The Edge in Stroud

This was one of their super club evenings and the second we have attended. Truly lovely evening again. Warm welcome, great care and excellent menu choices beautifully prepared and presented.

Went for lunch , didn’t book , served lunch up to 2.30pm Good service , didn’t have to wait long Lots of choice …

We booked a table for lunch at one of our favourite cafes on Saturday 28th l October. When we arrived we were told the kitchen was not taking food orders for another 30 minutes. So we decided to wander around for a while; then saw a lot of food being loaded into a van from the cafe - that's why they couldn't feed us. We returned after 30 mins and waited 10 minutes before we could grab someone to take an order. We almost left. The food did come quite quickly, but it was badly done. A salad on one plate consisted of broken wilted leaves we sent back. An eggs royale came with no garnish whatsoever. A tuna sandwich garnish was inedible. There is no need to be this bad. We probably won't go back.

Another fantastic Super Club. Fantastic food and wine and always served with a smile. Looking forward to the next one. Thank you Edge Coffee.

REVIEW FROM CHRIS R BELOW IS A LIE! I just wanted to pop on here as a customer who witnessed the man below be very abusive and rude towards the staff working at the edge coffee shop when he entered. What he didn’t realise is the people sat on the table who so say were “staff” witnessed this problem were actually customers. Me being one of them. Both girls remained very professional and calm and explained the kitchen was closed as it was 2:30 not 2:25 as you are stating. Your wife wouldn’t accept this and spoke very rudely to the staff behind the counters . Both yours and your wife’s attitudes were very aggressive, you weren’t happy with the answer and therefore chose not to listen to the staff but in fact mutter irrational comments at them. The staff did their up most to help you out and offer alternative options, they even asked the kitchen to make an exception for you, however again you chose to be rude and difficult customers. Do you not think the fact a coffee shop full of customers could hear the whole commotion was due to your grand entrance, aggressive nature and tone of voice, also resulting in the staff members feeling very intimidated. The man’s review below is not acceptable. Chris Rainbow we’ve seen you post on their Facebook page too. You need to stop making up such lies. We’ve seen you do these reviews for a lot of places all over your Facebook page and they are all awful and so damaging. Thank you the edge coffee shop for providing super service as always. The lunch was delicious and the coffee was tasty as always.

Nice little place but 'toasties' need work. We popped in for a coffee and a tea. Coffee was ok, not sure if it was Extract coffee and it wasn't full of flavour but wasn't bad. We ordered a mozzarella toastie and a cheese and ham. They we're out of sourdough so went for brown. Nice doorstep style bread but they were warm sandwiches and not a proper toastie. My wife even took it packed to be done more and it still same back like a sandwich. Seems like the bread is toasted but the cheese and mozzarella were no where near melted. In fact they were luke warm. Shame, left this review so they can maybe improve them.

1st time visiting this place as I was walking along the Cotswold Way. Great selection of Homemade cakes and the coffee was lovely The outside seating area is a real sun trap. I’ll be visiting again to try the breakfast menu when I’m next in the area.

Popped in for a large latte to take with me whilst out walking along the Cotswold Way. It wasn't until I stopped later to enjoy my drink that I realised my flask was only half full. Admittedly, I should have checked in the cafe (I will in future) but felt the server could have asked if I wanted it topped up (I wouldn't have minded paying a little extra). Disappointing.

What a lovely tea room this is. Very welcoming and friendly staff throughout our stay, very reasonable prices and above average food. All the staff were efficient, friendly and welcoming. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. Good choice of drinks and food for breakfast and lunch.

Had a full English for lunch and heartily enjoyed it. It was of a very good size without being overwhelming. The staff were friendly and professional.

The Edge is a wonderful place, for so many reasons. The coffee is always good and perfectly presented. The cakes, pastries, tarts, bread and all things baking! Are hand made and so good, you can tell how much care and skill has gone into creating amazing bakes. Everything else on the menu follows suits in a combination of lovely, locally sourced ingredients in classic and inventive meals that have never failed to impress. But above all of this, the owners Catherine and Chris and their staff carry the place with their personable and welcoming nature. Such a nice place to sit, think, drink, chat and eat. I've had great conversations with many people there now, feels like a home from home :). Always a pleasure, definitely pop in if you are in the area, or not! It will be worth the trip.

