Morrisons Supermarket Cafe in Torridge

Counter unattended so had to order on machine. Couldn't figure out how table numbering worked . Come on Morrisons how about some customer service. Sausage overcooked almost black bacon barely cooked. I used to enjoy a Morrisons breakfast when on the road but won't be going there anymore

Much enjoyed my Ultimate Breakfast , all items well cooked and hot. Accompanied by refillable coffee which is agreat improvement as 1 is never enough.

Staff were unhelpful and rude. I asked for a bag while at self checkout, I was told it was not her department and to ring the help bell. Next staff member told me to go and get the bag myself, I was mid checkout. Eventually she begrudgingly got one for me saying " make sure you pay for it".

Average. You can taste how frozen each item is. The sausages were very salty and mushy. Toast was nearly burnt, which to some people is ok but for me, I’d like it slightly lighter. Bacon fat was raw. Overall I would except two fry ups for £12.98 to be slightly better.

I reviewed this cafe very badly a few weeks back & wanted to see if had improved as it used to be an excellent little place to eat. What a disaster it is even worse than last time !. Only one overworked cashier on the till trying to do 3 jobs whilst apologising for the terrible service. Long wait, 40 mins, for food that eventually turned up stone cold.Only on beverage vending machine in operation, no clean cuttlery, no napkins, Complained to manager who said he needed coplaints to make his managers take notice Not very helpful. Will find another supermaket to shop & eat in..

Called here for tea one day when shopping. Two main meals and drinks for £10, a bargain although the lady behind the till said she didn't think the offer was still on. Surely it must have been or it wouldn't have deducted money! Delicious fish pie and meat pie

This was once an excellent little cafe with friendly staff, but it is now a total disaster. Tills unattended, single touch screen ordering machine not user friendly, long queues, no hot chocolate available (@1420 !), large lattes ordered but no large mugs available and no receipt available from machine. One of only 2 drink dispensers out of action & no staff to be seen. Watched many people walk away from the touch screen & counter without ordering and some others who helped them self without paying.

I had the all day veggie breakfast and my husband had the ultimate breakfast. Both excellently cooked and plentiful. Staff pleasant as usual. Good value £7 and £6 respectively. Drinks extra.

Took 3/4 of an hour to get a basic fried breakfast, apparently you cant swap out stuff you dont like you can only have it removed yet pay the same amount unlike other store cafe's. Fried beeakfast came on a tiny plate with toast dumped on top. Where was i meant to butter my toast? Weirdly the extra beans and egg i had came on a seperate plate as they "didn't know what to do with it" i guess that was because the plate was only slightly larger than a sandwich plate. Food was ok, better than asda cafe there was no flat mushroom but that was substituted with 4 normal mushrooms.

Very tasty food and fair sized portions. Staff were lovely, smiling and nothing was too much trouble. I had a jacket spud and the potato was a bit overcooked but the chicken meal my Husband has was impressive. Good value.

One of the worst breakfasts I’ve had overly greasy and when I said I didn’t want the black pudding and could I swap for an egg was curtly told “ we don’t swap items!” Cups were dirty and had to look through the tray to find two clean ones. The milk for hot drinks was a six pint bottle left on the side not refrigerated! Had to ask for napkins as they were not supplied. Staff seemed to hide out the back and only emerge to bring out food. Poor food quality and poor customer service. You can’t even ring the store to express your view of your experience.

My husband and I called into Morrisons today to have lunch. My soup Wass passable, but my husband was very disappointed with his southern fried chicken. Very small portion.. Also no coleslaw. Not very good value for money. Very small plate. Jill Mees

Whist on holiday we stopped off to pick up some shopping and have a bite to eat in the cafe. We ordered fish and chips, and after a very long wait the food arrived and the fish was cremated so badly that you could snap the white flakes. We sent the food back and an hour after entering the cafe the next plate arrived with the tiniest piece of fish imaginable. It must have been a child's portion. By this time we were too hungry to complain. We shall not be returning!

We came here for breakfast service was really good even though they was short staffed. Breakfast was one of the best we've had. Staff happy and friendly. Keep up the good work ladies. Will come here again.

