The Fox at Shipley in South Staffordshire

Food was lovely, very filling. The staff were wonderful, made lots of fuss of my dog, plus even helped walked my Mom to the car. So warm and friendly place. Christmas decorations were also great 👍 x

What a gem, had the mixed grill which was incredible! Used it as a writing place and was perfect. Will defo be back!

Lunchtime visit. We were seated in the corner with a wonky table. Food was average but two things we ordered were not available. Service was quick but one member of staff was surly. We were disappointed as we had always heard good things about The Fox.

This is a lovely pub with great staff providing good value, tasty food. The atmosphere and comfortable dining areas are ideal for couples or groups of people. I thoroughly recommend this pub

Great place, we hadn't been for years but we will definitely be back! Every dish was delicious, great drinks and great friendly service from Dom, Millie, Cameron and Emily.

Nice place to enjoy a lovely meal, there wasn’t much choice on the lunchtime menu (my opinion) but was more to choose from on the evening one. Meals were basic but enjoyable. Atmosphere was good, plenty of parking spaces but only two disabled. I didn’t see a ramp up to entrance only steep steps, but not saying there wasn’t one as I’m sure there is somewhere. Overall was good.

Just been for Sunday lunch and the food was really good the size of the portion was really good must have been a good 8oz plus of beef really good value for money the staff were pleasant and friendly and a good atmosphere

Great food and service, as always. Very accommodating for my sons 8th birthday.

Welcomed on arrival and quickly seated. Ordered food and waited about 25 mins which is good for a busy Sunday afternoon service. Food was very nice with no issues. Sunday dinners are massive so if you're a light eater may be better to go for a lite bite option. Overall, staff very friendly and food was good. Will return.

Takeaway Sunday Roast, either Turkey or Beef and range of Vegas etc. Collected at time agreed, and completed within a few minutes. Excellent value

Popped in for a light lunchtime drink and something to eat. A couple of ciders and a beef lasagne each hit the spot just the job great fast service and friendly staff. Food was tasty and the cider was very refreshing sitting outside in the 🌞 sunshine.

Celebrated a lovely lady’s 80th birthday, food was lovely too, staff were brilliant, very helpful and friendly, nice to see so many smiley faces.

Came here with family - atmosphere was buzzing! Service was really friendly, they couldn't do enough to help you. It was great that we were able to have a tab at the bar as we were a large party. Food was absolutely lovely (I fitted in a dessert even though I was full!) and drink was good quality. I had a steak which I asked for medium rare - it came out perfect and I'm a fussy steak eater!! None of us had a bad meal which was great. Reasonably priced too - would highly recommend. We will be meeting family here again, that's for sure! Thank you for a lovely evening x

A great place for your tea. Food is good and good value for money. The place itself is looking a little tired though.

A very busy place, managed to find a table as nothing inside. Glad the weather was good to be able to sit outside with our pet. Otherwise we had to wait for inside seating till 5pm.

It has been years since we were last here. It has been revamped and very well done. Staff were great especially Viv who greets you at the door. She was a great help with my allergies. There is plenty of choice on the menu, food was well cooked and piping hot. There is a good play area for children, and a large car park. Would recommend you pay a visit, you won't be disappointed.

Just place to go and have dinner did with friends. The garlic bread I wouldn't order again as it was not the best.

Had a nice meal at the fox hadn't been for a fair few years was more expensive than it used to be no more 2 for 10 which I think it used to be, I. The daytime now it's a 12 till 6 menu now which was nice but still pricey compared to some places would recommend to food was cooked to perfection and tasted really nice thanks for a nice meal 😆

Have only been once, but the food was great, and the staff was super helpful and friendly. They even customised my meal for me. Turning a sizzling plate into a fajita dish. There was a lot. Even though the paté starter was tasty, I probably wouldn't have it again as the main is so big! Excellent value for money.

Mixed grill shocking unable to eat steak and pork as.steak knife wouldn't even cut through the meat , I would say over price for quality of food.

Great food, fast service. Long wait to order at the bar, need the waiting staff to take dessert orders.

Had roast beef dinner, food was good but, before I had eaten half of it the food was getting cold I think it must have been sent out on a cold plate. I was asked how my meal was I said my food wasn't warm, the reply I had was sorry and that they would tell the kitchen. Not sure that made my food any warmer. My advice is if you go there and your plate isn't hot, then your food won't be either. Send it back.

The food and premises are very nice. I don't go often and probably wouldn't go much in the summer as the beer garden is spoilt by the idiots who use the Bridgnorth Road as a race track in the evening. Very noisy and possibly dangerous.

Went for Sunday lunch, it was fantastic , the plate was loaded, excellent lunch and service.

Arrived as a chance without booking at about 5pm and was seated without waiting. Order food and drinks at bar. Food was your usual pub grub. Good selection of drinks. Staff are very friendly. Finished our drinks outside as it was a nice day. Good pub 🍻👍

My son treated me to lunch for my birthday and we decided to try the Fox at Shipley as we hadn’t visited for many years. We weren’t disappointed. A lovely place with friendly staff serving delicious food from a comprehensive menu. I had the cottage pie followed by a wonderful Biscoff Sundae! Highly recommended! The only issue for us was the awful modern music (typical whiny auto tuned vocals) being piped into the dining area. Strange choice given that the majority of diners seemed to be of an older demographic. A minor, if irritating glitch to an otherwise very pleasant experience.

Had the bbq sizzler 3 days ago and boy my jaw still aches from chewing it. Service was great and staff were polite

The staff are welcoming and so helpful there is a lady at front of house name Vivian she is the most helpful and plesent lady I have cone across for many years in the Hospitality sector

Very disappointed. I had a roast beef dinner and it was dreadful. Beef seemed to be processed not proper roast beef. Presentation was very bad. The tiny parsnip was burnt and the meal was absolutely swimming in gravy. I would expect gravy to be in a little boat. No one bothered to ask if the meal was OK. Not very good customer service. Staff seemed like they were working under sufferance. Didn’t like the decor either. I won’t return. I have just found out they serve crocodile and zebra. At first I thought it was a joke! Some people might think that’s good but it’s a real turn off for me. Had I known that I would not have stepped inside the door.

Popped in for an impromptu drink,what a lovely place, mainly a food place I would say as all tables were fully booked.We were found a seat at the bar and watched as the food came out which looked fantastic,also a seating area outside with a kids play area

A simple pub lunch for myself and wife selected from an extensive menu at superb value for money prices. The food was tasty served by welcoming and warming staff.

Our first visit to this lovely country pub, food was excellent, hubby had the gammon & chips and I had the chicken tikka masala with chips, was plentiful and freshly cooked. Shall be returning again with our friends.

Think the chef had a night off when we went - everything was frozen and overcooked. Breaded mushrooms were like bullets on the outside and slimey mush inside, vegetables inedible - more tasteless watery mush. I'll drive past next time

Beautiful place, delicious food, quaint, staff effective and friendly. Good prices, fresh food too! Only concern is I found a bone in my chicken breast, as nobody checked if food was okay I didn't have the opportunity to say. I had the Texan BBQ Chicken- will definitely have it again! But other than that, really great experience will return again.
