The best restaurants in West Devon South West

Smallest portion of Medium chips i have ever purchased.

So we had googled dog friendly places to stop for food on our way home from Cornwall. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 dogs. Definitely not dog friendly. When we arrived out of courtesy I asked a waiter of it was ok to come in with dogs he very rudely said as long as they don't make a sound I said well sometimes dogs do bark we looked at each other and said shall we go somewhere else . He then said its OK you can sit over in the corner . We reluctantly went in as my elderly father in law is diabetic and needed to eat . We ordered at the till and the same waiter was rude again . A young man brought our drinks over and just dumped the tray full of drinks onto the table with no words spoken to us . The food came very quickly which was good as the staff kept staring at us so we wanted to get out as soon as possible . The lady who brought our food was quite pleasant . We felt very uncomfortable being stared at by the staff while we were eating . The food wasn't great and we would never go there again or suggest that anyone else does if it were an option I would give no stars at all

Great find as it’s really comfortable place to stop and relax. Perfect gluten free apple pie and cream. We also ordered a panini and cream tea and all food was thoroughly enjoyed. Very pleasant staff. Will definitely return.

If I could give more stars if it would let me. We have stayed here a few times now, this time was different for us as we brought along our 4 month old. Our stay was made perfect as the staff couldn’t of been any more accommodating to us, we can’t wait to come back soon, the food absolutely perfect and our room we had this time is now our new favourite! We thought the room yealm was which is lovely! But we now have a new one. Thank you for making our weekend perfect ❤️

We had dinner here. The pizza was great and the service was super friendly.

Had a carvery here on Sunday, absolutely brilliant! Great food, obviously good quality. I had Turkey & Gammon for £16.50 which was very reasonable. Next time I'll have the Beef as everyone else on the table had beef and it looked absolutely amazing! The staff were really friendly and helpful, the owner was doing the rounds clearly making sure everything was running smoothly - so nice to see! I can't wait to go back.

Fantastic service and atmosphere! The waitress (unfortunately didn’t get her name) was so accommodating and friendly to our large table that wasn’t booked. The food portion size was great but I feel could of had a bit more effort put into it. More vegan options would also be appreciated. Good selection of draught too

Great evening meal. Venison not cheap but worth every penny!

Stopped off on a ride to refuel. Friendly lady with a nice smile. Food was made to order and hot. Coffee was good too 😀

Not a bad little place, ok fish and chips but not amazing. Service was nice and friendly

If you like soup made with corn flour and no taste then this is the place for you.

Deserved 5..... The beers were well kept - shame no local beer. Food was very good. Interesting menu options - goat curry was delicious and lamb moussaka extremely tasty.
