We've been eating here for years. The food is always well cooked but then Steve & Co have had plenty of practice. Great value full English and super hot sarnies too. No matter how busy they are you are always made to feel welcome. It's worth taking the trouble to find this place and become a regular. Not enough places like this are still around.

I have been using this place for over 20 years now and absolutely nothing ever changes. The place, the staff, the food, the welcome - always excellent and consistent. It isn't the sort of pace you stumble across as it's in a dull cul-de-sac and there isn't even a name over the door. But the regulars all know what a gem it is. The house breakfast is a spectacular plateful and includes the full works for four quid. Smaller options are available for the faint-hearted, of course. Sandwiches are good too - if you order one make sure you ask for crusty bread instead of standard. For a few pence extra you will get something to keep you going all day. The 'Georgie Best' is recommended. (B.E.S.T. = Bacon, Egg, Sausage & Tomato!) Don't go here if you want skinny latte or blueberry pancakes! This is a classic English cafe and it does what it does extremely well. May it continue to do so for another 20 years!

Awful! After waiting well over 40 minutes for food we were very disappointed! Ordered the Chicken schnitzel Caesar salad and lamb rump and mini pie duo. Chicken smelt and breadcrumb tasted like fish, croutons were pure grease, 3 shavings of Parmesan and no onions. I sent it back, explained and said been waiting over 40 minutes for it! Offered a dessert, declined! The lamb rump and mini pie duo should be called mini overall, we did have a voucher but it’s meant to be £21.99. Meant to be roast potatoes with rosemary and garlic but were awful and barely any gravy and lamb quality was poor. Didn’t bother complaining about that as just wanted to leave so spent £50 for nothing with drinks which were expensive too. I got a refund for the Caesar salad but I think they should have offered more after such a long wait and the fact that we went for a meal and it was ruined. I wasn’t risking a dessert, the wait again or poor food! Shame as pub looked lovely! Won’t be coming again!

Absolutely disgusting service from Aisha over the phone. Discussed a booking for Mojitos for an event. A price was agreed and availability was confirmed for the date verbally over the phone. Nearer the event I contacted her to make sure all was okay with the booking - to which I was told they do not remember this conversation ever happened and they would get back to me. I rang a few times after & had messaged however no response. Disgusting customer service. Avoid for booking. Good job I did not rely on this pathetic service.
