Jinseon Korean BBQ Restaurant & Bar in Coventry

The platter was like sourcing pork belly and marinated beef from Sainsbury’s downstairs, reselling for 5X profit, too greedy, too pricy. The music is too loud which ruins atmosphere. Absolute a shame and wouldn’t recommend.

Last September, during Chuseok, I decided to eat at a Korean restaurant because it was Chuseok, so I ate kimchi stew, and I remember it being so delicious. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the staff at Jinseon Korean Restaurant for providing the best experience on Chuseok evening!!

I have eaten authentic Korean food at friends' homes. I was kind of disappointed. They also delivered Coke instead of Diet Coke. A can with 35 grams of sugar. 🙄

I loved it. I've been twice now, a couple of years apart. The food was delicious. We had the surf and turf bbq platter, 2 portions of steamed rice, spicy chips and cheesy teobokki (I'm sure that's spelt wrong)! The bulgogi beef was the star for us. It was so tender and flavoursome. I ate it in the lettuce wraps (as recommended) and more traditional, my oyher half plopped it all on his plate but enjoyed it just as much as I did. I can't wait to come back again.

This isn't just your average meal, no, this is an experience! A particularly delicious experience. We went for my birthday meal and made a great choice in doing so. One of the staff helped us to start off with on how to use the bbq and condiments and then left us to cook up a storm. We had the surf and turf platter. 4 enormous prawns, scallops in their shells, beef and garlic pork. Glass noodles, and crispy lettace and pickles to compliment the meats etc. It was Delicious and great fun too.

Been here to eat several times now over the last few years, and each time is always as good as the last. We typically order a portion of fries and korean friend chicken each and then a selection of meats, typically beef and lamb as we don't eat pork. My favourite is the cumin lamb, its so juicy and flavoursome. The lorean BBQ comes with scrambled egg, cheesy corn, lettuce for wraps and kimchi included in the price. Their cocktail jugs are also delicious and great for two to share. The service is always great and efficient and the staff are so attentive and happy to help with recommendations, etc. They are accommodating also, as last two times I've come with my partner and baby in pushchair and we've always been seated with plenty of space.

I have read some of the reviews, and I can honestly say the staff are really attentive. The food is really nice and the cost although it does cost a fair bit, you.do gey quality food so you get what you pay for. Regular customers and enjoy it there.

Top restaurant, could eat the Dirty KFC, morning, noon, and night. If I’m even on death row, it’ll be my last meal.

The flavours were harmonious and the presentation was simply delightful. Moreover, the staff were most accommodating and attentive, ensuring our every need was met with elegance and ease. I must say, it was a dining experience that did not disappoint in the slightest.

Good food, friendly service, you can order meat to grill yourself, which is a bit more expensive, or ready-made dishes, which is also quite ok. An interesting experience.

We visited Jinseon to try their “Korean” BBQ, but our experience was far from authentic. To start, the rice served was long grain, which is not the traditional type associated with Korean BBQ. This choice didn’t blend well with the rest of the food and detracted from the overall experience. Moreover, the quantity of meat provided was lacking. I was also disappointed by the lack of authenticity in both the food quality and presentation, especially since I had to ask for chopsticks, which were not available at the table. Overall, I don’t believe we will be returning to Jinseon for another meal.

Very tasty food. Portions are fine. Prices are also fine for the quality and portions size.

We had the mixed BBQ platter, KFC chicken, and fried chips—all were delicious. Just a heads-up, you might leave with a bit of a BBQ smell, so be prepared! I highly recommend getting a BBQ table to fully experience the vibe. We celebrated my mother’s birthday, and the restaurant surprised us with a sundae, which was a lovely touch. Special thanks for that!

Very poor quality food, not authentic at all, rice tastes like plastic don’t know when they made it. DO NOT GO THERE!

Good size portion even for KFC and on the more spicy side. We enjoyed the food and would come back again for BBQ sometime.

Korean BBQ is really great at Jinseon. However, I've noticed they've changed the sauces that used to come with the BBQ. This is unfortunate, but the beef is still great quality. Service is great and they attend to you to make sure your experience there is smooth.

Agreed with others. They sell fake Korean food. It's up to the restaurant whatever they sell, but don't label it as ramen with Korean written next to it on the menu. It's nowhere near Korean ramen, neither the noodles nor the spice. It's cheap udon noodles with red coloured sauce, suspiciously vinegared red pepper paste. No need to mention the unfriendly and rude staff, as others have already said. Definitely the worst Korean restaurant experience of my life.

