Great home cooked lunch and terrific value. Large portions.

After being fobbed off in the next pub along, we tried the Green Man, looking for food. The barmaid told us they'd stopped serving meals but that there were cobbs available (large baps, bread buns,bread cakes, whatever). We ordered ham salad cobbs and they were absolutely delicious. Lovely thick slices of ham and lots of salad. The beer was also superb.

Group of 10 of us went lunchtime today, it's the third time going here as a group. Food is really good and reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly, everywhere clean.

First and last meal at the Green Man. Ordered fish & chips and a can of diet Coke each for the two of us which cost £24.10. Chips looked and tasted hand cut but were cold and limp. The garden peas were hard and dry. My battered cod was identical in shape to my wife's and appeared to be of the type available in cheap freezer shops. Neither of us ate more than a mouthful of the fish as it had a strange taste and appeared to have been standing a long time or reheated.

Always great and Kath is a gem, will try and pop in more often .

Traditional English country pub with traditional quality country food and regulars. Everything good, worth knowing, going, eating and drinking.

Popped in with my wife for a lovely roast dinner.. which was delicious.

You cannot go wrong with this place, its on the small side but ten pound for two courses, food is hot and it's just how your nan used to make it!

Popped in for a coffee and light lunch, had our two dogs with us and we were made to feel very welcome, good facilities carpark was spacious everything was clean and well looked after, very good traditional pub

Really nice old fashioned pub. Has a community feel. Plenty of outside seating some in enclosed area. Nice fresh cobs and pub meals. Dog friendly if well behaved. Well worth a visit.

A hot day stayed outside. Good Beef Sandwich. Cheesey Chips to much melted cheese for Grandson so we brought plain ones. Staff friendly just didnt stay inside

Superb lunchtime meal, home made cheese and potato pie with homemade chips and beans, followed by homemade lemon drizzle cake and custard. See you again next week. Highly recommend 👌

Very basic pub, though food and ales are OK. Good Sunday lunch and worth a visit.

'Very, very Tired' inside, and the Carpark needs resurfacing, but the Outdoor space has been improved since my last visit. Best to eat here, the Cobs, which can only be bettered by those at The Anchor, Caunsall (thick slices of tender carved ham rather than cheap thin slices of reformed ham) . Drinks good, beer well kept, and prices reasonable. Desserts a little odd (eg Battenburg with custard!!) though, and the food menu is extremely limited.

Super food, big portions, quick service, very well priced.

Food at lunchtime was outstanding. Hot, comforting, proper home made cottage pie and chips, followed by ice cream for £8.95. Absolutely scrumptious. Our first visit but definitely not the last. Thank you.

Nice night out with friends,great welcoming bar staff and owners ,beer was kept well ,footy on big tv open fire cobs looked fab didn't have any but will next time what more could you ask for. We did come back for Mark kershaws 65th birthday night celebrations again great ale kept perfect TV footy on and we did try the cobs,they were fabulous Jp

Hadn't been here for many years but popped in for some lunch today, 2 courses for £8.95. Basic, filling home cooked food and it was very good. Most enjoyable! We will be back 😋

So MUST add that, to me the GREEN MAN served "my kind of meal' marvelous and Gorgeously tasting/ HOME STYLE cooked meals. I must be counted in this review. Sadly I miss greatly you delicious meals .. as I now live / reside in PORTUGAL ..but my friends back home keep me updated CHEERS!May you continue.will visit when I can

Terrible food. Wife had an omelette that defied belief, more like a frizby. My fish and chips was spectacularly bad.

Been out on the canal all day. Really looking forward to a pint and a meal. Read the reviews, so tried this pub first. Saturday night, no food. We weren’t the only people turned away. We left before we came even more depressed. Not a good atmosphere. The only reason it wasn’t no stars is the beer was good. Not the ones advertised though.

Best Cob I've ever Had in a Pub

Had Sunday dinner and it was not nice, meat I wouldn’t feed to my dog and the rest of the food was cold, will not be returning for food

Excellent for walkers, dog's, best banks's bitter n Mild I've tasted in a while, good range of beers, and if you want a big dinner book it, Can't beat home cooking, good circular walk also which gives you an appetite and thirst just down the road along the canal.

We pass this pub quite often and see the sign for Hot Pork sandwiches. Today we decided to have one. Quite a disappointment. The presentation was poor, the pork had been cut too thick, the bread was thick and stodgy, no cutlery or serviettes. The pub was clean and welcoming but these sandwiches were not what we had imagined.

Brilliant can sit av a drink in the sunshine 🌞 watching wankas cutting the corner and no seat belts.

Had a lovely meal with the wife and a guest ale. The food was amazing and the portion size was just as good. The staff are friendly and I could not fault my wife's birthday meal. We both enjoyed it a propper pub we have already decided to go again next week.

This pub based in Swindon Staffordshire is a great place for people to visit for a quick pint or to have food. The place is divided into the bar, the lounge and a dining area. Outside there is seating for people who like a drink outside or if they smoke. The pub has a crib and dominoes and a darts team if you like to play these games. They serve a good selection of drinks ranging from beers wines to spirits. The pub also does reasonable and coffees but these drinks you may need to ask the bar people first. The car park is just outside and can it can hold around 30 cars at one time. Overall if you want to visit the lovely village of Swindon, go to the Green Man Swindon. Recently the Green Man has undergone a redecoration during the pandemic. The entire pub has been painted a nice colour of white and blue making it more lighter than before.

I have been visiting the Green Man located in the village of Swindon near Wombourne occasionally over almost five decades now and never been disappointed. On my latest visit I noticed many changes, Management, Staff, Decor but the continuation of the welcome & ambience still remains intact. We have all been through some strange and difficult times of late, my congratulations to all at the Green Man for succeeding in maintaining the excellence that this wonderful village pub has always provided.

While the outdoor are is very pleasant. Indoors could do with a makeover, a comfy seating area maybe and updated generally.

Good lunch time meals 2 courses £7.25 all freshly cooked and great home made chips give it a try
