Despite the things that have happened in our time here, I wasn't going to leave a 'bad' review, but checkout finished me off. I've stayed in hotels all over the UK and worldwide, so I have some experience of good and bad hotels, more than enough to write this sort of review. Things didn't start well, when we found that our room was a half mile walk from reception, given that my partner let them know on booking that she is disabled. We went to the 'spa', and it's really poor. The steam room was broken down, the Jacuzzi is that small you can barely fit two people in it, the pool is small, no-one told us we would need padlocks for the lockers. (the pound coin operated ones have no keys) The whole thing is really poor and is badly in need of renovating. We went back to our room to get ready for dinner, to find there wasn't any hot water. We called down to reception to be told that we weren't the first to complain, but it should be fixed within half an hour. An hour and a half later (making us late for dinner) we called again, to be told that they were still working on it. We had cold showers, but then couldn't get a table in the restaurant so had to eat in the bar. We woke this morning to find that hot water still hadn't been restored, cold showers again. We had breakfast, and proceeded to checkout. The lady on reception was full of insincere apologies, but then proceeded to try and charge us for drinks I'd already paid for at the bar, and food that we had prepaid for. It took us a full ten minutes to get her to reverse her position and to cancel the Charges. I'm sitting here in reception, writing this review, listening to numerous people complaining about different aspects of this hotel. What sort of 'luxury' hotel cant contend with boiler failures? Where is the maintenance ? Attitudes on reception need changing. I've emailed Radisson's MD directly, but as of yet haven't had a response.

Using the Spa facilities as a member. Joined when it wasn't a Raddison. Now it's offering 365 days of fitness for £365. I pay £36 amonth = £432. No reduction from new ownership. If it had been a Raddison owned at the time I joined. I wouldn't of joined because the way I was treated in one of their hotels in Miami in 1991. Vowed never to used a Raddison again. So grab a barging if you want to join a spa. Pool not so big. Suana facilities ok. Jacuzzi fit 4 as the time.

2025: new owner, Radisson. Much better stay, with an excellent room, service and great location. Thank you Radisson. 2024: My Room had the windows blocked/ covered over, old bathroom fixtures and fittings. I did complain but the hotel was full. The food and service was great, with very well organised conference facilities.

We held our wedding at Albrighton hall hotel recently and it was an amazing experience. Nicki, Sam and Gabby were fantastic in all areas. The planning was incredibly easy with their guidance, we had a stress free day as the 3 of them were amazing and blended in despite being such an instrumental part. We had a buffet style wedding breakfast which ran smoothly and tasted delicious. Our nephew (6 years old) wasn’t a fan of the options we chose, so the staff cooked some chicken nuggets for him, which was a lovely gesture. We arrived back to the bridal suite after a long day, to a lovely bottle of Prosecco, chocolates and slices of our cake. We had a few hours in the spa the day before the wedding. It was clean, and had a pool and jacuzzi with steam rooms. The hotel itself was clean and tidy, the bridal suite was huge, with lots of space for vendors to use. The grounds were well kept and blossomed in the sun. I don’t think our day could have ran and smoother.

My hubby treated me to a beautiful stay at Albrighton Hall for my 50th birthday! 🥳Wanted to say a big thank you to Jacob at the Spa reception, for making us feel very welcome. Claire and Sarah, our fantastic beauty therapists, who made us feel like we were walking on clouds. Very relaxing treatments by both ladies. Marta our breakfast host, who was very helpful and made us feel extra special. Beautiful breakfast. The food at Albrighton hall is of superior quality, you can tell by the freshness and quality of the produce. You are all a huge asset to Albrighton Hall. Thank you, again🎉

Went on a spa day here and had to make a complaint. Jacuzzi was out of action and the pool was full of young babies having swimming lessons. I complained to them as it was not the relaxed spa break I had expected. My complaint has been ignored. I thought an apology was in order but nothing. Would not recommend unless you want a noisy spa day

