The most beautiful food, and incredibly friendly staff. Faultless. We hadn’t booked, and were the last to leave, but made utterly welcome throughout. Thank you so much, a really lovely evening.

Delicious authentic Italian l food. Cozy welcoming decor. Marsala chicken was lovely, very large snd tender chicken escalope with plenty of sauce. A large portion of roasted veg accompanied it. Hubby devoured the Tri Carne. Which was also served with plenty of tasty sauce and the roasted veg. Lots of unique specials on the board. The delightful waitress are very accommodating, even found me a pair of specs so I could read the menu.( forgot mine.) They are all a credit to the restaurant and owners. Starters were large and the cheesy garlic bread was pizza sized !! We ordered affrogatta( apologies for spelling.) It came with a shot of Amaretto too. Gorgeous. It was our 25th wedding anniversary and they decorated our table in the lemon roses and ribbon I sneaked to them earlier. Hubby was so touched. Honestly everyone did their upmost to ensure we had a truly memorable evening. We are so very grateful

A culinary gem tucked away in the little market town of Nailsworth. The food, service and ambience is second to none. A slice of authentic Italy in rural Gloucestershire. We left not only having satisfied our appetites but also feeling suitably warm from the friendliness of the people that make Amalfi a must place to visit. Molto Bene.

This was a fantastic family run store in the middle of Nailsworth. Easily accessible. We were able to sit outside and take in the High Street of Nailsworth. The food was wonderful. We had their soup of the day, their spinach and mushroom tortellini, the margherita pizza, the garlic mushrooms and the in-house focaccia. The food was delicious and wonderful and they kindly offered us some biscuits as we left. On the whole it was a wonderful dining experience, the tortellini in particular was absolutely wonderful. If we are in the area again, we will visit them for sure

Great service. Really lovely people. The food however is not good and I am shocked to see so many positive reviews on here about it. I had scallops in shell with breadcrumbs to start. They were clearly from frozen and bought in. Tasteless, horrible texture… fooling no one. They left a horrible aftertaste like really old soggy breadcrumbs. For the main I ordered fillet steak which I also think was from frozen and was the worth cut of fillet I have ever had. It was also bland and was served with some sorry looking salad. None of this would warrant a bad review if it wasn’t so expensive. Our bill was around £160 for 3 people and we all hated our food. Please change the chef because the serving staff are good at their job lovely. Won’t be visiting again unfortunately.

Stopped for visit when my wife and I were visiting the area. We were greeted by a very friendly and enthusiastic waitress who couldn't do enough for us. And the food was fantastic. Huge portions and delicious. We will be back if we are in the area again.

Best meal by far we have had during our 3-week trip to England! Loved the pizza. Simple but delicious. Tortellini with bolognese yummy! Topped off with delicious tiramisu and excellent lemoncello.

Had a wonderful meal, Silvia & the whole team were amazing; so personable & passionate about their food. Portions were generous, and the garlic bread with cheese and swordfish were divine. Would definitely come back if we're ever in the area again! 10/10 would recommend.

I ordered the pasta Sofia (pasta with chicken and mushrooms in creamy sauce). Whilst the flavour was good, the chicken had been sliced into such ridiculously tiny pieces that they were barely recognisable. When I mentioned this to the waiter he said it was because they get a lot of children in the restaurant and they like their meat cut into small pieces. I don't expect to be served a child's meal in a restaurant, and clearly this meal was not freshly prepared. Very disappointing. This was my second time here, I'm unlikely to return a third time. On another note, I notice that the owner has commented "shame on you" on all his poor reviews, which is not only arrogant but reflects a poor attitude to his customers and negative feedback.

Lovely Italian restaurant in the middle of Cotswolds serving genuine Italian cuisine. The staff are lovely and very attentive. Portions also pretty decent. Pizza without doubt was the best. Highly recommend to anyone who visits the area.

