Fantastic food great pub lovely accommodation Had breakfast today 15 April best breakfast of the year so far

Our party of five had the most incredible Sunday lunch here today. The food was hot, fresh, plentiful and incredible value for money. a fantastic selection of vegetables served family style, and staff that were super attentive getting extra gravy and sauces. One of our party is gluten free but didn’t miss out on stuffing and Yorkshire puddings. I highly recommend it. A true hidden gem.

Called in on the off chance, booked a table for a Sunday roast. The food was delicious, very generous portions, nice friendly service, would certainly recommend, to anyone visiting the area.

Sunday Roast….My Husband had all three meats and was impressed by the whole meal. The portions were generous and delicious. I had the Veggie Wellington and that was lovely. The side vegetables were plentiful, varied and fresh. Cannot comment on the dessert as we were too full to try them! The service from the Barman and Mia was friendly and efficient. See you soon!

We've eaten twice this week and the food and service was first class especially the way everyone went out of there way to help my disabled brother to get in and out of the pub much appreciated 👍

This is my favourite pub in westward ho! I have never been made to feel so welcome. All the staff are so friendly, and the atmosphere is awesome. I highly recommend this pub!

Visited on a Friday night after arriving in Westward Ho - we had booked. Place was busy and the drinkers were overflowing into the restaurant area which made the place a little noisy. food was good and plentiful and the beer was v good as well

We accessed the Inn from the rear car park up a slope as one of our group has a extra large powered wheelchair, the lovely people were so very friendly and sited a ramp into the back of the building, this is a family run business, we were seated in the back room at a lovely big round table.. the service was excellent, the food very decent, what a lovely dinner.

We had a nice lunch here. It's a little tricky to access via the rear car park if using a mobility scooter, but it is possible.

This is a pleasant, cosy inn, overlooking the mighty billows at Westward Ho!, but just far enough from the hustle and bustle down at the seafront. I had a nice luncheon of faggots here, which were served in generous portions with a jug of gravy. As my partner and I were in no hurry, we sat around for an hour or two, during which time we had several ales and glasses of wine. It being a weekday, the place was quiet and relaxing. I can certainly recommend it.

I can certainly recommend it, 8 different vegetables, very tender meats and roast potatoes that were out of this world.

A Tuesday evening treat. Well cooked, very tasty, great atmosphere and friendly staff. This is a great establishment.

Arrived to a very warm welcome from the staff that made us feel extremely valued as customers, this was backed up by prompt service. We felt so at ease that we decided to have something to eat, looking through a good and varied menu we both chose to have the burger. The food was quickly served and what a plate full of perfection. Generous portions and the onion rings are massive!! Will definitely return ! Rob Nat and team are doing a great job delivering excellent food and service in a friendly atmosphere. Well done all !!

Just reopened, under new management. It's all nice and clean. In a great location not far from the sea front. Nice beer and wine. A good bar for the locals to hang out.Nice place to play pool.

Went back again for Mon-Sat Dinner Menu and again food was great generous portions served by friendly staff pudding good 2! Went for Sunday lunch couple of weeks ago with friends, great service and the roast dinner was great,big portions and actually enough and variety of veg for the whole table,will definitely be back,and would highly recommend, not just for Sunday roast. There main meals are great too.

Brilliant place. Loved it the service was brilliant waiters/bar staff and kitchen staff were really lovely. I had scampi and it was something else!! Absolutely delicious. Visited this place twice once just for a drink and then again for food after reviewing the menu on our first visit. There's a ramp for push chairs or wheelchairs however there are small steps to enter the pub. There is outside seating though for when the weather is nice.

We popped into this gorgeous village pub whilst we are celebrating our 30th anniversary and what a welcome xx we had cake and drinks with the locals xx Zoe is just so lovely, Al and Jade couldn’t make us more welcome and felt at home xxx can’t recommend this lovely place enough xxx

The food was awful, I know complainers. Actually the opposite, we don't, but we had to this time. My advice do not go. Find some place else. I just wish we had taken photos or a video.