This is a great cafe, I visit frequently with friends. The staff and owners are friendly and helpful, their menu is good and the cakes are amazing.

The atmosphere and staff are excellent at the Edge, they always go out of their way to help ALL customers. Food is excellent... highly recommend this place.

We’re a family of physically disabled and there is little to no disability access to the toilets or gardens. We were disappointed at the obvious lack of respect shown to the physically disadvantaged and left. Such a shame that disability discrimination still exists.

My husband I visited whilst passing whilst on holiday, and so glad we did, the cafe has a lovely atmosphere, the staff seem happy and are very welcoming. We were unsure what the food would be like as we're not from the area, but my first words when it came out was "wow". It tasted incredible and the presentation was fantastic! We would definitely recommend and visit again.

Cafés can so often get things wrong. The Edge, recommended to us by a local, got everything right! Lovely cakes and buns, superb coffee, exceptionally friendly and efficient staff. Thank you!

Come here many times, always have a gluten free cake available and options for lunch. Staff are lovely and service is very quick. Such a nice cafe

We visited this cafe for breakfast with high expectations having enjoyed coffee and cake here last year. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. We both ordered veggie breakfasts costing £8.25 each. To be fair, we were served promptly by friendly, courteous staff, but the breakfast itself was decidedly underwhelming. A few baked beans, a bit of spinach, a very, very poorly poached egg (overdone and messy), mushrooms that were dry and worst of all some very nasty avocado which was overripe and grey in places and a couple of boiled potatoes that were described as sautéed potatoes on the menu, but certainly hadn't been. The toast was okay, but the rest was poorly cooked and sloppily presented. We were offered a refund on our coffees which was good, but unfortunately the flat whites were too milky, so not great either, another shot of coffee would have made them flat whites rather than small lattes. Fabulous little garden, friendly staff, lots of potential to be great, but really needs to pick up its game in terms of the quality of food served. Possibly the lack of any competition in Wotton has led to some complacency here.

We thought we'd see whether we could get a table for coffee following a disappointing visit to Wotton Coffee Shop.We were greeting by friendly staff who offered us a choice of seating inside or in the garden. We opted for the latter. The small court yard housed well spread out tables of varying sizes and offered both a smoking and non smoking section. Surrounded by plants and flowers, and with the sun shining down on us it had somewhat of a holiday feel. Although we'd only popped in for a quick coffee, the lunch menu looked so appetising that we changed our plans and ordered food as well. I opted for the Steak with spinach & mushrooms in a wholegrain mustard sauce. Very tasty, and deceptively filling. My friend ordered the Bhudda Bowl with chicken, and was again very impressed. The food was quick to arrive and the staff were attentive without making you feel rushed. We ordered a couple of cakes to take with us before leaving. (The Snikers Brownies are a must!)This was our first visit to The Edge, but it will most certainly not be the last.

We stopped here for lunch after a lovely walk on the hills. We were expecting a takeaway so it was a nice surprise to be able to sit on the rear courtyard. Personally I’d put up a big sign advertising that!The courtyard was lovely, although chilly! The smell from the outdoor oven was mouth watering! My sausage sandwich was delicious with a superb malty brown bread. Excellent value and lovely service too.

Delicious freshly prepared food. Reasonably priced. Lots of new treats and savouries you can buy to take away as well.

We visited this place, looking for a mid-morning coffee. Shown to a table, not given a menu, ignored for twenty minutes. Couldn't attract anyone's attention, as none of the staff even looked our way. Same thing happened to another couple. We all walked out!

I have never before written a review of anywhere.....but i feel i must say i have just enjoyed the most superb brunch here; excellent food with excellent smiling staff; got my day off to a flying start......thank you

We popped in for lunch on Saturday and enjoyed the vegetable soup and cheese, bacon and guacamole toasted sandwich. Both were really tasty and served by happy, chatty staff. Would definitely go back if we're in the area again. Thank you!

Went to the first pizza night at the edge, amazing food for such a good price and a wonderful range of really thoughtful toppings! Wonderful atmosphere and the staff were lovely, I can’t wait to come back and try more!

