Excellent beer and very reasonably priced food.

Super friendly staff, lovely old fashioned proper pub building and really reasonable prices too. Nice to have a tasty meal and a drink without breaking the bank. We will be back

Have frequented the Star many times over the years, but last week we visited for their steak night and it didn't disappoint - lovely cut of steak and a good wobbly panna cotta 😆

Yeah Sunday parking was a little hard there was something on in the church.apart from that ok.there was 9 of us . couldn't fault the service or food.all fresh veg. Need to book.it was full in other parts of the pub.

This is one of my favourite pubs in the world. It's become our local since my parent moved to the area recently. Really is one of the best pubs in the UK in my opinion.

What a wonderful pub with fantastic food. We had the Sunday dinner with home made Yorkshires and the sweets are home made and superb.

Great little tavern at the end of a side road off the High Street in idyllic Wotton under Edge. Traditional and a little bit quirky with it's huge Gorilla statue in the corner of the lovely courtyard garden area that must surely have been surplus to requirements at Longleat Safari Park? Good food at very reasonable prices and great selection of beers, ales and ciders. Highly recommend taking a 2-3 hour walk along the Cotswold Way up to the Tyndale Monument at North Nibley, the views are stunning. Then returning to Wotton for a pint and a bite to eat at this charming pub.

Lovely pub, good prices and friendly staff. The food can be a bit disappointing, the burgers especially, but the chips and wraps are good. I was unfortunate in my order, but will be willing to go again and order something different to eat!

Some staff are rude, specifically at younger customers. Drinks available are good and reasonably priced.

Visited The Star last Sunday for a birthday roast with the family. All said how nice it was, including my 98 year old mum! Great attention and serving by Faye, who, along with Stuart, are great assets to the continuing success of this establishment. Will be back yet again!

I have lived in Wotton under edge for 48 years and this was the first time on this establishment, very impressed by the ambience of the place, we ordered a light bit lunch, which anything but ""light "" in size, a baguette with bacon, masses of bacon, shared a bowl of chips with my fellow eating companion "" which was a huge bowl"" All in all a very great value for money. After reading previous reviews decided to stop here for lunch on the way to Dorset. Staff were very welcoming and our fish and chips were excellent. Will definitely visit again if we are in the area.

Friendly pub with plenty of comfy seating. Chilled out ‘proper pub’ vibe and the pizzas on Friday and Saturday night are incredible. They do vegan ones (thank God, because Wotton is short on good vegan food) and they’re absolutely gorge. Dog friendly with a massive fibreglass gorilla in the beer garden. What’s not to love?

Gorgeous roast dinner and pudding it was a last minute in the area decision and we weren't disappointed the foods five star and the bar staff and waitresses were absolutely fab thank you it was the best roast dinner,

Lovely place to be great atmosphere

We found this pub whilst on our trip away to Wotton and it was amazing! The place is huge and has a lovely beer garden. They weren’t serving food so they said they were more than happy for us to grab some food at a takeaway and eat in their pub which I thought was so so lovely. The land lady & her daughter were absolutely amazing!!! Really lovely, genuine people. As we weren’t from the area we struggled to get a taxi, they dropped us to our air bnb after closing time! Honestly such lovely people and a lovely pub - thank you so much xx

Best pub in Wooton Under Edge. Fabulous outside area, diverse clientele and pun events to kick things off. Recommended.

Very friendly welcome to this fine old pub, choice of two cask ales, smallish interior but extended by canopy style extension to rear courtyard. The other side of this is a very comfortable area in the sun or under shades. Well worth seeking out.

What a little gem! The selection of beers was good and the food was excellent with the most reasonably priced menu I've seen in a long time. You can park in the public car park round the back which was free for 3 hours. All areas were clean and the tables all had little signs stating they have been sanitised. Very cosy, old fashioned pub with very friendly staff. I couldn't fault it.

Always a good pint of ale to be had in here. Friendly locals and kind staff who look after you. The pubs divided in to microclimates: separate areas for sport on tv, sofa, large beer garden with some cool gigs, twin aspect bar, and rooms for games and large to tuck away. Not that I do well at all, but the pub quiz is well written and accessible, with free entry, a random team getting free drinks, and usually a free chip butty to finish.

I call this the cosiest pub in Wotton. The traditional exposed beams and stone contributes to that feeling of nostalgia and warmth together with the welcoming people in a town that could be described as straight out of a English postcard.

Originalmente estábamos buscando un café, ya que queríamos un bocadillo, pero ninguno servía comida ya que era un sábado, y para ser sincero, me alegro, ya que encontramos esta pequeña joya. Está escondido en una calle lateral justo al lado de la carretera principal.

Called in for late lunch after visiting Newark park. Just managed to order as food orders finish at 2.00pm.Very good sensibly priced menu serving good food. Nice clean toilets. No credit cards accepted.

Después de una caminata de 8 millas a lo largo del Camino Cotswold, nuestro grupo de 4 estaba listo para algo de comida y un par de pintas; así que dimos una vuelta por Wotton - under - Edge y encontramos el Star Inn. Fue un verdadero placer: muy amable y acogedor. Pedimos 4 comidas y una ronda de bebidas: 2 pintas de "Bob" (una cerveza realmente agradable), 2 mitades de cerveza y cuatro curries de carne - el especial del día en el momento de nuestra visita. El precio por todo lo que era 32. 70 que pensamos que era una excelente relación calidad-precio. Cuando llegó la comida no nos decepcionó: porciones generosas, con mini panes naan también, toda la comida estaba muy rica. En general, un encantador pub tradicional que ofrece una excelente relación calidad-precio: si se encuentra en Wotton - under - Edge después de una caminata por el Camino Cotswold, le recomendamos que visite el Star Inn.

Wizard of Oz was absolutely amazing. Small unique venue. Amazing production acting and staff running the place. Went back the second day in a row it was so good!

Lovely hosting of the local rugby team. It did not affect the normal patrons. Well managed.

Stopped by for lunch as we were working in the area. Lovely food, very reasonably priced and a very nice place in the whole. We will be back again.