Albrighton Hall Hotel & Spa – A Stay to Forget Albrighton Hall Hotel & Spa, a member of Radisson Individuals, promises a luxurious retreat, but the reality is a stark contrast. What should have been a relaxing getaway turned into a catalogue of issues, ranging from neglect to outright safety hazards. A Spa Experience Gone Wrong If you’re seeking tranquillity, you won’t find it here. The spa facilities are in a state of serious decline, and the experience was nothing short of appalling. The pool? Ice cold, with broken tiles underfoot that felt like stepping on shards of glass. The jacuzzi, the main reason for booking, was out of order, yet no prior notice was given. Staff members showed no concern—more interested in their phones than their guests. Hygiene and maintenance seem to be an afterthought. The steam rooms reek of mould, the floors are visibly dirty, and the showers? They only offer an arctic blast, as the “hot” setting is non-functional. To top it off, all lights were abruptly switched off while guests were still inside the steam room, followed by the showers being cut off—an absurd and rude way of signalling closing time, a full 15 minutes early. The biggest shock, however, came when leaving the spa. The stairwell was plunged into complete darkness, leaving guests to navigate a hazardous path that included a poorly placed portable disabled ramp—right in front of a fire exit. A serious accident waiting to happen. Dining Disaster Dinner was an experience fit for an episode of Fawlty Towers—but without the humour. The lowlight? A serving of chips in a dish that was chipped and rusted through. When we raised this serious health concern with staff, the response was indifferent at best. The waiter acknowledged the issue, admitted the manager agreed, yet did nothing. No apology. No replacement. Just a flimsy excuse that there should have been a paper lining—as if that somehow made rusted tableware acceptable. Meanwhile, other guests were returning their meals and receiving refunds, while we were treated with complete disregard. A Hotel in Freefall At one point, Albrighton Hall’s spa and facilities may have been something special, but those days are long gone. The neglect is evident everywhere—from the unsanitary floors to the lack of basic safety measures. With broken amenities, inattentive staff, and an overwhelming sense of decay, this is a place to avoid at all costs. Between the trip hazards, the dangerous state of the pool, the unhygienic spa conditions, and even the risk of food contamination, it’s hard to believe this hotel is still in operation. If you value your health, safety, and basic customer service, look elsewhere.

Terrible room. No hot water even after having run the bathroom shower for 30 minutes. Even if there had been hot water the pressure was so low it would have taken several hours to fill the bath. The room was old, tired, not particularly clean and cold with no obvious way of changing the temperature. I hope never to stay here again.

Ive been before with my partner and we really enjoyed it but only had the breakfast, so wasn't sure on the evening meals but I presume they was good, treated my nan here for her birthday as we go to a place every year, upon arrival we was given a room which was in poor state, the door didnt close properly and had to slam it to shut it, curtains was hanging of the rail and a unclipped safety pin in the curtain, which i didn't see until i closed the curtains, the sink plug didnt work so the water was sitting in the sink, we took photos and went to the reception desk and showed them the problems and they was really helpful and let us move rooms to a better room, when we booked our time slot for our evening meal they had booked us 3 meals and cancelled them but only stated that one was cancelled so we presume it was our meal we booked thats had been cancelled, I tried to call the receptionist and I was on hold for half an hour then decided to go downstairs to the receptionist desk and ask why was a slot cancelled, then she stated that they had booked us 3 times but didnt tell us and we had to find out for our selves, food on the first night was amazing book, quite pricey for the little small portions you get, then the next day when we booked our evening meal, we booked it for 6:45, then had a message 7 hours later saying our slot had been cancelled and change to 7:30 which we wasnt sure why and they didnt explain and we didn't wanna keep going to the front desk and seemed like we was constantly complaining, however, the food on this evening was served the mash and chicken was cold waited five minutes for our sides to come out after receiving our main meal there was also bone in both meats myn and my nans we told the waiter and he laughed and said have a good evening, and now this is my lastnight here and wont visit here again as we felt like our problems wasnt solved other than the bedroom situation.

