What can I say! We had pizzas for our party at Waterloo House 50 of them!! Paddy was so helpful with our queries and nothing was too much trouble. On the night a lovely member of staff from the Olive Tree delivered our pizzas, they were absolutely delicious and everyone commented on how great they were. Thankyou Paddy and all your team helping to make our night so special.

We had an amazing night at The Olive Tree in Nailsworth to celebrate my husbands 50th. We had a lovely private upstairs room which was perfect for our group size of 19. The service was outstanding- non intrusive, friendly and professional keeping 1 step ahead all the time anticipating every need. The food was wonderful - our guests were so impressed. Amazing bread and olives, pizzas and delicious mains like roast pork and dolcelatte chicken. Dealing with Paddy was fantastic, everything was set up beautifully in advance. Highly recommended for parties and all our family and friends were saying they are super keen to come back to the restaurant. Incredible evening, thank-you team Olive Tree!!

Paddy, Laura and the team provided a wonderful evening for an 80th Birthday Celebration at The Olive Tree. There were 23 of us and we enjoyed the privacy of the upstairs room for the evening. Communication beforehand was efficient and helpful and they were happy for us to bring balloons and a cake along to add to the evening. Service is impeccable with each person's order being served by name so it was super easy for everyone. The food was delicious, the millionaire's cheesecake was a hit! We have had a number of celebrations here and I would always choose it as a great option for lovely family get togethers. Thanks to everyone at The Olive Tree.

I've been meaning to come here for a while & will definitely be returning. Lovely little place friendly & polite staff. Just had a light bite meal this time but it was tasty & nicely presented. Look forward to visiting again....soon.

Completely delicious haddock risotto and warm lemon drizzle cake. But the playlist left a lot to be desired - too many depressing loud rocky men with croaky voices!!

We live near the Olive Tree and we are so fortunate to have such an excellent restaurant nearby. We are regulars and really admire the proprietor, Paddy, who always greets us happily. Such a genuine nice guy. He trains all his staff well, and we have never had a bad experience - the food is always delicious (our recent visit no exception). The menu is great -always plenty of choices for all tastes. Easy to park opposite in Morrison's car park in the evening, but there's a time limit during the day.

This is simply an excellent restaurant: the food was very good indeed - a simple menu, well-cooked, and the service was excellent - friendly, up-beat and inviting. It's a family restaurant and it deserves to continue to do very well.

5th time back....this wonderful restaurant just continually delivers excellent food and the best service every time...tried others locally and they just don't compete!....so glad to find it since moving here a few months ago... Highly recommend.

First time having lunch in this delightful bistro. Food was excellent and all cooked to order, with good menu choice including vegetarian options. Can recommend the moussaka, risotto and homemade pizzas, especially The Ladder. Above all, they have the best cheesecake we’ve ever tasted. Staff extremely friendly and helpful creating a very relaxed atmosphere. A wonderful family lunch and definitely in line for a revisit.

Stopped off here on our way home from the Cotswolds to have a birthday breakfast for my partner. Excellent pleasant staff, good food and service.

Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to eat out whilst in Nailsworth. The food was super tasty and the prices are very affordable.

In this world of failing customer service, I was very happy to experience the Olive Tree. We were welcomed with gusto! and the service was friendly and helpful. The staff were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. There was a mix up with the booking which was dealt with with honourably and with humour. AND the food was excellent. I cannot recommend the Olive Tree enough. Go there!

I have been to The Olive Tree a few times and always had lovely service and food. My only complaint for my visit yesterday was the size of the piece of quiche we had with are salads. It was £15.95 and for that amount of money I would have expected a bigger piece.

What can i say, this place is fabulous. The food , the drinks, the atmosphere and most of all the wonderful staff. Best experience in a long time. Keep doing what you’re doing because it works. Thank you for a lovely evening 🥰

Great welcome from Paddy, chose to sit in the courtyard as it was such a lovely evening. Varied choice on the menu - a lovely meal which we very much enjoyed, staff friendly and helpful. We've eaten here several times before and will be back again and again!

