Visited on Saturday for a 21st. We had booked for a large group but one of the families had pulled out so ended up being half the amount of people, however they still were happy to give us the space for a special event which was highly appreciated. Service was super fast, staff really attentive and friendly! Atmosphere was great too. Made for a great afternoon with the family, thank you!

DO NOT buy the mock tails for your kids, you will get told that you can’t buy mock tails for underage kids. Their mock tails have 0% alco in them and every other pub sells them! Unfortunately this wasn’t a very good stay. I couldn’t have my passion fruit marti-NO

Good food nice and hot, didn't have to wait too long service was good would highly recommend. Took advantage of the meal and pudding for £19, so a nice bargain as well.

Very disappointed booked table for 7 on arrival no one seemed to realise we had booked nothing ready for us had to wait half an hour for table to be ready. Seems they need more staff. My party and myself were going to leave. But table ready. By then we just stayed. Food fine. But someone needs to oversee the arrarrangements re bookings. I will go back to see any improvements

Firstly I would like to say the food is lovely, although they did miss the pork & apricot stuffing with my pork roast, it was still nice. However the service is shocking. I had booked a table for Mother’s Day at 6:30pm for 7 people, we had arrived on time to be told to wait at the bar for 5 minutes while people finish their desserts off which we didn’t mind, at first, until 25 minutes go by and we’re still sat at the bar. Very disappointed. If you have guests booked for a time slot, you should let the other guests know what time they have to be off their table for. There weren’t many big tables either and had assigned guests to tables for a reason due to it being Mother’s Day. So I, as well as many other people I assume, would expect the table to be ready for when they get there. I will not be coming back.

We went for Mother’s Day & the food was beautiful, Sunday dinners were lovely and great portion sizes. We had a gluten free member of the party and our waitress Danielle was very helpful in finding out the options, and was very attentive asking if we wanted anything throughout the whole time we were here! Me and me friend came as we usually go four oaks pub and wanted a change, worst decision ever! The food took 40 minutes to come out despite there being barely anyone here, I paid £15 for scampi and chips, I counted and was given 8 chips and 7 scampi bites, absolute joke. My friend ordered a burger and chips, along with halloumi fries (£7.50) and his bill came to £23, he was given a fair amount of chips, but his burger was burnt and he was given 4 halloumi fries in total, costing just under £2 each holloumi. Absolute rip off, food quality was average at best, don’t come here. Do yourself a favour and get a better meal at crown or four oaks pub!

Went with family, had to wait for a pre booked table, service was very good. Drinks was was good, food was very disappointing, burger a and chips was like a child’s portion I’m not a big eater but was still hungry after, a the fish was overcooked and was all batter, won’t rush to go back

Meet up there with friends once a month. Always enjoy. Food and service very good. Easy location to travel to. Clean and welcoming.

I was welcomed to the quill and taper by the lovely Alys, she was absolutely fantastic by finding us a table without even booking beforehand. The service we had was as great as the food we received, so maximum stars for everything that day. We shall be back again!

It was our mums 80th and the staff were brilliant. Gave us a secluded area, flexible with candles, brought the cake out and took some great group photos. Even gave us a discount on the main meals despite us not having a voucher. Brilliant service. Thanks Heather and the rest of the team

Adam served our table and was very friendly and attentive. The only slight downside was the waiting time for our food about 40 minutes but our booking was for 1.15 on a Sunday so I could expect a longer wait than normal.

Warm cosy pub with friendly staff. Good food which we all enjoyed and with 30% of mains it became affordable.

We had the most expensive thing on the menu. The meat was good (although my wife's lamb was overdone) but it came with potato cubes that were literally like cardboard. When we told the staff they said sorry and that maybe they'd been left in the oven too long (I would think since lunchtime at least) and that was it. No offer of complimentary chips or something. Bizarrely veg also not available as a side. Wouldn't eat here again. Nice place otherwise.

Held a wake here - buffet lovely Staff extremely accommodating . Handy location for the train for the younger cousins attending back from uni .

