Another fantastic meal at our local. Really highly enjoy the atmosphere in this pub and thoroughly enjoy the food every time. Food was delicious as always and the home made crumble and cheesecake was incredible. Highly recommend. The atmosphere in the pub was great, the locals are a true support and all staff are brilliant too. Very attentive to all needs and made sure to ask for any allergies.

Visited last night what a great evening ,great un buzzing atmosphere great staff and most importantly great food . clean plates all round pictures only of the burger and pulled pork burger but also a steak ,lasagne,and scampi were server . We will rent very soon 👍

We were first time visitors to the Old Crown for Sunday lunch and what a fantastic choice it was. The welcoming was very warm and friendly as was the pub atmosphere, the Sunday lunch was properly home made with perfectly cooked meat , Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and veg. To finish of I had the homemade Biscoff Cheesecake which was delicious. I would well recommend the Old Crown to anyone

Excellent meal, reasonable price

The staff was lovely, ptofessionsl and very helpful when recommending some food. The place is clean, cool behind the bar deco, dog friendly. The halloumi fajitas were delicious, could have had some salad as side, super chips though!

We held our Dad's wake at The Old Crown, in the large conservatory area. The buffet food was gorgeous, mostly homemade. and very reasonably priced. Everyone commented on how good the food was. The staff, especially Seb were so helpful, and put on extra food for us at last minute when more guest arrived than expected. Nothing was too much bother, . Thank you very much. We will be recommending you as an amazing venue to others.

Food excellent. I had the homemade chicken Kiev which was delicious and my friend had a pie that looked really good. A good range of locally distilled gins and vodkas and i had a nice local beer. Lovely service. It was quiet when we were there so can't really comment on the atmosphere hence a 4. But the punters that were there seemed nice. Friendly atmosphere. V reasonably priced. We will be back!

Brilliant service, food and staff!

Had a lovely lunch here. Food was nice and hot along with warm plates. Quick friendly service from the hard working staff and great food. This is definitely a place that offers a varied menu and a fair price with value for money. Our mains and puddings were all very nice with no complaints. All came out piping hot and my sticky toffee pudding was delicious. I could go on but you must try this place. Lots of choice at fair prices and plenty on the plate.

We needed a place big enough for a party of 12 for my mum's 80th birthday. From the start the staff were amazing with emailing me backwards and forwards with all the questions I had. We had our night there last night (12th jan) and had the bonus of a big room to ourselves ensuring the kids running around didn't annoy other customers. The waiting staff were amazing, really helpful and polite. The food was fantastic also. I cannot thank them all with the amazing service and care that they have us, ensuring my mum had a fantastic birthday surrounded with 3 generations. Thank you all so much.

A good traditional pub, nice choices of pub grub on menu and friendly helpful staff. We went on a midweek lunch time on a cold wet day. Only a few other customers in, but the pub was warm and welcoming and the food was freshly prepared and good. Will be going again.

Fantastic little pub with a great choice across the menu’s and a superb team behind the bar. Everyone has been so welcoming and friendly. The locals are a good laugh and easy to get along with too.

Food was plentiful + tasted good, waitress was attentive + pleasant, local pub atmosphere with many regulars enjoying an evening out. Was a xmas menu, next time I will try the regular menu which also looks good. Remains a true local + great food is a bonus.

Had a family Christmas meal here today. The staff were really pleasant and attentive. The food was all delicious and very generous portions. The prices can't be argued with....£21.99 for 2 courses or £25.99 for 3 courses. Booking is essential.

Didn't eat at The Old Crown but it looked nice. Good atmosphere, friendly staff and the owners have made the pub a really nice place to spend an afternoon.

Great local pub, good selection of beers and ever changing guest ales. Lots of different gins and rums if that's your thing. Very friendly staff and good pub grub, the burgers are huge.

We visited the Old Crown and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the Roast dinner with Beef and Gammon and I just wish I could have eaten it all over again. The staff were all friendly and accommodating and we didn't wait long at all for our food, even though the restaurant was fairly busy. They have lots of midweek offers from what I saw and I am definitely going to come back to try some! The Homemade desserts were also really tasty and fresh.

Not a great place much better places to eat and better service across the road at The Rose Inn and regular entertainment and friendly people

Went here on our last night in Stroud for a pub meal. I have to say the prices on drinks were fantastic (not many places you can get a double G&T for £4.60!) The servers were really lovely and attentive throughout. The food was okay - I did enjoy my pulled BBQ pork cheeseburger! Portions were huge which again was good value for money. I definitely think this is a locals pub which might be for you if you like a lively, loud atmosphere. If you are like me, you might find it quite overwhelming. Can't fault the place itself in terms of the staff and we'll be back for some drinks!

Excellent food, good atmosphere and great staff. Booked a table for 5 over email all sorted. Arrived and had a nice table in the bar. Service was brilliant with the staff being very helpful and attentive and ensuring that orders were taken quickly. The food arrived and was excellent, both starters and mains were plentiful and full of flavour. Will without doubt be eating here again and popping in for a drink. Also has multiple outside gardens with a large children's play area.

