Swan Inn Broadway in Wychavon

Visited for a family meal while staying just outside of Broadway. The restaurant has a main bar area to the front which is dog friendly (not my cup of tea) but with a restaurant section to the rear where pets are not allowed. We sat at the rear and were greeted by a traditional low beamed ceilinged room featuring a very welcoming real fire that added to the cosy feel of the place. We ordered mixed breads and olives to start with a round of drinks. These were served nice and quickly and we were allowed plenty of time to enjoy them before they were cleared away and our mains brought. We had a varied mix of meals for mains between us. I had the half rotisserie chicken with fries, my wife had the three cheese and mushroom pizza. Our eldest had the ribeye steak and our youngest had the dirty burger. The chicken I had was absolutely lovely, it was served with a honey glaze, a gravy type sauce and really nice fries. The steak was ordered medium and was cooked perfectly, this came with chunky chips and an excellent peppercorn sauce. The dirty burger was also really good with the smashed patties and brisket topping all being very good. My wife's pizza was excellent with a goodly amount of toppings and a very nice crispy base. We had a mix of wines, beers and soft drinks throughout the meal all of which were served really well. The staff were lovely and friendly and the restaurant was nice and clean. All in all a lovely restaurant and well worth a visit if in Broadway.

Fabulous lunch at The Swan, good food and great service. Will be booking again soon. Had been to The Ritz , in London the week before. This was far better.

The food was really good quality and the price is reasonable for the portion size. We were able to have a really good festive celebration with family. I ordered the pork belly and it was really good

Popped in for a drink early evening

Really nice decor in the restaurant. The 3 of us enjoyed our lunch very much. Only shame was you had to have the 3 courses on their Festive Menu, which we couldn't manage, & no mulled wine on the menu!

Eat here quite often. Good food and good service always. The restaurant has a warm and welcoming atmosphere , the maitre de is very good as are the rest of the staff.

My partner and I visited last night for the first time. We will be back. The food was delicious, and the service was lovely, especially the very happy young girl (17 I think she said) who served us. She was funny, polite, and attentive. Parking is easy. If I have one complaint, if you're sat next to a noisy group, which we were because there is little in the way of soft furnishings to soak up sound, it's hard to hear each other over the noise but it didn't spoil our evening. Also, the village itself is gorgeous and well worth a wander around. Sadly, because it was so busy I didn't get any pictures.

We had the Wine and Dine which was beautiful, however, we asked if we could choose a MUCH cheaper bottle of wine but still willing to pay the full price, absolutely no issue with that. Unfortunately, this was declined. The wine on offer was not to our taste and as such didn’t really enjoy the experience albeit it was still excellent value. To be fair, if that’s my only gripe, that I was forced to drink a much more expensive bottle of wine it can’t be all bad. I think next time we’ll give the wine and dine a miss.

Fish smelt old, goats cheese tart too sweet and lacking cheese, bar service poor, welcome non existent. Table waitress was good, sharing board also, but not likely to return.

Fabulous dinner with my hubby during our stay in Broadway Superb food, lovely relaxed and chilled atmosphere in the bar and restaurant area. Really spoilt for choice on the menu. My husband is a massive scallop fan and said they were the best he’d ever tasted!… praise indeed! Friendly attentive staff. The outside was decorated very nicely for Christmas.. we left there feeling starting to feel it was nearly Christmas!!

Wonderful food and atmosphere! We ordered from the Festive menu, and savored every bite. We especially liked the sea bass! This place is obviously favored by locals and had a nice buzz to it well past 10:00. Our server, Ann Marie, was informative and very attentive. It was definitely a 5 star dining experience!

We had two fantastic meals at The Swan. The staff were so busy but very attentive and friendly, especially Sophie. The menu had so many choices and both meals were delicious. Highly recommend

Food and service was great. Particularly impressed by the method of allocation of the window tables - earliest booking gets best table - very fair. Liked how the staff involved the manager if they weren’t sure about something.

Food and service were great. Parking terrible - website says there is loads of parking but it was completely full and so was every other carpark in Broadway on a Saturday lunchtime! Probably needs more warning.