Llegué a almorzar la semana pasada con mi nieta de 8 años y aunque estaba tranquilo cuando entramos, pronto se llenó, así que nos alegramos de haber reservado. Tuve la caballa frita, que era absolutamente deliciosa y tan buena relación calidad-precio para el almuerzo. Mi nieta tenía el sándwich de brie y tocino, que le encantó. El equipo fue muy amable, atento y ambos lo disfrutamos, así que definitivamente volveremos, pronto, tal vez para su nuevo club de cena, ¡una gran idea!

I've been coming to the Edge for about 18 months, for breakfast, lunch, quick coffee, inside or out in the garden. I love the place. So friendly, quick service, and the food is delicious. Looking forward to a pizza night and their planned Supper Clubs.

The Edge hizo pizzas para el cine al aire libre en Wotton. Extremadamente decepcionado, fue la peor pizza que he probado: la masa sabía cruda, la cobertura era completamente insípida, ¡un poco de queso suave sin sabor no podía comerlo! Es una pena porque hayan comenzado una noche de pizza un viernes, si ese fuera un ejemplo sería terrible. Era muy caro para lo que era.

Comimos aquí varias veces durante el transcurso de una semana para el desayuno. El personal también fue muy agradable. El único inconveniente es que las mesas en la parte delantera de la cafetería están demasiado cerca una de la otra y una sugerencia es que la gerencia considere sentar a las personas ya que muchos clientes fueron rechazados porque no había suficiente espacio para que hubiera 2 personas sentadas una tabla para 5 por ejemplo.El desayuno inglés completo era encantador al igual que el aguacate con tostadas. La zona de descanso exterior era preciosa y definitivamente vale la pena visitarla.

A great place for a rest and food stop . Really good coffee to wash down a wonderfull fresh breakfast ,(scrambled eggs are beautifully light and moist) Recommend it.

First time visiting Wooton-under-edge, what a lovely little town, very pretty and everyone is so friendly. Popped into The Edge, loved everything about it, the actual place is lovely and the staff are really friendly, they do a good variety of cakes and food, we had scone with cream and jam with coffees, they were great and excellent value for money. Would definitely visit again next time we are in town and try something else from the menu.

Mushrooms on toast was great, a bit more special than the average. V good range of excellent snacks, brunch and cakes. Coffee good too

We hebben genoten van een heerlijk vers ontbijt. Brood met scrambled eggs en dark brood met bacon en gebakken ei. Hierbij dronken we een lekkere cappuccino.

A special evening event. The service was excellent and the food outstanding. The dishes kept on coming and each one has a fabulous taste. So many choices. Excellent evening enjoyed by all. Thanks to Chris and his girls for a most memorable evening.

Realmente quiero que me guste este lugar pero después de 4 veces tengo que decir que estoy decepcionado. Encuentro al personal complaciente y muchas veces desdeñoso. Pedí un menú en una ocasión y me dieron una mirada en blanco. En otra ocasión, el vaso que me dieron estaba claramente sucio, pero me dijeron "así es como son". La comida está bien, las salchichas son sabrosas y el café es decente, pero con demasiada frecuencia los artículos se han agotado y una lenteja que ordené Dahl la última vez no tenía sabor y necesitaba algo de amor (¿un poco de cilantro? ¿Chilli?). También se habían quedado sin panqueques de garbanzos, por lo que se sustituyó por una rebanada de pan endeble, se sirvió en seco sin mantequilla y sin disculpas. En definitiva, decepcionante, hostil y casi complaciente en su enfoque hacia los clientes. Creo que si tuviera alguna competencia real en Wotton estaría en problemas.

Conseguí una mesa de inmediato, aunque estaba ocupada, había una mesa libre a las 12. 30. . . . El tablero de especiales, no sabía qué elegir porque todo sonaba delicioso, así que fue para los buñuelos de maíz dulce con aguacate y huevo escalfado.

