Went here as a family, luckily we had no young children because where the snooker table is, there was a large group of drinkers some of whom were very loud and constantly using foul language. I’m not a kill joy but do feel that the snooker table is in completely the wrong place and spoils the nice relaxed atmosphere for a nice evening meal. I think the staff should have stepped in to stop the language. Would not make me want to return.

Pleasant midweek lunch enjoyed here…reasonable choice of pub grub from bar menu; good food; sensible pricing & welcoming/good service from the outset. Adequate choice of drinks for our needs too. Would recommend & happily return if ever in the area.

We stayed here and the room was quaint as was the hotel but the food let it down badly I’m afraid. The breakfast was ok but everything else was not good. I think people would rather oay more and have good food especially as there’s nowhere else to eat .. I would go back to Clovelly but stay somewhere else

My daughter and I booked dinner at The Olive Tree Restaurant in The Durrant House Hotel in Bideford. When we arrived the restaurant was very busy and our table was in the bar instead, which suited us both better to be honest. We were served by John-Paul for the whole time we were there and he was so friendly and helpful and we cannot speak highly enough about him. Nothing was too much trouble and he kept us informed about each course while we were there. We both ate from the Specials Menu which was dinner and dessert for £14.50. Our roast dinners were delicious and so were our puddings. We had a great time and will definitely be booking again very soon.

Went to cafe for late breakfast @ approx 11.45am. Only one person on the till taking orders who was very polite and pleasant but very slow and was sorting out the drinks machines as well as one wasn’t working properly and the others needed refilling. Stood for 15 minutes waiting to give my order with only two people in front of me. Only one waitress serving the food to the tables and it was very busy. The food arrived after 35 minutes waiting, the plate was cold and the food was cold to lukewarm, and their idea of toast was showing the bread to the toaster. Would have complained but it was getting chaotic at the til and drinks machines. Would have liked another coffee but couldn’t face standing in a queue again.

Had two takeaway's now from Everest, both really tasty, one of the best we've had.

Booked a table for 4 for the Sunday Carvery to celebrate a birthday. Good selection of meats available with tasty vegetables, yorkshires and pigs in blankets. The dessert choice was excellent. I can personally recommend the profiteroles whilst the waffle, cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding were also much appreciated. Altogether a most enjoyable meal served by the friendly, helpful and attentive staff. I will definitely visit the West Country Inn again.

Helpful friendly staff; in fact they went out of there way to help families with very small toddlers. Food sandwiches and chips] were super and arrived extremely quickly; chips red hot and tasty. Delightful cafe and well sited! Highly recommend.

We ate here a few months ago and it was ok not really inspiring, we re-visited last week and were very impressed, there was menu with plenty of choice and also a set menu for £20 for 3 courses, we ate of this and it was brilliant, lovely dishes, presented very nicely and the service was much improved also.

Unfortunately, our visit to The Harbour in Clovelly didn’t live up to expectations. The garlic chili gambas was underwhelming—swimming in oil and lacking in real depth of flavour. The pepperoni pizza was definitely from frozen. The food was served in takeaway containers with wooden cutlery that struggled to do the job, which really took away from the overall experience. While the quay view is undeniably lovely, it seems that’s what you’re mainly paying for. A disappointing stop in an otherwise charming village.

I enjoy cooking Chinese food but treated myself to a take away. It was edible but nothing to go back for? We had house special rice - house special chow mein some Sweet and sour prawn balls and two panckake rolls. The sauce came in a tiny pot and was weak? The pancake rolls were small at 2.80 each! They don't even give gesture of a few prawn crackers with orders of approx £25. I'll be sticking to my own wok from now on : tip lucky boat noodles sold on line, sesame oil, nut oil, shoaxing rice wine, msg for extra umami flavour, light soy dark soy, goldfish curry sauce concentrate and lee kum kee sweet and sour sauce. For chow mein - lucky boat noodles - boil 6 mins let stand hot water 4 mins rinse and drain very well - fry onion in wok with small oil amount add noodles add cup of bean sprouts, splash dark soy to colour, splash light soy, splash rice wine capful at most, splash sesame oil, sprinkle of msg half teaspoon - stir fry few mins - Add cooked meat of choice like pre poached chicken. Good luck !!

Does not serve food. Seemed to be filled with local down and outs, drunks in the afternoon. Our dog was attacked by another dog, whose owner had no care in the world (not on a lead or harness) and drinking cider they had purchased from a shop. Felt very uneasy being there, not advise going there leave it for the locals! Left our drinks and walked out
