Brewers Fayre Bideford in Torridge

2nd time I have ate in this place whilst staying at Premier Inn and bar closes at 930pm despite saying 11pm on website and didn’t even hear last orders called out - will stay elsewhere when next down

Excellent breakfast, such good value for the money and other deals going on. Nice and friendly staff great start to the day.

Went for a Sunday carvery with the family, excellent food and drink all for under £50

I have autism, and we had an anxiety dog with us. We got introduce to Tanya, who took us to our table and then khloe served us and Simon Help us with our questions staff were lovely friendly and helpful and went the extra mile

Very poor service and extremely miserable waitress from start to finish and we're local definitely won't bother going back again and I don't expect a response either 😔

Typical pub chain, standard fare, free refills on soft drinks and coffee. Comfortable, views- there aren't any. Toilets clean and tidy.

Worst restaurant experience in a long time !!! Im not going to go into details of the complaint here due to it’s severity but i am now in contact with environmental health (allergy issues) and the operators of brewers whitbread ceo. Very serious complaints over Two male members of staff , one being the male bar tender and the other being the shift manager .

Went to have breakfast this morning to be told that it wasn’t possible, before I even turned up the app was saying they had availability. Rude isn’t the word. You are in the food industry, busy shouldn’t be a word in your vocabulary……….. WILL NOT BE USING AGAIN………

Let us sneak in despite being fully booked. Great guy on front of house (sat 21st september), super helpful and understanding of our needs, having a little one and needing a quick bite. Recommend. Book early as often fully booked!

Value for money breakfasts and meals

Two meals out of three, excellent. One meal, smothered chicken was over cooked and a little tough. However, on the whole a nice place with good staff, and nice atmosphere.

We turned up for breakfast to be told no spaces even though it was 20% full, looked online at the door to book and said I could book a table now, showed the member of staff and she still said no come back in half hour. Went outside and booked the next time slot in 15 minutes time and went back in and was shown to table. Breakfast was ok but service off the one member of staff not ok.

The mixed salad with extras (chicken breast) and jacket potato was excellent value. Server was Dillon who was very attentive. All round good value and service

Have gone to this pub before, and had an all round experience, this visit was very good we had a lovely lad called Dillan he was very helpful and as I was having the cocktail deal, he knew his stuff, also so did the rest of the staff there. The menu had a good choice of foods, and when the food came out it was very good.

Went to brewers fayre Bideford it was very quiet but as we had a dog was going to eat outside went in to order and was told they can't serve food outside so it is not dog friendly as they claim if you want to eat staff not helpful at all only brewers fayre I know that you can not eat outside would not even give it 1 star but had to put something

Crap, poor quality food cooked by bad chefs served in a down market scummy soul-less so called pub. Just about as a bad as you can get. Perfectly fits with the Aldi and the council estate being built around it.

Deb , Simon where very helpful on seating us and Tanya was was polite on serving are drinks and food was delicious as well

Excellent quality food and terrific service

Sunday lunch carvery was delicious, the veggie burger and nachos also highly recommended. The manager Ben, was very accommodating, funny and welcoming. Even gave us a doggy bag for our left over meat we didn't finish (for our dogs) will be back!

It took one hour to get your main meal. This is a joke...the restaurant is not even full. Cannot comment on food quality as still waiting for it....

Don't sit on table 23 it is to near the door,, very drafter about from that ok.

Nice friendly great service & food

We had booked ahead but arrived early. Was still shown straight to our table. The restaurant is clean and well laid out. We ordered starters, mains, desserts and drinks for 2 x adults and 5 children and came to just over £70! Food was served quickly. It was delicious and fresh. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely visit again.

Ordered a mixed grill and smothered platter. Both delicious. Initially the steak on the platter was very tough, couldn't cut it! Discretely told the girl at the bar and she changed it promptly.

Lazy waiters who have no charm or customer service skills. Dirty sticky tables.

Couldn't get in as booking system was down the restaurant looked half empty

The restaurant was very busy, so unfortunately our visit was extremely rushed to escape the noisy atmosphere, but the food was extremely good and we will return on a quieter period.