Wow, este lugar es una joya que estamos muy contentos de haber reservado una mesa porque siempre está muy, muy, muy ocupado y ahora sabemos por qué el personal, el ambiente y la comida aquí son absolutamente divinos. tomamos un té de crema para dos impresionantes salmón crema queso sándwich de huevo mayonesa sándwich y pavo arándano sándwich con crema colada y mermelada, pastel de limón, pastel de carne y pastel de frutas, enorme tetera de té y huevo escocés. Ahora, permítanme decir que la comida era excepcional, pero el huevo escocés era simplemente celestial cómo se debía hacer un huevo escocés, el único problema era que queríamos más, así que afortunadamente, aún quedaba uno y lo íbamos a casa, pero fue tan bueno. Nos sentamos y lo devoramos antes de que nos fuéramos. si hubieran hecho más de estos, habría comprado felizmente una caja de ellos para llevar a casa (POR FAVOR HAGA MÁS HUEVOS DE VAPOR PARA LA VENTA)

Es como ir a una casa de amigos. Tomamos un café sentado en los sofás y se presentó con pequeños hombrecitos (confieso que le mordí la cabeza), estaba delicioso. El café también era increíble y el personal era educado y profesional, además de ser amable. Así que fuimos de compras, pero solo después de haber reservado una mesa para el almuerzo. Los bocadillos de dedos de pescado eran extremadamente abundantes y muy sabrosos. Los terminé con un batido de chocolate. Me encantó todo el asunto.

Great high street cafe offering tasty food for a decent price. I ordered a breakfast which was £8 and that included a large teapot to go with it. Great deal!

Had one this morning and another at lunch! Great staff, friendly! And, of course, a good espresso is a must, mission accomplished!

This is a vibrant lively cafe where you can have a light snack or one of their speciality coffees, The roasted vegetables with chicken was delicious and the sandwiches very generous. A place for all the family (and dogs!) to enjoy.

Lovely staff and I have had the most excellent pumpkin salad here. Don't be fooled if it is busy at the front - there are several more tables hidden at the back, where I think it is a bit cooler. Level access too.

A group of 12 of us visited The Edge over the weekend for afternoon tea - and it was just amazing! Loads of really tasty sandwiches made with top quality ingredients, a lovely selection of delicious cakes, cheese scones and a pile of the most perfect fruit and plain scones with generous pots of jam and cream to top them off. The friendly staff kept the tea and coffee flowing as we tucked in and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time. There was so much choice, we couldn't eat it all but they gave us boxes to pack up the cakes we couldn't manage then, so we could enjoy them at home later. Lovely way to spend the afternoon and highly recommended.

Lovely food and helpful friendly staff. Had the poached eggs on toast and they were perfect. We then shared a slice of Victoria sponge and it was gorgeous. Definitely worth a visit.

We were in Wotton on a drizzly, damp afternoon (one of the few lacking sun in the last few weeks) and were keen on a cup of tea & a cake. Unfortunately, until we tried The Edge, nobody seemed to understand that my wife couldn't have even a little bit of dairy in her cake (even if they could only offer gluten-free). The surprise, after that, of being offered a choice of dairy-free cakes - and what excellent ones they turned out to be too - was briefly overwhelming, but we managed to order these and some first rate tea. And all at a reasonable price and in pleasant, comfortable surroundings.

Stopped on route having read the review on Tripadvisor. Definitely worth the excellent rating given by other reviewers and probably the best chips I have ever had.

This is probably the best café in Wotton. The staff are really friendly, the coffee was great and the cake was to die for. The reason I only gave 4 stars was because it can get really noisy, so if you simply wanted to sit quietly with a coffee, this might not be the place for you.

Have been here previously when we visited Wotton but didn't do a report, and remembered to do so today! Had lunch - toasted sandwich (goats cheese with red onion marmalade), hubby had toastie with chicken, chorizo and spinach. Both really good and came with a side salad which was very fresh. Staff friendly and helpful. Other people came in with a dog and a bowl of water was brought out immediately. Will call in again next time we're in the area.

Both the full English and veggie breakfasts were delicious, both coming with free tea or coffee. The sausage in particular was amazing and all of the food was excellent quality. Staff very friendly including the owner who chatted with us. We look forward to eating here again.

The edge is a lovely coffee shop in the heart of wotton. Friendly service and amazing selection of cakes and healthy lunches. If the weather is nice then the garden is perfect in a beautiful sunny spot with a play house for the children.

