The best restaurants in South Somerset South West

Purely by chance, we came across The Old Pharmacy at about 2.30 in the afternoon. We had a fantastic meal - one of the best that we recall - and we do enjoy our food. The menu was ideal for sharing plates and the open kitchen is right in front of you as you enter the restaurant which sows great and very well deserved confidence. The service was friendly, efficient and professional and we were made really welcome. The whole experience exceeded expectations dramatically and we shall surely return!

Great coffee and such a good atmosphere. Friendly staff and I love the fun and positive decor everywhere. I always leave Bread feeling happy!

Delicious lunch and excellent service from Iryna.

Not one to often leave a bad review but.. we ordered a few things, sides were ok, but we ordered buratta and instead got a solid mozzarella ball, not a drop off creaminess inside. And the purple Additionally I had a ceaser salad that had about 50g of chicken on the plate, some romaine lettuce and a sprinkle of crispy bacon. The "ceaser dressing" was just mayonnaise, with maybe a hint of mustard which was shocking to see. Extremely disappointed with the food and the fact they used fancy words in the menu, presumably to entice you, and then didn't deliver. Only reason I am not giving a one star is cause the server was apologetic and agreed to refund us fir the two terrible meals.

A lovely country pub with superb food - and fine homemade ginger beer! Beautiful views over countryside. Very limited parking.

Had a lovely lunch. It's so nice to find a pub that does proper fresh and interesting food, not just stuff from a catering company. Portion size is nice too, not overwhelmingly large but high quality so feel well fed but not stuffed. Also good flat cider.

I decided to go for lunch yesterday particularly as they are pet friendly so it was perfect for me. My friend and I had lunch, it was nice and quiet, the food was great and it was a good atmosphere. Tip for improving although you may already have. I didn't see a dog bowl and some treats on the counter would be a great addition as I forgot mine!!! Otherwise, we will be returning. Thanks.

Not many in the pub but we booked a table for steak night couldn't see anyone else eating but they had run-out of stilton sauce and no strawberries for the eaten mess won't be rushing there again spoilt our anniversary 😞

Very pleasant stay. Extremely clean throughout and I would highly recommend a stay here. Attentive staff and great food in the restaurant. One staff member "Jo" is exceptionally commendable. Great service, always happy and attentive with great knowledge for recommendations regarding the restaurant menu and easy conversation. A true hospitality professional, which is consistent with each staff member I crossed paths with. Thank you for making my stay enjoyable.

Good service, easy to book and very reasonably priced but we were a little disappointed with the carvery - it wasn't very hot and the meat wasn't very nice but on the upside, they were very accommodating to my youngest son who has autism and sensory needs with food and we did have a lovely visit. We would come back to try other things on the menu for definite.

Amazing place First time visit as after Funeral event The 2 young ladies managed with the huge volume of people so well They were polite attentive and bubbly These young ladies deserve a pay rise ❤

Had such a great time at the Bull, as their kitchen is not ready yet we were allowed to bring in food from other local vendors. This paired with their very wide selection of drinks makes the Bull an ideal place to spend an evening. Thank you Sadie for being so accommodating! 🥰
