Great chippy, friendly owner / staff, and amazing food! I had to deliver something in this area, and before I even went in, the smells coming out of here were honestly amazing / enticing! So on the trip home, I paid them a visit! - The owner was super friendly (and the fish was fantastic - REALLY tasty btw!) - I ordered a large fish and chips, and was surprised to be asked if I wanted battered chips or normal ones... Now, I've tried battered chips near me (in Yardley), after friends raved about battered chips. The ones I'd tried near home looked like normal chips, couldn't taste and even SEE any difference - the tiniest bit of something on them... Figured... meh... So the owner suggested I try half and half... LET ME TELL YOU, I finally see why people rave about PROPER battered chips, done properly... These chips were a lovely slightly darker, golden orange'y colour, a fine coating of batter on them, and yes, they were super tasty! - couldn't get enough of them - I'm now sold! Also, the price was great - I had the large fish 'n' chips for my wife and I to share, and a roe, and I think the total was £11-£12 - very reasonable given the quality, and the fish was a good size... I wish them all of the best - they deserve it, but just lamenting that they're not my local! 😢 Highly recommended!

Had to google a decent chippy localy as none in the area half decent, tried bilbrook last week just a 5 minute drive in the car, so glad we tried absolutely delicious, fish was golden crispy batter and pure white fish. Chips were either battered or plain, hot very tasty and generous too. Returned for a second visit tonight, just delicious.

Too expensive just for a cone of chips. The food is not that good to be tht expensive

My wife always says it's on our doorstep and therefore should support our local shops. Tonight we/I did just that. I am so glad I chucked some non comfies on and made the trek up the road. Food was very tasty, cooked to order some of our food and it was all the better for waiting for. Piping hot and so very flavoursome. In fact every time I do make the effort it's worth it. Sorry Just Eat thats another client that's gone back to collecting... 9.5/10..

It’s a great chippy and Nick is a top bloke. Yes, prices are up and portion size is down but that’s happening everywhere - this is still one of the best F&C shops around and has a wide selection of items.

A very clean and well presented Local Chippy. The menu offered is extensive with something for everyone. I settled on a Lamb kebab meat with chips which got the obligatory upgrade to battered chips and came with salad and chilli sauce. The portion was generous and it was all cooked to perfection. Very tasty, I polished off the lot. Would definitely go again.

first time ordering from here on Wednesday I like how you have the option of either plain or battered chips I had a mini fish and chips with a small curry sauce for £7 good price and I went with battered chips, the fish was nice it was in slices and that is how fish is suppose to be, the battered chips were nice and so was the curry sauce, next time I order from this chippy I will try the plain chips even though I live in Fordhouses I don't mind coming to this chippy now and then

If i could put 10* i would, best chippy about! Food was beautiful, my dad even tried to have his gfs left overs because it was that good lol!

Very expensive tiny portions, has really gone downhill. Food is dry and chips are extremely oily. Do not recommend

Love this chippy. Don't live in the area but myself and my daughter still go once a week/fortnight. Staff are lovely and food is beautiful.

I’ve been going to this chippy for the last seven years and never had a problem Until the last 3 months. As the cost of living is affecting us all I changed my usual order of chicken kebab meat and chips with salad in a tray for A special ( was supposed to be priced cheaper) chicken and mushroom pie and chips in a tray. I took the receipt and worked out I was charged the exact singular prices of each item ( where was my special cheaper price ) Disappointed I decided not to go again. However my husband said maybe they’re having a bad day and to try again. I reverted back to my usual, when I opened my Tay at home I was disappointed again , the tray was half empty with just trinkets of small chicken which I searched for between the chips . Determined again not to go , I went again last night and it was the same In a nutshell the food has become bland and they serve it cold. Portions are a lot smaller with higher prices I had 4 square pieces of 1 tiny cucumber slice in my salad and hardly any chilli sauce . I’ve given them the benefit of doubt and they have still not changed anything. The staff are friendly and really don’t know what they’re doing . I wish I had taken a photo to show you just how less I had in my tray . Bit of advice watch them when they doing your order. They don’t put much in the trays at £7.50 for a large too. I won’t be going back!!!

terrible food i had a donner wrap i will never go there again and didn't like staff

Pulled up to get a bite to eat. I was given a choice of battered or normal chips but the battered weren't ready so decided to wait, 5 min later they were served and oh it was worth the wait beautiful taste not to wet they were light and fluffy absolutely beautiful. Also had a roe and mushy peas all for a fiver. Good sized portions and the lady who served me was very pleasant and helpful. I fully recommend Billbrook chippy great food.