Went with a friend and after seeing the people at the table next to us having the Welsh rarebit decided to try it. So glad we did as it was an absolute delight. We followed by sharing a piece of delicious coffee cake. Busy but well worth a visit.

I went to a private tapas evening yesterday at The Edge. I was the only vegan in the group and did not know what to expect. I need not have worried. Chris prepared some very scrumptious vegan tapas. The whole evening was fab - good food (plenty of it), welcoming atmosphere, informal yet good quality service. We are very lucky to have this gem of a cafe in our little town.

Walking the Cotswold Way, and stopped here to decide whether to cheat on the walk to Old Sodbury and taxi the last seven miles. After coffee and carrot cake, we decided to do exactly that.

We had Afternoon Tea at the Edge café and had a wonderful time. Chris is such a talented chef, the cakes were amazing and beautifully presented! He made an array of delicious sandwiches with a selection of different fillings. We were there for a private...

We were a three adult party. I was given duff info by a customer about dogs as apparently it is dog friendly but she said not. We had some of the specials for lunch plus coffee. The food was good, the service adequate but I didn't like the cafe itself. Its I would say tatty and nothing like the pictures on TA. The toilets leave bit to be desired too. Nothing that a deep clean and two coats of emulsion wouldn't make look whole lot better. Reasonable value.

Calling in to Wotton-under-Edge for an impromptu coffee and cake we were pleasantly surprised to find this quaint little coffee shop. Must have been a popular place because within a few minutes it was full. Excellent coffee and peanut butter brownie - gluten free -meant bliss for the short time it took me to eat the brownie!! Friends had the victoria sandwich and enjoyed the moist light sponge.

Enjoyed the Edge breakfast before walking up to the Tyndale Monument. All very nicely cooked, good value and the bonus is that tea was included in the cost, something I've rarely found lately in cafes - they always seem to charge an extra £2.00 for a tea bag in a cup of water!

Visited for a mates Birthday celebrations and was blown away with quality, quantity, service and price.

Found this coffee shop while out exploring on a weekend away! A real little gem- quirky little place with gorgeous coffee and beautiful cakes- a brilliant discovery! Reasonably priced too!

This was rated as the best place for a cooked breakfast in the area and it did not disappoint. I had poached egg on toast with bacon and my partner had a full English breakfast. Both were freshly cooked and tasted superb. Would thoroughly recommend.

Great local cafe in centre of Main Street . Lots to choose from at reasonable prices . Also popular for home made cakes.

Enjoyed the coffee and cake here sitting in the garden. Plenty of indoor seating and friendly service. There was even a facility to keep any wasps away: burning coffee in a kind of hanging pot, so the fumes kept them away from the tables!

We came in for breakfast on Saturday morning, have been meaning to visit for a while but this place is so popular it is always full! Had a hot chocolate and a cappuccino, then poached eggs on toast and sausage sandwich. Really nice food, eggs were cooked perfectly. The coffee came with a little homemade heart shape biscuit which was cute. It looked like they had some nice offerings for lunch time as well. Looking forward to coming back again!

Cannot rate the Edge veg breakfast highly enough, I don't eat meat simply because I don't like the taste but to find an imaginative veg breakfast seems an impossibility! So it makes going out for breakfast a bit boring to be honest, but the Edge serves an amazing one with egg, mushrooms, spinach, sauté potatoes, tomato and avocado plus toast! Just delicious. Situated in centre of town on Cotswold Way. We had excellent cakes and coffee. The lunch menu was varied and food looked very appetising. Staff friendly and efficient.

We are walking the Cotswold Way and this is a lovely place to aim for morning coffee, lunch or afternoon tea. The earlier you are the more likely you will get a scone! My wife missed out but managed cake instead.

Been three times. Once on a "special" night, Italian night. It was lovely food but no alcohol and the place has very basic furniture. Twice for tea/coffee and a snack which were all over-priced. The staff are friendly and the service is good tho.

