What a great place for locals and visitors alike to meet up and have food and/or beverages. Jen and her staff are very welcoming as are the regulars. The breakfast is hearty and coffee good. There’s a good range of herbal teas too. For a small cafe it offers a good range of food which is always freshly prepared with most of the ingredients locally sourced. Highly recommend Jen’s 👍🏽

Despite living in Tavistock The Mary Tavy Inn has been one of those places we kept meaning to go. Tonight we finally went and wow!! It’s beautiful, super cosy, a total vibe. The staff were brilliant, the food was brilliant. The whole experience start to end was perfect. Highly recommended. We can’t wait for the warmer weather to check out the beer garden.

Popped in here on the off chance when in Devon for weekend and stopped as we were hungry. We followed brown signss to a lovely small pub with limited parking, It looked pretty busy but one table was free which we gratefully sat at. Although all seats were taken, the pub did not feel crowded. We both had a Sunday roast, I had lamb and husband belly pork. What a lovely meal, plenty of meat, crispy roast potatoes, red cabbage, swede, parsnips and Yorkshire pudding served on the plates with an additional dish with peas, carrots, brocoli, cauliflower, kale, sweetcorn and gravy all cooked and served to perfection. The staff were friendly and helpful. A really lucky find and a large, delicious meal at a reasonable price.

Make a date in your diary to have a Sunday Lunch ! 2 choices of meats (beef and pork) on the Sunday we went. (16/2/25) Absolutely top notch crackling with the pork and superb well cooked veg with plenty to belly fill. Beef was excellent and a proper full plateful. Desserts vary and are delightful. Plenty of choice of local ales and lagers served with enthusiasm and huge smiles from a couple of lovely bar ladies. Roaring log fire on a bloody cold day was extremely welcome as was the atmosphere where we felt comfortable and welcome. Will be back again for more !!

Had a roast today, really nice, proper potatoes roasted and nice pork, others in the party had burgers and enjoyed them. Wasn’t offered carrots or cauliflower cheers (extra charge) table wasn’t laid up even though we booked, Staff were very nice but bar staff seemed very busy and you could feel the stress as soon as we turned up, One thing I’d ask the owners, put yourself in our position and sit in those small uncomfortable straw like chair and an hour in a table that’s not big enough for 4 people, I could not even get my legs in let alone be seated comfortably, I had to wait till the table behind left to get up and out to let blood revitalise my legs. Nice roast but until seating is sorted I’ll not be back and that’s a shame as your food is lovely.