We had pizza and salad. The chicken on both was lovely, tender and well cooked. Staff were a little gruff but it seemed to be an extra busy lunch rush. Food took 40minutes, too long imo and came out immediately when prompted. Not a bad experience, food saved the day

If you've got a dog don't even bother!!!! No food outside and no dogs inside 🙄

IF I could have given zero star I would have. Not expecting anything wonderful from a cheap place .However edible would have been nice .Lasagne very poor there is more beef in a tin of beef ravioli than what was served, and only 1/2 sheet of lasagne the rest was melted cheese .Worst chicken breast I have had .So be warned cheap but not cheerful in any way shape or form .Pay the extra go somewhere nice

The food here is amazing and have had no problems with the condition of the food when it comes out. The service is always great and they will always help if asked

Hi I’ve been staying in Bideford for the last 7 mouths in the premier inn and I have been dining there all the time the food is next to nothing and the staff will do anything for you but there is 1 member of staff with a stinking attitude and his name is David don’t think he should be in this game

The service was ok , my wife’s meal was ok but the vegetarian option was not good, it had been blasted in a microwave, I understand it’s a chain but I have eaten out in others Brewers Fayre but to be honest it was very poor

Went for breakfast buffet,best to book was quite busy,good range of food and drinks,good value for money

Staff were very friendly and when asked a question they answered and delivered a great service and went the extra mile when there was a slight mix up with my son's order of pizza. They served up another one very quickly and without any fuss. Would recommend and will be back

Please add more sauce and ideally a side (e.g. poppadom) to the delicious Katsu curry, for that price it wasn't enough. That's said my family loved their meals (kids 3 course inc. Mac and cheese, and 2 burgers for the boys).

Food was fine - it's nothing special but for the price point, there's not really anything to complain about. The atmosphere can be a bit noisy and there can be families with screaming kids sometimes. My own kids actually commented on how naughty and loud some of the other kids were. This isn't really a reflection on the place though as they can't really control what other people's kids are doing. Service seemed fine, staff were friendly. You have to go up to the bar to order. Also the 25% off advertised on the tables seems to be deliberately delayed so you can't use it on your current sitting.

Good basic pub dinner at Brewers Fayre, Bideford. Had just finished watching the England’s quarter final match on Saturday evening and needed to have a quick good quality pub dinner. Restaurant/pub is vey large and nicely decorated, staff very pleasant and helpful. We all enjoyed our meals.

Very friendly staff and plenty to eat on the carvery. Food was very tasty.

Ordered chicken tikka , was tasty enough but so watered down probably as it was the cheaper lunch deal. Wasn't too impressed this time.

Simply the best steak we have eaten in a very long time. The burger chips were also amazing. Service was excellent, friendly and helpful staff. Everything was clean and tidy. We stayed in the hotel which does meal deals, but we did not use that, would recommend the hotel too.

The food was good quality and portion for money. And the atmosphere was mediocre However the service was top notch. Unbelievably good, it left a grin ear to ear for the kids on the table. Dylan really did make it a good experience in that pub

Dylan was an amazing waiter for me and my family this evening, every time we come here he is always so attentive, always have to have him as our waiter!

Awful, miserable and rude staff, even when you are placing your order at bar. Meant to be a family friendly establishment but felt unwelcome with children, unacceptable comments made towards us by the tall plump bloke.

Never been to a place that serves breakfast to be rudely told they won't serve me breakfast. No "walk in's" apparently. Anyone would think I was a tramp walking in off the street. Find somewhere else to have a breakfast that will gladly take your money and not be rude to you.

We were pleasantly surprised, thought it was going to be like weatherspoons, but it's was far better. Would you defo recommend it for a cheap meal that was cooked really well couldn't find fault.

Over recent times we have not used Brewers Fayre restaurants because of indifferent food and service. We recently holidayed in Devon with friends and through convenience stopped off at the Bideford restaurant. We were greeted by a very friendly young gentleman who on request seated us at a window table. We were all very happy with the excellent service we received from the young gentleman and just as happy with the quality and presentation of the food. If we are in the Bideford area again we would certainly visit again. Thank. Recommended.