Nothing bad to say. We had a fantastic Sunday lunch. Food was very high quality and delicious. You get a generous portion which isn’t often the case at many places these days! What you get is spot on for the price! Adam our waiter was very attentive and kept us up to date with how our food was doing. Very impressed. Can’t recommend highly enough! A great meal in a really nice setting!

Very disappointed over the last few weeks, items unavailable and last week I ordered a steak sandwich, the bread was stale and not worth the money.We have been coming for a while , noticed the quality has changed pity as they are always welcoming

food was a little burnt and dry but apart from that it was amazing a very cute set up and adored the inside service was very good for the amount of people in the section absolutely amazing on there part

We had a family on Friday, payday weekend. Expected it to be busy but arrived at 7.20 to a relatively quiet bar and restaurant. Table booked at 8.15, we had a lovely table and we’re not rushed at all by Alys and George who were attentive but no in our faces. Really good service and we were not rushed at all. Food arrived, mixed grill, sirloin steak, duo of lamb and steak pie. All plates were superb and quality and quantity were great. Definitely go here again and would recommend it. Such a shame it was quiet, ( maybe a one off) but if not people are missing out. Thanks for a great night.

Always had excellent service and food here. Adam was our waiter tonight and did a great job, recommended wine, efficient service and very knowledgeable. Nat, Phil and Lee prepared the food in the kitchen quickly and as always the food was excellent. Would recommend if you want a good meal, great service and you can take your dogs too if you want. Only thing missing would be people who can’t park their car within the lines 😣.

Waitress was rude and said abruptly I finish in 3mins so you need to go to the bar to pay. Chocolate bomb sauce was not hot enough to melt the chocolate so wasn't pleasant to eat. The deposit wasn't taken off the bill and the 3 courses for £30 deal wasn't itemised correctly.

Service slow at best !!! Waited 20 minutes for drinks then at least 30 minutes for starters . Group of 8 , 1 child and his meal had to be chased up !! Staff illness was the excuse , sounds like a you problem. We were celebrating a birthday and the cake I took myself we had a 15 wait for!!! Would not rush back and even the money off does not make it worth it. We went for a family celebration not a discount due to poor service.

We hired the bottom part for a 13th birthday celebration s, all having a evening meal. There was 29 of us. We got to go in earlier to set up the area. We had already dropped a tray bake cake and brought cup cakes as well. The staff brought the cakes to us after everyone had , had the meals, we did have to ask a couple times , just as some of the kids were getting restless at this point. But it was not an issue at all and considering the kitchen had a full pub and our private section to cope with all the staff did amazing job. The QR codes were great and ment less messing around and everybody took care of there own ordering an definitely less head ache trying to woke out separate bills at the end. Would definitely come again and recommend it.

Online booking hadn't filtered through but front of house were very accommodating. Our waiter, Adam was very helpful and attentive. Food great, would come back.

Very nice Valentine’s day lunch, looked after by Alys and Cheryl very well.

Few items were missing from menu due to new menu soon. We waited 45 mins for our food but were not warned of the waiting time when ordering and no apology was made when the meals arrived. The mushy peas were cold and the rest of the meal not as hot as usual. Coffee machine was broken so instant coffee offered and accepted but I did not feel £3.20 was the price to pay for instant coffee so complained only to be told " there was no button to record instant coffee so ask - based on this day, there will not probably be a next time. for a capaccino neor free"

Came to the quil and taper for some food with some friends and the waitress who served us was very friendly and happy to help with the many questions we asked about the food. Special thanks to heather who really made our visit extra special

We have just left here after an evening meal. On arrival, we were greeted by a woman called Cheryl...her attitude was absolutely appalling towards her staff, shouting at a kitchen staff member for trying to get some ice at the front of house. Her shouting caused more of an un necessary scene than him getting some ice. I get it, you're busy, but that doesn't give you the right to talk down to staff. Our food took over an hour to come out. The girl serving us (left section as you walk in) was new, she was wonderful. Very polite and friendly, Cheryl definitely needs some customer service skills off this young lady (sorry didn't get your name) but you deserve a pay rise already!

Used to come here a lot just after Covid, enjoyed bringing my kids here to eat, but recently came in and the service was poor, the attitude of the staff and manger on floor was unpleasant
