Great Sunday lunch, we had the dog with us as they are allowed in the bar area. There was a dog station with blankets, toys, water and treats. The service was great, we will definitely return.

The waitress was attentive and friendly without being over bearing. I loved the fact you bring drinks to the Table. The menu was extensive with tempting offerings. Food was fresh and nicely presented. Pub was clean and tidy - including the toilets. The 30% off was a bonus.

Food was excellent - although we went on a Sunday and they had run out of Beef and turkey - so only pork left at 6.30pm. Service was very good.

Good food, value for money and very friendly and helpful staff. We take our dog there most weeks and the they have everything you need for the dog and the staff are always happy to help.

We live locally & had been for drinks before but not food. Today 3 of us went for Sunday lunch with a table booked for 330. We were served by Adam & the service was good. The vegetables on the dinners however were under cooked; parsnips, roast potatoes & the carrots altho my husbands were slightly more cooked than ours. I’ll say that I actually prefer my veg al dente but they were too hard even for me. My husbands beef had the elastic string still through the meat also, we hadn’t noticed until Adam said as we thought it was a piece of rosemary! I had dessert; the ice cream had ice in it suggesting the freezer is too cold & the choc sauce wasn’t warm despite being advertised as such. Our review is to highlight a few issues that can easily be addressed kitchen wise & hasn’t put us off visiting again. It’s a lovely, welcoming place & we’re sure things will have improved for next time ☺️

Room a bit on cool side is my only criticism.

Found the Q&T by chance when booking a place to eat for myself and my wife. Greeted pleasantly at the door, table was readily available for us. Overall service was fantastic, didn't have to wait for our drinks or food orders to be taken. Food was great when it came out and the staff were really nice and accommodating. Based on our experience, I would 100% recommend visiting and we will be going back there soon.

We were shown to a wonderful table by the lit fire. The service by Cheryl was very good. We didn’t have to wait long to be served and the food was great.

Ate here for lunch. Good choice on the menu and the battered haddock was really impressive. Very helpful staff as well made it a great lunch.

Found the chicken a little tough but the desserts were delicious

A bit disappointed that there were no Sunday roasts left! Apparently they’ve been busy! Also, neck oil. Where’s the neck oil! The meal was very good, though. And captain jack made sure we were taken care of. What was in the chocolate bomb? I can barely move! (It was good, I ate the whole thing!)

I hadn't been to the Quill and taper since it changed from the Blakes barn and what a joy it was to come back. Staff attentive, food absolutely lovely, live music (last Friday of every month) added to a really good night.

It’s been our first ever visit although we live very near this establishment . Pleasant place with good food and good service. We were served by a lovely waiter called Alex. Thank you and keep up the good work :) , we will be returning.

We both had starters which were nice. My main course of fish and chips was also very nice, however there was a very small portion of chips. This spoilt the meal unfortunately for the sake of an extra handful of chips which would have added pennys to their costs. Our other main course was slightly overcooked. Total spend of £55 with a 30% off voucher. Probably won't go back again. Staff were pleasant and service was good. Having said that nobody came over to check that everything was OK.

Service very good. Only two complaints The main one is about excessive noise - the ceiling, being flat reflects everyone’s voices as do the walls. If noise baffles were fitted to the ceiling and some drapes ( or sound absorbing wallpaper) were fitted then it would be a much more pleasurable experience. As far as the food is concerned, in general quite satisfactory but the steak described as “melt in the mouth tender” was an affront to the English language; however, Oscar, my Miniature Schnauzer didn’t mind how tough it was. Two of our party had the same suit but the texture of one was quite hard whilst the other one was very much softer and better tasting.

I cannot fault the service I received from the point of booking right through to our experience on the day. Our booking was for a large group of 14 people to celebrate a family birthday. Adam looked after us from start to finish taking care to deliver the right meals to the right person and making sure we all had everything we needed. He responded to every request and had a really positive and friendly approach. The food was lovely (well done chefs) and no-one was left waiting so we could all eat together. They didn't mind that we had brought our own birthday cake for pudding and even found a candle for us (as I'd forgotten ours). Overall, the staff made our celebration very enjoyable (and stress free for the organiser, me!).

We had a lovely meal for my dad's 50th today. The waiters were absolutely amazing (shout out to Adam) and it was a lovely atmosphere to be in together for a special celebration.

Took my 88 year mam (a wheelchair user) here for an impromptu Sunday Lunch. The staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating!! Adam found us a cosy corner and made sure we were well looked after. The food and drink was fabulous!! Thank you!!

Adam was wonderful from start the finish. Made sure we had everything we needed. Orders was taken quickly and food was served in perfect timing. We didn't need to leave the table once for anything. Alys utterly made our experience for my partners birthday, ensuring our glasses were never empty and our faces were always smiling. Brilliant service, gorgeous food and a lovely welcoming vibe.

Having visited for the third time in about six weeks, the food service- thank you Sian and Gaz- and atmosphere was as good as ever.! A really good Sunday roast!!….and a mention for manager Cheryl who treated our poorly guest with warmth and attention.

Staff extremely friendly and welcoming. They do a great job. Personable and accommodating, they really do make an effort to ensure you have a lovely experience. Food was delicious and very hot. Good choice of traditional, and the not so traditional, meals. This inn had the vibes of being a quiet family pub deep in the countryside but is actually on the edge of a lovely housing development. We ate our meals, my daughter getting a cocktail courtesy of staff, as we were celebrating her well-earned graduation, and then retired to the delightful outside area where we had more cocktails. A nice touch is that they provide lovely thick blankets if it’s slightly chilly. Tables are well spaced, not at all cramped like many places are. Plenty of parking is available and Blake St train station is only a couple of minutes walk away. Surprisingly, we heard very very little of the trains, even whilst sitting outside. However, there are many trees and hedges which, whilst adding to the privacy and country feel, also serve to dampen possible engine noise I would thoroughly recommend this gem of a pub and fully intend to return. Thank you for making our night so enjoyable

We had an absolutely fantastic evening! If I’m honest this wouldn’t have been our first choice based on the quality of meals from before the refurb but the food exceeded our expectations massively, the service was top quality, AND there was live entertainment!

Alys went above and beyond, making our dinner excellent. Not only was she so lovely, she also made me feel included by bringing out gluten free bread with Humous even though it wasn't included in the starter set, when my family starter came out. All on all i would come back, definitely would recommend. THANK YOU !!!
