Fifteen Bistro in Stroud

After numerous trial and errors we decided to try here as Stroud WAS CLOSED ON A MONDAY . Many places seemed to be just vegan or one place at 1300 hrs had no bacon for a sarnie . The very large undercover food hall was only partially open , no customers and bizarre selections. The only pub we found The Retreat was empty and only did burger and chips. So we decided to leave. Our last resort was 15. Very little choice. Service very good ,but that's it .

Excellent all day breakfast. Very substantial and a good price of £9.90 including a drink. Service a tiny bit slow but we weren't on a hurry.

Went in for lunch on a Tuesday lunchtime the place was quiet but there were a few groups of customers in that looked as if they had eaten lunch. We went in and as there was no one behind the counter we sat at an empty table, read the menu and decided what we wanted for lunch then waited and waited and waited. There was no one behind the counter when we came in and 15 minutes later still no one had appeared. There was a bell on the counter which I rang to attract attention as there sounded like there was someone upstairs in the kitchen but no one responded or came down. After at least 15 to 20 minutes with no staff appearing and no opportunity to place and order we gave up and left. Very strange and very poor service

My car was in for an MOT in Stroud - needed breakfast. Full English with tea and toast £9. Breakfast was excellent!

Best and most inexpensive coffee (and scones!) in town, and really nice folks in a family business. Nice to sit outside, with the added bonus that I can see my bus coming! :-)

Had my 1st every breakfast at fifteen this morning. It was great! Right in the centre of Stroud. Highly recommend .

Good all year round excellent service and always something for every apitite . A comfortable welcoming atmosphere.

Excellent breakfast ( 1 veggie 1 scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. With tea and coffee). Sat outside getting the last of the summer sun. Very pleasant.

My wife and I decided to have the cooked breakfast, what a joke, the bacon was that hard you could have used it as a door stop, the eggs were way overdone, the mushrooms were not fresh ,the sausages were no better, if this is the best the chef can do, you need to get a better one, this must be the worst breakfast I have ever eaten. The toast was horrible, even the tea Tasted vile& you have a cheek to charge over £6.00 for rubbish. I would highly recommend to give this place a miss, the staff are unfriendly & seems like they can’t be bothered.

This was our first visit to ‘Fifteen’ and it certainly will not be the last. We both had a cooked breakfast and it was very tasty, well presented, great quality ingredients and excellent value for money. Despite the place being packed with customers, the food arrived in a reasonable time. We also ordered tea for two, but instead of a pot of tea, we just received a cup of tea each, that old only be my small criticism if I pushed pushed to make one. My other half said she would have liked her eggs a little less well done, but still very enjoyable. We look forward to our next visit to the area and we will make a beeline to eat here.

Cannot comment on any cooked food as we were only looking for a lunchtime sandwich. Surprised at the standard of the bread and the fillings. To be honest was only expecting sliced factory bread and ok fillings. What was actually presented was proper bakers bread ( brown seeded) and fillings that were huge in quantity and of good quality products - devon tickler cheddar for one and smoked salmon for the other. So the old adage I suppose do not judge a book by its cover!! Good value , nice presentation and friendly staff.

Just ok. Staff not very friendly, sandwiches ok, not great. Chocolate cake quite nice. Don't think I will return.

Visited Saturday lunch time, the cafe was busy, but we still found a table. They were very accomodating, as my daughter wanted something different to what was on the menu. Food was quickly delivered. Very nice. Would definitely go again.

Called in here just for a snack, had a couple of Panini`s, mine was filled with Brie and cranberry sauce, cheese was very bland and cranberry so little you could not taste it

Pedí un panini de atún derretido y era la baguette blanca más barata que contenía raspados de atún enlatado seco y una fina capa de mozzarella. Yo no lo terminé hermano. Mi marido tenía un desayuno vegetariano promedio con pan apenas tostado y aceitunas al azar. Cuando pagamos al final, en lugar de decir gracias y adiós, la mujer se dio la vuelta y siguió haciendo un café a alguien.Barato pero no alegre.