Booked for breakfast for 5 of us. Cannot fault The Olive Tree. 10/10 for food, service, ambience. They were very busy but we still felt very well looked after. Always excellent. We're very lucky to be so close to this 'at home' style restaurant with 'home' cooking and the staff are always totally efficient, friendly, happy and pleased to help at all times. Wine is also good. All this at totally reasonable prices compared to so many other restaurants in our area.

What a lovely atmosphere there was in the restaurant. The staff were really friendly and chatted away. Coffee was delicious and the tea cake was really nice and fresh. I would definitely recommend going there, I will go back and have lunch next time.

We took my wife's cousin here for lunch when we visited her recently. She and I both had the mackerel fillets, which were very nice, and my wife had moussaka which was also very good and a very large portion. A lovely place to eat with friendly, welcoming staff.

We were drawn into this place for a quick hot chocolate and slice of cake and were greeted by Paddy, who gave us the warmest welcome ever!! Literally this quick stop changed our entire day! We will definitely be coming back! Cake and hot chocolate were perfect, as was the seating and overall atmosphere of the place.

The Olive Tree never fails to deliver delicious home made, clean, fresh food, but their new afternoon tea is above and beyond. Setting - tick, originality of flavours - tick, feeling of specialness (is that a word?) - tick, tick. Highly recommend for any reason, but would definitely impress for a special occasion. My friend was elated.

Afternoon Tea with friend. What can I say but just wow! The food was stunning, a whole cake stand filled with goodies per person. The service we received was fantastic One of the best afternoons. Can highly recommend, and will definitely be visiting again.

Delightful spot - I always have delicious food and a very relaxing eating experience here. I’ve been meaning to write a review for a while - I don’t eat here often but every time I dine here I realise what a little gem it is. They are delivering in spades what other enterprises attempt to do but often fail to realise. The food is always very tasty and nicely put together with an interesting and varied menu and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. My friend chose the lasagne but only wanted a small portion so they very kindly split it over two plates which they then also did for desert as we both were very tempted but couldn’t manage a full desert each at lunchtime. Very thoughtful, very flexible and much appreciated. Thank you so much and I’ll hope to come back here much more often!

I have visited a few times since moving to the are just over a year ago (once for lunch, twice for dinner) and have enjoyed my visit every time. The service is always friendly and welcoming, and the staff do everything they can to make the meal perfect. There is plenty of variety on the menu, and everything that I have tried has been delicious. In the month between my two most recent visits the menu had already been tweaked slightly, so it looks like they are making continuous improvements with the added benefit being there is always something new to try. The atmosphere inside is cosy, relaxing, and comfortable, which is perfect for almost any type of visit. I visited with family when they came to visit, and we intend to come again next time they are in the area. More recently, I took a friend here while visiting the Nailsworth Christmas market and she said that she would come back in future, too. Thank you to everyone at the Olive Tree, and I look forward to coming back soon!

Went to the olive tree last night , we had a large family group of family and friends taking up all of the upstairs room . What a fantastic night , we had prebooked food what a fabulous choice of food . Service outstanding, food amazing . Every person said what lovely food . Thank you Paddy and team you made my pre birthday treat very special .

Staying with chums in the area & enjoyed a fabulous evening at this little gem of a place. Paddy coped really well with our very loud table of 10, he is super efficient, the food was excellent & I had one of the best pizza's I have ever had, everyone on the table had something different & we all agreed he & food were great. Well done Paddy if we are ever passing we will definitely call in again.