While it was easy to order through the qr code at the table and service fast, the food was very much a disappointment. Everything we had lacked flavour and was very very bland. Korean food is usually tasty with plenty of spice, but this food lacked both. I definitely won't be going back

Definitely the worst Korean restaurant I’ve been to in all of the UK. The chicken wings were extremely dry inside and soggy on the outside. They were advertised as extremely hot but were sweet. The staff were very rude. The food came quick but it was too quick, all the dishes came out in the span of 5 minutes, the food is definitely frozen and reheated. Just disgusting.

The prices are more expensive than London. This is definitely not authentic Korean food. The meat was hard, not off the bone and it tasted more like beef stew. The menu also stated the dish serves two to three people but the portions were tiny. This is worst Korean restaurant I’ve been to in England. I’ve been to better restaurants in London which are significantly tastier, cheaper and offer better service. Please avoid.

We went as a couple for the first time, so we were kind a new to a experience, but would be so much better if you would go go as a group of 4. Food amazing, service second to none. Highly recommended

First time here and have to say it's a really good place to dine out. We had the Surf and Turf as well as the meat platter for the BBQ and you do get a decent amount for the price. The kimchi was really good too. A great night out.

This was our 3rd time coming, it’s just excellent, and the Korean Fried Chicken is just legendary. Recommend the Kimchi Pork Fried Rice, and Szechuan pork shoulder for the BBQ. We’ll be back again soon.

I’m not a Korean but it doesn’t look like authentic Korean food for me. Didn’t go for bbq but the bibimbap was somehow having mushroom and cucumbers in there. Not bad for the taste but it wouldn’t be what you expecting in a korean one. Ordered: bibimbap, a toppaki and a korean chicken The atmosphere is quite good though.

Great experience. Very different to other 'main stream' dining experience. It's definitely a meal I won't forget quickly. It was creative, tasty and great. I must say though, if you want good beer, this is not the place. Also, if the menu indicates that something is spicy hot, it is!

Our waiter, Seojun, was patient and eager to help us and greatly contributed to our great experience.

The kbbq here is always so good. We’ve been twice now and have not been disappointed. The meats were all very well seasoned and marinated, and the scallops tasted fresh and tender. Egg and corn cheese are also included when you order kbbq. We also got the honey butter chips and these were some of the crispiest chips I’ve had in this country. Definitely recommend a visit!

Really great food. We had the meat platter and it was fantastic. Their own bottled bbq sauce was amazing too. The staff were very busy but quick to help you out if you needed it. Would definitely come back.

I have seen lots of videos online of restaurants in Asia where the customer cooks the food and have always wanted to try it. I was very excited to find we have such a restaurant here in the UK during a work visit to Coventry. The staff were very friendly and were able to accommodate our large group without a booking (please don't make the same mistake as us and instead book in advance!), we were shown to a table and after a few minutes another staff member turned up to add the coals to our grill. The menu is extensive with a wide ranges of meats to cook. The food arrived quickly and we were able to start cooking our meat. The food was delicious and easy to cook, but it is important to make sure the food is cooked thoroughly before eating it (this isn't too hard and you get the hang of it quickly). A bowl of boiled rice was a perfect accompaniment to the rich meats especially those marinated in soy, garlic and ginger. The overall experience of Jinseon was fantastic. I really enjoyed the social aspect of cooking the food with those in our group and the taste was amazing. The meal was quire pricey but I think it was well worth it.

Food was OK. I have to say that it was not my type of food. But it was good and staff is nice and friendly. When you go you can choose your bbq and they will bring and you cook on your table and enjoy.

I don't know why such a good restaurant hire a really nauseating staff. Food is pretty nice but the black employee ruin this experience. When I got the check, I found I don’t have extra 0.52 pound to cover the bill. I asked him whether he can give me a little bit more discount like 70.52 pounds decrease to 70 pounds which that’s all I have got. He said no with a really bad attitude and said he had to cancel and we should paid by card(10percent discounts by cash). I said give me some seconds I will come back to pay. The black man might pretend to not hearing this. When I come back to pay the money, he even gave me wrong change? What can I said? Except the black guy every staff are nice, the guy should be educated again because I think he might ruin your reputation. I dine here many times, only the black guy sxxks.