We had a gorgeous meal tonight. The wine was delightful, starters were gorgeous and the main meal was fantastic. The staff in the restaurant were all extremely considerate to my allergies and made our evening relaxed. As well as their service, the staff were personable, knowledgeable regarding their food options and hard working. We will be returning and recommending this restaurant to our friends and family. I was hesitant to write this. Could I have it wrong?......but I have had so much better? Gutted. Money down the drain. Pizza was completely tasteless! Minimal topping for what seems to be a pricey menu. My partners pizza was soggy ( never eat uncooked dough ) but at least had salt in his ingredients to flavour it. I felt so sad to part away paying £85 and having left so hungry. I appreciate the restaurant scores high - granted - but for those authentic Italian cooks and Italian bloodline, please don't be misled. I'm ashamed of Italian cuisine if it was anything like this. The waiter offered to cook it himself when he spotted us disatisfied..really? You're better than the chef? Why not get it right first time? I didn't have time to wait for a third pizza......Ohhhh I have over 1000 reviews, they all say its amazing. What do I know, hey? Never again. Beautiful location on the map, but the reviewers have this oh so wrong. What a waste of a special celebration. EDIT POST OWNER'S RESPONSE Shame on your poorly cooked 3rd pizza. We paid the full price, we are entitled to also feedback, just because its not 4/5, we still have a right to tell people of our experience. Shame on the high reviews too! your poor quality food, and your poor reply to this. Shame on YOU!!!

Really bad experience here, really expensive and food was not great at all. Undercooked and soggy

It is one of the worst pizzas I have had, tasteless and very bland, I did mention this and was told the waiter could make another one this would of been 3rd time lucky it would of been made, as first time they got the pizza completely wrong and had to wait for it to be redone. My pizza was very under cooked the base was soggy and not very edible at all. All off the problems we had and still cost us 84 pounds not even something off the bill due to the issues we had. Beautiful restaurant; very nicely decorated, feels very warm, though it is spacious, very friendly staff and they all very happy, helpful and attentive. Food is fantastic, cold cuts platter, seafood pasta which is great portion, lovely pizza and profiteroles!! Definitely recommended and returning!! Thank you for the fantastic dinner!

THE BEST Italian I've ever had. We had a family dinner there to celebrate our wedding- and the food was excellent. The service was without a second thought- perfect. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. I couldn't have asked for a better experience for our special day. We will definitely be returning anytime we want an elevated night out.

Went there for my birthday last night, first time,without booking a table. From outside is just like another place with green,white and red colours. But from the second you enter,the staff welcome and treat you like VIP. Coats taken and hanged,table clean and ready to sit at it. The staff are Italians,genuinely friendly and helpful,. Drinks were served very quickly. Whilst we were waiting for the main course the waitress was around and making us relaxed and comfortable. The interior is very Italian, pictures from different places in Italy, chilies and garlic pleats hanging. The bar is small,but full of wine bottles in different colours and sizes,like in a village taverna,somewhere in Sicilia. There is accessible toilet on the ground floor. In the basement there are more tables,which reminded me of my native country Bulgaria, where the cellars are converted for eating and drinking. The atmosphere is very nice and takes you to the lands of emperors and gladiators. The food is...delicious, freshly made, and no need to wait to enjoy it. Will go back there to try the dessert menu and wines. Highly recommend the place,just go and see for yourself.

Pizza or anything on that pizza dough - so so good ! The sauce was perfect and the base was cooked just right with the crispiness you'd expect from a good pizza oven. The interior is quite colourful with a lot of photos and bright colours (a much needed distraction when you have a toddler). If you're in Nailsworth, give it a go!

Had an amazing meal with friends on Sunday. Two reasons for only giving 4 stars, firstly they don't serve any non alcoholic wine or spirits, there aren't many restaurants now who don't serve them. Reason 2 was because it was so noisy I couldn't hear a word of the specials we were told about, far better to give them as an extra menu in my view.

Everything is authentic at this Italian restaurant. The home-cooked food is delicious, the atmosphere is lively, and the staff (all Italian) are warm, friendly, and work incredibly hard to provide top-notch service. We felt like friends or family by the time they brought some Limoncello at the end of the meal. A totally enjoyable experience where we felt valued as customers. We will definitely return!