I went here for Father’s Day & received the worst Sunday dinner i have ever had. Potatoes were like rocks the vegetables were frozen I also had a hair on my dinner. Will never visit again.

After hearing some positive reviews about this place, we decided to have a meal here tonight. Service not great, waited just over an hour for our food (after being told there would be around a half hour wait). The penang curry wasn't good!! No apology given, just offered a free desert...didn't accept as just wanted to leave. Won't be going back.

Have eaten here twice this week, amazing Sunday dinner, which included 8 - - yes 8 fresh vegetables!!. Mid week meal - very good selection. Would highly recommend. Recently taken over by new management, I wish them every success!

A proper pub with a decent selection of ales and good honest pub food. Friendly staff and pre Theresa May prices. It's not along the front but worth an extra two minutes walk. I'd happily go back next time I'm in the area

Brilliant food, especially the dessert and the loveliest waitress. She found us a table even though we were sopping wet, went above and beyond to make us comfortable.

Lovely staff and lovely food - This pub is a hidden goldmine - we are currently staying at WWH on holiday and have visited twice already this week... we visited on Sunday and were blown away by the lovely Sunday Dinner they served - have visited this evening and had the Fajitas the portion size and the taste was beautiful and highly recommend! My Dad and Partner also had the Rhubarb crumble which may I add was home made and was out of this world - Stuck on somewhere to go out for food?? I highly recommend this place you won't be disappointed. Unfortunately our holiday is coming to an end but we have already booked a table for our next holiday in September. Keep up the fab work guys and the stunning meals you are serving!! 💜 see you in September 💜

Fine, an average pub, not particularly cozy but decent beers and staff were fine.

Would just like to thank Rob and Nat for hosting the annual Bideford RFC clubman dinner. The food was exceptional and the staff superb. Not an easy task when hosting a group of over 20 with age ranges of 40 to 80. Hope the singing didn’t put off the regulars. I think a few members of the group were surprised this hidden gem is right on their door step and you will get some repeat business

Absolutely top quality - from arrival to departure - Sunday dinner was all homemade - hot - plentiful - spare jug of gravy - outstanding and very reasonably priced! Staff were so friendly and accommodating and our waitress was a credit to the pub! The whole place is super clean and beautifully decorated. Coming back down with family in six weeks and will definitely be booking Sunday dinner ands meal in the week! Can’t recommend highly enough!!

Booked for Sunday roast. Wonderful food. A variety of veg and plenty of it and lashings of gravy. Puds were good too, but would be good to offer custard as crumble goes so well with it. The young lady who was looking after us was attentive and friendly. Will be back as best Sunday roast we've had in a long time and at a good price. Thank you ⭐️

We enjoyed a very friendly welcome on our arrival at The Village Inn pub. The choice of beers was great, I especially enjoyed the Guinness. We chose our food from a good and diverse menu with very reasonable prices. The food was delicious. We can recommend the chicken fajitas, Penang curry and the chicken burger. All freshly cooked and well presented. Highly recommended ! We’ll be back soon. The current, relatively new owners are doing a fine job of restoring this pub back to where it should be with great food and drink supplied with excellent and friendly service.

The Village Inn Pub has been recently renovated to a high standard with a modern steam punk style decor and trendy bar area. Bar staff are welcoming & friendly and the service top notch. Food was excellent, we can recommend the fajitas, Panang Curry and the Chicken Burger & fries and all at affordable prices. The pub hosts Music events on Friday & Saturday nights. Rob & Nat are always happy to chat to customers and have created a great social hub for the local community. Thank you :0)

Lovely pub got new owners from last time we were there in 2023, very friendly locals as well. Will deffo go back in November. Dog friendly as well.

Family meal while having a weekend break. We had the Steak which was beautifully cooked, the faggots, fish & chips and nachos. Each meal was well cooked delicious and we will definately be visiting again. The bar staff were friendly, atmosphere great and a lovely boozer to boot. Well worth a visit.