The lady serving us was very cheerful, friendly and helpful. Our food was delicious and there’s a lovely atmosphere here. Well done Morrisons at Biddeford

Been using the cafeteria for the past 12+ years where the service was excellent and at a good price, but since these disastrous lockdowns, the service has deteriorated extensively, the food is not fresh,but it looks like most things are precooked and reheated, just like the battered cod that is then re-fried and then getting to the tables soaked in oil, something that would never happen before, for their fish and chips was the best. At my last visit, they changed to smaller plates, they increased the price fish and chips to £5.95 and got less of everything, the fish was soaked in frying oil and to add insult to injury they were charging 75p for 50-55 baked beans in a shaving soap bowl and the chips in a small tumbler. Today I spoke to friend of mine from Merton who said it looks like they have been taken over by a small private concern, thus all these changes that I'm sure will put-off a lot of people, I for one will not go there anymore. Sorry to all the ladies I got to know

Popped in to get breakfast while our van got picked up by breakdown service. It was a Saturday, clearly busy as most tables had dishes on them. Saw two / three staff members, working very hard and staying positive and friendly considering the busyness. Our breakdown service arrived early and they packed it in to go boxes for me. I was really happy with the food and how nice the staff were.

Delightful staff, great price due to our glorious rulers (help to eat out) scheme. Did not always get order correct but I do not want to be one of those Cretins that moans for the sake of it! In any case you would be a Cretin too knock it at the price!! Good job guys and thankyou.SW

So popped into your cafe not interested in the stupid government scheme as also work.in the trade, yet came into what can only be described as chaos - no social, distancing no controls - queued like everyone else which is expected got to front to order was told sorry stopped breakfast at 12 fair enough - bought coffees and sat down to catch up with family - 10/15 past and the table next to us ask how much longer would their meals be onlt to see you delivering a breakfast?? What these people were behind us in the queue so go and ask what was going on, only to be told by the young girl at the till - it isn't breakfast its a brunch as the meal doesn't have hash browns but chips instead - so in essence a breakfast - when we tried to.order there was no offer of brunch - "sorry we stopped serving breakfast after midday" so she should have said "however we are doing brunch now" a simple sentence and money in your tills - appauling customer service - howevrr the two ladies running food and dealing with demanding customers were doing a great job under demanding circumstances

one word DISGUSTING ! shocking service and food that was beyond edible. ordered via the self serve screen only to be told after waiting for over 10 mins that they had ran out of ploughman's lunches ! had to queue again to reorder. My brunch was a greasy vile mess. So glad not to have to go there again.

Stopped here for breakfast as couldn’t park at Wetherspoons, similar price and just as tasty. I’ve never seen a bap so huge! No vege sausages left but replaced with another item of my choice. Clean and tidy

Second weekend in row where the cafa has stopped severing any food from 2-3.30. Last week technical issues and the same this week. Got there today at 1.50 to be told no food again. If I knew it was every Saturday I would not have gone after work. Given up now. Complained to store manager and he knew nothing about it. The kitchen staff have decided to not cook for an hour and a half.

Came here for a bite to eat after being out for the day ( Here on holiday). There isnt much choice for fsmily dinning in the area so thought we would give this a go. Well what a disaster, they had run out of some of the most basic meals (pizzas and burgers) so kids ordered toasted sandwiches - apparently the cheese tasted funny. I had scampi which was OK appart from the peas tasted like they had been boiled for hours and my poor hubby had a chicken tikka and the rice was inedible - it was just mush, how they could even serve it was beyond me. I complained and recieved a full refund.Unless you have no other option I wouldn't bother.

You get what you expect here. Good, fast service and the food is great for the price. Staff always lovely and chatty and now they’ve updated the cafe the range of cakes and other things is really good.

We had a lovely breakfast here after doing our shopping. Good choice on menu. Also good value for money.

Recently refurbished this cafe is consistently busy. Food is very well priced. The coffee is good although the self service machines are a tad unreliable and you often have to queue. Staff are friendly and helpful

Not bad for a cheapish breakfast nothing special but it dose the job if you're been working and your hungry.

Loads of people that just turned up got their food before us even though we’d been there for about 3 and a half days and the mushrooms were awful they looked like me nans earlobes

A reasonably priced place to eat after shopping. Refurb in the cafe is tastefully done. Cleanleness could be better with the dishwashed cutlery & tables.

