Lovely atmosphere in thie canalside pub, nice choice of beer. Food basic but nice and good value for money, wait times alittle longer than I'd expect and all meals didn't come out together. But other than that I like it here😊

Good selection of beers. Service not great . When I asked for a large glass of blush wine and pointed to a bottle in the fridge, I was told they wouldn't open it and had to have a different wine from a small bottle of a different wine.

Didn't eat so can't comment, although it was very busy with Sunday diners so I imagine it's v nice. I love this proper pub on the canal, a hive of traditional activity, with walkers and their doggos, and diners alike. Relaxed, warm and friendly, just how a pub should be.

We came on a whim not knowing if they were dog friendly or still serving food. The kitchen was open till 3 we arrived at 2:30pm & staff were more than accommodating to seat us & offer the lunch menu. The menu has a good selection but not too much which I prefer. The atmosphere was welcoming & accepting both staff members cheerful & helpful. We had a coffee, 2 lime & sodas, two meals & a starter less than £30. It was all served hot & hearty. Ours bigger than our belly so we were able to take some home. Highly recommend come rain or shine we thoroughly enjoyed it, we will be back

Friendly staff. Reasonable beer prices. Good place to stop off for a pint on the canal walk. Cheese baguette reasonable price. Then read reviews of owner (previous owner???) banned from serving food again just 2 weeks ago. Customers happily eating so I think the pub need to clarify if ownership has changed and what their current food hygiene rating is. The decor and furniture is very 70s, which adds a certain charm. But new carpet and spruced up furniture wouldn't go amiss.

Oh dear. The owner has just been banned from ever owning a food business again so if you see even just a cob for sale get this reported. Putrified mice found behind the beer pulls, incorrect use of cutting boards, food hygiene non existent, dirt and mould found in the kitchens. After investigation, they have given him years to sort this out and he just hasn't bothered. Wouldn't visit here again if you paid me! Hopefully business will dwindle and the owner will have to sell to someone who will not put the patrons at risk of serious illness and look after the pub as it has so much potential.

I can only rate 4 stars as I've never eaten here. This traditional pub is becoming a regular stop on one of my increasingly frequent towpath walks - I'm recently retired. A good selection of ales served by welcoming staff. It can get justifiably busy in good weather. The benches 'over the road' could do with an overhaul and I think more could be made of the fact that this is a canalside pub; more outside seating to the canal side of the building maybe? In winter it's a lovely cosy and homely place to sit. Recommended, but it can be busy.

Given it's location, they sound make better use of the outside space, especially the garden along side the canal. The interior decor is dated and could do with some capital spent, however the service was great and the food was very tasty. A good pint of Enville served here.

Came for Sunday lunch today and booked over a week ago was advised we only had table for 2 hours which was ok . Just finished our lunch which I will say was lovely but after 3/4 of an hour 2as told they needed the table so was not impressed at all. So if you want to eat and go it's ok but if you want a relaxing Sunday lunch stay away. In the week staff are lovely but today need customer service training, person with long blonde hair very rude.

A lovely pub which serves great ales and other drinks besides lagers and ciders. They serve food have some nice seating inside and there is seating available outside too. The car park is opposite though for a country pub next to a canal there is no real canalsode seating unless you are willing to brave the sloping older benches. Be careful crossing the road its is busier and quicker than you may think. The staff here are great too. Pop in and have a drink when you are in the area