This place has really gone downhill spent half the night pickin through the bag of chips to find half decent ones to eat pie was like it had been cooked 6 hours ago sausage bland Everything now tastes cheap but costs a fortune

Not quite our local but close enough to be our go to chip shop as it just is, that good. Lovely food as far as deep fried food goes, their battered chips are absolutely amazing. A couple of the servers will go above and beyond, making your experience a pleasurable one. Others seem like every day is a bad day, I'd recommend some down time for them, they need re-energising, poor souls. Back to the food, very good portions, decent enough price for this day and age with inflation. Mixed meat with chips gets you a mountain of meat. Best eaten on the go or pull up and eat ASAP to remain the crispness of any deep fried foods. Definitely recommend to anyone in or around the area.

Top Quality Chippy in whole of Wolverhampton i have to say.. As a driving instructor I vist many take aways chippys for good take away.. I must admit from wv to wv bilbrook chippys passionate clean professional and fresh and flavor-some Cod, salad, chips, sausage in batter every thing i have tried here is fab and enjoyable indeed I always look forward to enjoying my take away from these guys.. The owner is very passionate in serving good food well presented in good wrapping it matters when food is clean cooked in fresh oil..and presented in good practical wrapping, hard working cook and cares about his top quality food...well done bilbrook chippy. Great fish, chips and mushy peas

This is our third visit. The previous two we had to queue in the car park the fish and chips were really good. This time they were quiet no queue. We were really disappointed with the fish and chips, the chips were so soggy they looked like mush and the batter on the fish was so hard and the fish was over cooked so tough. At around £20 I would expect better. No more visits for me.

I used to drive past this place to get fish n chips from my regular place..l did the usual drive past but my usual fish n chip shop was closed so in desperation l drove back and got fish n chips from here. They were the best fish n chips I’d had for a long time. How glad l am that my usual place was closed cause l will no longer drive on by.

I visit this Fish & Chip shop every couple of weeks and we’re never disappointed. Quick and courteous service, piping hot food, reasonably priced. (We always order the same, cod and chips with mushy peas). Would highly recommend.

It's our fish and chip shop of choice. Consistently good.

Used a few times recently as we've moved locally. The food is very good (although the mini fish are VERY mini), but I've always had to wait (between 5 and 15 minutes) for either chips or fish to cook. It's a double edged sword I guess as at least you know it's fresh, but have the inconvenience of standing around waiting for it. Edit: Subsequent means haven't been great to be honest and service is still slow, so have reduced to 3 stars.

Totally over priced and vile! £4 for a large bag of chips! What's so special about them? Also they said the do the proper chip shop mushy peas, they ain't at all they're tinned and £1.50 a pot. Stay well clear of this place I will not be going back!!

One of the best chip shop around, the staff are very helpful, food always consistent, and the salad bar is extremely fresh, birches bridge and Bilbrook are my go too chip shops when in the area!

Quality chippy, everything ordered was hot, tasted fresh and didn't break the bank. The fact they had just started taking card payments saved the day as I had forgotten my wallet and could use Google pay. Defo my favorite chippy at the minute

Just devoured haddock and chips. Ordered over the phone so it was waiting when I arrived. Plenty of staff who always look clean and the place was spotless. The haddock was enormous and delicious, I may need to have a lie down now!

Really rude staff. Especially the girl with the red hair. Barely aknowledged me. Made me feel like my custom wasn't required. I will not be eating there again. Why bother when you can go on just eat and not have to put up with rude staff.

I haven’t been to my local chippy in “Billbrook for a while I order large Fish and chips and gave a £10a and got £1.70 back........? I had to check I was still in Wolverhampton and not Central London I’m sorry but for a local Chip shop its ridiculous and overpriced I won’t be going there again I’ll go somewhere else

I have used Bilbrook fish bar for nearly 2 years and they have always had the best battered chips . But the last few times they have been very poor just lumps of batter with a tiny bit of potato in the middle . Think they have new owners . Not good

No potato fritters when I went... Had a sausage instead. Then saw a sausage on a scratch card . Won 2 quid. So paid for sausage. Nice chips too btw

Brilliant food and really happy friendly staff

Every time I have gone back, I have been disappointed. I had a bad stomach off the pie. Scallops were dripping with grease and chewy not crispy. Tonight the chips weren't the best. Think I will give it a miss in future. It's worth the travelling to Bradmore chippy for reliability and taste.

Probably the best chip shop in the area. Definitely the greatest kebabs and you also get the choice of normal or battered chips. I have my lunch here once a week and have done for the past 27 years. Keep up the good work guys 👍
