We ordered a takeaway at 6.05 and were advised to come in 40 minutes, the food wasn’t handed over until after 7.30 - 45 minutes late and the service in the restaurant was poor and either under staffed or unable to deal with the number of covers. We’ve been using this restaurant for 8 years but no more. Shocking experience and no there were coming back with food missing!

Came here last Saturday for my birthday meal.. with the family absolutely brilliant it was... Ordered lamb bhuna and butter chicken... Naan was amazing.. The service was brilliant and the manager came to wish me happy birthday.... Best restaurant in Lichfield... Please visit

We had a wonderful meal here on a rainy Thursday evening. The food was absolutely incredible, full of flavour, taste and a real joy for the taste buds. The menu was vast with lots of different meal options in addition to the curry classics. We had very prompt and attentive service from all the team at the restaurant. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and was busy, which is always good. We will absolutely be going back for more very very soon!!!

I'd like to call myself a regular now as I have been returning to this restaurant for over 8 years now! I've NEVER had a disappointing time, meal or experience! The staff are amazing, attentive and appear just at the right time when you need them. A special mention to Tracey tonight as she went above and beyond to be the perfect hostess! Thankyou Tracey! This restaurant is definitely THE place to go for a curry in Herefordshire.

Went after reading such good reviews on trip advisor but don’t be fooled. I decided to leave an honest review…… We arrived to a cramped table, it was so loud and not even busy really. Starters came and were totally tasteless, was so hungry decided to just eat them, the onion Bhaji texture was nice and that was all the positive I can say, didn’t taste of anything, neither did the mixed starter. Then before I could even put my fork down my plate was taken from me as I was asked had I finished……. Main came, sauce was nice but chicken meat awful. Not like chicken tikka at all, like precooked tasteless meat and the naan was like one from a packet as dried up over the heated tea light stand. We decided what was the point in saying anything and left. I’ve had a bad stomach all night now too. Total waste of time and money, avoid!

One of the best indian meals i've ever had. I imagine, like with everything there are strenghts, but the staff clearly care about providing a good service and the food I selected was delicious.

First time eating here. It was a great evening. Food was wonderful but we just couldn't eat all the main course as the starter was huge. Note to self... bypass the starter next time. We definitely recommend.

Went here for my brother in law's birthday for balti night food was fantastic as always except brought out the wrong curry for myself. the waiter who took our order was very rude. Basically threw the dessert on the table, spoke to me rudely taking our order. Other staff were absolutely fine. Also long time waiting for starters and even forgot to bring the table out next to us. They weren't even busy and service was terrible tonight

Really disappointed with food and service. Remnants of food on side plate, food was oily and husband was really ill after having a prawn dish, worst Indian meal I have tried in the area.

This is reliably the best Indian Restaurant in Lichfield. Food is excellent - so tasty, well presented and generous portions. The Sunday Balti night and Wednesday banquet deals are really good value. I'm looking forward to my next visit! 😋

Having visited several times previously, Lahl Bagh didn’t disappoint and provided amazing food and service for a booking for 12 ladies on a busy Friday night, all food came out at the same time and tasted amazing! We find they are always polite, attentive and with such a choice in the menu, there is something for any taste and we are very happy this is our local!

Fantastic food and generous portions. I would highly recommend visiting this business. The lamb dishes were especially worthwhile.

This is by far the best indian restaurant for miles , I live in Tamworth where we have alot of restaurants & we have eaten in all of them at some point ,some of them are very good but not as good as lal bagh , the food is excellent the staff are lovely the restaurant is very clean , its totally worth travelling the 9 miles for this experience .would highly recommend xx Unfortunately I have changed my ☆'s on this review. We haven't visited lal bagh for a couple of years & my god what a change. The staff apart from a couple were almost rude & not welcoming at all. The curry's were probably the worst any of us have had full of oil. The starters were ok. 5 poppadoms £10 😳 the sauces had bits in them as though they'd been used before & not fresh. After we payed for our meal we decided we'd like another drink. Asked if we could & much to the waiters dismay bought us another drink followed by the bill & stood over us till we payed. Definitely WONT be going there again. They have gone from being my all time favourite Indian to my least favourite

Our favourite Indian restaurant, friendly staff and fantastic food. Consistently good every time we come over the years.

One and half hours after arriving our meal order was taken and a further hour before it was served. We visited this restaurant on Saturday (02/03/24). A reservation, for 14 of us, had been made sometime in advance. We arrived on time and in one group. We were there to celebrate a friend's birthday and all bar one had travelled up to 5 hours to get there. We were greeted warmly, shown to our table and shortly afterwards menus were brought to us. Within a few minutes, a drinks order was taken and served. We were then informed that meal orders would be taken in 10 minutes. It was one and half hours to take the order. During this wait, no explanation was given. The restaurant also offered a takeaway option and we were aware of a number of people waiting for their take-away meals and overheard one person stating that they had waited for an hour. The quality of the meal, when served, two and a half hours later, was fine.to politely and calmly, to what appeared to be the senior waiter our disappointment at the waiting period. We asked what recompense they thought could be offered. This led to the waiter repeating, for 15 minutes or so, a mantra of 'we are sorry, we cook everything from fresh'. My experience and that of my friends is that restaurants that we visit do cook things from fresh ingredients, but we hadn't ever had to wait for 2.5 hours. The apology itself was so well rehearsed it suggested not only that this was a frequent occurrence but also delivered with the same sincerity as that of a 7-year old child being told off for the umpteenth time for picking their nose. We were then told informed that the manager wasn't on site, and lived many miles away, was given a telephone number of the restaurant, but they couldn't say when he might visit. Insultingly, they offered a single free drink to one person. Additionally, they suggested that if we didn't like it we could have just left. We informed the waiter that we would pay, dividing the bill between ourselves. We paid and he then said we were £40 short and instructed his colleague to 'lock the door'. We recalculated our payments demonstrating that we were correct. He checked his calculations and told us to go, again without an apology for his incorrect totalling of our payments. At one pint he said to us that there were only two people in the kitchen. I understand the need for business's to maximise their turnover, but when they start to take more orders than they can cope with there should be a point where they say no or inform their customers of abnormal and unacceptable delays. In the above circumstance it is usual, in my experience in customer service, for a business to make a sincere apology, in recognition of their customer's poor experience and offer a recompense, rather than an attitude of 'take it or leave it'.