Nos topamos con esta joya de bistro buscando un lugar para desayunar. Pedimos el desayuno cocinado sin darnos cuenta de que tienes 2 de todo. Fue cocinado a la perfección y nos dejó muy satisfactoriamente lleno! Definitivamente te recomendamos que pruebes esto.

Fui a tomar un café, que tenía una muy buena relación calidad-precio. Aunque no comí, vi las comidas que se servían a otros comensales, y definitivamente comeré aquí la próxima vez que esté en Stroud. Es un ambiente encantador y muy limpio, con un servicio amable. La comida se veía muy buena calidad y las porciones también parecían muy buenas. Sólo una pequeña cosa; Si va a tomar un café y quiere pagar con tarjeta, hay un cargo mínimo de 5. 00 para pagos con tarjeta, así que traiga algo de efectivo con usted.

Been here a few times and it’s such a good place for breakfast or lunch, reasonably priced and you can eat indoors or out. Had the Eggs Benedict this time and although they were nice, there was something odd about the hollandaise I couldn’t put my finger on. It was oddly sweet and not as sharp as I’d expect. I should have mentioned it at the time, so don’t be put off.

we were in Stroud having visited the farrners market and mini golf and shops and wanted somewhere for a light lunch.

We visit Stroud as often as possible and whenever we do we make a Bee line to Fifteen without doubt the jewel of Strouds dining experience We always get the warmest of welcomes firstly from the Proprietor with a friendly hand shake and secondly from Luminella the undoubted star of Fifteen who takes the orders and serves the food in such a delightful and unassuming manner. The food is freshly prepared from a varied menu beautifully presented and of the highest quality. Fifteen is well worth a visit David and Ann

We frequent this cafe regularly. The food is freshly cooked and there is a good variety of meals available. There is a varied menu consisting of UK/European staples including several pasta options and some vegetarian dishes. Don't forget to look at the varied specials board. We always feel welcome and comfortable. The staff are friendly and the prices are very reasonable. A great place for breakfast or lunch.

Went in yesterday for some lunch, and whilst the food was decent enough there was no working toilet in the cafe, nor any offer of an alternative facility or even much of an apology. Not impressed.

Nice little cafe/bistro in the centre. Just a short stop off on a journey south. Pleasant but small with upper and lower levels consistent with this hilly location. A bit too cool to sit outside today. Good service and atmosphere.

Lovely tuna panini with side salad and dressing. Arrived quickly and reasonably priced£6. Able to sit outside and have coffee to watch the world go by- well people of Stroud, which is always interesting.... friendly staff- and great place to have lunch or just while away a couple of hours.

Buen desayuno, pero una queja, las salchichas. Dos baratas, principalmente llena de rosquillas. Hubiera preferido una buena local. Por lo demás bien.

Me he comido aquí varias veces y he probado las croquetas, bocadillo tostado, huevos benedict y marisco pasta y han sido delicioso. El personal es educado y amable, y está impecablemente limpio. Si tengo una queja es el acceso a la (unisex) wc, que es en la bodega, e implica bajar una empinada escalera y raquítica. Pero aparte de eso, este tiene que ser uno de los mejores restaurantes café / en Stroud.

Almorzamos: ensalada y sándwich para uno, ensalada y pasta para la otra. La comida es apenas gourmet pero sabroso y bien preparado. Las porciones son modestas (no enorme, no pequeño). Lugar es muy informal y formal.

He tenido muchos desayuno y almuerzo en este restaurante. La comida siempre es muy buena, excelente servicio. Ofrece comida inglesa y europea. Agradable. griego

Stopped here for lunch on a Saturday. Great menu and specials..... I was spoilt for choice. I had lasagne and my mum had seafood pasta. Both meals were lovely. Not huge portions but good quality and really tasty. I will definitely return to try something from the specials board.

