Meat was very good quality, salad was a little limp but the main event was worth it. Meat all well cooked.

Decent food !! Almost close to authentic Indian food

Food arrived late and was stone cold. Delivery driver did apologise and said there had been a mix up at the restaurant, disappointing though after spending almost £40. Once we microwaved the meal, it tasted nice. Would have sent it back, but after waiting 90mins for it to be delivered we were just hungry! Sad, as have heard good things about this place.

Usually can’t be bothered to leave reviews but have felt I had to after my last few experiences. First of all the food quality from Mowchak was ok, however £25 for two curry’s, some rice and a few popadoms seemed steep considering this was despite a 20% discount, I do concede that this included the delivery cost and the service charge which seems a joke as I know JustEat charge the restaurants a percentage. However food delivered at 21:30 when ordered at 20:00 wasn’t great, especially as it was

Was staying in Hereford for a couple of days with friends , chose Mowchak for our evening meal. We were made to feel very welcome by Sharif and his staff. The food was very tasty and full of flavour. Had a lovely evening would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Estimated delivery before order was 30 - 50 mins, after I ordered was 1.5 hrs but actually took nearly 2hrs. Not great when i have kids waiting for dinner. Actually had to give my youngest a sandwich for dinner so he could go to bed. Poppadoms and onion bhaji tasted stale but everything else was great

This is by far the best Indian restaurant and takeaway in Hereford. The food is absolutely sublime - every dish is made from the freshest and highest quality of ingredients - that includes the quality of meat that is used. I wish to mention that the staff, in particular Shak, are genuinely friendly people and offer the very warmest of welcomes to ensure that you are well looked after. That cannot be said of very many eating establishments these days.

Unfortunately all the food was very cold after being 30 minutes late. The rice was bland & the general quality poor compared to other local Indian restaurants.

Very nice food, super friendly staff, good value. Visited for the first time but will definitely go again. From the front and by the bar it looks as if they only do takeaways or deliveries, but once past the many sofas and through the corridor, past the window where you can wave at the chefs in the kitchen, there is a large restaurant. Decor is kept to a minimum but lighting is appropriate and great for casual dine out. Also convenient for larger groups, as staff will arrange tables as required. Must book!

I'd 100% recommend Mowchak if you're looking for great Indian food! Was very relaxed, clean and modern inside. Staff were friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend the Bombay special – can't remember exactly what it was called but it had chicken tikka and a delicious sauce full of spices.