I’ve only ordered on deliveroo so i can’t judge the service or atmosphere but the food is great, i order every week and i’m yet to be dissapointed

Very rarely I give a review while sat in a restaurant’ One of the best tasting Korean BBQ’ with onsite BBq facility. Get the freshest spiced up lean cut steak and do it yourself! Not for ordinary but would say a RIDE OR DIE kind of place’ Some may absolutely not like it and for a connoisseur of taste and tonality it’s tantalizing and hits the right spot. Enjoy 😊

The Korean BBQ was great. The atmosphere and food was excellent. Although the Korean Fried Chicken was not up to expectations but the Meat Platter we ordered was fantastic. The staff were friendly and polite despite the bustling restaurant.

My husband and I went for a dinner at Jin Seon. This was my second time having their barbeque after 7 years as I moved to Scotland. We went for a visit to Coventry, and the only place I missed is Jin Seon. The quality of the meats are amazing, and they have proper coal and the meats were grilled on charcoal directly instead of a pan. I love the little fan on top of the grill that absorb all the smell and smokes from the grill! Husband ordered the korean fried chicken, and he said the portion and taste are incredible! He loves it! Not only the food is amazing, but they properly thought of all the other aspects of cooking and its authenticities (bowls, cooking utensils, cutleries, etc..are from South Korea) We then ordered a desert - croffle biscoff! Oh my God…that was one of the best dessert I have had !!!!!!!! Will defo come back!!!!!!

Absolutely delicious! The Korean BBQ was flavoured to perfection . You cook on authentic hot coals 🔥🔥 (which isn't the case at most Korean restaurants). Lots of great choices on the menu, we will be coming back! 🤩😇

The food was ok, as a regular costumer, I can say one year ago was better than this. Also and more importantly, the service was very bad from my last two times experience. First there were no seasonings on our table, the waiters did not even notice and I requested it the first time. Then we waited for 10 minutes for the heat with the BBQ meat already served. After that we waited for more than 5 mins because we didn’t have scissors and tools to make the bbq. Yes, I requested the scissors again because the staff didn’t even notice we were sitting there just waiting, only for scissors and tools. Also, I feel very offended that our table got differently treated. Waiters came here and ask two tables around us if they were satisfied with the food, but not us. They did not even ask if we need anything else. In the end when we requested to takeaway the rest, they gave us the tray without the take away bag, so how do you think the costumer can take out the tray with meat inside???? So I requested the third time. The meal was more than £70, and of course we paid £7 for the service charge, but I DO FEEL WE PAID FOR NOTHING. Very disappointing experience.

Me and my friends have frequented Jinseon for over 2 years now, and each visit is as marvellous as the last. Their service is wonderful and the food is cracking. I cannot recommend it enough.

Weren't seated when we arrived when there were plently of spaces - we weren't told why. We also were not seated with any menus - we weren't sure if the waiting staff would give us some. A waitress left some plates and cutlery on our table - she didn't notice. After about 10 minutes, I had to ask for the menus, and then a further 15 minutes later I had to go up and ask to order; the waitress who took our order didn't seem to care in the slightest. People who were seated and ordered after us received their food before we had even ordered ourselves. Drinks were brought promptly and were correct (bar was on the floor at this point). My partner received his food in good time, mine about 15 minutes later when he had finished and the waiter just dumped it in the empty space next to us and ran off. Although there are signs as you walk in, and by the kitchen to wait at the door, delivery drivers just barge in when no-one is on the door, and just stand at the kitchen shoving their phones in the poor chef's faces. This also meant, as we were sat on the left as you come in, we had loads of people linger around our table waiting. It was not a pleasant experience. Will not be returning. Nice food, but small portions and abysmal customer service.

The food was ok, but the service was too bad. We were two people, ordering 2 BBQ dishes, and black bean noodles. The waiters and waitresses were very friendly, but the hostess couldn't be ruder. They required min 2 orders of meat dishes for BBQ and the waiter seemed not to know that, or either did we. The hostess then told us to order one more portion, which to me, was understandable, but she rushed me to order immediately, while I was telling her that I wanted to discuss what to order more with my friend who was in the restroom at the time, so I'd make order more once they came back. She seemed not to listen to me at all and couldn't wait for 3min while she could have told the kitchen to hold our table's order. This was disappointing. The kitchen served the meat just under 5min after we finalized the additional order, so it proved to me the issue was their unprofessional service quality. Anyway, recommended for those having Korean BBQ craving, worth a try. I'm not sure if I will come back.

The food here was absolutely delicious and arrived super quick. For once we got regular food and not BBQ and it was really tasty.

The food was nice. Service was ok. We were sat in the back conservatory with a white piece of wood attached to the table as a partition. It was very annoying and atmosphere was very dull. I didn't enjoy my time there at all. The red date honey tea was heavenly tho.