Lovely meal here with the family

Lovely roast, plenty of veg to choose from. Nice to have a blue light card discount. My only moan would be the vegetarian option, if you don't like meat, being given something that is suggested as like chicken, defeats the object! Had a nut roast there a few years ago which was lovely. Very friendly staff and service.

Booked a table last minute for my friend and myself. Was greeted straight away and lead to a lovely table. Ordered food and drinks at the bar and was served very quickly by a smiley very efficient and pleasant member of staff. We ordered the 2 for £11.49 meal deal and 2 ciders. Food was delicious and enough to fill us up. Unfortunately no room for puddings. All in all, staff were fab, food great and totally enjoyed our meal. Thankyou.

Whats going on with PI breakfast as this was dire! Man on door was so miserable to the point of being unwelcoming (obviously doesnt enjoy his job). The breakfast ingredients were very basic and bland. There were no decaf tea bags and I was advised by the equally unhappy waitress that PI have stopped doing them and theres no longer any costa coffee either? The juice was watered down concentrate, the fruit salad unedible and we had to keep moving tables due to their being remains of the night before food under them (stale chips, etc). Awful breakfast, awful disinterested staff. Only saving grace was the toast! Go elsewhere for breakfast.

I've improved my rating because its been a long time and I can say I did enjoy my experience. I had a smothered platter which, although lacking in vegetables was a satisfying and hearty meal. Service was good. They asked how I wanted the steak. I'm leaving happy.

Prompter food standard has gone up

Booked this part of a meal deal at Premier Inn. Starter of chicken wings was cold and not cooked properly. Over charged for kids meals. Manager did return with free drinks and refund not before saying F$%^ this in front of my 11 yr old. Breakfast was nice although no orange juice. Wouldn't rush to return

Been here several times now, including Christmas Day, always see happy faces, from both staff and other diners, you can have great food, but if the atmosphere & staff aren't content, then something's not right! I'd recommend Bideford Brewers Fayre, as they've got this sorted, good food and drink, at good prices, served with a smile, keep up the good work guys 👍

No interest in welcoming us. We arrived at 10:20am for breakfast. The lady wasn’t interested in seating us. We were made to feel like a nuisance. She told us that breakfast would be finished in 10 minutes so basically no we couldn’t be seated. And Whitbread wonder why they are having to close so many of their restaurants?! Here’s the reason why. Staff who are uninterested. Terrible service

Great place for a treat breakfast, great selection of food and drinks, nice atmosphere, friendly staff and plenty of parking. I would recommend booking as hotel guests get first shout. Will be back, great service can not wait😀

Me and my husband had a great time at Brewers Fayre. Food was really good especially pork with pineapple and steak. Lovely lady at the bar made fab pinnacolada. I would like to say thank you to Allison who have been working at the front desk, she made us feel welcome , as she was very kind with a nice smile. We'll definitely come back soon.

We had a lovely meal the staff were friendly and efficient especially Dylan who went to great lengths to ensure we enjoyed our visit.

Came to brewers for a lovely family dinner, food was good service was lovely, Great atmosphere, only complaint we have is the bell was constantly being rang, all the staff where busy, we where trying to have a conversation but all you got was the bell.

It was lovely here, we were on a break away in Bideford and struggled to find somewhere to eat that wasn't ridiculously overpriced or difficult to get to. This place was fantastic, great food and drink, the kids enjoyed their food and the payment and whole evening itself was simple and convenient. Wonderful staff, thank you very much.