Usually use this cafe while shopping but very poor lately. Food not bad but hot water machine often not working. Had breakfast there this morning, no milk sachets had to pour some in a cup,coffee only 2/3 rds of a cup and luke warm, no napkins only kitchen roll. No apple juice? , machine missing. Such a shame as lovely staff getting moaned at all the time by some customers.

The staff are friendly polite and the food is good buy 4 weeks now with no hot boiler so you can't have tea. Today you can't have tea Fanta or sprite because that machine is also faulty. You can't have fish and chips or ham egg and chips because at 12.30 midday they have sold out. This used to be a really good place to eat and do shopping. Not a lot of point come to eat here so possibly not going to shop here. Come on morrisons sort all this out and make it worth a visit again.

My mother has had many day time meals here, joined her recently prior to doing the weekly shop. Basic menu with various choices but quite cheap, accommodating if you want something particular ask at the till. Average size portions but just right for my mum, help yourself to beverages. Not open in the evening.

Visited this cafe a few months ago & waited far too long for the hot food to arrive but thought this may just have been a one-off but alas today after watching loads of people’s food arrive within 5 mins, we again had to wait half an hour. We ordered just a Sausage Sandwich & chips & the chips were not cooked properly, half of them were raw. Won’t be going there again!

If you walk in expecting a reasonably priced meal made out of the cheapest ingredients possible you will not be disappointed. If you walk in expecting a satisfying meal, don't even bother. If you choose to stay good luck not being driven out of your mind by the incessant beeping of the tills

We usually eat here at least once during our holiday as the food is usually consistent throughout all Morrisons stores. We both had cicken tikka and were not disappointed

First visit in many years, after the cafe was re-opened. The staff were very friendly & helpful. I had a small breakfast every day which was freshly prepared & quickly served. An ideal place for a quick break!

Sandwiches and a drink each ... reasonable price.. and quickly served. Perfect from a pre shop snack!

In a nutshell,a great breakfast at a reasonable price.Service was quick.Facilities are good also with comfortable chairs and a food warming station for babies.

This cafe is well placed to be able to eat either before or after your shopping. It's clean, plenty of tables and the menu complete being able to cater for all.

We ate here as family of 11 you have to pre order your meal before you can pay and order drinks there was quite a long wait for food and when it did come one meal was missed the food was Luke warm and it was really not nice tasting would not recommend to eat here for lunch only plus side was kids ate free with each adult meal

Ordered all day breakfasts. Staff very friendly and polite. Restaurant was fairly busy, but food took 45 minutes to arrive. My partner's bacon was rock hard, apart from that, all Ok. Typical Supermarket Cafe

Morrisons Cafe is basic and the food is also basic but perfect for families and people who value their stomachs more than the surroundings. A life-saver at short notice!!

this restaurant has been transformed from an old fashioned bench type seating to lovely bright chairs and tables in pale blue, pale green, pale opeach and it looks so bright and welcoming. Well done Morrisons a joy to have a coffee in

English supermarkets have everything you need in them! My local supermarket when I pop over to see dad and family (from NZ) lots of fresh produce and other selections of food to chose from.

Everything was okay. Waitress was really good. We ordered desert they couldn't get the cream right...we tried ordering clotted cream but first came out with custard took it back second double cream but we felt bad and just ate it but everything else was exceptional!

We ate here on Sunday 5th March 2017. It was lovely food as we prefer Morrisons café to the other supermarket cafes such as ASDA or Sainsbury's as it's good value and the service is always friendly.The food comes out quick and hot unlike the other supermarkets cafes, it's good food for a quick meal and value for money.

Did not realise that Morrisons could give me steamed fish until I asked if they did gluten free. Unfortunately they dont but she said we can do steamed fish. The fish was superb, Beautiful large flakes full of flavour and lovely tartare sauce and slice of lemon, This will be my recommended dish for a long time and such good value at £5.00. My husband had the lamb shank which was so tender it fell off the bone.The gravy did not have enough mint sauce flavour was the only critism and they dont have any sachets of mint sauce, so would be good if they were to either stock sachets or give a small seperate dish of mint sauce.

The cafe is the typical supermarket restaurant with the usual meals on offer at very reasonable prices. It's great as a stop off before or after your shopping. It is also a great place where locals meet for a good natter.