Lovely local pub that’s really friendly to out of towners. Had the best food of this trip to Westward Ho. Chicken Curry was homemade and delish. My wife’s prawn fajitas were massive and really lovely - fresh lime and a nice kick of spice. All power to the new owners - a great addition to the area.

We came for Sunday lunch - the food was really good apart from the sprouts and carrots which were undercooked. They don’t trim the base or take the tough leaves off the sprouts which makes them really tough/inedible. The meat portions were delicious and huge! Great to have some massive roasties and all the trimmings. It did seem really unorganised today - I’m not sure if the boy running the bar was new or if they were short staffed or perhaps this is the first time they’ve ran lunch service? But with only 3 tables to serve, the young lady serving was very good even though it was her first day. She was very sweet. Deserts were also lovely. It’s the loitering locals who ruin the pub, hanging around at the bar, they don’t move to let you get through to the toilets nor do they allow you to approach the bar. Two separate locals enquired if we were local because they hadn’t seen us there before, when actually we have been before with the previous owners— I found annoying and intrusive. Surely it doesn’t matter if we’re local or not? (We are, born and bread!) I would like it if the owners had a chat with their bread and butter regulars and told them to be more friendly and inviting, to allow customers to feel welcome in the pub. I would also like to see some more organisation / staff with regards to where you’re allocated to sit because no one seemed to know and we had to wait 15 mins to sit down even though it was empty. It may be because they’re new to doing lunch, or have a new bar man (tall boy with brown curly hair) he was polite and said he wouldn’t be long but then served people coming up to the bar before us. It was just abit all over the place. I overheard a lady asking for a baby change and they don’t have one which seems crazy, I can’t bring my grandchildren here until they have one as they’re babies. The old owners had a small play area with Lego and cars which is brilliant for kids - I’d like to see this reintroduced. I would visit again because the food was so good and the prices were reasonable too. However I hope the owners read this and make the changes they need to make it more welcoming.

Stopped in for a roast here last Sunday while out on a walk. The new owners and staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful and the pub is very dog friendly (treats on the bar as a welcome). The bar itself is clean and fresh looking and love the steam punk theme decor throughout giving the place as clean and fun vibe. Up and coming events advertised as you walk in with lots appearing to be going on. Food was fantastic with very generous portions and plates were nice and hot. Lots of meat on the plate and tonnes of veg offered aswell. Very reasonably priced, great value for money. Would highly recommend. Can’t wait to come back and try the evening menu and sample some of the live music. 10 out of 10 great job guys

Tried to book before but was fully booked but today was our lucky day. Never been before but heard the Roast was good. It was excellent, plenty of meat we were offered a selection of 3 different meats, also told we could have more than one meat. We had beef and Turkey. Beautifully presented - 3 large Roast .potatoes with gravy and the meat neatly laid over the potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding filled with stuffing placed on the top. Veg selection -Veg not over cooked at all! - cauliflower Cheese, green beans,carrots,red cabbage, swede and honey glazed parsnips. Plates piping hot with a gray boat too, all for £13.95. Deserts - only £5.95 ! Bargain, again beautifully presented with the drizzle of sauce and blueberries, raspberries and a decorative fan strawberry on the side. Just enough after the wonderful Roast. We had 3 dogs with us, they were given a dog treat each on arrival and during our meal , the staff offered the dogs 2 bowls of the meat ends from the kitchen to enjoy. What a great find. Very accommodating, polite Staff Would definitely recommend it.

We have lived in the area for 3 years but never been here before. The place has been revamped with a simple clean decor style and a few steam punk light fitings. Arrived at 14:45 for lunch. Barman checked what was still available . We choose baguettes. They arrived with a portion of tortilla chips and intreguing tasty side salad. Very good value for money - we only needed a boiled egg for supper. Tea served as pot, coffe comes in cafetiere, both good. Very dog friendly and it has a pool table in the room area away from the eating area. Will go back again. Big car park but only 2 min walk from seafront. Will go back again

Nice to find The Village Inn open on a very cold Tuesday in Westward Ho! Hospitable, good service and a very reasonably priced lunch menu, that proved great value. The food was delicious and well presented. Will definitely visit again when next in the area.