Went for a Mother's Day lunch here today. Our table wasn't ready on arrival but we were sat outside under cover with heaters, drinks and olives (on the house) and we were sat downstairs a while later (no drama). A relaxed atmosphere and our food came quickly and all of our party enjoyed the food which was generous too. Attentive and relaxed staff is always good to see even though they were obviously busy today. My partner and I were extremely impressed and will no doubt be returning again and again. Excellent and recommended.

It felt like we had been transported to Italy tonight in Amalfi in Nailsworth. The service was wonderful, so friendly and attentive (and genuine Italian staff!), we were made to feel special, and given complimentary biscotti and lemon cello at the end. The pizzas were very good, and the profiteroles were delicious. The waitress pre-empted anything we might need and bought extra spoons for sharing pudding without being asked. It’s definitely a treat, as by the time you’ve added wine, starters and sides it’s not a cheap meal, but the service and general experience is worth it. My only comments would be the lighting is a bit stark, more ambient light would be better, and there wasn’t any music when we arrived at 6pm, which made it lack atmosphere. But it got better when the tables started filling up.

Well what an evening, it will always be a special place, as being the 29th, on a leap year, I was proposed to wow. Staff and food were amazing, being cooked to order with lots of taste. Thoroughly recommend.

On a short stay in Gloucestershire, my wife and I fancied an Italian dinner and were attracted by the 'Amalfi' name. I called in advance, and was assured no reservation would be needed for this February Tuesday evening. Good choice! The restaurant has real kerb appeal and the inside also pleases immediately - exciting artwork. A warm welcome from the sister and brother front-of-house team was maintained throughout the service. The food was excellent: to start, I had frittura mista (fried fish), which could be offered as a sharing platter but I finished the lot! My main was a creamy, spinach and mushroom tortellini - again a generous portion, which left me replete. My wife had rigatoni arabiata, which was rich and delicious. With a shared bottle of San Pelligrino sparkling water, we were fully satisfied. Should we back to the area, we will undoubtedly return. In every respect Bellissimo! Bellissima!

Couldn’t do enough Starters were amazing obviously good quality ingredients as was the streak, cooked a little to pink for me but was very quickly flashed for an extra minute, no bother what so ever, we didn’t have room for dessert but the ones they were serving looked delicious Thank you again for a lovely meal

Excellent food cooked to high standard. The staff could not do enough for you and all were very knowledgeable of the menu. All in all a very enjoyable night out and whoever makes the liquor coffee is a star. I love an Irish coffee and this was by far the best I’ve had.

Romantic last minute get away with the wife. Having eaten in a nearby hotel where we were staying the night before, we saw the reviews of this restaurant and decided to try book. As it was a Saturday night we wasn't expecting to get in. To our amazement they had a few slots left. My wife booked on line & within a hour the manager / owner called to confirm our time. From walking in we were warmly received & greeted by all of the staff. Silvia was our waitress who was a breath of fresh air. Charming, knowledgeable & very friendly as well as attentive to our needs. To be fair all of the staff were fantastic 👏 The food was superb & the atmosphere & buzz of the place was fabulous 👌 A minor criticism was the drinks menu was limited with nothing on draught. Overall we would definitely return and can't recommend this restaurant highly enough!

This is our absolutely favourite Italian restaurant. We were here with our 3 children for Christmas and last night, we booked for our 32nd wedding anniversary. We could not have chosen a better place to go. The staff are so attentive and the food is just 'chef's kiss' wonderful! We chose from the specials and they did not disappoint. For our starters, I had the scallops and hubby had the mushrooms. Then for mains, I had the seafood ravioli and hubby had the seafood risotto. For sides, we had the garlic spinach. I had the panacotta for dessert. Portion sizes were genenerous and washed down with a lovely rose. All around, a 5 star experience!!! And of course, we will come again.