The vibe when we came into the restaurant was immediately chaotic and that proved to be the case for the duration of our meal. We had a booking at 18:45 and weren't able to finally pay and leave until nearly 22:00. The service was remarkably slow, and we had multiple instances where drinks orders were forgotten and had to be reordered. Trying to pay at the end of the meal took nearly half an hour as wait staff consistently ignored us attempting to get their attention. Throughout the meal the wait staff made us hand them our plates (they stood in front of us and just held out their hands) and also passed our plates (often very hot) into our hands. The position of the table wasn't the easiest to navigate, but they chose to put the table there, so that is on them. The food was mostly good. The roasts were very nice. However, my soup had a thick skin on it, which I assumed was from sitting under a heat lamp, and my partner's burger was extremely tough and dry. It was her birthday meal, and it's safe to say that it was a huge disappointment.

Enjoyed a lovely festive lunch, food was exceptional and our service from Harry was outstanding. We will be back!!!

Generally great and the food and service was pretty good but some of the roast potatoes had skins like cardboard from being kept in the warmer for too long. We only noticed towards the end of our meal and mentioned it before paying and we got an apology but were told we should have said something sooner. Other than that the food was great. Dauphinoise potatoes were sublime as was the Valrhona brownie. Crackling was superb. Meats and veg were OK and the beef was the star of the show.

Four of us had a lovely evening at The Swan, our regular eating place. The food was great, the service attentive (thank you Ann Marie) and the atmosphere convivial. Unsurprisingly, we booked again before we left.

Nice pub in the village of broadway

Ann Marie was our server and she was so polite, attentive and made the whole experience enjoyable. She is a credit to the team. Food was brilliant as well.

Fried Haddock and Chips - quite a large portion but the fish was moist and delicately cooked. Thick chips. Comfortable dining rooms. Very warm and friendly service.

beautiful pub in a beautiful village ~ food was great and good quality. staff were friendly, especially bar staff. a heads-up for dog owners: your dogs are only allowed in the bar area (which is understandable) however spaces are first-come, first-serve (we got lucky with a gentleman leaving his table) but otherwise the pub is very welcoming of dogs ☺️ all-in-all would definitely recommend 😄👍🏻

Fabulous meal with great service from Liz - definitely worth a visit

I would have loved to be posting a review about the food however, we did not get the opportunity to even have a drink. We arrived on a Thursday at 6pm and every table was reserved. No one bothered to ask us if we needed anything. How is it that you cannot go into a pub and actually have a drink at 6pm on a week night. What society do we live in when you now need to reserve a table in order to have a drink. There should be a minimum of 4 tables to allow for walk ins that are not reserved. Do not tell me that all reservations were for 6pm. What the Swan has accomplished is that we will never return or recommend to our friends.

Following a leisurely stroll through the very quaint and pretty village of Broadway in the Cotswolds, we were looking for somewhere to have a bite to eat for lunch and stumbled across The Swan just opposite The Green which looked quite inviting. Not long after we entered the bar area and enquired if there was a table available for 4, we were escorted into the restaurant area and shown to a lovely table. It was obvious that it we were in for a treat as it was very busy, and when we saw some of the meals being served, we were really impressed before we have even looked at the menu. We decided to eat from the Lunch Set menu which, at £19.95 for two courses, was incredible value for money, with a great choice of dishes. Two of us opted for the squid starter which was one of the best calamari dishes I’ve ever had. Three of us had the gammon steak, eggs and pineapple which we all agreed was superb, and my wife said her cod & chips were fantastic. From walking through the door to leaving, the service was relaxed and professional, the ambiance great, food sublime and we all agreed it was one of the best lunchtime experiences we have ever had. High Five to Vicky, and the whole team who served us, for their 5* service. If you’re visiting Broadway, do not miss dining here and, for those who are old enough to remember – if Carlsberg did pub lunch……………

Beautiful restaurant in the Cotswolds and one with some great history for the area:) the T-bone steak I got was very well cooked just a little under-seasoned and the peppercorn sauce needs more bite but the service was brilliant and it was a lovely dinner

Popped in for a sticky toffee pudding on Sunday, the lady on the bar was very kind and friendly and the food was brought out within minutes! Amazing place with great service, many thanks to Holly, our server and the chef Joshua- all the team are great.

Just had to leave a review! Last minute decision to eat out tonight and chose at the Swan - made to feel so welcome .Both steaks were cooked perfectly and they easily accommodated a change to the dish that I requested. Service so attentive and friendly particularly from the manager Tom -all the team are great. Would highly recommend ,also very dog friendly -our dog gives it 4 paws on the doors!!

Cosy spot for few drinks in the bar. Then moved into the restaurant to eat later. Good food at reasonable price.