The Village Inn, is a great place to socialise, have a few drinks and play pool.

Went in for a drink and decided to book for the Tuesday after new years, the lady took our details including telephone number all good, arrived on the tues and the pub was in darkness no telephone call to say why, no reply to my messages just outright rude surely you know you’re going to be closed so why take the booking? And to not reply! Will definitely not recommend this place

Having read the excellent reviews of the pub and the new owners and not having been in for years, we decided to call in for lunch yesterday. Having got our drinks we asked for the menu. We were asked if we had pre-booked, which we hadn't. There were only a handful of people in the pub.It was just after one o'clock and we were told that they were not intending doing any more cooking!! So we had our drinks and went to our usual pub and were made most welcome, as usual. Sorry but we will not be back.

Noisy don't sit in conservatory if you want to eat in piece

A proper pub, staff are friendly and helpful. There is always a good atmosphere. I have not eaten there, but everyone that I have spoken to who has, highly recommends it.

My regular haunt where l visit often. The new proprietors have brought a breath of fresh air & continue to work hard improving its ambience. The food is lovely & reasonably priced. But overall l love the friendly atmosphere that they as a family & the locals bring. Very welcoming thank you.

Haven't been here for a while, decided to go for a meal. I had nachos my husband had faggots, both meals delicious. Also had a pudding, lovely attention to detail, both desserts served with fresh raspberries, a strawberry and a cape gooseberry.

Called in for a pint after avoiding the place for a few years to see if it had improved, had a great atmosphere, very friendly staff and customers a complete change from a couple of years ago. Decided that we should try a meal here and was very impressed with the quality of food, how well presented it was and how well cooked everything was, obviously a good chef, hope they hold on to him. The visit was so impressive we decided to call in again on the Sunday for a drink before going to a carvery at one of the competitors, ordered drinks sat down and saw the Sunday roasts they were serving to other customers so ended up going straight back to the bar to order four Sunday roasts and we weren't disappointed. Glad to see this pub has now got the owners and staff it deserves and hope it carries on to become the place to go in Westward ho!

Since reopening under new management the village inn has become a gem of a local, friendly, cosy, lots of drink choice, regular entertainment and the food is amazing. Fantastic pub

Had a meal with my wife and another couple. They thoroughly enjoyed their meal although I wasn't so fortunate. My cod was very oily and not very tasty which made it also over priced for what it was. I found the area quite noisy albeit I do suffer hearing issues. The staff and landlord were very polite and helpful. They also welcome dogs.

Under new management for just over 2 months the Village Inn owners and staff are making every effort to make this tradional pub into a welcoming eatery with a good a selection of drinks and tasty food. Give them a chance to impress as we found them.

Went to the village in today and I must say very good meal excellent value for money and really friendly service they even went out there way to provide my husband with his steak, which wasn't on the lunch time menue well done to you all will definitely be back soon highly recommend

Under new ownership. We had chicken fajitas and a succulent gammon steak. Our server was Chris and we couldn’t fault him! Serving three real ales, what more could you ask! Come and try!

Since my last review (see below), there has been a change of ownership and the difference is incredible. Warm welcome by the new landlord and his son. Good atmosphere and definitely not a trace of the ‘locals only’ vibe. Great stuff!! — Old Review Below — Drank here on occasion since 2008 but tonight we made the mistake of turning up 30 minutes before closing time to be be told ‘we’re closed’ If the closing time stated on Google is wrong, change it. Maybe it’s just that our faces weren’t local enough? Lesson learnt.

Had a Fab Sunday Roast with Friends today. Great value and as many "Trimmings" as you desired. Followed by wonderful puddings. No photos unfortunately as we were all too hungry and wanted to get stuck in.

We visited the Village Inn yesterday evening and had a delicious dinner. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. We didn't stay for all the music but it was very good and there was a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.
