I love the BTP! The food is always reliably great and I love the wide range of options available, depending on how I’m feeling. Our server, Matilda, was lovely. Very smiley and pleasant. She helped us with our order and brought extra sauces. Thanks for another great visit! 😊
Great food as always. Only one little thing is the poppadoms are not very crispy in fact 2 out of the 3 I was able to fold them in half without them breaking. But hey it’s only a nit pick.
Despite the things that have happened in our time here, I wasn't going to leave a 'bad' review, but checkout finished me off. I've stayed in hotels all over the UK and worldwide, so I have some experience of good and bad hotels, more than enough to write this sort of review.
Things didn't start well, when we found that our room was a half mile walk from reception, given that my partner let them know on booking that she is disabled.
We went to the 'spa', and it's really poor. The steam room was broken down, the Jacuzzi is that small you can barely fit two people in it, the pool is small, no-one told us we would need padlocks for the lockers. (the pound coin operated ones have no keys) The whole thing is really poor and is badly in need of renovating.
We went back to our room to get ready for dinner, to find there wasn't any hot water. We called down to reception to be told that we weren't the first to complain, but it should be fixed within half an hour. An hour and a half later (making us late for dinner) we called again, to be told that they were still working on it. We had cold showers, but then couldn't get a table in the restaurant so had to eat in the bar.
We woke this morning to find that hot water still hadn't been restored, cold showers again.
We had breakfast, and proceeded to checkout.
The lady on reception was full of insincere apologies, but then proceeded to try and charge us for drinks I'd already paid for at the bar, and food that we had prepaid for. It took us a full ten minutes to get her to reverse her position and to cancel the Charges.
I'm sitting here in reception, writing this review, listening to numerous people complaining about different aspects of this hotel.
What sort of 'luxury' hotel cant contend with boiler failures? Where is the maintenance ?
Attitudes on reception need changing.
I've emailed Radisson's MD directly, but as of yet haven't had a response.
Had been meaning to try for years, given the reputation. Have to say the experience was overall a little disappointing. The ambiance was great, staff were friendly, and enjoyed the overall experience of the restaurant & spending time with the family on my wife’s birthday. However there were a few negatives with the food which means despite the ambiance we probably won’t be going back.
1) Chicken was dry, & you need to order veg separately. Given my wife was the only one that didn’t order pasta, she had to order greens & potatos at £5.95 each which was enough for 2-3 people.
2) Mixed seafood starter contained prawns in shells that basically disappeared by the time you removed the shells
3) The pasta with strips of beef - the beef was tough & difficult to chew
I didn’t say anything at the time as it was my wife’s birthday & didn’t want to put a dampener on the evening. We were asked if it was a special occasion & we said it was my wife’s birthday, but this wasn’t recognised in any way, which I sssume was due to the fact we were in the early sitting & needed to vacate by 8:30pm (we literally finished everything bang on 8:30)
Stopped here for a quick lunch on our way home, we had booked a table online an hour or so before
We arrived to the table set and with a high chair as we had requested, and a friendly member of staff took our food and drinks order
Food arrived very promptly and was very tasty and served pipping hot. Good value for the food
Pub was spotlessly clean, and all the service was friendly and efficient
Will return to try something more than just a quick lunch
we came for a few drinks after dinner else where and it was amazing! will definately be back again and looking forward to trying out the food! service from Keisha and Kae wa superb! so friendly and welcoming and happy to help us with anything! Thanks for the great experience all xx
Great restaurant. I loved the hospitality the best despite the cost and small platter quantity. I had the beef platter for 47£ but i wish there had been more meat and extra condiments were not charged on top. This is london price in coventry and it was not even a buffet. Soju and somek were good but a bit overpriced. Nonetheless, the hospitality was worth it.
The highlight was the hospitality. Having never tried Korean barbecue or somek before, the staff whose name was Yujin generously helped me through them and taught me how to go through the steps. Definitely the highlight of the experience
