Disappointed they do not take cash!!!!!!

-Indoor baby/toddler play area that is nice with books and other toys -Microwave available to use, crayons, toddler plastic dishes, etc. -Good baby changing facilities and nursing (in the disabled toilet and in the other side near the play area) -High chairs available -Good coffee! (with options such as Picolo, Brew coffee, expresso, etc.) -Some Willies Cacao chocolate on sale (we like it), eggs, milk, etc. -Car park: 90 minutes or 4 hours maximum (to get the 4 hours, register the car in the tablet by the entrance) -Food looked good but we didn't have this time.

Services aren’t normally anything to write home about, but we had a pleasant drop here & sat in the garden. The staff were nice and so was the food.

First time here and I live within 10miles all I can say is WOW £27 for 2 x bacon sausage and egg baps with a latte coffee, can’t have fried eggs as they don’t do them 🙄 but you can have poached or scrambled egg both fairly difficult to have in a bap, won’t be going there again.

Nice location and good tea but I was charged £14 for a tea an orange juice and toast felt this was very over priced and opportunist and they don’t accept cash which is pet hate and I refuse to use their McDonald style ordering system

One of our regular stops on the way back to or from (or both) Cornwall. Food is always delicious, staff are always friendly, there's a dog exercise area and dogs are allowed inside, and there's a small kiddies play area inside too. On this visit we accidentally left our son's hoodie behind, and when I rang up 250 miles later (mostly just to confirm where it was so I didn't go insane looking for it) they offered to post it up to us! Definitely going above and beyond. The only thing to watch out for is the parking area (which is probably another company anyway). Most service stations give you 2 hours by default, this one is 90 mins. Combined with the lovely atmosphere, good food, and play area, I've been caught out and received a fine twice now. I _think_ you can extend your stay for no charge in the Hog & Hedge if you're buying something, but you have to remember and actually _do_ that if so...

Like this place, but coffee got ridiculously expensive. Also confusing whether to order on machine or at counter

Lovely friendly efficient place with the most gorgeous quality food. Love this place would recommend to everyone. Dogs are also welcome.❤️

Great stop off the A30 with good food and lovely staff. Dog friendly too, I saw one of the staff looking after a dog while it's owner used the toilet, you don't get that in a big service station

Excellent highway services - independent quality as you might expect

Food ok, I understand. However the menu only gives vegan and vegetarian details - lifestyle choice. I held up the queue to much huffing and tutting from other customers while I went through the options. Eventually settled for a gf option and gave half to my husband.

I don't normally go around reviewing service stations (obviously, I'm not a complete geek), but I just had to leave a review for Hog and Hedge because I have had a couple of positive visits here. The food is lovely and fresh made with local ingredients. The staff are friendly and welcoming. They are truly dog friendly there, providing water, treats and a warm welcome to our 4 legged family members. I cannot fault this place. It's a great stop if you are heading to or from Cornwall

Great stop on route to Cornwall. Scrummy food and snacks, locally made, healthier than your usual fare. Clean, tidy and friendly. Lots of doggie facilities, snacks, water, products.

We popped in for some food on our journey, and people were lovley and food was great.

On the way home from Cornwall to the Midlands, my wife and I wanted to find an independent café where we could have a late breakfast and avoid stopping at Exeter services. The large white sign on the A30 pointed to the Hog and Hedge. We arrived with ten minutes to spare before breakfast ceased to be served at noon. My wife had scrambled egg on toast and I chose a cheese, mushroom and egg sandwich. The scrambled egg was great but the sandwich was disappointing. The bread, which tasted wholesome, was so thick it was difficult to eat so I had to leave some. Why didn’t they serve medium sliced bread? The amount of grated cheese was so small I had difficulty in finding it. I bet it wouldn’t fill a teaspoon. At £8.95 it was disappointing. The premises were inviting with a jolly pig cutout and clouds hanging from the ceiling. The toilets were clean and tidy. Unfortunately, I shall look for an alternative venue in the future.

Love this place. We stop every year on our travels. Proper coffee nice food. Easy to get to and back on the main road

Nice place to stop but everything is very pricey. £4.20 for a cup of coffee that's not much bigger than an espresso cup! Toilets aren't always very clean

Clean, friendly service and good food

For a service station stop off, it was a great welcome. Parking was plentiful, an area that we could walk the dog, don't forget to pick up after your pooch.. signs that people hadn't or had picked up but placed the bag under a bush, or hanging from it ???... why?.. bin it or take it home to dispose of. The humans toilets were excellent, very clean, hot water and paper towels. The soap to wash your hands smelt great too. Coffee and cakes were homemade, tasted very nice. All in all, great stop off on route to Cornwall, definitely use again in the future..

Stopped here whilst on a drive. Would definitely recommend! the staff are very warm and welcoming they are also accommodating to customer needs. The restaurant is lovely and rustic. The food was delicious along with very quick service.

The first time we stopped here on our way to Cornwall, the staff were really lovely. We had a bacon sandwich, beautiful thick, fresh white bread, highly recommended.

