Stopped off on a ride to refuel. Friendly lady with a nice smile. Food was made to order and hot. Coffee was good too 😀

Very popular café, takeaway coffee and cake for us, nice big cups and a tasty carrot cake. Sat nearby along the river. Lots of different cakes, sweets and ice creams available.

Really lovely little outlet. The lady serving was so sweet. Although they don't list milkshakes she made my 13 year old son one anyway. My cappuccino was lovely and hot and my 18 month old granddaughter is loving her strawberries and cream ice cream. Very fairly priced, will definitely return

Went today with my lactose intolerant daughter, it was really good to see more than one flavour of dairy free ice and they were delicious! My daughter had the chocolate with blue millions and as an added bonus and extra cone as the first one broke and I had the St Clements sorbet which was delicious! Had a lovely chat with the owner and felt like she genuinely took an interest in us. Highly recommended and will definitely go again

DISAPPOINTED 😞 VERY poor standard of food. £1.50 for barely any cheese on chips. Toasties was cold and not even toasted with little to none filling. never going again plus the wait for our order was ridiculous especially as other people had to have there food re done as they complained. DO NOT GO

The owner is an absolutely amazing lady, she has all the time in the world for her customers, whilst also serving you quickly. The food, which we have sampled probably everything now, is scrumpy and cooked to perfection, the food and drinks are very reasonably priced. There's a lovely seating area beside the river. It would ve great to see other food vendors take on her care for the community, for those who are need of a lunch and drink, the Pay Forward scheme is great, which I always do , meaning there's food and a drink for those who need it, great idea 👏 👏 👏

Great range of options. I have a dairy allergy so often have issues if I want to have an ice cream with my family. I had at least 3 options which was great. Reasonably priced and the staff were so friendly. Thank you. 😊

Great range, especially for a small place. Didn't have to wait long for our tasty hot food and the staff were super friendly and professional.

An attractive setting and a cleanly presented coffee/sandwich shack. But the service is terribly slow and the coffee is positively anemic. If you can’t get a cup of black coffee right, what hope is there?

Fantastic service and food, it was Mothers Day and the young lady was on her own, she was working incredibly hard and efficiently, she was polite and happy, she gave us our food and drinks and was top class. Thank you.

Oh my goodness totally awfull , both me and my husband missed our breakfast as we had to be at an event in the meadow very early so we waited until gone 11am to order a bacon and sausage sandwich from this place .... never again when it came there was 1 slice of bacon and 1 sausage between 2 slices of bread and 1 of the slices was the crust !!! So I did go and complain and the young girl redone the sandwich with the same amount again !! And also managed to totally cremate the meat !!! Awful place !!!

Not impressed with the poor attitude of one of the staff members. Visited yesterday with my 4 year old and asked “does your ice cream have egg in it? My daughter has a life threatening allergy to it so I need to find out”. The male server shrugged and said “I don’t think so”. Then proceeded to just stand leaning against the counter. I asked “could you check then please?”. A lady (who I’m assuming is the manager/owner) came over and asked what was wrong and I repeated the above. She then checked the list and said “yes they all do contain egg in apart from the sorbet”. I’m just glad I didn’t take this man’s word for it as my daughter would have gone into anaphylactic shock and ended up in hospital 😡

An an awesome part of Tavistock meadows. They have a great menu and with plenty of options for vegans too. My 6 year old was beyond thrilled with her ice-cream sundae!

A great little cabin, chips, ice creams, coffee, tea and cold drinks. Been going here since I was a child and taken my son and now my grandchildren. It even has seats outside and sells sweeties and duck food too!

Very long wait as the 1 person serving seemed to be unable to do more than 1 thing at a time. When I did reach the front of the queue they didn’t have what I asked for, and my second was also not available - despite both being shown on the displayed menu…annoying but more so given the apparent uncaring attitude of the person serving. It would have been much quicker (& I would have received what I requested) if I’d gone into the pannier market (5 mins walk). EDIT/UPDATE - in view of a prompt apology to this review by the owner I have increased it to 3* & will be happy to try it again. I think the fact that I’d cycled from Plymouth & waited for ages in the cold did not help my mindset at the time. The account of my experience remains the same though. (Thank you for offering the voucher, it won’t be necessary) but I will be back, previous experience here has been favourable 👍

Waited 30 mins for 3 toasties. Food was awful quality. Brie and cranberry toastie was more like jam on toast. Kept being told we were next but we still waited ages.