In December I reviewed the Edge as 5* but after my most recent experience I don't think I'll be going back. The menu appears to have been truncated to a degree where it could be written on the sides of the salt and pepper pots! Ordered poached eggs on toast £4 with two rashers of bacon charged at £1 per rasher. Fair enough. Charged another £1 when told only one slice of toast came with poached eggs. Would have been cheaper to buy each item separately as 2 eggs and 1 toast was £4 but each item only £1 as add ons!Economics aside, we waited for our drinks for quite some time. A coffee and a mineral water so nothing too exotic! When the water arrived, informed no ice available. Only once in about 15 visits have they been able to provide ice. (They have a co-op next door)!The food arrived not long after and it was so different to the offerings I have had in the past, I asked if there had been a change of management. The toast was black and had the meagerest scrape of butter-type substance. Would have been dry but the poached eggs had not been drained properly so tast was actually wet. One of the eggs was hard and the bacon was actually black. The edge was so hard the bacon shattered like peanut brittle when I bit into it, cutting my mouth and nearly taking out a filling! I admitted defeat, left most of my food and sipped my room temperature water in an attempt to soothe my mouth. I was going to explain my issues to the waitress when she came over to check if our food was ok/ clear the plates but no one ever came. This cafe used to be so good with lots of choice, reasonable prices and excellent food. Seriously, what has happened to the Edge?

Popped in for coffee and cake, friendly staff , lovely decor to the place . I opted for the lemon cake ...OH WOW!!!! Light as air and soooooo tasty!!! Will defo return next time I'm in the area! X

Wifey and I spent a couple of days in the Cotswolds. We called in at The Edge for a quick lunch. Despite the small size of the cafe there's quite an extensive menu with some notable vegetarian options (soup and bowls of beets and salads). The cafe was busy and we were in need of a quick meal and ordered 2 bacon sandwiches and coffee. The sandwiches were superb! The bread was brown artisan and with a couple of large dollops of 'the' tomato ketchup, they didn't last long on the plate. Coffee was well made and good too.Handy place to stop for lunch if you find yourself on the edge of the Cotswolds.

We stopped by for a late lunch of a rainbow bowl of raw vegetable salad with grilled halloumi and a separate bowl of butternut squash soup. These were followed by a flat white and a hot chocolate together with a couple of home made cakes. Everything was delicious and fresh. We will return!

Chris and team at The Edge hosted a Tapas evening for myself and just under 30 guests. The service and food were fabulous. The food was authentic and with the relaxed atmosphere it made a fantastic evening. The staff were very helpful in catering for our dietary requirements.I'd highly recommend The Edge for both private events and as a regular customer food and drinks at any time.

A pleasant atmosphere initially, with competitive prices. My wife and I came to wooton-under-edge for a beading session at Tanzee Designs (for her). I had 4 hours to kill. Started at The Edge. Enjoyed some good black coffee but chose to leave at the point where 3 cyclists on a nearby table got so loud i couldnt concentrate on my book. The Edge dropped from a 5 star to a 4 star review because they dont have wheelchair accessible toilets (2 sets of steps makes it inaccessible). I was parked on Market Street opposite the visitor information centre. The Public wheelchair accessible toilet is next to Wooton Baptist Church around the corner from the information centre (radar key required). All in all a delightful place to visit.

Chris and his team hosted the very best birthday party for 30+ guests. We arranged everything by email and were amazed by the quality and range of cakes, scones and sandwiches(amazing) on offer. The complex range of dietary needs was fully met. The food was beautifully presented and tea, coffee and even milk shakes flowed for hour and half. Staff were attentive but unobtrusive. Loved by all for ages 1 to 80. Will be back soon!

Chris and the team hosted a simply sublime 'Canape & Pudding' last night. Every bite felt like a five star meal - from the Yorkshire puddings filled with beef to the salmon blinis and delicious scotch eggs. The puddings were incredible too - including super yummy lemon tart, macaroons & brownies. All very inventive, super stylish and incredibly tasty. Make sure you book in if you see one of The Edge's evening advertised. The team there are wonderful.

The Edge cafe is a tardis! It looks small then as you go through there's more seating & a beautiful garden with space for children to play & garden equipment to play on. Drinks are great, food is varied, they cater for food intolerances too. Brilliant menu, lovely tasting food. Friendly staff. Recommend if you are taking a trip to wotton.

Decided to pop in for a quick coffee while I waited for the bus last week. Staff were very friendly and the coffee was very reasonably priced. It was pretty full up when I arrived and there was a nice buzzy feel to it. Cakes look very nice but I did not have one, maybe next time !!