A sunny mid-November day saw us ‘take a spin’ up into the Cotswolds. We had passed through this, bottom of a wooded valley market town, earlier this year; and we had promised ourselves then that we would visit on another occasion: today was just that occasion. It was coffee time, too early for lunch, so we called in here as part of our walk around the town centre. The café was quite busy, but we were able to get a table that had been later reserved for lunch. That gave us an hour; certainly long enough for a coffee. We were shown to our table and the waiter soon attended to take our order. We ordered two Americano Coffees with hot milk. I had spotted a plate of fine-looking mince pies on the servery whilst walking through to our table, so I decided to order one to have with my coffee. Whilst we waited for our coffee we perused the menu, and what was an impressive wine list. I was very tempted to try the local Woodchester Valley Culver Hill white, which was available by a 125ml, 175ml or 250ml glass, or by the bottle. I didn’t do so for any other reason than my Partner, as duty driver, would have been unable to join me. The coffee soon arrived followed a minute-or-so later by the mince pie, with lovely clotted cream. The mince pie was divine; obviously home-made with a beautifully soft crumbly pastry; encasing, we were later told, was home-made mince with alcohol. Absolutely beautiful and I could have had a half a dozen, and called that ‘lunch’. The coffee was superb. We had seen a sign saying that the coffee was roasted by a independent coffee roasters based in Ross-on-Wye (only an hour’s drive away from here and 20 minutes longer from home). The coffee here was lived-up to it’s by-line (Rich, Dark, Caramelised). On our visit to pay at the servery we asked about the coffee to find out more and the café sold by the bag (of beans). The bag was a kilo and probably more than we really wanted at any one time, but we were actually fresh out of beans at home so £32 poorer we continued our tour of Nailsworth. We did enjoy our visit here to this café and we will return and plan for something a little more substantial. Service was very good and prompt. The café is open Monday to Saturday for lunch, but on Friday and Saturday it is also open for dinner. The thought of early dinner here on a summer evening is very appealing, so we’ll be back next June.

Such a cute and blissful restaurant. The Olive Tree has a cosy and warming atmosphere. The staff are so lovely, friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. The best part was the food, I had the Olive tree pizza and it was the best pizza I have ever had, with out question. Will definitely come here again!

We visited on Saturday evening to celebrate a friends birthday! The restaurant was warm, inviting and had a lovely atmosphere. The staff were absolutely lovely, very friendly, knowledgeable and couldn’t do enough for you. The food, well what can I say, it was delicious and I’m the fussy eater, thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend the duck linguine! What a lovely little gem in Nailsworth, how lovely to be back. I had a lovely time here last week and had coffee and cake very good price at £2 and lovely service. I will definitely be back to visit soon thank you.

Went with a bunch of mates and the visit couldn’t have gone better. Delicious range of fresh, tasty pizzas, mozzarella salads and sun dried crostini’s served in the cosy and welcoming covered patio. I particularly enjoyed the duck pizza and the one with chillis. Yum. And then there were the cakes. The chocolate one was fab but I have to say I’ve never tasted a finer lemon drizzle. Friendly and attentive staff. Very highly recommended. Can’t wait to return.

This was our first night out with friends since lock down rules were relaxed. Food was bloody awful. Had the duck pizza which was like a child’s size and bought from Morrison’s over the road. It was burnt and needed a Chainsaw to cut it. Definitely not home made. The desert menu was a joke. If you like squirts cream then you will love this place. Bill came to £300 for 6 people. I would have rather spent £300 on food and wine and cooked a better meal myself. Don’t waste your money on this place. !!!!

Luke warm, insipid coffee...despite the many thousands of uk coffee shops....this like many others can't produce a good cup of coffee. Depressingly poor....unfortunately the British put up with it.

Whether your visit is for breakfast, brunch, lunch or later, Paddy and staff give you a very warm welcome. Food is always delicious. We recently had breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon and, two days ago we called in for coffee and cheese scones, which were absolutely super! Sitting outside under the canopy is extremely safe and dry!

Lovely lunch sitting under the canopy, wine and cider... delicious pizza and burrito followed by Oreo cheesecake which was amazing followed by lovely frothy coffees.... Paddy as usual offered outstanding, personable service.... will be back... Cant recommend this lovely eatery enough.... so lovely, thank you.

Wonderful lunch at The Olive Tree. Paddy and the lovely waitress who served us were so warm and friendly, clearly delighted to be doing what they love doing again. The food was great and we were blessed to be able to sit in the sun.

I recommend this restaurant for attention to keeping everything organised, maintaining cleanliness, and a reassuring attention to detail.Their small business offers a good choice of home made and delicious food - had shredded duck salad, french onion soup with cheese and spring onion scone, followed by beautifully light bakewell tart, chocolate cake and decent coffee. My friend and I will be eating here again!