I visited today for a spa day with afternoon tea with my friend. I have a mixed experience really, I wasn't impressed with the spa day. We wasn't given any information on arrival about where to get coffee from or that there was an aquafit class on at 11 o'clock. If we had known this we would have had a swim first then would have gone into the sauna and ice room which we was both looking forward to. The jacuzzi was out of order which again was something we was looking forward to. There seemed to be alot a people on spa days that were unable to relax by the pool as there wasn't enough space. We also had to ask for slippers On a brighter note the afternoon tea was lovely, although we had to wait 25 mins to be served it was worth the wait. Disabled friendly, erm I'm not so sure about that. There was 4 steps up into the dining area which I just about managed but I did notice that the lift was out of order. I guess those people who were staying with mobility problems had another way of getting to their rooms

Myself and friend came for a spa day and afternoon tea , upon arrival we discovered that the jacuzzi was out of order a little disappointed but didn’t think it was a big issue as these things happen . We have been before and really enjoyed the experience but this time we didn’t feel the same . The saunas were great but found that the steam rooms smelt quite strongly of mildew/mould so didn’t particularly fancy going in them . The spa was busy I think from gym users so struggled to find somewhere to sit and relax , in the end we went in the pool for a while but didn’t stay as water was murky . And again after had nowhere to sit so we ended up just sitting on the edge of the out of order jacuzzi . I feel that with the excellent reputation the Albrighton hall hotel has and how beautiful the grounds and rooms are . The spa is an absolute let down for the hotel with broken furniture and equipment . And definitely in need of a makeover , However the afternoon tea we had afterwards was absolutely amazing whitch definitely made up for the rest of the experience.

Exceptional value for the hotel facilities. The spa has a huge range of facilities (two saunas, two steam rooms, ice room, swimming pool, jacuzzi as well as a gym and private treatment rooms) The room was a little in the small side, and could have done with some updating. However for the price we just couldn't complain and I'd definitely go back. Best bits: the price, the fridge in the room, the HUGE BATHROOM, the brilliant spa space, the lovely grounds, the oak-panelled restaurant. Not so great bits: the room was on the small side, we could hear other guests moving around, ( we were woken up at 5:30, as it disturbed our dog. If we were without dog I doubt we would have woken) The spa did get busy at times with children. However there are child-free hours in the pool, and the saunas and steam rooms were quiet.

Nice old style hotel, room was very big but cold as was rest of hotel, it was like the heating didn't work. Reception staff were nice enough, however moving into the spa to be greeted by what seemed like a hyperactive child and then a very moody abrupt lady who seemed to have no interest. The wife's treatment was good tho. The bar staff were hit and miss you would get a really nice chatty one then next time a grumpy so and so but the beer was decent. Food was very good in the evening, however the breakfast was not even premier inn standard. This is probably a lovely place to stay in the summer but in the winter it was a bit desolate and isolated.

Great visit last week and enjoyed a warm welcome, great spa facilities, a good room and the Oak restaurant was excellent. Highlights, big room, no.56, speak was excellent with nice pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Oak restaurant wag excellent and the service was friendly and quick and the food was great. Minor negatives: room is a little tired in places, could do with light sprucing up. There was no telephone extension list for hotel areas, this should be provided. The tv would not switch on twice and I had to go down to protection as the button for reception does not work on the bedside phone. Another reason for extension list. Overall we enjoyed the hotel, great staff and atmosphere. We will definitely visit again.

I am a solo disabled traveller and while other aspects of the hotel are as described by many guests the facilities are not as positive for those of us with mobility issues. I was part of a team staying two nights with our booking made centrally. It is not until you actually stay at the Albrighton that you are aware of the issues for mobility challenged guests. I emailed the hotel in advance as I read on the hotel site that access to the reception was up steps. I asked whether there was an alternative ramped access available. I received no reply. I arrived at 3pm on the day and parked in the main car park. There were no signs directing anyone to any disabled parking. The main car park is a 2-3 minute walk to reception up a slope. I sat in the car park and telephoned reception to ask for directions. I made three phone calls before I was answered. The receptionist Tom was excellent and came to my car and supported me by direction me to park in the spa car park. There were only two disabled bays and both were taken. Tom helped by carrying my bags as I rode my mobility scooter into the building. Tom held the doors open for me, but I am not sure how I would have managed entering the hotel without him. Tom very kindly assisted me to a “chair lift” to the reception level. The lift was only just sufficient to take my mobility scooter and there were safety issues with reversing as there was a danger of reversing off the platform into the lower level. The turning circle of my scooter made it very awkward to leave the platform onto the reception floor. At reception Tom was profusely apologetic that a problem with housekeeping had arisen and he worked at resolving the issue. The route to my room, booked by my representatives as an accessible room was on the ground floor of an outside annexe. I entered my room, with Tom’s excellent personal assistance, at 4pm. One hour after arriving at the hotel. To get to my room we had to reverse our previous journey, down the platform to the lower level and leave the hotel through the bar and travel to the opposite side of the hotel to the spa to another annexe. A five minute journey. My room was on one side of the hotel and my car parked as far away as it could possibly be from my room. The room was a wonderfully large room with walk in shower. Perfect. As a solo traveller I am quite used to hotel room doors being totally inadequate as they are not automatically opening or closing but require me to leave my mobility scooter and somehow hold the door open while trying to manoeuvre the scooter through. In other hotels I have been responsible for removing all the paint from the bottom of the door while manoeuvring entry and exit from the room while on my scooter. These hotels have also advertised themselves as having “accessible” rooms. The service here has been impeccable and truly supportive. The hotel is not modern, has a great deal of charm with wonderful staff but it is not suitable for mobility challenged guests on mobility aids.