The cafe has a lot to offer adults and kids alike. It has a trolley park while you get some food so no need to haul it about. The food is very good and priced accordingly, free food for kids when parent has a meal. I think it's only in the afternoon and their is an age limit. "Don't hold me to that info" worth checking it out. Have a look the next time you are shopping.

So hungry after shopping in Morrisons that we decided to stay for lunch. We both had fish and chips and were given the offer of a pudding for £1 so we both had apple crumble and icecream. It never changes, the quality is always good is very good white fish flakes (I dont eat the batter so nothing to hide)

we were looking for somewhere to eat and why we was in morrisons we looked at the café it was clean and the menu looked good so we went in there to have something to eat it was great value and the food was excellent staff were nice and friendly too it was so good we went there for meals 8 times over our 2 weeks holiday

They offer great value food. We had their £5 roast dinners on Sunday and the plate was full of lovely edible food, more school dinners than 5 star restaurant but lovely just the same. We also had the £1 pudding offer which was chocolate fudge cake and ice cream....for £1!! ...how do they do it?? It was very busy on the Sunday we went so empty clean tables were a premium but we managed to get one and we would definitely go back.

Well priced menu and tasted very nice. Some of branches have revamped their café's. Much improved. Only complaint is the drinks machine takes too long.

You would have to go a long way to find a breakfast as good as the Morrisons ones. Such good value for money and cannot be faulted

For a supermarket cafe this is one of the best. Food is always fresh and wholesome. The fish and chips would beat a lot of fish and chip shops. Great place to eat with kids prices are low so very good value for money.

Stayed for 1 night in Aug 16 in upper deck room.Room was OK but nothing special.Coffee pod machine in room was nice touch but coffee was undrinkable (cheap and rancid) - considering there is a Starbucks on site this was very poor.Restaurant food mediocre but had an unwelcome visitor - a rat ran past the window outside suggesting they may have rodent issues in the surrounding area.Complimentary prosecco was undrinkable - we tipped it away - waste of time.We will sadly not be returning.

Always eat in the Cafe when we come to Morrisons to shop. Everything we have is very hot and well cooked. Love the Liver and Bacon, and Macaroni Cheese. My husband has fish and chips, ham egg and chips or steak pie and for dessert we both have the apple crumble with custard for £1, what could be better

Never disappointed yet with the choice of meals. Not tip top but very tasty and suitable when needing a meal for different reasons. It is only a supermarket cafe but one of the best for serving meals

Friendly staff, quick service & their usual good breakfast. It is great to find consistency in their breakfasts wherever you go in the country.

We were able to have a good parking space and the food was very good for the money. There was also good access for wheel chair users.

Never thought to rate a supermarket cafe, but the meals are actually great, filling, hot and cheap, it's not somewhere you would go for an evening out obviously but if you need to feed the kids or grandkids, they do a great range

morrisons is a store local for the visitors that come here year after year prices are good the staff and managmentare very helpful i highly recomend it gerry the floor manager makes you very welcome he he hes time for everybody

Well! I like it. the staff are friendly ready for a laugh. But yes there are times when the tills are not always manned, but it may not be the managers fault. We often visit the cafe for a morning hot chocolate plus cake..YUM. always clean and very popular, often seeing friends there.Sometimes we will have a tea/supper. Himself loves the sausages, me the lasagne.....(move over Garfield), with a choice of salad or garlic bread. Good price.too.

This is a typical Morrisons re quality . The staff are always helpful and in the main polite and professional. However the only ongoing issue we have is that the tills are never fully manned resulting in time being wasted at the checkouts ! So very frustrating ! The management could learn a lot from the Tesco at east the water !

Clean cafe local staff and value food. Morrisons do it slightly better than the others and it shows . The staff looked alert and happy nice atmosphere

Me and a couple of friends were out for the day and we decided we would go to Morrisons for lunch. The service was very quick but we couldn't find a table for more than 4 so we need up sitting separately. The bacon bap I had was full of fat and was very greasy and the gingerbread man was very hard. Overall it all tasted okay but be careful what you order.

This is a no frills eatery where you get hearty portions of hot freshly cooked food. Ideal if you need to shop at lunchtime or breakfast. It is reasonably priced and clean.

Morrisons offer free kids meals during school weeks when an adult has a meal. The food is what you would expect from a café. The have snacks, cakes, sandwiches and main meals along with a variety of drinks.