Stopped off for coffee this morning was offered menu, food only, no drinks menu, later discovered online that they offer smoothies, my daughter would have had one of these had we known.I am a teacake addict, I ordered one and a coffee. The teacake arrived slightly over toasted and had no taste to it whatsoever. Texture was fine, I like them crispy on the edges, but it was so disappointing.Nailsworth has plenty of cafes to choose from, will try another next time.

We visited mid-week for a celebratory meal. We wanted quality, freshly made and interesting choices and we were not disappointed. All the food was excellent and it was hard to choose what we wanted most. We opted for a mix of starters, they were all delicious. We then decided on a mix of pizzas (but these are not standard pizzas, the toppings are fresh, tasty and difficult to choose between!) One of the group had the home made quiche, it was a good size and very tasty. The desserts were really fresh and tasty. Although we ate more courses than we might normally do (the food was so nice!) we enjoyed the amounts and left feeling satisfied without feeling over-full. We put this down to the quality of the food because the portions were good. For drinks we had a combination of gin, wine and beer. There was a good selection and helpful advice. The management and service team are very friendly, we had a laugh and pleasant conversation. The restaurant is well set up with Covid measures and these don't impact on one's enjoyment. The atmosphere is smart, relaxed and attractive. Overall, I really recommend this great restaurant and we will definitely be returning; to work through the menu!

Good gluten free options. Pleasant and efficient staff. Great Greek salad. For its size, Nailsworth is well served with restaurants/cafes, and this is the best. Recommended.

Plenty of outdoor seating, I sat outside in the lovely autumn sun. Friendly service and very good coffee and breakfast.

We stumbled across The Olive Tree when looking for somewhere to sit outside for a drink, we took a seat and the owner came over and said they were currently closed. We asked if he could recommend somewhere else and he kindly said we could stay and offered us a drink. We booked a table there for dinner later that evening and it didn’t disappoint. We had 3 courses and everything was absolutely delicious, and the wine was also lovely. Paddy and his staff are so friendly and very enthusiastic about the food. To start we shared the garlic feta & thyme focaccia and halloumi chips with homemade chilli jam (amazing), for mains my boyfriend loved the seafood linguine and I had the pork, then dessert he had the chocolate brownie and I had the cheesecake which was cookie dough flavour. Everything was amazing, really fresh homemade food but presented beautifully. The restaurant itself is lovely and cosy with candlelit tables. They’ve made it really safe for COVID but we felt really comfortable whist there. Very much recommend a visit if you’re in the nearby area!

We are staying in the area and luckily for us we found The Olive Tree !We felt Covid safe with good processes in place.I would have loved to have tried the pizza but felt they were expensive for just a 9 inch main course.Otherwise we had an excellent meal, nice and hot and in a nice atmosphere.Staff were lovely, courteous and helpful too.Would certainly recommend if you are staying in the area.

This was our first meal ‘out’ since lockdown and we were suitably impressed with the precautions the staff took to ensure everyone was safe. The starters (I had cod goujons and my husband had the hoisin chicken wings) were hot and tasty. The portions for all courses were generous but not overly so and all the food was beautifully cooked and seasoned well. There was still plenty of choice and will definitely return next time we are in the area, if only to try one of their delicious looking pizzas.n

We decided to treat ourselves to a takeaway lunch from The Olive Tree today - for a little family celebration. Wow - the food was just as good as eating in - I had the quiche of the day with potato wedges and salad - I enjoyed recreating this great Olive Tree meal in the comfort of home and it tasted just as good. We also ordered the Salmon Linguini, Pulled Shoulder of Lamb and Duck Salad - all of them absolutely delicious and finished off with the sublime cheesecake. This is the way to go - look forward to enjoying our favourite Olive Tree meals this winter either at The Olive Tree or at home - definitely recommended - thanks Paddy and team.

we were on holiday in a village not far away and had planned to eat one evening but never got round to it .On the day we left our cottage stopped for breakfast we both had the little breakfast sausage bacon egg baked beans and toast the sausage was very nice herby and tasty plus we had a latte and tea all the girls were friendly and polite recommend

Unfortunately no decaf coffee or tea but that was due to deliveries (not their fault) other than that the food was very tasty.

First time here at the olive tree and was not disappointed! Quaint little restaurant with lovely friendly staff. We came in for breakfast and it was worth the 3 mile drive. They must tell me where they get their sausages!