The food is some of the best Korean food I've had. I've been here many times and will continue to go back in the future. The downfall is the service, 50% of staff are lovely and 50% are not. Some very accommodating and some not. Tables can range from secluded, comfortable and friendly, to in the middle of the restaurant with metal seats and being knocked into by servers regularly.

It is honestly such a lovely restaurant to go to when you want to indulge and just have a chilled afternoon/ evening out. I had the Beef Bulgogi, BBQ Pork Shoulder and the Korean Honey Butter Fried Chicken which were super flavourful and really tasty! I had the garlic belly which I unfortunately found lacked flavour.. that’s not to say I wanted it to be infused with garlic because I’m not really a garlic fan but I could taste any seasoning and had to use the sauces they provided and the sauce from the fried chicken to make it taste nice. However, because the other items were amazing, it wasn’t too bad. I also had the Strawberry Cocktail as a pitcher and they reaaalllyyy need to share that recipe because it is *chefs kiss*!! That one right there is a creeper because it honestly just tastes like juice aha! And lastly the service was amazing.. it was swift and the food came quick and timely fashion. They are doing a spectacular job, I hope they keep it up because I’ll definitely be going again!

The food is not authentic Korean. There was pickled yellow radish in Bibimbap (why?) and the spicy Bulgogi looked and tasted like a Chinese stir-fry (very oily!). Also, why is a pineapple stir fry on the menu? Nobody eats that in Korea. I can only assume this restaurant is not run by Koreans.

How rude! I called 3 times to try and book a last minute table. The first time I called I was hung up on. The 2nd time I reached voicemail. The 3rd time someone answered and proceeded to tell me how fully booked they were, and then hung up on me without letting me speak a word! SO RUDE!

Great food great atmosphere. Reasonably priced food quality food. portion sizes on the main meals are big and you can box it up for home. what more do you want. 👌

Very enjoyable meal, the Korean fried chicken was delicious, nice and spicy, also tried the Seafood Pajeon which we particularly enjoyed It was certainly a busy place and I understand why as it was tasty and excellent value

Food was good, kimchi supremacy. But the kitchen noise, the table right beside the kitchen was awful. It was just constant noise from the kitchen. We don't know why they were throwing things.

There was hair in my Food and staff and the Manager accused us of putting the hair the food. Not Acceptable

Went to JKB restaurant a handful of times and their food is toooooo good , the food is amazing and authentic, I always eat soo much to the point where I feel like my stomach will explode but I still eat anyways… that’s how good they are make sure to book beforehand cuz it gets really busy

Loved it! I took my daughter for her birthday. We went for lunch. Relaxed dining. We had the meat platter and a few sides. A staff member helped us cook, after that we asked to cook for ourselves. Nice vibe inside. Would definitely go again with friends and more family

Food here is absolutely gorgeous, I had fireworks chicken and belly pork bibimbap. I have had the barbecue here too which was divine. It gets busy. You can choose knife and fork or chop sticks.

I came here for the first time a couple of weeks ago with some friends visiting from out of town. This restaurant completely surpassed all of our expectations. From the moment we walked in, there was a lovely cosy atmosphere. The staff here were very attentive to our needs, and we received everything we ordered and our BBQ grill being lit promptly. Korean BBQ is such a relaxed dining experience that really allows you to socialise and enjoy your company whilst grilling food for each other. If booking in advance, you can make requests for your table online. I'd recommend considering the season and requesting something away from the door if it is cooler, it does get drafty with delivery people collecting orders. I expect this might be a desirable spot in the summer when things heat up though!

Amazing experience! The quality of meat is really good and the barbeque it makes even better. Nice atmosphere and be prepared to smell like smoke once you get outside the restaurant. If you order the meat platter, will arrive with some sides which are really good but also you can order more sides if you want. The cocktails are really big and tasty, highly recommend to try this restaurant and their barbeque.

Great restaurant, variety of marinated meats available where you can also cook it yourself in the middle of your table. Good selection of sake, wine, beers and cocktails. Wasn't expensive either. Busy with a great atmosphere.

The portions are ok for two people. Taste is a let down even if there is salt and pepper and some condiments provided, it doesn’t help. Price is high if you expect me to cook my own food.

Hemos ido mi pareja y yo en varias ocasiones para comer barbacoa y siempre nos vamos super contentos. Las carnes están buenísimas, y los acompañamientos también son muy sabrosos. Los postres también merecen mucho la pena. 100% recomendable.