This poor meal I received thisafternoon.. they couldn't even get my order right asked for Bacon came with no Bacon asked for cheese came with no cheese asked for chips by the looks they must of been running out...

Cant go wrong here we needed a quick meal so popped into the café. Such good value as it was only £9 (kids eat free with any paying adult). Service was good and food arrived quickly. Thanks Morrisons.

I've taken my children here a few times and the food is always spot on. Although I usually order the same thing lol! The staff are friendly and accomodating but there is usually quite que and we have had to wait quite a while for the food. Which with young children can be quite stressful. With the kids meals they bring out a little activity pack with crayons with the food which is usually a nightmare because my children want to open them when their dinner has just arrived. I think it would be better if they gave you the packs at the till so they could do them while they wait. But all in all good food for good price.

Fish and chips freshly cooked and very good, easily accessed right in Bideford, easy parking and shopping as usual

Myself and husband went here to get a few bits and stopped in the cafe as I needed to feed our daughter.. My husband had fish & chips off the menu! Well I don't think it was possible to get any more grease on that plate! NEVER AGAIN!I needed to change our daughters nappy so went and used there baby changing facilities.. The whole room was absolutley filthy there was tissue all over the side/floor and chair.. I had to use a wet wipe to clean down where my baby was going to lie down, luckily I had a disposable changing mat which I put down, otherwise I would have done it inside my car! The sink was blocked and had stagnant water inside... Not what I expected as normally morrisons facilities are very good!! Will not be using this one again!

Popped in for breakfast Wouldn't go again. Beans were cheap nasty things For the same price I'd rather go to one of the local cafés

I was thinking about all the times we've visited restaurants in the area and Morrison's café is up there with value for money with delicious fare. Hubby and I often have lunch when we shop on a Thursday lunch time and NEVER disappointed and sometimes we'll dive straight in a good chicken roast dinner or fish 'n' chips, a curry or hunters chicken. I love liver, bacon and mash and gravy but hubby isn't keen so I order that sometimes as it is just like my mum used to make. All at an exceptionally good price. Yeh I know it sounds naff to say I'm off for lunch at Morrison's but you won't get better for the price you pay. They've also got a filter coffee machine that does a gorgeous milky latte or cappuccino a fraction of the cost than these high street pretentious coffee shops where you'll need a mortgage to buy a coffee and cake! Well done to Morrison's café, better by far than any of the supermarket cafes around.

Eat here now and again, they do excellent sandwiches such as BLTs or smoked salmon which with a coffee costs under £5. They also do a cooked English breakfast at very reasonable price which looks very nice although I have not eaten one myself

I was seriously impressed and totally surprised.Met up with a friend for a cooked breakfast and found the meal to be tasty,piping hot,well presented and very very good value.Eating area and table was spotless and staff most helpful. As indicated I was totally taken aback and will definitely eat there again.

To be quiet honest for value Morrisons beats many heigher priced restaurants. Would recommend as a cheep but very good value meal to all .

We always visit this store when we are on Holiday and are always pleased with the food quality and service of the staff. We have sometimes had to wait 15-20 minutes for food but its always been really busy. The staff are always friendly and helpful especially with the amount of work they do. This is a great café and definitely worth a visit if in the area, its good food at a good price. if you want restaurant quality then go for a restaurant but if you want to save a bit of money head to the café.

We have used this very convenient café when doing our big grocery shopping at Morrison's in Bideford over the last 5 years. We were regulars. However, Morrison's supermarket prices and misleading and convoluted offers etc have tended to put us off lately. This means that we have bought less and less in recent months, only using it as a last resort. However, we still used the café when we had occasion to use the supermarket. I would have rated the café fairly high, taking account the fair value for money prices.The most recent visit to the café was Friday 3rd March. There was a noticeable drop in standards. Two sandwich packs, a portion of chips and the usual cup of teas were bought. The salad in the sandwich was far from fresh and indeed, not very clean which caused us to stop eating any of the salad. The chips took half an hour to arrive compared to 3-4 minutes in the past. On pointing out the poor quality of the sandwiches, a 'supervisor' was called. When he came, his response simply attributed the problem to the fact that the sandwiches were prepared outside the store. No proper apology, an arrogant attitude reflecting that he simply did not want to take responsibility for the quality of the goods being served at his cafe. We could only assume that he hopes that customers will never return and that he does not need his job! We will not be back!