Over the past year the crown has gone from strength to strength. I couldn’t recommend more highly. Food is classic, but it’s well made and fresh. Over the year I’ve had pies, fish and chips, burgers, steaks and they have all been spot on. Better still, the beer. It is pristine and very well kept and reasonably priced. Large kids play area outside makes this spot unmissable for family’s too. My kids are made to feel very welcome in the busy pub

We were staying locally for the weekend and discovered this pub having walked to Tesco to pick up toilet roll. We were told it was the best pub by a lady outside the shop and so followed their new smart sign and we’re not disappointed. The new owners are lovely and making a really go of it. We walked in and the pub immediately felt welcoming. As a group of 8 we managed to find a table and the the locals even moved to another table so we could all sit together. The blush rose is really nice and the boys had some good hearty beers. We didn’t eat but the food which was passing us from the kitchen looked amazing. We chatted to the bar staff who were super nice and even went the extra mile and found us a taxi to take us back up the hill and found the log man who was sat behind us (one of the group who moved) he drove some of our party back to the house and delivered us some logs on the way. This pub is destined for greatness with the amazing management and the lovely locals supporting it. Next time we are in the area we will be back.

The Atmosphere is great and food is very good staff are wonderful

It’s 9 months since we last visited ,it was good then but it’s even better now .Wide varied freshly cooked menu to suit any ones taste .The food quality is spot on and we had clean plates all round . 2 of us had the bacon cheese burger and we both agreed that it was the nicest tastiest burger we had eaten .The staff are all very friendly and attentive.Great atmosphere in the pub with the log burner going adding to the all round great evening we had .

We recently moved near by and so happy to have found this pub. It's perfect for a quick, very reasonable bite to eat bonus the dog is allowed. The food is lovely for pub grub and the service is fab. The Welsh bar lady is always friendly. There's a good size play area for the kids.

4 of us dined on a busy Saturday evening .The restaurant was very busy and the buzzing atmosphere was great .Cannot fault the quality and choice of food available ,the staff were great very attentive and up for a bit of banter .Everyone enjoyed their meals ,starters ,pie ,sausage and steak dishes all cooked spot on and clean plates all round .We also loved the crockery and the presentation was excellent.Couple of bottles of wine and happy days all in all great food served well for a reasonable price .We wish you every success in the future and will return very soon

Plenty of parking outside the pub. We ate in the light and airy dining area adjacent to the kids play area. It was pleasant to eat in there. The food itself was a mixed bag. The vegetables, gravy, stuffing, roast potatoes etc were cooked very nicely and tasted really great. However, the meat was very poor. The beef was rare and bloody in the middle. I selected a combination of the two meats on offer ,( beef and chicken,) to have with my meal and got a slice of each. The Chef carved the meats personally and put them on your plate. I really don’t think he could have cut the meat any thinner. The chicken tasted nice but the beef was stringy and bloody. A bit disappointing for that type of dinner. Waitresses were all good and gave service with a smile.

Very good carvery food was excellent l would go back again

We went on sunday for a roast. First of all the negatives, On approach to the front door there was an outside table with a full ashtray on it and it was still there an hour later when we left, the paper tablecloth hadn't been changed from the previous use as it had crumbs on it and when our drinks came a large coke and a pineapple juice both had ice in it but wasn't asked on ordering if we wanted ice. Now for the plus the roast beef was perfect, the yorkshire pudding was huge and not heavy. Good choice of vegetables and lots of gravy available which you helped yourselves to veg and gravy. The horseradish sauce had lumps in it but in a good way and was strong tasting. There were a lot of peas on the floor around the serving area which the chef did pick up and throw them away. I found it good value for money and will go back again. Well done to the new people running the crown

Popped over for lunch on Saturday and had a delicious, locally sourced veggie pie. Sadly doing dry January so didn’t check what was on tap, but hopefully when we next visit there will be a local ale on. The bar area is looking much brighter after the refurb!

First time visiting since new covid rules. Nice to see the option of hand written slips or the app for track and trace details. Staff happy to take orders verbally. Had the Sunday carvery served between 12-2pm, an orderly per table help your self. Plenty of seating in bar and conservatory. As well as outdoor seating. Sanitise stations and clear walk way system. For a local village pub excellent selection of spirits.

We did wait a long time but there was an unexpected large group before us all wanting steaks.Homemade burgers and steak and ale pie were delicious. Clean plates all round though I couldn't manage all my chips. Great value - especially with the eat out scheme. Will be back.

Went to the Hands off carvery today, booked in. All staff safety conscious, wearing protective gear. Carvary was amazing, you asked for what you wanted and they put it on your plate. Well worth a visit, lovely country pub, with very friendly welcoming staff.

Went here for lunch last sunday and had a very tasty meal. There were 3 meats to choose from and lots of veg available. There were yorkshire pudding and stuffing balls. The yorkshire pudding was perfect, just crispy enough on the outside and fluffy on the inside unlike frozen ones. You could have all 3 meats if you wanted and they were decent slices too (not thin slices). I will go back for another sunday lunch soon. Also their bar meals are good too.