I have to confess to being addicted to 15. My 3-year old grandson and myself go there every Monday for a simple beans on toast and a cake which he orders. Nicole and Lumi make a big fuss of him. This is what sets 15 apart from other cafes and coffee shops in Stroud - good continental service and good food. I recommend the ham, egg and chips. Presented so well on the plate it looks like a painting!Merry Christmas

Good news is that it opens at 8:00. Had the vegetarian breakfast with fried halloumi, fresh grilled tomatoes, a pile of fresh mushrooms, olives and better than average toast.My latte came quickly and was hot and well brewed. The place itself is cosy and has a welcoming family neighborhood feel.

I ordered a cup of tea and the chef's special for £6.40.Service like that doesn't normally bother me, in fact I once went into a model shop (also in Stroud) and conducted an entire transaction without talking because the guy was on the phone. It sounded important so we communicated with gestures and eyebrow wiggles. No problemo. At Fifteen bistro I felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a customer.Then the food arrived. The chef's special is bubble and squeak with bacon and a poached egg topped with Hollandaise sauce. The poached egg was good, with a runny yolk and the rest was ok.The real problem for me was the portion size. I mean, come on! It covers one quarter of the plate! I looked at it and thought about the fiver I had paid for it and a hot wave of anger and frustration washed over me. For a main course it was completely inadequate. I wanted to throw it on the floor and storm out but, being English, I ate it quietly and scuttled off. It would have made a hearty starter and, in fact, it did because I bought a sandwich on my way back to work.If you want to play Pokemon Go and eat at the same time I recommend going to Mr Twitchetts rather than Fifteen Bistro, it's actually IN the sub rooms. The only reason I didn't eat there is because I thought I'd try something different. How I regret that decision now.

Visited today for lunch and decided on the Chefs special which was bubble and squeak topped with crispy bacon, poached egg and covered in hollandaise sauce. It was absolutely delicious! The service was quick and friendly and would certainly come back again.

service was nice but I must have ordered the wrong thing...I dont eat dairy or gluten and very rarely eat meat but it was the only thing on the menu that I could see myself eating on a super hot day other than soup so I went for the BBQ chicken salad. Basically a load of BBQ sauce on top of chicken and salad with some bread on the side. I picked out the tomatoes and didn't really eat more than 3 bites. My boyfriend wasn't impressed with his food either but said there wasn't anything particularly wrong with it. Regardless, we probably won't be back cause first impressions with restaurants are everything.

I work in Thrupp and have visited Fifteen Bistro many times over the past 12 months. I tend to visit with my work colleagues once a month, normally on pay day. We book our table in advance and pre order over the phone to make sure we make the most of our 1 hour lunch break. The staff is friendly, food is very tasty and fresh and served promptly. It is proper home made and hearty food, the portions size is just about right for a lunch. We will continue to visit.

Friendly cafe/restaurant good choice of dishes and cakes something for all tastes, the coffee is one of the best in town

There is no shortage of places for breakfast in Stroud, especially in the tradition of the greasy spoon (aka "Full English"). But suppose you want something special and better for you? That's when you should head for the Fifteen Bistro. You can have, for instance, a delicious Eggs Benedict or a variation of it. I recently had the "Chef's Special", bubble & squeak, poached egg, hollandaise sauce and streaky bacon for £5.00. It was excellent yet the cost was less than I would normally expect to pay for fare of this quality. They also do delicious omelettes, falafels and other tempting things for breakfast or lunch. The evening menu looks interesting too. The coffee is very good and the service is delightful (you'll immediately see what I mean).

Probably go once a fortnight, good service and really nice food that is great value. Specials change quite often so usually something new to try.

We stopped here for lunch and had a delicious meal. The staff were really friendly and everywhere was bright and clean. They had a wide selection of meals at reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend eating here.

A Wednesday lunch time visit.We found the staff friendly and welcoming. There was a wide range of dishes available, at reasonable prices. My wife enthused about her fishcakes, plus accompaniments, and my Ham, Egg and Chips was the best of its kind I have had in a long time. Would definitely visit again when next in town.Excellent - thanks very much :-) !!