I start this by saying i have never complained about anywhere like this before but have never felt so disgusted and angry with the interaction my nan, my 2 children and I had with the manager Ben here so had to right this review. I went to book here for 2 adults and 2 children and there was an issue with the website stuck on loading so I then managed to book only for 2 adults. Next to where you book children on the website it says optional and my son wouldn't be eating so didnt think too much of it. We turned up at the restaurant to be greeted by a very miserable man named Ben. He asked the name of the booking and abruptly said how many are there of you. I then replied I had trouble with the booking there is 4 of us my son Is autistic and won't be eating as he only eats a very limited diet. To which he replied well you have only booked for 2 adults and I haven't got a table of 4 only a table of two. The customer behind me also mentioned how the booking was confusing for children. I looked around to see the restaurant half empty and repeated what i had previously said and said il take the table of two and the kids can sit on my lap or I can stand etc. He said don't be soo silly it's bums on seats not who is eating. My 9 year old daughter then said its OK il sit on mummy's lap to which he again replied don't be so silly. He then got continually agitated but actually said I was shouting and being angry with him which I absolutely was not and not once raised my voice I only asked about options. I am aware even with my son not eating that I was one person short on the booking however the attitude, manner and tone of this man was disgusting. He could have simply said I'm really sorry you have booked one person at least short if you come back in so and so time I can seat you then or two of you can eat but unfortunately i cant seat the other two etc but there was no resolution whatsoever offered. I did say you are being really rude and asked if he was the manager because I have never been spoken to like it before. He replied yes so we left. I then went to may car and looked on the website to see if I could book later and I was actually able to book for 2 adults and 2 children for 8 minutes time (bearing in mind he told me his half empty restaurant was full). I then had the confirmation and went back into the restaurant to check, before I had chance to barely say anything this aggressive man said, I have cancelled your booking and don't you ever use your child as a weapon with me your not welcome in this business. He then turned smirked and walked off. I was left dumbfounded and angry that he could say I have used my child as a weapon when I only mentioned his needs because he wasn't eating. The customer relations gentlemen I spoke to on the phone for an hour in a lay by just down the road (as I had to ring immediately) was also astonished and replied with WOW as to how we had been spoken to and couldn't have apologised more on behalf of their business. He was a very pleasant man and totally sympathsied with our anger, frustration and disbelief at how we had been spoken to. He then went on to say that this is not how their business should be represented and assured the complaint would be passed onto the relevant people. After reading previous reviews I see I'm not the only ones to have encountered this totally unprofessional man.

We had a wonderful carvery this Sunday. The staff were very helpful and attentive. We eat here regularly and we always have a very positive dining experience.

We visited after a day at Milky Way & were greeted by friendly & efficient staff who accommodated us earlier than our original booking time. The food was great & the lamb pie on the trio was particularly good & should definitely be made into a full size one on the menu! However the thing that really made our evening was the incredible service we received from Dylan! He was efficient, friendly & was wonderful with our 3 children. Nothing was too much trouble & he really made us feel at ease & looked after. Fantastic member of staff & a credit to the restaurant.

Went Easter Sunday for an evening meal with my sister. It was very busy but we were seated immediately and placed our order at the bar. I live the new wine glasses. The food came out really quickly considering how busy it was. The food has improved immensely over the last year or so and with a discount voucher it is an easy choice of places to eat. The staff were very attentive, especially Dylan who brought our food out. He was friendly and funny too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, it has a wide variety of menu and is a fraction if the price of other restaurants in the area.

Stayed at premier inn next door on Easter Sunday booked table for the evening and had the carvery which was lovely and had just been refreshed once we got there, so that was good now onto the bad, breakfast this morning, staff miserable, went to get coffee and machine wasn't working they just said you will have to use sachets but you could use the hot milk to make a latte!! Myself and alot of others were so disappointed even saw a lady get a Starbucks from across the way. Loads of food running out, juices needed topping up but there seemed just one member of staff others eventually turned up, the quality of food was bad undercooked sausages and bacon, dried up hashbrowns hard fried eggs, scrambled egg was ok after they refilled it up, mushrooms a funny greasy texture and beans definitely warered down, so we left it and asked for a refund the male think the manager flatly refused. So we complained to reception back at hotel and got a refund. When we was checking out the manager in question was at reception and I get the impression we were not the only ones that complained. Usually breakfasts from the premier inns associates are good but unfortunately this one let it down, will return to this premier inn but not brewers fayre in bideford