After reading the reviews I decided to book this for my wife's birthday. How wrong was I . The most tasteless meal we'd had in ages, we complained but was answered with a sarcastic answer .My dish was full of duck skin no Meat and seemed to have been boiled rather than fried then just added to the flavourless sauce and served almost cold .My wife and daughter couldn't eat their meals and left well over half ,rice cold too .Will not be returning , be warned as no discount is offered when you inform the staff. We just paid and couldn't wait to leave.

Arrived for our meal. Restaurant was cold, so not a good start. Order taken, arrived within a reasonable time. Curry was just awful, bland and gloopy. The meat was tough, peshawari naan's arrived half way through our meal. Everything was rushed and forgotten. We left half of our meals then complained about our meal and the waiter asked why we didn't complain earlier. "because we couldn't get your attention, because of how busy you were" 🙄. He then proceeded to argue the fact that duck is fatty say and where did we get our duck from? Never again!! rude, bland and awful service along with a cold dining area.

Usually our favourite but won’t be going back for a while. Ordered our food at half 7 didn’t come home till 10:30. Food was cold. Poor time management. Under staffed. Food was incomplete, missed 3 things off our order. Found chicken bones in my Bombay Palak and chicken was way over cooked. Won’t be going back!!!

highly recommended Lal bagh. I tried some of different Indian cuisine in Lichfield. Among of them lal bagh is best for them food quality. For Biryani Lover i will recommend The Chicken Tikka Biryani. Taste and Flavour is just amazing.

I’ve ordered from this restaurant 5 or 6 times in the past couple of years. Always excellent food. Some of the best takeaway curry I’ve ever had. There never forgotten any item when delivering. Prices are very reasonable too. Top notch!

Had a takeaway again absolutely disgusting prawn balti the prawns are off the nan bread is like eating flour the week before they gave me a ckickicken balti I threw it in bin opened it cracked in oil the prawns curry they gave me the prawns are rotten the nan bread not cooked properly it's like eating a load of flour the whole food is disgusting I grew up in Birmingham I know wot is good food and this is fit for the bin do not eat at this place you will be bad they gave me a prawn balti you would get food poisoning absolutely rotten curry house do not eat from this place you woi be ill

We LOVE the Lal Bagh. It’s the best Indian cuisine we’ve EVER eaten….and we’ve tried a lot of restaurants all over the UK and the US. We come here every time we visit from the States, which probably makes us the longest-distance “regulars.”

Ate here for the first time 18/12, definitely won’t be the last time, plentiful choice on the menu, portion size huge (well for me it was). The flavours were spot on, really could not fault.Just the right amount of attention. Sometimes, this place could be a 5* all over. On its day, it's outstanding. However, they let themselves down at times. That being said if I was put and about and someone suggested the lal bagh for food I wouldn't object.

Absolutely awful we have tired these 2 times the first time we waited 1h30 and the food was freezing they refused to do anything, second time we waited 2h10 they kept hanging the phone down, and the food was again freezing, i would completely avoid.

amazing food, extremely authentic and a large range of food on the menu, I loved the korma and onion bhaji, the staff were lovely as well. Although the place was packed and somewhat hard to move around, the service didn't suffer at all, our food came out so quickly and we couldn't get enough of it .

Top quality Indian food. The best curry I've had out in a long time. Really great flavour and not swimming in ghee, like a lot of Indian food can be. We had a prawn vindaloo and a chicken dish which was a chefs special. Both were top notch. Was very busy when we came but the fitted us in promptly. The service was friendly and excellent. I've used Lal Bagh means white tiger by the way, for 4 years now. They deliver to me in Handsacre, sometimes i collect. The food is absolutely gorgeous love my Lamb Rogan Josh vindaloo hot, lots of big chunks of lamb amazing. Very hot n spicy. Keema pilau rice is the best. There's alot of flavours going on at lal bagh. They give plentiful and quality this is why i return everytime. Even my work friends have switched to lal bagh. Love you guys keep up the good work.

We put our food order in advance (at 6:24 pm for 8:10 pm)and it was over an hour late. We called them so many times and we heard is that it is Saturday night and they are really busy. When the order arrived after an hour and 20 minutes late, they got one of the orders wrong as well. Never again.

I came here on a Saturday evening about 7pm. I had a delicious meal, great onion bhajis, great fish curry with pilao rice and sag aloo. It is the best I have had in a while. The restaurant is very well staffed and the kitchen certainly knows what it is doing. 10 out of 10 from me.