Great breakfast selection for a market Saturday morning - eggs benedict was perfect, full breakfast likewise, in a friendly cafe environment.

We had lunch here today and a good selection of food is on offer - ranging from the fixed menu to the specials on offer.The staff were very helpful and attentive and as for the food - the warm prawn and smoked salmon salad was delicious.

I popped in here last weekend for a coffee with a friend, and decided to have a scone too. Well, it was delightful, soft, fresh, crumbly, delicious. Washed down with a refreshing cup of black coffee. My friend had a danish pastry, and made sounds and faces appearing to indicate enjoyment.

My favourite place in the whole of stroud, the ladies that work there are amazing and work so hard to make sure there customers are happy...and the food is to die for, you'd think you were sat in a 5* restaurant with the way the food tastes and the way it's presented! The cafe itself is cosy and homely and just a lovely place to be.

I'm a regular customer and have always had a great experience. The staff have always been great, the food is always perfect and the prices are brilliant.

Come here once before for a quick lunch with a friend. The menu includes your normal café food like Panini's, sandwiches and breakfasts - all of which are listed at a fair price. Good, quick service with plenty of room to sit down and enjoy lunch.

Last minute lunch for two. One of us is a Coeliac but there was plenty of choice for them. Great value and delicious butternut and chorizo risotto with a glass of wine. We will definitely go back.

I've been a regular customer, along with my family since the Bistro opened.The food is always delicious and cooked the way you want it. The staff are attentive without being obtrusive and very friendly.Extremely good value for money. Excellent for coffee and cake as well as cooked meals.

My perfect day would start with smoked salmon, scrambled egg on white toast with proper butter a good quality coffee. I always order it if I'm out for brunch and I am nearly always disappointed but not at fifteen and all for less than £10 and that included a slice of some if the best carrot cake ever made

Read the reviews on Trip Advisor earlier today so my wife &I popped over for a bite to eat and we are so glad we did. The food was fantastic. The staff were friendly and polite, the atmosphere was relaxed and the prices are insanely low considering the quality. £15 for 2 drinks, a Full English and A Spanish Omelette with Chips and salad. Will definitely be going back!!

I vistited this cafe a few months ago and asked them if the food is fresh they told me if i wasn't happy you don't have to pay.I couldn't argue with that offer so i had the salmon and avacardo salad and it was faultless everything was perfect. The staff are all friendly polite and without a doubt would reccomend.Do not be fooled when you look at this place you may presume they are just a coffee shop but there not.Today i had steak perfectly cooked food to very high standard nothing is too much to.ask them either very kind all round great experience.All STAFF POLITE ALL STAFF WELCOMED ME THE CHEF COOKS VERY HIGH STANDARD FOOD.

Have been to this cafe before but just for coffee, but decided to pop in for lunch after reading reviews on trip adviser. Had a lovely lunch! I had pasta with salmon and butternut squash, and my husband had pasta with spicy chicken and tomato. We also had bread and olives, and drinks. The dishes were very tasty and good sized portions. and the bill came to under £20. Brilliant value!

I've tried this place a few times. Each time something different, breakfast/lunch/dinner its been top notch every time. What they do with their mushrooms makes me happy I'm the type of person who loves mushrooms! Steak perfectly cooked on my last visit. Service is quick and unobtrusive. Excellent value as well.

Went here for lunch and the food was great at reasonable prices too. Very child friendly (we have a 2 year old) and the staff were more than welcoming.

At first site, this looks like an ordinary cafe in the centre of Stroud, opposite the Subscription Rooms. Everything about it is unassuming. Then you notice the lights are a little different and the staff chatty and friendly.The menu is more varied than one might expect, but includes the usual British fare and more. I ordered Eggs Royale (like Eggs Benedict but with smoked salmon replacing the bacon) ;oO The dish was presented more as I would expect from nouvelle cuisine. A chef with flare and style.Some smart restaurants can be very disappointing. Here is a bistro that has something for everyone and is delivered with style. You will not be disappointed.