Trudy Scrumptious is a great place to grab a cuppa or a spot of lunch. We all enjoyed a toasted sandwich and I can personally recommend the hot chocolate. I was impressed that there were also options for dairy free and vegan choices. The home made ice cream was a hit, staff were friendly and it is situated in a lovely location by the river with a lovely playground for children to play. Highly recommended.

We had lunch there during our visit to Tavistock, its a lovely place, new, modern design, very nice service with smiling girls selling delicious stuff. There were 5 of us so we had very good insight into menu: teasty coffe and tea, toasties were full of filling and amazing , home made ice cream: my coconut ice cream was very.... coconutty :-) Prices are reasonable and affordable... to summarise: nice place, great food and useful staff ,highly recomended! -Max and the gang!

Wrote this up a long time ago but the review seems to have evaporated. No worry because it goes from strength to strength, is perfectly placed, has an original but simple take on ice cream and hot/cold drinks, no tat, no junk silly food, fun for the kids while the grown ups luxuriate in all the flavours. Not far from the water but away from the hectic bustle of the main streets. This place can but busy too but with happy easy going punters. Wish we had one of these in our local park. Don’t confuse or connect with the ex-pub scrumptious named place by the main road in Mary Tavy, which is a very different kettle of fish.

Trudy's homemade lemon meringue ice cream, beautifully served by friendly staff, conjured up memories from 60 years ago. The difference now is that my 'gluten & dairy-free' friend could enjoy a tub of vegan coconut, which she described as "out of this world". My plan is to visit the cabin regularly during the summer, and work my way through the outstanding menu!

Surprised to find this was a wooden shack & not open despite stating on the board outside that it is open daily (our visit was on a Thursday). However, my main complaint is the name of it as there is a business in Mary Tavy called 'Cafe Scrumptious' that truly loves up to its name!

This small. but perfectly formed, cabin in the park serves the most delicious range of homemade ice creams and treats. I was initially encouraged by the steady stream of customers making comments such as 'to die for' and 'scrummy'. I was certainly not disappointed when I tucked into my jam doughnut ice cream! I cannot wait to return for a Lemon Posset flavoured treat.

Seriously homemade, actually by Trudy. Expect flavours like Banoffee, Jaffa Cake, Popcorn and Jam Doughnut. Also good coffee, sandwiches, muffins, panini... This must be where the Fabulous Five got their picnics.

Unfortunately this restaurant did not live up to expectation. It was very local to us but unfortunate ly we were not tempted to return there. The establishment has now closed and become a private residence.

Came in Sunday 23/02/2020 And ordered a latte and hot choc, was very quite so expected quick service. A gent came in a few minutes after and ordered a white coffee and bacon roll after us! It looked as if she started making the drinks and doing the bacon roll...we waited a while to then see she made the gent who came after us his bacon roll and coffee before ours, we questioned it but shook it off. The lady then came over with my latte then told us there was no more hot chocolate...so we ordered a tea cake (same price £2.50) to save on the hassle... She then made and brought over the tea cake, and we looked up and hot chocolate powder was on the shelf behind her, we had a giggle at her poor look. She must of noticed because she gave them a shake and left the tubs on the shelf meaning it contained hot choc 😂

Brilliant pub in the middle of Dartmoor. Very friendly manager who greeted us on arrival. Superb food and a pleasant/Quiet and friendly atmosphere. Dog friendly too. We stayed in a nearby hotel but the food there wasn't to our liking (bit too posh). We were SO glad we found this lovely place and ate here. The food was homely, delicious and generously portioned. Plenty of board games etc to play also which we enjoyed.
