Absolutely fantastic fine dining restaurant, all of the food is well thought out. This was the second time visiting and wasn't disappointed, having a wife who's picky what she eats, not knowing the menu suits us both as we've never been disappointed. The decor and atmosphere is really nice, all of the staff are great and the wine pairings are really thoughtful and makes such a difference to the meal. I can't recommend this restaurant enough, a must go to if visiting for a weekend.

What a gem! Delicious food and wine with great choice, warm atmosphere and fantastic service. Every time I visit, my friends and I have a really wonderful time! Amalfi’s has a very welcoming, family feel about the place. Feel so lucky to have such a fantastic Italian restaurant on my doorstep!

After wanting to try old stone pizzeria for a while I finally booked a table and went tonight. Its fair to say this place lived up to they hype I've heard about it! We had amazing table service and ate the most tastiest pizzas ever! Pizzas are very generous in size and great value for money, we ordered a sides but couldn't eat it all so we took our leftovers home with us and our excited to have leftover pizza for lunch! Thanks oldstones we will definitely be back again! 💖🍕

Absolute awesome evening, not a morsel of food left at the end of the evening. Good auld chats had with everyone at the table as the evening went on seamlessly. It is family run, it is a rustic place. There is nothing negative I can say… I heard people say it is a bit pricey, which it is and it is not Michelin star food at all but well worth experiencing Guiseppe’s as a whole. I will be returning again and again and again. They only had three of them running the evening for 30-40 people in the restaurant, I did think it was going to be long waits and issues but I was wrong, it was unusual how it was done in the way 1 type of dish came out to each table if it had been ordered and then the next type, but it worked for them and us and everyone still started to eat at the same time. Relaxed, fun and delicious and portions are healthy, you’re not over faced. Thank you Guiseppe’s!!

As discerning diners we have been infrequent visitors at this delightful wayside hostility for 55 years and we have always been delighted with the home made food on offer. We have also chosen on each visit one of their home made ‘specialty two in one pies’ and have never been disappointed. We first visited this pub in 1970 which from those days has built up an ‘enviable reputation’ for their speciality home made produce’. During the intervening years there has been several owners and bar managers, and doubtless different chefs, but throughout this time their home made food has remained consistently excellent. I must however say IF you are looking for the ‘modern type Michelin minimalist offering with smears, blobs, and pretty flowers on the plate?, the Weighbridge is most definitely not for you; and you are in the wrong place! However if you are searching for wholesome tasty chef made produce, that will satisfy the heartiest of appetites, you have arrived at the right place and like us you will not be disappointed. We incidentally travel 20 miles for this hospitality, and treat the place as ‘our local’. It is to the credit of passing down these much loved traditional home made recipes over the years, and the commitment of all the previous owners and managers that this consistency of quality dining has been maintained. There has over the previous twelve months been yet another change of owners, but the quality of the offering and the service, has remained as good as it originally was in the 1970, this is a remarkable and commendable achievement. Finally worthy of a mention is the Bar Manager Carl, who has been in post for a very large part of the time we have been visiting, and naturally with the chefs and service staff must take great credit for delivering the consistency of these home made recipes. This in the hospitality World is a considerable and commendable achievement. We are looking forward to our next visit, now in our 80th year.

We stayed at the rooms and enjoyed the 8 course tasting menu. The food was prepared with great skill and attention to detail. Everything was very tasty and the wine matches were interesting. The staff and chef were very knowledgeable and passionate about the food and service. No liquid nitrogen or gimmicks just well cooked and presented food.

We had no booking but were made welcome for an early lunch of soup. Crab soup tasted nice but had shell in it. The bread was supposed to be sourdough but was an unusual white bread with caraway seed in it. This is an acquired tasted which I haven't acquired so the waitrose exchanged it for some French bread. I was surprised to be charged £4.50 extra for this. I had not been told I would be charged and was lead to believe it was a straight exchange. The lady at the till was not to be budged so I paid, but it left, together with the 'sourdough', a rather bitter taste. A shame as I had heard good things but came away underwhelmed and vaguely annoyed. But a nice setting etc.

After numerous trial and errors we decided to try here as Stroud WAS CLOSED ON A MONDAY . Many places seemed to be just vegan or one place at 1300 hrs had no bacon for a sarnie . The very large undercover food hall was only partially open , no customers and bizarre selections. The only pub we found The Retreat was empty and only did burger and chips. So we decided to leave. Our last resort was 15. Very little choice. Service very good ,but that's it .

Amazing value bar meals. The Yorkshire pudding wraps with roasties and dipping gravy are to die for. The basket meals look brilliant as well. Great service and a lovely host behind the bar , we will be back to try the rest of the food and music nights soon.