Lovely lunch, we prebooked as it was a Saturday. We were in the bar area with dogs and child, where you order at the bar or on QR code on the table. Was the 2nd time visiting here for lunch and would definitely return. Service was a little slow to clear up but it was understandable as we were a group and it was very busy, being peacetime. Had the pork belly and it was delicious, everyone around the table were happy with their meals.

The bald gentlemen with glasses behind the bar was one of the friendliest most accommodating bar staff I’ve ever encountered, nothing was too much for him and he had an electable charm which complimented the electric atmosphere nicely. Will certainly be returning !!!

Lovely lovely Cotswold pub & restaurant stayed at Broadway early September 4th - 7th 2024. All the pubs are nice but this was our favourite Food & drink were great with a nice warmly Cotswold pub feel within the pub Jo the Manager & Tom went above all customer service expectations to sort out a £100 parking fine outside their pub ...Thank you to them both!!! Excellent menu, very helpful staff (one of our party is allergic to garlic, and the staff went to great lengths to come up with garlic-free variants of the menu items). Meals were delicious - no complaints at all. Will happily return.

Booked in for Sunday lunch at 3.0 but arrived early at 2.30 and decided to get a drink whilst waiting but asked if table was ready just on the off chance. Table not ready but the member of the team greeting us said if we take a seat in the bar or outside she would come and find us. 10 minutes later she came to find us and kindly showed us to our table. We had the Sunday lunch off the menu and have to say was one of the best Sunday lunches I have had for a long time. Our server Sophie was very helpful and attentive and answered our questions regarding the food very professionally. The restaurant was very busy and can only be a reflection of how popular it is. All in all we had an enjoyable Sunday lunch and will definitely return when next in the area.

Really nice pub lunch.My starter, beets, wine soakes pears, goats cheese and crusty bread in a basalmic sauce and git the steak sandwich for my main.

We were a table of 3 that had booked via the online form for 19:45. Lovely pub. All of the staff were incredibly friendly. We came on the weekend with the vintage & classic cars meaning the staff had clearly had a very long day. We were hoping for Sunday roasts and by the time we sat down were told there were none left. Ben, our server could clearly see our disappointment (not his fault!) .. wow. He went above and beyond .. he came back and said the chef would put us together a plate of what he could including veg, gravy, meat .. the only thing missing was the roasties (I wasn’t too worried!). He made our day. We absolutely would have been fine without the roasts but Ben really put himself out to try and get something sorted for us. Thank you. We will definitely be back!

Certainly not a cheap lunch, however my Fish & Chips were well presented, delicious (as was the pint of Guinness) and very filling..... Just what I needed after my walk upto Broadway Tower and back. Highly recommended!

Fantastic food. Fitted us in for our 10th wedding anniversary and had the wine and dine experience. Our waitress Lauren was lovely too.

We ordered the recommended pork belly and lamb. They both are very tasty, and dishes are very presentable, although the lamb could be a bit less cooked for my liking. The staff are very attentive, and the seatings are very comfortable. Personally, I don't like the interior, a bit too "modern" for me. Our food and drinks came to £55, I think it is a good price.

We didn't book, it was very full and they accommodated for us with 3 children. Great children's menu, main menu and the service was the same Although it was busy, there was no long wait for the food. Thanks Ann Marie

Excellent all-round. A picturesque location with a varied & delicious menu and generous portions. First class service from all staff too, especially friendly team member Liz who looked after us throughout. Highly recommended for couples and families of all ages

Swan Inn ( not Ship Inn ) Every time I’ve been the to swan (+-6 times) I have found the food absolutely amazing. They do a fantastic Sunday Roast!!! Service from the Bar staff Lovely Lilly, a saffa Chap - (like me) and Tom has always been on point! Great place to bring the family or even treat your lady to a date night. 10/10

Ship inn well I’m most disappointed. We cancelled our food order, due to the SMOKING OUTSIDE DISGUSTING. NO SIGNS SAYING DO NOT EAT OUTSIDE DUE TO ASHTRAYS FULL AND A LOVELY SETTING RUINED. I HAVE TO SAY I WAS VERY SHOCKED. LOVELY YOUNG LADY TOOK OUR ORDER. THE GUY BEHIND THE BAR WAS A TAD RUDE AND TOO BE HONEST DID NOT CARE. TO BE HONEST IT WAS SO BAD IM GLAD I HAD MY BLUE INHALER. ITS 2024 SO WHATS WITH THE CRAZY SMOKING WHILST EATING.