Creaky old hotel with creaky old rooms. I bet it's cold in the winter as my high ceiling room (2) had a little electric fire as well as the normal wall radiator. Other than that the room was quite nice with a comfortable bed and a decent TV. The floor is the creakiest floor I have ever walked on. The bar and room service close for hot food at 20:45. Reception think it's later so don't get caught out. The phone in my room was on the blink, kept cutting out. Breakfast was good with lots of choice and all prepared and presented well. Trip was a little Spa break for partners birthday somewhere we could take our dogs as well. Booking seemed easy and booked a suite on a dogs package. Then I read other reviews which basically said dogs not allowed in the suite I had booked us, even though booked via hotels own site and was offered a package with dogs in said suite. Hotel made no effort to contact or correct this even though I asked questions on booking notes. In end phoned for clarification and after a bit of the usual phone tennis had to downgrade to junior suite in order to take dogs. Arrival was a mixed bag. Still a little concerned about room as although had sorted with hotel reception app still showed original booking. Did the pre check-in night before. Chose early arrival. arrived around 2:30 room wasn't ready. Which was fine as it 3pm standard check-in. Walked dogs a bit around lovely ground, returned just after 3 to be told still not ready. Eventually checked in around 3:30. Initially they tried to charge me original full suite room rate which pointed out was wrong and they sorted, (but made me wonder if others who weren't switched on would just have paid and then can put in downgraded room.) Room itself was on top floor and everything was good bar the heat. Room was absolutely roasting. Weather wise it had been a nice day but nothing exceptional especially with some of the UK heaters of recent years. As it was even with all the windows open to there very small limits it was uncomfortable. Not hot enough to be worried for dogs safety but probably mid to high 20s. Dinner taste and presentation wise was spot on but again not sure on the way it was packaged. Got a £25 per head allowance. Which sounds ok but will only get you a subset of the mains on the menu and some potatoes. Realistically a conservative 3 course dinner is going to be nearer £90. Overall food itself was really good so probably worth it but if booking on a budget maybe a bit of a system shock if not made as allowances as isn't clear until you arrive. SPA area itself was good although aroma room was out of order and from other reviews sounds like it been in that state for quite a while. With all that said would stay again, as most of the issues were around setting of expectations and communications. Now know what to expect and what sort of rooms can book would book again. Will be a bit weary about hot weather and room temp.