Had lunch at the olive tree Nailsworth a restaurant I have meaning to visit but just had not got around to. Why have I left it so long a warm welcome from the staff who were friendly and efficient. The food simply delicious was spoilt for choice the menu had a great selection. I settled on the houllomi fritters with chilli jam. Shredded duck tagliatelle with hoisin sauce. For dessert the most creamy cheese cake with toffee apple sauce. The meal was a delight from start to finish.

Beautiful town centre charming old cottage with additional garden dining area complete with olive tree!. Mediterranean style food served in hearty portions. Had supper (spiced lamb) and breakfast and both delicious. It’s the staff that make this place tho. Very bubbly and cheerful so much so you can’t help but smile and genuinely enthusiastic service. Breakfast was particularly noteworthy. Don’t try and book by email tho as they don’t appear to read them. But otherwise. Fabulous. Thankyou!

Had a super meal here with my wife. The restaurant itself is quaint and welcoming to the eye. The food was cooked to perfection, amazing taste, fresh and presented well. Would really recommendthe pan fried pork WOW!. The staff are very attentive with a good knowledge of the menu aswell being really friendly. Great night out was had.

Really great service and delicious home made food. Mum had spiced soup with cheese scone (both home made) and i had club sandwich. Very obviously high quality ingredients Staff very happy and obliging Really good all round, and £10 each including a drink.... awesome

On the sunny terrace, early Saturday morning, watching the world go by, we enjoyed a bacon sandwich and smoked salmon and eggs (Edinburgh style), complemented with excellent coffee. The Olive Tree deserves the support of its regular and occasional clientele and always delivers excellent service.

We had a delicious takeaway afternoon tea from The Olive Tree. It was excellent value for money; with plenty of cakes, sandwiches and quiche provided. They also catered for the requested dietary needs, providing a great Chocolate alternative for one of the boxes. Could not have asked for more, faultless!

Very enjoyable lunch sitting upstairs in the historic building. The staff were very helpful and the restaurant appeared COVID secure. I had the vegetable spaghetti which was excellent with a Stroud ale. They also offer a range of pizzas, fish and meat dishes along with sandwich’s for lunch. Great atmosphere and lovely lunch spot.

Have braved through COVID and floods. Still going strong. Still my favourite go to place in Nailsworth. Food is always of a high standard. Served with a smile. My lovely friend treated me to the moussaka. Social distancing managed well in small cosy premises.

First time at the Olive tree for a while. My wife and I went for lunch today and enjoyed a truly excellent meal.We are still in pandemic territory but the arrangements were first class.The food was of the best we have eaten for some time The Goujons starter was delicious.Our main courses were also terrific King Prawn and salmon for my wife and the slow cooked lamb for me.The staff are quick helpful and cheerful. Will not live it so long to visit again

The food was really good. The place is small and cosy. I personally likely the atmosphere in there. We were sat upstairs as I believe there is not too much room downstairs. The staff were really nice.

Took advantage of the Eat out to Help Out offer with a friend. We both chose the shredded duck salad, which was served very promptly. The helping size was good and the staff very attentive. Thank you!

After several visits the Olive Tree never disappoints. The owner and staff are excellent,the food smells and tastes great. We have tasted so much off the menu which always leaves us having difficulty with choosing the next meal. Nailsworth is fortunate to have you.

Service was first class and food was equally as good. Went twice once at lunch and once in the evening. Sat outside both times tables prepared, sanitised and suitably distanced made you feel safe. Food well presented very tasty and reasonably priced for the quality. We were on holiday and this was the first restaurant following lock down. Wished it was in our home town would go there a lot.

5 friends met for coffee and cakes today and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Very friendly service from Paddy and staff and everywhere spotlessly clean and well set out. We sat outside in the sunshine for a late lunch at 1.30 pm. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. We ordered club sandwiches, one was vegetarian, with halloumi and roasted vegetables and the other mature cheddar and ham. Both absolutely delicious, with attractive presentation. Thank you, Paddy and staff for a great experience.

