Frydays Fish & Chips in Sandwell

The only positive aspect of my meal was the quality of the chips; however, the chicken was bland and dry, resulting in its disposal. While other menu items appeared appealing, my experience was largely underwhelming, with the chips being the sole redeeming feature. I found it unacceptable to be charged an additional 50 pence for chili/mayonnaise, especially considering the absence of complimentary cutlery and napkins. While the shop's cleanliness was acceptable, it could be improved. Therefore, I rate this establishment a generous 6 out of 10.

Had to wait 1 hour 30 minuets for my food to be deliverd and it was cold absolutely a joke

90/100 Cannot fault this place. Kind staff,generous portions and really good prices!! £7 for a Large mixed meat and chips. Could feed 2 people easily! Kebabs are clean and good quality. The battered chips are amazing!!!!!! Don't bother with Black Country anymore

Absolutely disgusted, £23 for 2 large kebab meat and chips in a tray, arrived with no chips in either, contacted the chip shop to be told the charge the same for just kebab meat in a tray!!

Had £3.50 Special chips did not taste the best dnt know what oil or if it was fresh or not but they were not the best also the fish bites were over battered & Oily Curry sauce was ok I guess then told minimum spend is £5 he proceeded to sell me a 500ml bottle of coke for 1.70 which are normal priced @ 1.35 I dnt think i'll be returning anytime soon nice to have choices

best battered chips hands down. been to plenty of chip shops in my time this has to be up there was recommended by a friend and didn't disappoint. kebab was on point service was good and quick thought id be waiting a while with how busy they are. Will be going back again.

If only everyday was a FRYDAY! but its only Tuesday and cold snowy one at that too. Delicious, hot battered chips with lashings of salt and vinegar. Generous portions. I opted for the large fish today and was not disappointed - meaty mouth watering mouthfuls - highly recommended. Completely full now so very pleased with my meal. Thanks Frydays.

Very rude and arrogant staff and portions have gone very small! When you challenge them on this they become defensive! Nothing like the old original owner who use to genuinely lookafter his customers! Wont be coming back here again!

Rude staff and portions gone small! Went there a week ago with my son and will not be going back! Told the Indian girl the medium mix meat looked way to small and all she did was pull her face and wrapped the food, no communication just arrogant! There arrogance & rudeness will be the fall the the business!

Can honestly say my fish n chips was the nicest ive had in a very long time

The daytime deals are good but the rest is a rip off. 2.75 for a cone of chips. 90p for a scallop it's a joke and then to ne told to have curry sauce in a pot is an extra 1.30 for small unreal even though I brought a meal it was 70p extra with a meal but they wouldn't honour it because it was a fish bites meal. I tell you I won't be going again. Andys chippie it is from now on Owen street. And looking at past bad reviews seems they only have one sarcastic response to customers 🙄 just a rip off. Our paper was filled with oil too. I'm shocked by the replies to bad feedback to be honest!!

Never had a bad meal from here… food is always fresh and portion sizes are good. Staff are friendly and polite too. Wouldn’t bother with any other chippy for food other than Frydays.

Chips were either stale, bottom of the barrel, or were left overs from last nights cooking. Roe and sausage was OK.. Needs to improve or we will go elsewhere

Excelent fish & chips cooked to order, super service & a good portion size with nice touch including fresh lemon & tartar sauce. Well worth a visit.

Food was good as always. Need to be careful packaging cans of pop tho, the cold cans made the bag rip and delivery driver dropped them down my front garden stairs causing one of the cans to explode and be empty.

Chips tasted very oily and not fresh and the paper was soaked in oil.I thought this was a rated chip shop judging by the reviews but very disappointed and appalled .Wont be going back.Rude staff too and the mixed meat kebab portion was way too small for the £6.My stomach is still suffering and this is the day after, the amount of oil in the chips was shocking.Its like the oil was a week old in which they cooked it in, and the chips smelt weird.The worst chip shop I have ever been to and I have been to plenty believe me!!! No respect for customers this lot.

The best fish and chips I've ever had in my life! The staff are so so lovely! Very welcoming and quick, battered chips are a must! I'm going to miss this chip shop when I go back home to Australia!

This is my usual monthly treat & after a few bad experiences with the just eat driver & the fact he would leave the food on the doorstep knock door & drive off & I now go in person to Frydays & the staff there are brilliant & very friendly & usually they are busy that just how shows just how good the food actually is there. If you've never been I suggest you go give it a try & it's good food, great service & no horrible just eat drivers if you go to collect.

This is by far the best chippy nr DY4 now. Chips and other food totally surpasses anything you can get from the surrounding chip shops. Always hot and delicious. Will not be ordering from anywhere else!

Wasn't aware of this place near West Brom until they popped up on Google. Convenient location and lots of parking nearby. Was most surprised when they asked "battered or normal" chips. Flummoxed me a bit to be fair as had not seen or tasted battered chips for a while. Ordered a couple of battered sausages too. Delicious and reasonable serving of medium chips. Great chippy!

excellent food this week, back to outstanding taste

Chips portion sizes are getting smaller and smaller and they don't expect you to notice. Don't order a large bag of chips if the young lad with glasses serves you, he gives far less than anyone else who serves. Will be going elsewhere if this continues. Shame as the food is actually really nice

The chips were really cold tasted stale as if had been cooked and left there. the cod fish was absolutely full of batter only a little piece of fish inside. I always order from here every few weeks,never had this worst service or problems with my orders. Will not recommend again

Well what can I say?. Chips were cooked perfectly. And I had mixed kebab meat with it. Lamb, chicken and not sure what the other one was but it was delicious. Also great staff. Will definitely be coming back to this one.

Food was beautiful. First time trying orange chips as they are called. My issue is the guy who served me. When I walked in he was on the phone being somewhat obnoxious to a caller. Maybe he knew them and was joking?? He seemed annoyed when I asked him if I could try an orange chip first. Then continued to badger me saying what do you want then and rolling his eyes at me as I was overwhelmed with the choice . I had a small chips and a battered sausage. They were lovely. I just don’t recommend the guy who served me.

Absolutely delicious! The chips were perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, just how I like them. Plus, the fish was cooked to perfection, with a light, crispy batter. The portion sizes were generous, and the service was friendly. Definitely coming back for more

Chips were very nice, I got a large cod the batter was nice and it was a nice size but the fish was really dry and spongey I couldn't eat most of it, if the fish wasnt so bad I would have given more stars

The delivery was done on time as advised however. For some reason the food hasn’t tasted quite how I expected and has left me feeling unwell since eating it.

The delivery driver banged on the door & I have issues walking & I use crutches to walk. So he bangs on the door & leaves my food on the floor & I called him back & asked him if he eat food off the floor & why did he not wait like every other driver that comes to my home to deliver. The needs to learn to wait or customers will not be happy with delivery service. The shop & staff are fantastic every one & treat every customer the same as the one before. THE FOOD IS 1st CLASS.

chips was cold corniche pasty was rock hard could not even cut it with a knife worst I have ever had from here.

Not bad food. Plenty of choice. Me ma in law loves it though. And she is super fussy. So for me food is a three and a half but she is more of a five star. Been coming here years and it still keeps me coming back so it can't be that bad. 😃 serving staff are friendly. Over all it is worth a punt and a few of your pounds

chicken breast burger was chewy not nice at all and chips was bad too many bad potatoes

I don't know what's happened to this place. It used to be the best chippy around! last time we ordered, no one could eat the chicken cause it was so salty it was stinging our lips and this time the chips are sloppy and half the kebab meat is dry.