If you want a coffee, in my opinion, is the best coffee that i´ve tasted in England. My recomendation about food: the risotto with chorizo, the steak, and the best scrambled eggs in the world. About the price? I could pay more for this amazing food, it's quite cheap. But what can i say? I love this place.Semper fidelis. Marta.

Came here with my friend a few weeks ago. I had a steak and she had lasagna. Both dishes tasted amazing and my steak was cooked to perfection. Also very good value for money! Will be back soon!

Popped in here for lunch with a friend a little while back and loved it! All the staff are really friendly, can't do enough for you and genuinely care about what they're doing, not to mention the amazing food! My friend and I both had the rib eye steak, and both were cooked to perfection! Will definitely be going again and have already recommended to lots of people!

My fiancé and I visited Fifteen Bistro for a quick lunch while out in Stroud. We were extremely impressed with the overall variety of their menu and the food was great. The service was friendly and I'm sure we will visit again.

This is a lovely place to eat or stop for a coffee. We go here regularly and have never had bad service or a bad meal, there is a great selection of meals, the owner and the girls working there are just lovely too - friendly relaxed atmosphere, would recommend it without doubt.

I absolutely love this place always welcoming staff and good food . Small family business where everybody try to deliver the best things at the best price possible . For me my favourite dish in fifteen is the rib eye which is only 12£ and trust me I've paid more than this for steaks but none of them was as good as this ! Definitely worth a visit !

I've been to fifteen bistro several times for lunch, and tried different meals which were all delicious, especially the beef stroganoff. As well as this, the cafe has a lovely atmosphere with friendly staff and good service. I would highly recommend this cafe to everyone who comes to visit Stroud.

A fantastic Bistro in the heart of Stroud, which is now a must for us for brunch when visiting the Farmers market on a Saturday morning. Lovely friendly staff, and for me the best Eggs Benedict ! There is plenty of variety on the menu, and very reasonably priced , a real gem !

My boyfriend and I have been here a few times for lunch and have never been disappointed I normally go for the seafood pasta which i think is mucles, octopus, prawns each time ive had it its been beautiful. I also came here with a friend and had the lasagne also very tasty. Overall its a nice little bistro and I love visiting xx

Tasty uncomplicated rustic English and Pasta dishes. Good English breakfast. Good coffee I think the other reviewer was right -their bad cappuccino was just an off day. I will return.

This is a nice place, with good sunny seating outside and I really enjoyed my breakfast - the special (parma ham on ciabatta with poached eggs and shaved parmesan) but was really disappointed with my cappuccino and would therefore think twice about returning, which is a shame. Hopefully it was just an off day as the food was really good.

2 vegetarian breakfasts (halloumi) and 2 eggs Benedict plus tea and coffee served outside in the sun. Excellent! There are cheaper places to get a Saturday morning breakfast in Stroud but definitely none as good as Fifteen.

I have been eating in bistro fifteen a few times now and i can only highly recommend it even if it is just on the way through. The prices won't hurt your wallet to much but more importantly the food is of great standard. The steak is fantastic coming with amazing chips(seriously best i ever had) and homemade onion rings(not something you come across often) accompanied by an amzing cream sauce. I had fish, beef and chicken and they have been cooked perfectly.Anyway to cut a long story short you should definitely give it a go. You won't regret it!

I enjoyed every minute I spent here, and I also ate the best tuna stake. I will definitely return to this restaurant and eat again. I also have no complains about the staff, the service was excellent ! Thank you Fifteen Bistro !

We have visited Fifteen for breakfast once a month or so for the last few months and have been constantly impressed. Eggs Benedict has been our favourite so far but the vegetarian option and the Fifteen special are also excellent. Service always fast and friendly. Probably not the cheapest in Stroud but definitely the best cooked and presented.