Many years have passed since my last good experience here. The last successful visit when they were actually open wasn’t great with poor tasting and expensive coffee. The last few times they’ve been closed at inconsistent times. It’s not easy to drive to from the main road so to arrive and find it’s closed is frustrating. From now on we won’t bother trying.

Stopped here by accident, so glad we did. The place is warm and inviting,the staff are welcoming and so pleasant and the food was lovely and filling. My wife and myself both had the whole hog breakfast, the toast was thick and hot, the sausages are real farmers and the potatoes are nice and crispy, absolutely perfect. We both finished it and sat there afterwards feeling very full and satisfied. Would happily go again and recommend it to other people.

Second time we have been here, and will mostly likely be back. Service is excellent, food is better than adequately average and reasonably priced. Atmosphere is friendly and dogs are welcome which is great for us.

Expensive coffee. £4.70 for a regular sized take away cup. Had better from a Costa and Starbucks machine.

Quick stop off for a takeaway coffee, staff lovely, loos immaculate and coffee brilliant.

This is a lovely restaurant with good food and very friendly staff. we had the full breakfast, and it was beautifully cooked ( perfect poached eggs ) and presented well, with tea coming in a teapot. The main thing for me was the lady who took our order, she was particularly welcoming thankyou

Nice place, the food looks good but £8.60 for two pretty small takeaway coffees which were, to be perfectly honest, not that great is just taking the ££££. Won't be stopping here to grab a coffee again.

This is the PERFECT spot to stop off on the way to Cornwall. It is 5mins from A30 so easily accessible. The food is fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. It is ideal for toddlers with an enclosed indoor play area. The staff are friendly and service excellent. Highly recommend

Not been for months. Fabulous, friendly staff. Great food. Proper coffee. Sausages for our mini dachshund. Great to see customer service back, was not a fan of self serve. The ladies were bubbly and friendly, love good customer service and this place have got it back in spades. Will definitely start putting this place back on our stop off points whilst travelling.

Our preferred stop on the way to Cornwall. This time we left early and stopped at the Hog & Hedge for breakfast, which I could not fault. The Hog & Hedge prides itself in using good local ingredients and it shows. Staff are always friendly and brought the food to the table as it was not very busy. It is always clean. Dogs are welcome and you can take them for a walk straight from the car park.

Quick stop for coffee and comfort break. Word of caution, you need to input your vehicle reg if you're planning a stay over 1.5 hrs as you enter. It didn't apply to us, but only saw the machine as we left?

A lovely, clean coffee shop. All the Staff were friendly and polite. The coffee was perfect and the food was delicious. Hog and Hedge was extremely busy but the service was impeccable. Well done to all the Staff.

This motorway / Travelodge services puts all others to shame. Fabulous service & great food. Limited menu, but when it is done so well, it doesn’t matter.

Highly recommend H and H, the bacon sandwiches were delicious and served on hearty bread. High quality ingredients and condiments. Pretty setting and gardens. Didn't feel like you were at any old services!!

A brilliant alternative to a service station. Nice food, plenty of seating. Great changing spot of you have a baby - nicely laid out.

Beautiful place to stop over. Play area for little ones too which is a godsend for parents of toddlers on car journeys. Food is exquisite, amazing pulled port and roasted potatoes.

The food is cooked to order and comes from locally sourced farms. The quality is of a very high standard and a lot of effort is put into the whole customer experience. I cannot wait to go again

Looks like a great place. I just used the facilities, which were very clean.

As you can see, from the pics, I spent a lot of time here. I had 2 breakfasts, one brunch, one dinner. The food is of good quality. The atmosphere is nice. Big and spacious and tidy. There's also a small area for additional shopping of local items. I had the potato and leek soup with bread. Both were yummy. Loved that focaccia bread. I also enjoyed the cheese and caramelized onion toastie. Quite simple and filling. Really good quality granary bread. Had one full English breakfast, was good. And a breakfast sandwich on another day. The staff is friendly and courteous. Service is excellent.

What a find! You don’t expect this quality and service from a motorway services. The best quality good, absolutely delicious. Well presented, lovely staff and environment. A real treat! Let’s hope more can follow!

Really good food, a hidden little gem!

We stopped off to use the toilet and ended getting some food for the kids . The food was a little bit pricey but all delicious food .

Avoid all service stations on the M5 after Bristol for this little charmer with its plentiful cake options! HOWEVER, can get very crowded in the summer and closes at 1700 on weekdays, even earlier in the winter months.

Little service stop. The inside of the building and facilities were great. The car park was a bit of a nightmare. On arrival a large lorry delivering something was blocking the one way system in thr car park causing a blockage. There was no warning of this until cars were already a bit stuck. Once this sorted itself out it was fine.

Staying nearby and went here for Sunday lunch. Our little dog was welcome and the server brought her a biscuit. The self-service station was easy to navigate. We all chose pulled pork toasties and they were yummy. Coffee was really good, so much smoother than Costa.