Decided to visit Nailsworth as close to home and came across The Olive Tree. Just wanted a reasonably priced simple lunch and this was perfect. The waitress who served us was polite and engaging and made us feel comfortable and was aware of the Covid rules without making it intrusive. Food was excellent and plentiful. I would highly recommend The Olive Tree and would go out of my way to return here. Apologies as I didn't get the name of the waitress to compliment her personally in this review.

Enjoying our first holiday after lockdown in Nailsworth. So lovely to be able to eat out again. The Olive Tree was a delightful experience. We felt completely safe all safe distancing in place. We have been pretty cautious about venturing out anywhere (not keen on pubs, yet) but we've been to the Olive Tree twice since it reopened and feel very confident about all of the safety measures put in place. The owner, Paddy, has really gone the extra mile to protect customers - and has implemented an ingenious traffic light system to show if a table has been sanitised after the previous customer. Great food, too! We've had breakfast and lunch so far, can't fault it. Freshly prepared, local produce and great coffee.

Had a takeaway from The Olive Tree last night. I had the Pork and bacon in cream sauce, my wife had the warm duck salad. Both were really tasty. The Restaurant looks good with well spaced tables and will be tempted to eat in here as the Covid precautions look good. A treat for us. Top grub, welcome back Paddy

We were so pleased to return to this lovely restaurant. We decided to go for breakfast. We were immediately put at ease by all the safety measures put in place. There was hand sanitizer at the door, slips to record your name and contact number with hand sanitizer after using pen. On entering the main restaurant there were screens and suitably distanced tables. A great system of cards on table to say if it had been cleaned between customers and was ready for use The food was delicious and service was excellent. I felt very comfortable visiting and will certainly return

This was our first visit to the Olive Tree following the easing of lockdown restrictions and the re-opening of restaurants. Paddy has implemented a rigorous anti-viral regime and we felt very relaxed and safe eating in the Olive Tree. As always, the food and service were very good and it was nice to see that the new physical barriers put in place to protect both diners and staff have done nothing to reduce the wonderful ambience of this characterful building.

So happy to come back to this gem of a place for a family lunch. Safety restrictions all in place, very sensible approach. Delicious lunch with the family (almost lovely as usual olives 😊) - everything was spot on, totally recommend!!!

Paddy and the brilliant Olive Tree team have provided yet another great experience. Absolutely delicious pizzas to take away......and how they are adopting to the current COV-19 crisis is so admirable - thanks guys. EVERYONE please give them a go or if you’ve been before you know the food is exquisite so why not have a Take Away to support them in these challenging times!

Lovely meal for take out in the midst of restaurant closings. Had pizza, moussaka, vegetable tangine and various appetisers. The risotto is delicious as were the mussels. Great flavour and their puddings are amazing!

Arrived with my walking group of 12 without notice and tge owner could not have been more helpful. Table for 12 upstairs, good coffee and great home made cakes. Bakewell tart exceptional.

The Olive Tree is a real find. The food is simply amazing - you can tell there's real pride in the chef's work. Our waitress Maddie made us feel very welcome, was friendly and professional. The decor is quirky and cosy. We had such a lovely time, we came back the next evening! Would highly recommend.

We had a delicious lunch in this quiet, friendly restaurant. There was a good selection on the menu and great food and service. The Eton Mess cheesecake was the best cheesecake I have ever tasted - superb! We will definitely return. Thank you.

A quiet anniversary meal for two. Wonderful setting, fabulous host and sumptuous food. Perfect in every way.

This honestly is such an amazing restaurant. The people are beyond helpful and welcoming, the food is incredible and the place itself has a quaint charm and character. No matter if you want Breakfast, lunch or dinner this is the place to go. We have celebrated my brothers 30th here and it was a phenomenal dinner with great service and a lovely atmosphere in the upstairs area. And today the best lunch to celebrate my grandads 82nd. I can personally reccomend the sea bass as I kid you not its Sensational, you will not be disappointed.

Whilst I enjoyed the meal at The Olive Tree I must say that it was not quite what I expected. Not sure if we dined there on an "off day"?The menu is interesting - offering great expectations.When my selection arrived it very much resembled something pre-prepaired that may have come from a local supermarket.Hmmm ... like I suggested, it may have been an off day?
