We walked in and received an unwelcoming stare from 3 members of staff who were sat around talking as if we had just interrupted them. The young girl behind bar seemed polite. We asked if food was being served and our request was met with a huff from one of the ladies sat talking who informed us they weren’t going to do food tonight so will have to wait until an hour later. The looks given by the other two sat down weren’t inviting and made us feel uncomfortable. There was no atmosphere (no background music playing etc) just conversations between staff. We politely paid for a drink and left. Would not return and would not recommend.

We found this little gem on the way home and the staff and food was lovely, The staff were very polite, courteous and warm, They even sung happy birthday to my wife as it was her birthday. We returned the next day for the carvery which was really delicious and well prepared. Thank you for showing us your hospitality skills and the bar maid that served us was very warm and professional so thank you so much for making our visit to Cornwall very enjoyable.

Lovely little place with an attached farm shop. Plenty of covered seating outside to enjoy your meal. The attached farm shop was well stocked with local and independent products and also serves hot drinks and food for travellers passing through. For my fellow wheeled adventurers there is a ramp into the Inn and the shop is flat though the aisles are a little narrow for a chair. I used a walking frame and hitched the seat up to squeeze through without an issue. The owner also offered to move things to make it easier but it really wasn't necessary in my case. The toilets are located outside and kindly left open even when the Inn is closed. There is a disabled toilet accessible with a radar key. We couldn't try the food from the Inn on this visit but we've saved this place in our factories to stop by on our next South West adventure.

Extremely disappointed. Booked well in advance given the size of our party - including dogs. We were not seated together, got overlooked at the bar for locals ordering drinks, meals randomly appeared over 1hr45, a real vary in quality- game pie was deemed a hit but most of the others were not great, lasagna burnt and the garlic bread burnt outside and cold butter inside as an example. Final straw was waiting for the last meal, everyone else had eaten, we asked for it to be cancelled so we could just pay and leave - we had been seated for nearly 2 hours at this point. It was then rushed out and was basically raw chicken. The young girl serving was just left to it. No owner or manager interaction. Not a great experience. I would push people towards Tavistock for better quality and atmosphere.

Really sorry to leave a low review.. popped in here a couple weeks ago to find out the menu was limited to chips/scampi/kids food due to the manager having to isolate after being abroad (this meant the chef couldn’t come in??). The main pub floor was filthy, needing a good hoover, also the toilets were dirtier than public loos. On the plus side the girl behind the bar was really nice and polite.

Sadly we had a very bad experience at this pub. We had booked a table for 7:30, arrived and bought a drink, food had to be ordered from a waitress. (this took sometime), finally ordered about 7:50. Waited, and waited for our food. Was told it was coming, but still no sign. at 8:45, finally asked how long our food would be, to be told they hadn't even started cooking it! Told them to forget it!! VERY disappointed.

We were camping nearby and decided to have a night off of the Calor gas cuisine.Arrived just before 6 and were greeted by a very friendly young lady who provide us with pints of the local beer.We were directed through to the restaurant area where our order was taken by the same friendly young lady. When the food arrived, the Timbale of Prawns with Chorizo had morphed itself into Prawn Tempura with a Sweet Chilli Dipping sauce. The medium rare steak, well let’s just say a good vet could have got it up and running, it was blue. The two Lasagnes with garlic bread had last their garlic bread and found some chips. When it came to desserts at least two of the options were unavailable. It may just have been coincidence that both options involved Mango!?The food was perfectly okay, summing it up I would say we’d been taken back to the 1990s, the food was of that calibre.Would I eat there again? Yes, but the place and the menu needs a serious update. The beer was fabulous however

Service was outstanding and friendly. I should have reviewed this in the past as all the meals are very good. Check before you arrivethat they are serving food as they only cook on so many days per week. That said there food is worth waiting for. Thank you all.
