Coachhouse in Torridge

We ate here a few months ago and it was ok not really inspiring, we re-visited last week and were very impressed, there was menu with plenty of choice and also a set menu for £20 for 3 courses, we ate of this and it was brilliant, lovely dishes, presented very nicely and the service was much improved also.

We dined here and initially all was well (if a little slow in being served) - the chef had agreed to prepare a simple poached chicken breast with vegetables, and we also ordered fish and chips. We were surprised that diet coke was only available on draught so decided to have water. When the meals came, they seemed OK, but the fish and chips seemed underdone (batter soft and not crispy) and it was on a bed of rather greasy french fries - not chips in the traditional fish and chips sense. Disappointing! When we tried to get the bill, after waiting several minutes for anyone to appear, I went off to the kitchen door to get someone. The bill duly arrived, and again I had to wait several minutes before I had to go and get attention again. When I said I'd pay by credit card, I was told I would need to pay at the bar - strange that they didn't accompany me there if I needed to go there to enter my PIN. I went to the bar and there was no bartender present. Yet again, I had to wait several minutes for someone to appear and even then had to wait behind another person ordering at the bar. Service needs to be improved hugely and meal quality (on my evidence) is very patchy.

Este es el pub/hotel local a donde yo vivo a veces. Nunca me he alojado allí por la noche pero he estado allí para bebidas y piscina muchas veces así como la comida. La comida es muy buena y con precios moderados aunque podrían poner cubiertos en la mesa así como sal/ketchup, etc. En vez de eso nos vimos obligados a conseguir que nuestra propia pero esto es de menor importancia. El pub tiende a haber una falta de cualquier tipo de ambiente y en Blake's Bar hay una mesa de billar y normalmente en entretenimiento habitual como podrías conseguir en Butlins o algo similar. El entretenimiento incluye concursos y carreras de caballos en un ordenador y tenías que supongo que iba a ganar. I, yo estoy en todas estas cosas así que yo y mis amigos sólo ve y jugar al billar y probar e ignorar el entretenimiento.