We loved our much needed weekend away. Beautiful building. Amazing grounds. Our room was a junior suite. The room was spacious and very well maintained. The bathroom was lovely. Even had shampoo and conditioner in case you had forgotten your own. The bed was very large. And very comfortable. I'd advise if you are having an evening meal there book ahead as the reasurant was full both evenings. Breakfast was lovely. Buffet style. Lovely hot options and lots of fruit juices and fruit available. The coffee from the machine was not great. I couldn't drink it. The grounds are beautiful. We had a lovely view. A wedding was happening on our first night. We didn't hear anything. No noise what so ever. Went to the bar for a drink. Bar was busy. Four staff members behind the bar. But only one seemed to be working, and he was rushed off his feet and was struggling to keep up. People around us weren't happy with the wait. As people had been waiting a long time to be served. Very clean room. Did find a used tissue under the bed. Unfortunately, on our second night, we went to open the window to find an awful smell coming through the window. We looked out the window to see a sanitary product on the roof. The staff were amazing when my husband went down to reception to tell them. They came to our room to have a look. Seems someone in the hotel had been flushing sanitary products down the toilet and created some kind of blockage. The two members of staff were mortified, to say the least. But that's no reflection on the hotel or cleanliness of the hotel. Its oblivious guests flushing products they shouldn't have been. It was an amazing stay. We will go back again.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and you could not complain about the staff the hotel and the beautiful grounds. Unfortunately this morning at breakfast a couple caused quite a lot of distress to the head of service Marta. They were determined to complain about everything and were very vocal. Maybe these type of people should not frequent these hotels and make other customers feel very uncomfortable. Hats off to Marta who was very professional with this rude couple even though they made her feel very undervalued. We will definitely be staying here again. Thank you for your hospitality.

Myself and my mum Recently visited the spa. However, we left wishing we hadn’t bothered. 2/5 thermal rooms were available, the jacuzzi had so much chlorine in it made us cough and burnt our eyes. Lunch was average- we were put in a corner and served salad using the ends of lettuce. The only enjoyable part of the day where the treatments we received and sitting in the sun. If it wasn’t such a nice day we would’ve left immediately following the treatments. I then emailed the spa following our visit (2 weeks ago now) and haven’t received any response which is very disappointing as I would like to discuss the visit. I wouldn’t recommend the spa to anyone as it isn’t worth going. However, if you’re looking for a relaxing massage this is a service they provide which is good.

Came for our Honeymoon that was bought as a wedding present. Had a horrendous experience. The person who bought us the stay was not advised at any points that treatments in the spa were limited and needed pre booking, as soon as we got there we went to book our treatments to be told they were all gone for the 2 days we were there. We took this on the chin and went to use the rest of the facilities. The "jaccuzi" was absolutely TINY and only fitted 2-3 adults in at ant time, the pool heater must have been broken because it was FREEZING, colder than the ice room. We were unable to use both of these things. We headed through to the saunas and steam rooms, to find 3 beds to sit on for a spa that's meant to be use for a large hotel- not great. On top of all this, one sauna was broken! With how busy it was, such little space and half the facilities broken, we hardly used to spa which is what we came for. We ate in the bar on the evening and let's say the experience of my new husband and I fighting for the toilet wasn't fun, either! To top it all off, the automatic lights in our corridor didnt turn off ALL night so we were very distrubed by the lifhts shining through our door all night! We spoke to TOM, apparently the reception manager, who took my details with the promise of sending a complimentary stay in an upgraded room as an apology and a chance to redo our honeymoon. After several attempts to contact since, we have STILL received no communication and no comp visit. We have given you ample time to try to rectify these issues and Albrighton just aren't interested, as soon as they have the money that's that, they don't care at all about the guests and it really shows. Please don't make the same mistake as us, our experience was completely ruined and so was our honeymoon. After a little research when I got home, I now realise why this place is on so many Wowcher deals. Disappointing, upsetting, disgusting place who don't care about the service they provide AT ALL. I reccommend Fairlawns for a luxury spa stay, much better than here.

I don't like giving poor reviews but I felt I needed to here. This review in no way reflects on the staff who were nothing short of exemplary, they did their very best to attend to us and our requests, special note to Morgan and the guy doing the repairs (sorry I didn't get his name) however the owners/management should really take note. All 3 rooms had problems, all had hot water issues, one of which had scalding hot water coming out both hot and cold taps which rendered the shower not only unusable but dangerous, the others were the opposite, getting them just to run warm was a challenge. The room I stayed in had toilet flushed hanging off the wall, towels that smelt like they had been washed in lard , the room was baking hot when we got there, we struggled opening the French doors as they had swollen in the wet weather, we did get them opened but it's no fun trying to close them when you're suited and booted having to crawl around on the floor trying to get them to close, the carpet was in drastic need of a clean as well as refitting as it was pulled up and loose in the bathroom doorways, add to that the ceiling light hanging on by a thread and yesterday's vomit on the skirting board... And that's just the one room. You'd expect more for £130 a night, I'd have asked to be moved but the room wasn't ready until 3pm and the wedding started at 3.30 so time was limited. The breakfast whilst well cooked and with a good selection was disappointing, a buffet is fine by me but if the kitchen staff can't handle that many people then perhaps it needs rethinking. We booked 3 rooms over a year ago for our adult family, unfortunately the 3 rooms couldn't have been further apart, we did ask at the time of booking that the rooms be closer together as one of our group is Autistic and we all need to support her, not so easy when you're split apart. The saving grace and the reason I didn't give 1 star was simply down to the staff, they couldn't do enough for us, exceptionally welcoming, polite and always had a smile on their faces. There's a premier inn up the road, just because you hold weddings there doesn't give you the right to take advantage of your clientele or your staff

