Great beer with friendly service. The food rotates and there are often events (comedy, music, etc). It has a nice interior and there is also a small amount of seating outside on the road.

Shocking today Iv been a fan of 1000 trades Sunday roast but this time I was greeted with “last time you dint pay” when I proved that I paid the time before via a bank statement no apology nothing shocking behaviour outed me for not paying in front of the whole party I was with not happy with the embarrassment.

We booked for a table of 6 with most of us never being before and with the reputation that the food was amazing but the quality of the food is irrelevant when the service and staff are rude from the moment you enter the building. We turned up to find our table of 6 had been given away so we were given a table for 4 with no consideration that our party was larger than that. The male working at the time immediately shouted out in front of everybody that a member of my party didn't pay during his last visit only to be proved wrong moments later when he was presented with a bank statement showing otherwise. After which he still made no apology or made any attempt to turn things right with us. In fact he stopped serving us altogether leaving it to the other member of staff. Took 20 minutes just to be asked if we wanted a drink, the food then took over an hour to arrive and the whole time not once did we get any update from the staff or an apology for the time it was taking. The food once it came was enjoyable but at that point we were all so hungry we'd have been happy with a packet of crisps. Avoid avoid avoid, don't waste your Sunday

Hey guys, sad to say my wife and I were really disappointed with our visit on Saturday. We cane to try the “Summer of Soul” food pop up and this was one of the poorest dining experiences we have had in a long time. The food was bland - chicken, cod goujons no seasoning at all let alone tasting like soul food. The steak on my sub was burnt, actually tasted like it was cooked on a dirty grill and the greens/coleslaw tasted wet and like they had been sat in the fridge for a few days. The server asked how everything was and when we said “terrible”, said they’d take our feedback to the kitchen but that was it. No appearance from the partners in the kitchen, no apology, no offer to refund anything from the bill, just laughter from the pass. Pretty disgusted with that team. The people behind Tierra Tacos, Trentina and Tiger Bites Pig should hang their heads in this one.

Visited with friends on a weekend away. None of us knew the area but noticed earlier in the day that they had a dj in the evening. DJ (the owner) mixed good (not cheesy) 80's, which was great. The natural wine (seved by the glass or carafe) was lush(no hangover), staff were lovely. Fun, chilled, welcoming bar. Would recommend.

Beautiful food but terrible service. The lady looking after our table was extremely icy and seemed like she was highly inconvenienced by even being there. Food was top tier but despite a £350 table bill, the atmosphere was unfortunately spoilt by her cooler than cold attitude.

Very cool atmosphere with a nice vibe. The bar has a good variety of craft beers and largers, with some tasty house wines. Small menu choice, but they make up for it in quality of the food being beautifully cooked with decent sized portions and selection of deserts. A strong 8/10.

On another note,, , for those who like soul, jazz, house, or dance music, there's many events worth attending where you can enjoy a nigh out

Went here for my 30th Birthday for some food and had booked in advance earlier that day. When we arrived, I was told that certain items on the menu had run out, this was most of what my friends and I wanted but we agreed we’d choose other items. We’d been sat there for 25/30 minutes and no one had come to the table to take our order so I went to the bar and asked and was told we needed to order at the bar, I was then told that other items and all meat items had run out, which was what everyone had wanted so we were left with basically no options on the menu. Ended up leaving and going elsewhere, absolutely waste of my time and Birthday and not the experience I wanted considering friends had driven 7 hours to be there. I live 3 mins from here and won’t be going back again. Why not just say we’re running low on stock when I called earlier that day?

This place is ABSOLUTELY FREEZING! Went yesterday on a really cold day and there was no heating! Worst place I’ve been to in a long time, I know there’s a cost of living crisis but this is totally unacceptable for customers! I was so uncomfortable, this is the worst pub I’ve been to comfort wise I did not enjoy my time here and don’t recommend it in winter especially to those who have any medical conditions that the cold may exacerbate. What’s worse is that I went upstairs to see the play and it was even colder! People were sitting in their coats, I had to put my gloves back on and my legs were shaking from the cold. The play itself was great but I did feel even worse for the poor actors who had far less clothes on than me. Again this was totally abysmal and unacceptable. Food service was SO SLOW I waited 30 plus minutes for burger and chips and wish I’d gone somewhere else before the play. Food wasn’t even piping hot after such a long wait. I was so cold that I got a cappuccino (tiny portion) and then wasn’t even provided with sugar that I had to ask for. Customer service is so poor especially for the prices. Tables are way too close to each other too so people and even their own waiters struggle to get past. Interior decor is cheap and devoid of character. Getting staff attention to ask about an order is virtually impossible. I won’t be returning!

We were really excited to visit 1000 trades as we’ve read plenty of good reviews. On arrival there was no one to receive us and take us to a table. There was only one staff member behind the bar who advised we could just find a seat and order at the bar. We placed our order and found a table. The table was a little dirty and sticky, no salt and pepper on table. Our order arrived relatively quick, however no one came to check how the food was and we had to try and flag someone down as one of our orders was incorrect. The menu is also misleading, it says all large dishes are served with couscous on the side but that was not received. The staff member told us it only came with the rice or chips that are on the plate (so why does the menu say all plates come with couscous?! We were expecting this as an extra). The Zatar chicken was very tasty and crispy, and the chips were also good. The lamb koftas were very tasteless. The salad did not have any dressing. And the amount of bread provided with the dips too small for 3 dips and 2 people. Overall this experience left us disappointed and unlikely to return as the prices here are not cheap and the staff did not seem to care about customers.

Demonstrates a severe lack of care and diligence regarding allergies; a manager of a bar/retaurant should know better. Would warn anyone with allergies who is eating or drinking there to double/triple check when ordering anything.

Attended a party on Saturday night. We had a great time and the venue is nice. There’s an outdoor space so you can smoke/vape. We felt that the drinks were pricey, especially the soft drinks. Went there the next day for a lunch which was put on by the venue. It was nice but quite a few of us thought some of it was a bit spacey. All in all would go back.
