Had a collection to make from down the road so broke the journey up with an overnight stay. Room was lovely, food was superb and the staff were freindly. Would definitely recommend.
Been here twice and enjoyed thoroughly!
Food is high quality, great portion sizes. Staff have all been friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable.
The wait for food was short, "happy hour" style drink offers on cocktails in the evening. I would definitely recommend the non alcoholic options or lemonades - they are incredible, taste great and really refreshing.
There isn't much in the way of places like this in Melksham so I would definitely suggest it to anyone local or further afield because it is a great place for anyone whether for a special occasion, meeting, lunch, anything.
Try it if you haven't!

Booked for a get together with my extended family as a half way point. Absolutely brilliant service, very generous portions on the Sunday roast. Everyone was very happy with the food and the service was terrific. We had 4 roasts and 2 menu items, the roast was from the carvery, so ready whenever you were, the staff offered to give us a heads up before the menu items were due out so the ones who chose carvery could go get theirs in time so we could all eat at the same time, which was really great, and something we hadn't considered.
Delicious puddings too!
Definitely a place to visit, we're planning on booking our Christmas meal there, if they're open, despite the 60mile round trip.
We stayed for three very pleasant nights and dined twice. An attentive manager supported by his young but professional resturant staff enhanced an excellent experience. Obviously with its good resturant grading we expected good food. We got it - A very good chef resides here. We tried fish & chips the first night - absolutely lovely. The second dinner we went for nibbles to start followed by Cod chowder dishes with new potatoes, amazing special fries & fresh peas with asparo. Very good portions were served and all were perfectly cooked. The french wine we chose was equally good. Next time we visit the area we will stay & dine here.
Visited the Pepper Mill the other day with friends and had a great time. I had the sirloin and my friends had the flat iron steak and a risotto which we were all very pleased with. Our server Tania also did a lovely job and made our visit even more enjoyable.
Walked past Leonardo's La Piazza many times, saying 'we must try there', so we at last went for a quick lunch. This was a weekday so it wasn't too busy. There's a good menu - not just pizzas.
We had just a main course each:
Canneloni Verde for me and it was excellent. Well made and plenty of a light cheese sauce.
Hawaiian Pizza for my wife which was very good and more than she could eat, but they provided a box to take away the uneaten portion.
I was a bit disapppointed that there were no options of anchovies, olives or capers - or maybe I just missed them. Had they been an option I'd probably have had a Margarita pizza with the above - but then I'd have missed the Canneloni Verde.
Staff friendly and attentive.
Comfortable space with 2 levels of seating inside and good outside space under a gazebo looking onto Salisbury Market Square. Worth a visit if you like Italian food.
Had lunch here today. Totally loved it. Short drive from Bristol, and it was a delight, the small pub had maintained its traditional feel. The food was exactly as I had hoped, stylish and quality pub grub. Will definitely be back and would recommend everyone 👌 🙂