A wonderful spot to duck into when walking along Wotton's high street, especially on a cold day and in need of a caffeine boost or hot chocolate for the kiddies (overflowing with cream and marshmallows!) Wonderful sandwiches and cakes always here too. Just skip the milkshakes/flavored milk

Wonderful cafe. Amazing homemade cakes, the only disappointment being you can't eat them all! Seriously good poached eggs and some inventive soups. A little gem. We drive 35 mins for coffee and cake here despite passing at least a dozen other places on the way.

The cafe is both friendly and welcoming and serves delicious cakes with tasty gluten free options too. The decor makes it a nice place to relax in whilst catching up with old friends. Unfortunately I left my scarf there but the management were really kind and sent it to me in the post straight away. I will definatly be visiting again when I'm back in the area.

Visted here with my family after the walk to Nibleys monument and back. Very sweet cafe on the high street. We all had cakes and a drink. Very delicious lots of cakes and sweet treats on offer and plenty of options for those who need gluten free which was great for my sister-in-law. Lovely staff. Just great in general.

The food served here is freshly prepared and the service speedy and friendly. We were so pleased to see a good choice of dishes both on the printed menu and on the specials blackboard. The cafe is clearly popular with all ages, as many of the tables were occupied by happy lunchers. We had grilled halloumi and pesto salad, which was delicious.

Visited after a walk in the area. Nice to have a pot of tea (with cosy) which kept us going for a few cups. Best sandwich I've ever had (try the chicken, Parmesan, tomato and mozzarella). Good service.

Walking the Cotswold Way with a short day's trail today, so very pleased to see this cute cafe on the high street with its tasty menu and smiling staff. They looked after us for a couple of hours with tasty soup (even tho we were slightly late for ordering lunch, Chris and the young ladies responded to my walker's were really accommodating, which is a joy when you've walked 17km during the morning.)High quality Teapig teas and very good cakes were then enjoyed after our lunch. And meeting Bella the gorgeous black lab - politely and quietly sitting to the rear of the cafe - made us both very happy indeed. Highly recommend this place. Looking forward to trying the beautiful shiny coffee machine tomorrow for a morning macchiato!Thanks for such great hospitality, everyone!

Such a lovely little cafe with a charming atmosphere. The tea, latte and cakes were a delight! 10/10!

Very lovely food and great coffee, really reasonably priced drinks options for children. Been a few times now. There's a lovely garden area at the back (shame there was no ice cream on a hot day) staff seem quite friendly.

I like the atmosphere, the clean lines and varied seating. The menu is tempting and nicely presented and delivered.

I ordered drinks, and was going to order sandwiches for each of my children. I was advised that they're pretty big, would I prefer half a sandwich on each plate. How thoughtful as well as accurate!My fish finger sandwich was lovely. Very posh fish goujons rather than the breaded rubbish that the name fish finger suggests.

Very busy little cafe with good coffee and healthy food. Good wifi too. Small town buzz but very good standards on the food and drink.

Staff were really friendly and the sandwich was superb.A friend who was in at the same time was smiling very enthusiastically about his full English.

While on holiday, my family had morning take away coffee from the edge. They are quite particular about there coffee, so it must be good. Called in for a very late snack lunch on our last day the menu looked good and the cakes looked amazing. Unfortunately we were too late. Wish I had called earlier in the week as I feel I missed a treat. Especially as the place I did get lunch was mediocre

Lovely Wotton-under-Edge looked extremely inviting as two slightly soggy, gently steaming Cotswold Way walkers came down from the hill. Due to the inclement weather, an 'inside' lunch was called for and after a quick survey of the many cafes open for business (even on a Monday!) we opted for The Edge as it was busy with a contemporary feel. Our muddy boots were not a problem and we were soon enjoying a pot of tea, kept warm by a very fetching tea cosy. Probably unwisely, in the light of the further trek ahead, we could not resist the great value offerings on the specials board and the quiche (accompanied by a delicious salad) and pie and mash did not disappoint. The cakes also looked very tempting, but we had already eaten too much! Having enjoyed the convivial atmosphere and a lovely lunch, we felt thoroughly refreshed and ready to head off again. So glad we found this great cafe.
