Unfortunately this restaurant did not live up to expectation. It was very local to us but unfortunate ly we were not tempted to return there. The establishment has now closed and become a private residence.

Looking at these reviews, I must’ve gone in on a really bad day! I was literally there is the door opened at noon and the first customer in the door. It took around 10 minutes to get my portion of chips so I assume they were freshly cooked. I considered that the prices were extremely expensive so I was expecting half decent at least but I can honestly say, despite the lovely cheerfulness of the owner, these were the worst chips I’ve ever had in my life from a takeaway I might as well have pulled out a packet of walkers crisps onto my plate. They were all refried crispy nothings. There was a little that resemble potato anywhere. I also ordered a pickled onion, which I didn’t actually get, the curry sauce was bland, the sausages were liked by the dogs and extremely overpriced for the size. In fact, the only good thing about this meal was the mushy peas. As I say, maybe I caught them on a bad day, but I would certainly never be returning

Normally it's very good - both food and service. Basic pub food but very tasty and good value. Unfortunately, I couldn't say the same this time. The service was poor (unless you were a local); the staff spent all their time socialising rather than serving. No one asked us if everything was OK - it wasn't - , checked if we needed more drinks or wanted desserts etc.