To start off, it's in some beautiful grounds, and the main building looks lovely. The rooms are very large and the bathroom with a bath and shower is great. However, staying in stable accommodation is not. You have to walk past the delivery entrance that has a lorry every morning waking you up. The WiFi is abysmal, and the room is still cold even when on full heat. The main thing that let's the place down though is the staff. They are clearly minimum wage for minimum effort, and some are even quite rude and don't know how to talk to customers.

We bought our family for a short break. Spent time in the spa, and partook in afternoon tea. The whole day was amazing from start to finish. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating.

Partner booked a one night stay, hotel grounds are beautiful and the location is good. The rooms were nice however the bathroom could do with a touch up visible mould around the bath and shower head was falling off. I highly recommend the spa treatements especially the back massage given by Natalia, she was very friendly and made me feel comfortable and I can honestly say it was one of the best massages I've ever experienced.

Food - good. Room - spacious and warm, floor very uneven - my case rolled - actually fell down the step because I didn’t see it and wasn’t warned there was a step in the room En suite - clean, lovely toiletries, door didn’t close and latch to lock it not working Facilities in the room - no indication that tea and coffee were in a cupboard. Only one hot chocolate sachet Pool area - pool smaller than it seemed in the pictures, pool water not clear, no instructions on how to use the very hot hot jet tub. Nobody on reception for the pool so we didn’t know we needed a pound for the locker. General - hotel is a lovely old building with original features, but the stairs felt quite uneven and I felt unsafe on some. No lift and in the furthest possible room (I think) Outside - very pretty, even though it is February so not much growing. Many wobbly paving slabs, especially concerning on the paved steps. Unfortunately will not be returning and will have to seriously consider whether to book any Mercure hotel based on the website description again

Positives: - Hotel with nice surroundings, - Garden is lovely, - Service was top class and everyone was very polite and professional - In the rooms you have everything you would need while being away from your home, - Affordable both in terms of room renting and price of food in restaurant. Areas for improvement: - rooms have not been modernized for some time and you can see heavy usage especially in bathroom, - menu in Oak restaurant needs to have more choice, - management of bookings - booking confirmed in email, but on arrival nothing in the system and the reception team did not expect anyone - location - a lot heritage sites around in the area of hotel plus it's close to Wales border and hills.

I stayed 2 nights to enjoy a rest and use the pool/spa facilities. It was a great stay. However, I was disappointed that the pool was not open according to the times on the letter I was given on arrival. It was one of the main reasons I chose the hotel so finding it closed (after deliberately turning up according to the hours I'd been given) was a shame. I was also surprised that in a "superior" room, only soap and shampoo were provided - no hair conditioner which is considered a basic. I was very grateful though that reception were able to give me some toothpaste as I'd forgotten mine.

Stopped here for a quick lunch on our way home, we had booked a table online an hour or so before We arrived to the table set and with a high chair as we had requested, and a friendly member of staff took our food and drinks order Food arrived very promptly and was very tasty and served pipping hot. Good value for the food Pub was spotlessly clean, and all the service was friendly and efficient Will return to try something more than just a quick lunch

Two real including Oracle - in good fettle - on offer. Lively rock music being played, not too oppressive. Plenty of seating in busy area near English bridgecand on St. Julian Friars. Handy for Masala Indian restaurant if you need to slake your thirst after a curry.
